Reflash Unit? – Erisin ES7825V - Android Head-Units

Hi guys,
I've bought an Erisin ES7825V on Ebay a few months ago (at least I think it's an Erisin ES7825V, because I bought it from an unofficial seller and it doesn't have any branding on it).
The unit was working fine until a few weeks ago the system crashed and rebooted into the recovery menu (see screenshot) and has been stuck on it ever since.
Now the unit does not have any physical buttons, aside from the reset button, but nothing else otherwise. Navigating in the recovery menu doesn't work with the button, since it just resets the unit. However, hooking up a USB keyboard works fine, so I can choose some options. However, as you can see on the screenshot, there is no "Flash from USB" or "Flash from SD". The seller is very Chinese, so his solution is simply: Buy a new unit!
However, I would like to fix it myself. I got some files, but I'm not sure I can use those in a recovery state. I tried copying them to USB the SD card in the GPS slot, nothing works so far. Or at least the unit doesn't do anything.
I think that hardware-wise everything is fine with the unit. I tried, however, to factory reset (the 2nd option on the image) and it couldn't format the cache partition.
When I tried to insert the stick / SD card with the files, I got the errors on the bottom.
Now I have currently got my hands on a power supply unit and am waiting for some cables to connect it to the power outlet at home.
This would give me the option to hook it up to another device and whatnot. Maybe I'll have some more success there.
Do you have any tips to start with? Even getting to the normal recovery menu would be fine, since I could try to restore the image from there then.
Or maybe connecting it to the pc and going at it with adb? I just really don't know where to start from so any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

P.S. Ok, turns out I can't post screenshots... Any other way to show you the images?

It's definite not an Erisin ES7825V because that does have hardware buttons on the left.
Those maybe touch buttons, but not on screen
Can't help you any further, I don't know a solution but I wanted to let you know
Verstuurd vanaf mijn ZUK Z2121 met Tapatalk

Hi Hans,
yeah, that is actually what I got. I meant the unit does not have any physical buttons.
It has a row of touch buttons on the left side. However, since you can't use them to get into Recovery Mode, I don't think they're of any use now.

Ok, so I got my cables and my power supply and hooked this thing up and .... nothing.
Not really sure, why I can't turn it on. I have the Power-Supply and the S-Contact(?) on +, and Ground on - but this thing is doing nothing.
Do Android head units need to be connected some other way? I know it's more of a general question rather then development, but how the hell can I start this thing up?

So now I can finally provide you with some pictures.
This is the screen I get when starting this thing up:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And these are the update files I got:
Any ideas?

Ok, so I finally got this thing hooked up to a power supply.
However, I still couldn't produce any significant results.
One thing I noticed though is, that if I insert an SD card with the files in the picture into the Map-SD-slot,
It won't boot. The screen stays black. Could it be, that it's trying to flash something?
Is there maybe a different way of doing this? Through USB + adb maybe?
Any ideas?

UPDATE
So, I managed to fix this damn thing. For everybody who has the same problem, being stuck in the recovery mode:
After I finally got it connected to the power supply I tried doing the 'Factory data reset' option again, but it just showed me some errors.
In particular i got
"failed to mount /cache: Invalid Argument"
"Formatting /cache"
So I let it be for a few minutes and the screen changed to black, while flashing some errors every few seconds.
Restarted the target, same recovery screen. So I kept doing this 3 or 4 times until finally it restarted and showed the ERISIN logo.
From there I just waited a few minutes and it booted into the home screen... So just keep "erasing" until it reboots into the home screen.
Also, regarding the update from SD card:
1. Insert the SD card into the unit's media-SD slot
2. It should ask you to format, so do this
3. Insert the sd card into your computer (preferably Windows, as I had some trouble with my Mac)
4. Put the update files into the root (leave all the other files / folders on the card)
5. Put the card into the nav-SD slot of the unit.
6. It should tell you it found an update and ask you to restart
7. I left the option for wiping the flash off
*. If after booting it can't read your SD card, try a different one. I had to try 2, before it finally worked.
All standard stuff really. But sometimes it helps sticking to the standard, apparently...

