I have installed the Android photonic CM 7.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1455555) on my HTC mini. Worked fine for a few months.
Now I have a mistake that maybe a hardware error or a software problem with the Rom?
When I switch on the device it takes ages until android is loaded.
But then the touch screen does not work and the power LED is switched off.
(Power LED is always switched off, also when the phone is switched off and connected to charger).
When I boot with Power up+down to tricolor mode I get the following error:
------------------------------------
PB92100
SPL-1.31.0000
!MicroP(LED) error(0x00)! Expected(0x1B)
------------------------------------------
In the tricolor mode I cannot establish a USB connection to my PC, so flashing ROM (e.g. back to WindowsMobile) is impossible in this state.
I also tried to boot into Recovery Mode (that also takes ages, but works). There I unmounted and formatted everthing such as described in the forum (above). I reinstalled android ... but I still have the same problem.
I opened the phone and tested the LED (it is ok, but only 1.2 Volts are applied to LED on the board, therefore it does not glare because it needs 2 Volts).
So I have two possible scenarios:
1) Something in the hardware is broken ... a capacitor or someting else.
2) When I took up my phone out of my pocket I touched the power up+down button by chance and started a hard reset with a nearly empty battery ... and thus the phone stucked with a half hard reset?
Does anybody have an idea? I need HELP!
Thanks Travelmate!
what is your windows mobile Original ROM?
I downloaded it from HTC:
HTC HD Mini_RUU_Photon_HTC_GER_1.36.407.1_Radio_Signed_32.2803.05.06_0.63.05.36_Ship.exe
But I think the WM Rom is not the problem ... the problem is that I cannot establish USB connection in tricolor mode ... so I cannot use any other ROM .. I also tried to flash the Rom as I did for android, but that did not work, because the phone stuck in the MicroP(LED) error without USB connection.
Try to follow this tutorial to solve your problem
HD MINI - MINI TUTORIAL UPGRADE ROM from SD Card

Very good Idea! But unfortunately it does not work. I still get the error:
------------------------------------
PB92100
SPL-1.31.0000
!MicroP(LED) error(0x00)! Expected(0x1B)
------------------------------------------
Thanks anyway !
You should be sure that the battery is charged more than 50%, go to the three-color mode and leave it to charge until the LED turns green, then try again via sd cards to flash ROM. So it worked for me
Yes I charged the battery ... but the LED does not turn green, because it is not working. But when I boot Android I see that the battery is charged (but I cannot do nothing, apart from taking out the battery because the touchscreen does not work).
Did you also have the "MicroP(LED) error" in three-color mode? or another problem?
And are you sure that touch screen doesnt work? Did you try volume up and down in android? because my android is freezing 2-3 times / day..
I tried all buttons you can imagine ... battery in/out ... waiting 24h without battery ... no way! And android is definately working ... but I cannot do nothing with my finger, because the touch screen does not react. I think the problem is deeper in the ROM or hardware because I get the "MicroP(LED)" error in three-color mode that blocks USB connection and obviously also the hardreset function or Rom flash.
Make sure your battery is more than 50% charged!
Option 1. Buy "Genuine HTC HD Mini Battery Charger with USB Power" cost 5-10 EUR
Option 2. Borrow another HD Mini (from friends) to charge the battery.
Option 3. See the picture below.

I charged the battery for a few hours and Android showed me a full battery symbol. But anyway I will try to charge it as in the picture and try again.
But please tell me if you also had the "MicroP(LED)" error and the problem that the power LED is not working at all (no green no red ... nothing and never).
Thanks
I can not say whether the same error was by me, because I have not written and do not know exactly... but one thing I am convinced , if you charge over 50% the battery you will be able to flash from SD card. If this does not help I'm giving up and i have no other advice to give you.
Greetings
Hey thanks for your ideas ... but even with a 100% full battery is does not work. :-( The last reason might be my Kingston (SDC4) 16GB micro SD card .... but it always worked without any problem in this phone.
Hi there
I had the opportunity to fix this led error message by chance. After hours of trials, entering to the bootloader with volume down + power, my HD mini has never been recognized through USB connection.
For an unknown (magical?) reason, i plugged the phone to the usb port WHILE PUSHING VOLUME DOWN BUTTON, and the message disappeared, and the phone was finally recognized. I don't know if it's a matter of chance, but it's worth to try!!
Good luck, hope it will work

Have the same issue with my HTC HD mini PB92100 SPL-1.07.0000. Tried to get connection to PC with USB while holding the vol- button. But didn't work. Did you press vol- in bootloader (red-green-blue_white) mode or in "normal" WM6.5 mode?

