So this has happened twice now in span of 3 weeks. I charged my phone to 100%, turned on airplane mode, kept the wifi off as well. All the apps were closed. I checked my phone 8 hours later and it was powered off. I plugged in charger and after 10 minutes it gained 1 percent charge. Ironically battery works all good normally, it's just these two instances where it went dead overnight without any use and with network and wifi off. What could be the problem? Any ideas

Go to beta and check if the notifications on apps such as Whatsapp and Facebook are off on both the apps and OS
It could be WhatsApp related. I used whatsapp rarely and it drain happened when it was used, so might be coincidence or Whatsapp is gathering all our stuff in the background

Have the same issue, in my case was youtube, uninstall using xiaomi ADB tool (windows app). It trigger some drm services and top the two big Cores at max freq. Uninstall youtube and test ir it happen again.
Oh, did you used the original charger ?
You can use YouTube vanced for non root also
Just because you close the apps does not mean they won't run by themselves at some point. No issues here since I got my phone 1 month ago. It has to be an app you have installed

Hadn't installed anything new prior to the occurrence of this issue. It hasn't happened again though but this needs to be sorted out as it has happened twice in about a month. Personally from what I've noticed, it happens if you unplug your phone before it's fully charged and then moments later plug it back in and let it go to 100%. Other thing I've noticed is that if you leave the phone on charge for like 10 to 15 minutes after it reaches 100%, battery tends to last much longer than it would if you were to unplug it soon as it hits 100%.

Hi all!
I've some strange problems with mt nexus 4 battery values.
Today i had 59% of battery and i plug it to the original charger. After 2 hours i saw the battery with 100% charge value. OK. Nothing wrong here. I rebooted the phone and after that i had 84% of battery.
This is happening almost every time i charge my nexus 4.
I had stock rom with franco.kernel updater. Now i have paranoid Android with The same kernel.
Any idea about this?

Have you been dirty flashing a lot?
your battery reading needs to be recalibrated.... Charge full than use until it shuts down...than charge again fully, at 100% reboot phone & connect to charge again.....
You also can try "BatteryRepair.apk" from market..most of the time it helps to recalibrate..just install, open & follow on screen instruction....

I had the same issue with my previous nexus 4. Did you ever get your screen/display changed? Or do you charge your phone overnight? Do you rely on USB charging a lot? If any of those answers is YES, its probable that your battery has gone bad (as mine had)
I don't think that's the solution, but give a try to this free app from the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&hl=it
I always thought this problem was related to rom development but I'm not sure. It happened to me with CM11 at the very beginning in november, and then it just stopped. Since January I'm on slimkat, at first it didn't happen and then for a few weeks i noticed the same problem you have, now everything has been fine again for the last two weeks.

I've tried the calibration 2 days in a row (battery at 0%, then charge till 100%, reboot, charge till 100% again). Yesterday i had 90% after the reboot. Today i got 91% after the reboot.

I'm gonna try that app. I rebooted the phone around 9am and now is almost finishing the charge. The battery lasts till tomorrow with my normal use of the phone, but i tough strange that every time i rebooted the phone, i lose battery % :s
Just try avoiding the charge to 100%->reboot->charge to 100% again for a few days.
Don't let it discharge till 0%, connect the charge when you have 1%-4% left and let it charge till 100% with the phone on, and then use your phone normally.

Please go through this thread. A couple of other members (myself included) finally deduced that if you ever have your display changed you NEED to get your battery changed as well. Trust me on this, get your battery checked once. It WILL be bloated. Also, if upon restarting there is a break in the battery graph and there is a significant drop/rise in battery level, that is another indicator that your battery is going.