[Q] MicroP(LED) error, touch screen does not work

I have installed the Android photonic CM 7.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1455555) on my HTC mini. Worked fine for a few months.
Now I have a mistake that maybe a hardware error or a software problem with the Rom?
When I switch on the device it takes ages until android is loaded.
But then the touch screen does not work and the power LED is switched off.
(Power LED is always switched off, also when the phone is switched off and connected to charger).
When I boot with Power up+down to tricolor mode I get the following error:
------------------------------------
PB92100
SPL-1.31.0000
!MicroP(LED) error(0x00)! Expected(0x1B)
------------------------------------------
In the tricolor mode I cannot establish a USB connection to my PC, so flashing ROM (e.g. back to WindowsMobile) is impossible in this state.
I also tried to boot into Recovery Mode (that also takes ages, but works). There I unmounted and formatted everthing such as described in the forum (above). I reinstalled android ... but I still have the same problem.
I opened the phone and tested the LED (it is ok, but only 1.2 Volts are applied to LED on the board, therefore it does not glare because it needs 2 Volts).
So I have two possible scenarios:
1) Something in the hardware is broken ... a capacitor or someting else.
2) When I took up my phone out of my pocket I touched the power up+down button by chance and started a hard reset with a nearly empty battery ... and thus the phone stucked with a half hard reset?
Does anybody have an idea? I need HELP!
Thanks Travelmate!
what is your windows mobile Original ROM?
I downloaded it from HTC:
HTC HD Mini_RUU_Photon_HTC_GER_1.36.407.1_Radio_Signed_32.2803.05.06_0.63.05.36_Ship.exe
But I think the WM Rom is not the problem ... the problem is that I cannot establish USB connection in tricolor mode ... so I cannot use any other ROM .. I also tried to flash the Rom as I did for android, but that did not work, because the phone stuck in the MicroP(LED) error without USB connection.
Try to follow this tutorial to solve your problem
HD MINI - MINI TUTORIAL UPGRADE ROM from SD Card

Very good Idea! But unfortunately it does not work. I still get the error:
------------------------------------
PB92100
SPL-1.31.0000
!MicroP(LED) error(0x00)! Expected(0x1B)
------------------------------------------
Thanks anyway !
You should be sure that the battery is charged more than 50%, go to the three-color mode and leave it to charge until the LED turns green, then try again via sd cards to flash ROM. So it worked for me
Yes I charged the battery ... but the LED does not turn green, because it is not working. But when I boot Android I see that the battery is charged (but I cannot do nothing, apart from taking out the battery because the touchscreen does not work).
Did you also have the "MicroP(LED) error" in three-color mode? or another problem?
And are you sure that touch screen doesnt work? Did you try volume up and down in android? because my android is freezing 2-3 times / day..
I tried all buttons you can imagine ... battery in/out ... waiting 24h without battery ... no way! And android is definately working ... but I cannot do nothing with my finger, because the touch screen does not react. I think the problem is deeper in the ROM or hardware because I get the "MicroP(LED)" error in three-color mode that blocks USB connection and obviously also the hardreset function or Rom flash.
Make sure your battery is more than 50% charged!
Option 1. Buy "Genuine HTC HD Mini Battery Charger with USB Power" cost 5-10 EUR
Option 2. Borrow another HD Mini (from friends) to charge the battery.
Option 3. See the picture below.

I charged the battery for a few hours and Android showed me a full battery symbol. But anyway I will try to charge it as in the picture and try again.
But please tell me if you also had the "MicroP(LED)" error and the problem that the power LED is not working at all (no green no red ... nothing and never).
Thanks
I can not say whether the same error was by me, because I have not written and do not know exactly... but one thing I am convinced , if you charge over 50% the battery you will be able to flash from SD card. If this does not help I'm giving up and i have no other advice to give you.
Greetings
Hey thanks for your ideas ... but even with a 100% full battery is does not work. :-( The last reason might be my Kingston (SDC4) 16GB micro SD card .... but it always worked without any problem in this phone.
Hi there
I had the opportunity to fix this led error message by chance. After hours of trials, entering to the bootloader with volume down + power, my HD mini has never been recognized through USB connection.
For an unknown (magical?) reason, i plugged the phone to the usb port WHILE PUSHING VOLUME DOWN BUTTON, and the message disappeared, and the phone was finally recognized. I don't know if it's a matter of chance, but it's worth to try!!
Good luck, hope it will work

Have the same issue with my HTC HD mini PB92100 SPL-1.07.0000. Tried to get connection to PC with USB while holding the vol- button. But didn't work. Did you press vol- in bootloader (red-green-blue_white) mode or in "normal" WM6.5 mode?