Hi
Need help, please I just bought HTC Magic which is stuck at " HTC Magic " screen and I don't know how to fix.
I tried with phone turned off:
Volume down + power button, back + power button, home + power button, home + back + power button and nothing happens just HTC "Magic screen"
Your bricked.
Hi
Is there any way I can fixed it? Thanks
Pull the battery, then reinsert, then hold volume down + power and see if you can get into hboot.
Hi
Thanks for the fast replay, but still no luck still stuck at "HTC Magic" screen.
Does the computer detect it? Do adb or fastboot "see" it?
Hi
The computer does not detected, when I plug it in the usb nothing happens, I haven't tried adb or fastboot as I don't know how to can you please explain. Thanks! I will be happy if you can help me fixed.

Try the VOL DOWN + POWER thing again.
*remove the battery
*reinsert the battery
*while the phone is STILL OFF, hold vol down + power and do not release until you get to a white screen.
If that works, let me know and we'll proceed.
What country and carrier is the phone? You can try this method, but MAKE SURE your device matches the device this guide is intended for. If it doesn't match you could make things worse. http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-unroot-the-htc-magic-non-mytouchget-back-to-cupcake/
Hi
I kept for more than 2 min. volume down+power button, but still no luck didn't get white screen just the HTC Magic screen
I think is HTC Magic rogers, under the battery is written "HTC Magic A6161"

I think we're beyond my ability to help. Do a search around here for "goldcard" and that might help you. We need someone with more experience than myself.
Sorry.
Goldcard isn't going to help if he can't get into fastboot/hboot/recovery. Like I said, he's bricked. You may be able to get it fixed using the JTAG method, but that requires a special cable and the know-how. Maybe you can search the internet for someone near you that does it, or send it to an HTC repair facility. Do you still have it under warranty or have the equipment insurance through your carrier?

Bummer. I was under the impression that if he's getting a boot screen it's not bricked, the software is just ****ed. But I agree, if he can't even get into hboot that does not bode well at all...
Hi
Thanks for the help, so you mean this phone in not fixable.
Hi
My SD Card is empty it has been formatted maybe that's why i cant get into fastboot/hboot/recovery when I press those button combination.
Unfortunately, no. Hboot/fastboot/recovery are all written to the phone's internal memory, so the SD card has no baring on it.
Hi
That is what the previous owner (which he bricked it) said:
Semi-bricked HTC Magic
A ROM upgrade was attempted. I've forgotten why it didn't work, it may have been because it was an incompatible ROM?
Can I boot from SD Card?
Thanks

Situation:
Advent Vega running r6 Modaco ROM by Paul
Ubuntu 10.10 desktop PC in case it's needed
Tried to activate the USB Host Mode, as I wanted to plug a USB stick
It had been done before flawlessly.
The device came to a black screen with a prompt: "Starting Fastboot USB download protocol".
The device is unresponsive. Powering off the device and turning it on again brings only the same black screen with the prompt.
I've read somewhere that it's not bricked, but I certainly can't bring it to work. Has anyone encountered this issue?
Re-flash original rom from recovery. Power off and fully charge. Then hold down the back button for 2 sec then power for 2 sec then back for 2 sec. You also need to install the recovery drivers from the advent website. Not sure how that goes with ubuntu. Good Luck
First of all, thanks for your help.
Sigh. I've tried putting the device in Recovery mode (with a timer to count the seconds for every press) and the same Fastboot screen appears.
The lsusb command doesn't return any changes after plugging the Vega either, so I can say the computer is blind to the device. I have another Android device which is recognized flawlessly.
It took me a few attempts to get my device into recovery. Just keep trying with the device plugged in to your pc, eventually i got a unknown device in hardware manager. I then had to install the recovery drivers to get the device to show up.
I dont use ubuntu so cant tell you if its any different.
Oh,, it is. Nobody programs drivers for Linux, and Advent is no exception. I guess I can try and... compile the Windows ones?
For what it's worth my device is not recognised no matter where I plug it, so adb is out of the question.
Using a windows pc would be the easiest. Advent only likes windows for the time being. Sorry i cant help any further, i am not a Linux user.
Then I'll try tomorrow in college. Thanks for your help!
...Forgot to ask: Has anyone had the issue I'm reporting and successfully solved it after flashing?
I've never heard of a Fastboot prompt before, however, as far as I know, getting in to recovery should always be possible.
1) Get the screen on (doesn't matter what is on it).
2) Make sure it is unplugged.
3) Hold power for ~7 seconds until the screen turns off.
4) Plug it in and wait for the charge light.
5) Plug in the USB cable.
6) Hold back.
7) While holding back, press power for 1 to 2 seconds and release (keep holding back)
8) Within 2 seconds you should hear the PC's found USB noise (the screen will not turn on)
9) Once you hear the PC's USB connect noise, you can release back, install the nVidia driver (not ADB driver) and run the FW updater.
PS: I think devs would actually be interesting in getting it in fastboot mode. I wonder how you did that.