I've been reading that thread but for example, what happens to me it's nothing compared to the first topic of that thread. I only miss sometimes 10% after restart, sometimes 5%, sometimes nothing. From what i understand, in that thread most of users with battery problem had like 80% and after reboot they only had 2%, or 0%. Thats different i think, but i'm not expert on this subject
Anyway, installed the suggested app and calibrated the battery throw the app. For now i have this data (Paranoid Android Beta6+Franco.Kernel.Updater r201):

Try Battery Monitor Widget from the Market - you can see what current the phone is pulling, and if indeed full charge is reached. There are also calibration tools inside - the app calculates the real capacity of the battery, for example. If it's a long way from 2100mAh it would be a sign you need a new battery.
Though like everyone else, I think it´s a software problem. With previous Android phones I had to be careful calibrating, flashing etc. With the N4 I've had no such issues in the year I've had it. That app can help you sort out battery calibration though.
Can you tell me The dev name? Got 2 battery monitor widgets :s

Idk what is reason for this, fingerprint sensor? Double tap woke up sensor?

Did you root or s-off or anything else? Did you uninstall or disable some apps? I had this problem a few times with my HTC M8... Turns out almost always reason was I disabled or uninstalled some apk which gave phone wakelocks... I had 20+% drain through the night and after I fixed it I had 1% per night (8 hours)... So if you have anything changed, flash stock rom and dont delete anything just wipe dalvik cache and cache.. if problem persist you can try factory reset...
Attached pictures you see what looks like when you have wakelocks and how it should be when phone is in deep sleep... No "Awake" when screen is OFF:
I have a completely stock VZW 10 and I lost 15% over night. I've noticed apps will show in usage that I have never opened, mostly Verizon's junk though.
My unlocked version sleeps like a baby. Might be some Verizon apps draining your batteries. I lose about 3% overnight (about 8 hours)

This is one of the reasons why I'm scared to turn in my S7E for the HTC10. The S7E just lasts for ever on a charge. Right now I'm getting close to 8 hours SOT with over a days usage and thats with gaming mixed in.
I just don't want to risk only getting half that with the HTC10

HTC 10 will probably never do that. S7E has 3600 mAh battery. 10 is only 3000. I'm very happy with the battery of the 10, but I'm coming from the M9 which has rather poor battery life.

Wi-Fi drain? I'm on 1.21.617.3 and only lose 3-4% overnight (about .5%/hr) with Wi-Fi, bluetooth, NFC all on. There is nothing wrong with the stock build as far as battery drain. I also have not modified any Google backups or apps as far as syncing and backups go.

They originally said by then end of the last week but that did not happen, I hope soon though. You will get the updated directly from HTC, not AT&T. I had the unlocked M9 on AT&T and got the Marshmallow update in December from HTC. They still have not released it on AT&T.

I'm also having battery drain. I got the phone Monday and that night I lost about 35% overnight. I fell asleep listening to music over bluetooth so I thought maybe that was it. Then Tuesday night I charged it fully before bed. I took it off the charger at 100%, turned the screen off, set it down and went to bed. Woke up about 9 hours later and it was at 59%.
Android system was the claimed highest user, but it said it was only awake for 14minutes. The top 3 listed apps were Android system, Google Play Services, and Phone idle.
I lost 1% over 5 hours in extremepower mode

Maybe the same tricks that worked on the S7E will work on the 10.
You guy's should try turning off all usage statistic reporting to Google and HTC.
Also check in the developer options to see if any bloatware processes are constantly running. If you find one then just disable it's package.
Hi people!
I cannot complain about battery life, specially in stand by (i rarely active use the phone), with wifi always active and during day time whatssapp web active in background, after root, naptime to force doze and other optimization here and there, my battery last till 6/8 days (with little screen time, 10/20 minuts/day), lol.
Problem is the screen use a lot of juice, even if i set up brightness around 55% only.
And, more strange, i lost 1% of battery almost all time i unlock the screen and use the phone a little.
I mean, i unlock for example the phone and im 80% battery, in 20/60 seconds will turn to 79%.
I unlock and use a little when is at 56%, after 10/30/60 second, turn to 55%.. and so on...
This happen most of the time i unlock it to check screen and i play around a little checking apps and doing stuff, but no games or heavy apps.
Im in last January oreo patch.
Is a common "issue", if issue can be called?
Is a behavior other mi a1 phone noticed too?
My phone was behaving like this also before root and before use naptime.
Facing same issues
I have notice this too but also 1 restart cost 1% battery life is this normal? So if I continuously restart phone 5 times it will use 5%, is this like this for other phones too I'm not quite sure?
I don't have such issue, I turned on/off 6 times with delay for about 60 sec and it dropped only 1% the first time, and I keep the screen brightness about 70%

OK but this seems more a issue of your phone, not a general, operative system base, battery drain.
And your issue dont have similarities with phenom i described in first post in this topic!
You must check what app/setthing keep your phone awake while in stand by and fix it.