Help recovering Samsung Galaxy Note 3 contents

Hi all, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I dropped it on the floor. On the outside, the phone is fine but when I try to restart it, it gets stuck on the splash screen as per this picture

So, I researched XDA forums and someone suggested pressing the Home+Power+Volume up. When I do it, it just enters a loop vibrating every 10 secs (approximately) with a black screen as per this picture
Continued researching XDA forums and found another post telling me to try pressing Home+Power+Volume down to enter an emergency menu. I did so and got the following screen with 2 options (Continue or cancel). I chose continue
When I pressed the volume button up, it showed me the following screen, and stayed there for at least 10 minutes
This reminded me I tried to install a new ROM about 2 years ago (this was my first Android phone), didn't work, but the phone worked well until I dropped it, 2 years after I tried installing a new ROM!
So, I tried repeating the same steps, but this time cancel it. It was stuck in the splash screen again.
In the meantime, I got myself a new phone and the only thing I want to do is to recover the pictures and videos I had in the Note 3.
When I connect the Galaxy Note 3 to my laptop using the original cable, when it's stuck on the splash screen, the laptop doesn't recognize the device and therefore doesn't read the content. The same applies if I press Home+Power+Volume up or Volume down.
What are my options? Is it possible to recover the phone maintaining the contents? Is there a physical device I can use to recover the data (ie. dismantle the phone and read the "hard drive" directly)?
Any help will be very appreciated. Many thanks in advance!
It seems a hardware problem, 'cause it occurs after a shock.
But, before going to panic or to pay a repair, you can try to extract the battery (though maybe it was already got off the phone on the fall).
Wait a minute or so, then re-connect the battery, restart the phone and pray...
Try again the Recovery mode : the home >vol up>power buttons (press Power as the last button). If you enter recovery, make a Factory reset.
If not Recovery, go to download mode, as your 3rd photo. Flash a STOCK firmware, this will not change your Knox.
It is all I can say about. Maybe another more expert member can give you better advice.
Still no joy

Hi afternoon2 - thank you for your help. I have removed the battery and restarted the phone 1 million times. Unfortunately, it never progressed beyond the splash screen.
When I go into recovery mode (Home+Power+Volume up) it goes into vibrating cycle but never displays anything on the screen as described.
Any other suggestions folks?
even with it doing all that, can you hook it up as a us b device to get your data?

Hi gad42000 - thank you for the suggestions. Nope, when I plug in the phone via USB I can't see the phone on the laptop and therefore can't access any of the folders.
Is it possible to read the "hard drive" via some other hardware?
If it's a hardware problem (which I also believe it is) what can I do to recover the data?
I would in your shoes .
Install Samsung USB Drivers .
Change USB Port and change USB cable .

What do you mean by "data". Your media, photos, etc, or the apps data?
My advice is to enter download mode, flash through Odin stock firmware and see what you get. Pick up the know how in the "General" forum of this device.
If success, you will not lose your media data.
If you can get the phone recognized by the computer, you could flash twrp, boot into twrp, mount the data partition, and copy the data to the computer.

If the computer read the device, then he can recover not only the media but also the whole device by flashing it's latest firmware via Odin!

A phone maybe recognised by a computer but that does not automatically mean Odin can be flashed.

Battery Temperature is over 60. Phone keeps shutting down. But the phone is cool.

Hi there
I have an A6000 Plus. I've been using RR for the past month and before that Lineage OS. From this evening, my phone keeps shutting off whenever I switch it on. But it's not the case in Recovery mode. So, I tried flashing the Stock ROM. Same problem. But this time, it shows "Battery Temperature is over 60. Phone will shutdown in 10 seconds (9, 8,7 )" and shuts it off. But when with custom ROMs, it didn't show any warnings. The thing is, phone is not hot at all. Battery is cool too. Temperatures are well below 30 in my room. I have an AC. So, what could be the problem? Please help me out. I cannot use this device.
may be your recovery causing the problem
try flashing recovery again and then stock ROM too