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Xiaomi Mi Note 10's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
standby drain is bad for a 5kmah battery
Such a huge battery drain for me too. Which forces me to recharge the phone when I wake up in order to have a full battery.
Check the CPU frequency. Sometimes it gets stuck over 1248mhz at idle. You have to reboot the phone to get it back down to 576mhz.
There's an app in playstore called "CPU Stats". That app puts a CPU meter in the status bar. Handy for letting you know when to restart
Not sure if thats me but i think ive noticed a drain by GSM, same issue that was on my mi 9 with global rom. try to go to service mode from dialer *#*#4636#*#* and set connection type to LTE/WCDMA seems like its helping at least a little
This became a common Miui issue these days. Had this problem with my Mi9T also, and couldn't resolve it in any way, maybe only by flashing custom rom, but this is not a solution.
Usually it was "cell standby" or "whatsapp" that was draining the battery...and I tried everything, debloating, battery optimizations, network mode changes etc.
I have the same problem. Yesterday I used the Mi note 10 intensely. I did 7h of screen and he was still 40% when I went to sleep. Today when I woke up he was 24%. It drained 16% without any use. I have to find out what is draining so much in Stand By.
I'm sad i'm selling my MI NOTE 10 to whom staying in Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast)

Well for now, but the tools are in place to completely break it, they just have to flip the switch. Which will happen sooner or later I'm sure of that and not passing Safety Net until some finds another exploit (which can be months) isn't really an option for me.
Wakelocks has been a constant issue for me on MIUI for years with bad standby as a result. This phone is no exception. It was bad on EEA Global ROM. It's bad on Android 10. I love Xiaomi but for the love of god it always has drain issues in standby. 1% per hour is not OK on a phone like this.

Well for now, but the tools are in place to completely break it, they just have to flip the switch. Which will happen sooner or later I'm sure of that and not passing Safety Net until some finds another exploit (which can be months) isn't really an option for me.

Check the CPU frequency. Sometimes it gets stuck over 1248mhz at idle. You have to reboot the phone to get it back down to 576mhz.
There's an app in playstore called "CPU Stats". That app puts a CPU meter in the status bar. Handy for letting you know when to restart

I confirm this, the cpu usage was stick around 60% at 1.2ghz, without doing nothing. The reboot fix this, but what cause this problem? This phone 2 days ago get an hard reset.

I'm not sure what's causes it. It's either a kernel issue or a system app within MIUI 11
It still happens with the latest 11.0.9 update
Hi, any heating issue with drain, during videocall or web browsing with this Mi Note 10 (Miui Global Stable 11.0.17)? I'm from EU. Thank you!
after the Update to Global 11.1.1.0 Android 10 seen great improvement in battery life and standby drain. Dont know if its only me.
Hi all. Recently my Mi 9T running MIUI 11 has started having some battery temperature issues. The sensor seems to think my battery is -40C and so I keep getting obtrusive popups telling me my phone is too cold. Tried a factory data reset but no luck. I've put some screenshots of the issue up here. Anyone else experiencing this? I might try rolling back to MIUI 10 to see if that fixes it but I'm doubtful...

-40°? May be a broken temperature sensor. If it's that cold you most probably live on the north pole....
I recently updated from MIUI 10 to 11 by ota and temperatures are fine.
Sent from my Mi 9T using XDA Labs
I have the same problem here temperature stuck at -40 and then when I restart it flashes mi logo and won't start for some time. When the temperate is -40 it won't charge.
Also miui 11 update and a new phone (under 1 month)

Interesting... That's exactly the same as what was happening to me. I ended up sending the phone back to be repaired. It's worrying as I've heard so much good stuff about this phone. Guess it's not a widespread issue but still sucks. I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the battery/battery connector as I was also getting battery drain and at one point the battery percentage wasn't updating.