Hi! I tried that too. I forgot to mentioned that in OP. The thing is I saw an YouTube video where he puts a paper in the middle of three contact point on the battery and it worked. But, he tried it with an incompatible sized battery. Say like a Nokia battery. So, I went ahead and tried the same. I checked the voltage. It's 3.8v as same as BL242 (Lenovo's battery). It switched on! BUT never got past the Lenovo logo (bootanimation) for Stock firmware. I tried holding the battery for almost an hour. It was still there. So, I went ahead and flash the Resurrection Remix (11/04/17) ROM. But, it went past the boot animation and almost went to desktop but switched off (not shutting down animation) instantly.
I'm not sure what the problem is. If it's the battery problem, I'd replace it. Also it's gonna cost 800 INR the official one. I don't wanna waste 800 rupees if it's not the battery problem. I don't know what else could I try.

Looks like You've got an hardware problem
but before replacement just try something
connect your A6000 plus to pc and format its partitions as NTFS
then go to disk management (diskmgmt.msc) [Windows]
delete every partition from there for second drive (phone's drive)
your phone will be gone bricked/dead state
flash A6000 ROW with QFil
and you'll get stock Recovery
if that works flash A6000 plus ROM using stock recovery
hope so that'll help

First of all, I couldn't access the phone drive on disk management. It comes up as a MTP device on Windows Explorer. So, couldn't proceed more than that. I gave my device for repair at authorised service centre. They ended up saying "is a board problem". QFIL has different format of accessing the ROM. I can't select zip in there. Can you find me the stock ROM to flash with QFIL? I have it in zip format.

Yes it is available as MTP but
You can format it using Universal USB Installer or
like any usb bootable software
firstly connect your device to your machine and also a pen drive
and start flashing the pen drive using any ISO
your phone will also be flashed as NTFS
now cancel the copying process in pen drive and go to diskmngt and complete your stuff
and if your android is detected on your "QFIL software"
the link for ".zip" is here
hope so it'll help

Hi! Thanks for the reply. I had a busy month. Sorry for the late response.
So, I tried UUI. But it doesn't flash my device but only my USB drive. I even canceled the process. It doesn't seem to do anything.
I'm a pretty good tech guy. It doesn't make sense how it can flash another drive when targeting another drive.
Apart from that, you gave me a link for A6000 not Plus. I managed it to find it on the same website for my device. It's as same as the System.Zip file from "A6000-s_S030_151030_WCF2" this file.
When I select that file on QFIL, it doesn't do anything other than showing lots of errors. I did change the file type from FireHose Programmer to All Files. Still same error.
Care to explain little more about ^^^ this process. How exactly should I do that?

this software may be causing problems as the ROM must be extracted out of ZIP and is recommended to place ZIP's Content in the same directory where the program is installed ("C:/Program Files/QFIL") or somewhat same or wherever you've installed
hint: you'll be working within firmware sub folder
and yes UUI creates partitions for all the external devices attached to pc even if you don't select it :| ("shows warning messages too for the same")
so it'll work
if still you're unable to flash follow the video tutorial here
hope so it'll help

BMW F30 Android HU going into bootloop! Need Help!

It was working until I tried to root it. After I edit build.prop, inject SuperSU into the firmware, update and restart, the unit is going into bootloop, stuck at Logo forever.
What I've done were
- Using SD card to update/restore by Rockchip SD tool (the technique from Malaysk), with factory firmware, but failed, the unit didn't respond or boot from SD card
- Try to connect to USB-OTG port with A-to-A usb cable, failed again, my PC didn't recognized the unit
- Try to boot into recovery mode (there's no physical button on the unit), press down the reset button, hold it or press it twice (this is working for many MTC units), but nothing was happened
I don't know how to do next. The seller still has no respond how I can get into recovery mode. Do you have any idea what should I try next? So frustrating
Thank you in advance!
Does anyone has an idea?
I have this same unit.
Also wanting to root and discover how to enter recovery, will post if i find something
Did you changed your settings in DEV to ART?
If yes.. then you need to buy a new one. Your unit is the same as the ///AVIN units.

No. I think I didn't change it. I just edit the build.prop and inject SuperSU in system.img, and edit default.prop in boot.img to pre-root the system. I'm still have no idea what causes the bootloop.

Are you sure that you did all operations here without issues ? mean if you use it a right way to unpack/repack boot.img ? or maybe you missed one line/ or shomething else when you injected SuperSU on system.img ?
BTW, why you need to root ? this is not a smartphone ... you should be happy that you can use Android on your car

I follow the instruction on the internet. At first it can be updated successfully, but after restart, it's going into a bootloop.
Right now it's not important if it can't be rooted. I just want to flash the factory firmware and get it back :crying:

Anyway, thanks for you attention.
The original surround view and back camera can be used with the unit. However, I used aftermarket camera, not from BMW. You just need to set it in factory settings options. Any other original function of iDrive is still working.
Did you find out how to enter recovery?
Not yet.
Right now I've disassembled it and trying OTG method
Where did you find the factory firmware? Can you share it?
I think im going to try kingoroot, but would like to have something in case it goes wrong.
Kingoroot is not working. Please read my story in Bimmerpost
Fix?
Did you manage to fix this unit?
I had a different issue with a 10.25" 4G SNAPDRAGON ANDROID 9 2+32|4+64GB 8CORE GPS BMW with snapdragon 625: once activated android screenlock pin protection the unit doesn`t recognize my pin and I'm stucked. I need a way to enter recovery and do a full wipe but the stupid back reset button only does a soft reset and no hard reset\recovery
please help

But does a recovery even exist on this unit ? I have played with a Android 4.4 unit (for BMW) and there is no recovery - only some bootloader mode. On 4.4 cand do SD card update on boot which will erase most of old system, but I don't know on Android 9.
BTW , is this unit OK ? I want to buy one for BMW F10.
It came to my mind a method to update the unit with format data . I will quote another member's post
"at my unit i had to add "_format.zip" to my file, and then performed the OTA update, this way the system was truly virginized. "
So you need an update file from your vendor and do as above. This worked for Android 7.1-8 units with px chip .
You can try this method to reset unit :

Head Unit wont boot please help

Sorry for creating another new post but having a nightmare, I have had an android unit installed for less than a week and tonight it has got stuck on the logo and won't boot
its this model https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384770479698 brogotek android 11 it was working perfectly well (apart from not remembering position of music tracks) I had been out and about driving most of the day (around 15 stop/starts if that makes any difference) up until around 6.30pm GMT and booted up fine everytime until then. I understand the unit is rooted as I guess most chinese type units are, then around 8pm I got in and it would not boot
It powers on to the logo screen but will not go any further and the lights on the buttons do not illuminate when i put the headlights on the journey was around 15 mins and it did not move beyond this screen, tried reset button, and press and hold reset button for over a minute

After a bit of trial and error I managed to get into the recovery mode or at least I think it was, Power on and repeatedly tap on power button, I got the word "detected" in green and then I got this "
So it seems there are no recovery files, it did come with a usb drive in the box but nothing on it, I checked on a partition manager and this was the result
I have no idea what the unallocated space is but tried it in both usb ports on the unit and still getting the no update udisk or files message so can only conclude there is just nothing on it.
I have messaged the seller as it has 12 months warranty but can anyone help, could I get a rom even if its just a bog standard android rom to get it running??
Please help
Well kudos to brosmartek customer support, they have sent me some recovery files and I am now back up and running, took less than 10 mins

Brosmartek have sent me their official files, just needed to unzip onto root of a USB drive, plug it in and reset into recovery mode, it worked a charm, reset to factory settings and working great
Hello,
I have exactly the same problem. The screen is stuck, I cannot enter any recovery mode and if I tap on the screen there appears the same message: "no find update udisk or files. please check"
How did you enter the recovery mode?

Hi
Looks like exactly the same issue I had
I contacted the manufacturers(brogotek) on the ebay sales page and they sent me a link to download recovery files.
I downloaded and extracted them to the root of a usb drive, plugged in and reset the unit and it recovered

Please be aware this was sent for a brosmartek android 11 MTK8667 unit, I have no idea if it will work for other units but I hope it does work for you
file must be extracted to root of usb drive, and all files and setting that were on your unit will be lost
Power on unit, press reset button during power up and it might recognise the files and update, if it doesn't find the files automatically, then rest again and do whatever you did to get the screen you posted above
Good luck