I *think* I got that prompt because my device was already in USB host when I intended to toggle USB host. However, it's kind of disheartening to hear that the issue is new...
Shall I post a picture of the prompt?
Here is a (regrettably very poor, I'm no photographic whiz and the college lightning conditions are horrible) picture of the Fastboot prompt I receive.

I've tried to enter Recovery mode today in one of college's computers (Windows XP). The device was recognized as "Nvidia ANdroid Fastboot device" after executing the recovery mode operation successfully. I was prompted to install the drivers, which I did, I was warned that they were unsigned, but on executing the Advent updater I had the following output:
Pressing Enter leads to the console closing and no changes have been done on the device: I'm not told that the image has been installed or anything, the Fastboot screen is still there, and powering on and off does bring me to the same than before.
Hi - I'm now in the same situation with the Fastboot error and no recovery no matter what I try.
Have you been able to boot to recovery / flash your Vega or is it still sitting with the error message ?
I'm going to try again today (Free day, no college )
A re flash will sort it out. I done it 5 times in the past 2 days to test CWM. Just count 2 seconds back button, 2 seconds back and power and 2 seconds back button alone again and it will be in recovery. I do it every time first time. It's just a matter of getting used to it. Then plug the vega in and it will recognise it, you will see by starting the original 1.08 firmware again, the vega screen is blank, no back-light.
I couldn't do it yesterday, but it worked today. I am now on stock 08 and I'm very happy. Thanks for all the help!

Hi, Do yourself such cable from a normal USB micro usb cable:
Deep Flash USB http://en.miui.com/thread-310325-1-1.html
It is normal USB cable, but shorten together black and green lines.
Be sure you have one more unmodified normal micro usb cable.
1. Then plug in modified cable in PC usb and connect the phone.
2. push Vol+, Vol- and Power buttons together for more than 15sec, eg. 20sec.
Even the screen is dark and no activity (like your device is in power-off ) is displayed, the magic should happen.
3. Then connect normal USB cable to PC and plug the phone.
4. Download (if you don't have it) latest official ROM. And unzip it.
5. Now important : DO NOT USE MiFlash at all.
6. Find and Click right mouse button on flash_all.bat file and select 'Run as administrator'
7. Wait until device is get flashed.
Reboot it if needed.
Ask if something goes wrong.
thank you for your replied
okay i get it, i'll try this method tomorrow maybe

Hi guys,
I've bought an Erisin ES7825V on Ebay a few months ago (at least I think it's an Erisin ES7825V, because I bought it from an unofficial seller and it doesn't have any branding on it).
The unit was working fine until a few weeks ago the system crashed and rebooted into the recovery menu (see screenshot) and has been stuck on it ever since.
Now the unit does not have any physical buttons, aside from the reset button, but nothing else otherwise. Navigating in the recovery menu doesn't work with the button, since it just resets the unit. However, hooking up a USB keyboard works fine, so I can choose some options. However, as you can see on the screenshot, there is no "Flash from USB" or "Flash from SD". The seller is very Chinese, so his solution is simply: Buy a new unit!
However, I would like to fix it myself. I got some files, but I'm not sure I can use those in a recovery state. I tried copying them to USB the SD card in the GPS slot, nothing works so far. Or at least the unit doesn't do anything.
I think that hardware-wise everything is fine with the unit. I tried, however, to factory reset (the 2nd option on the image) and it couldn't format the cache partition.
When I tried to insert the stick / SD card with the files, I got the errors on the bottom.
Now I have currently got my hands on a power supply unit and am waiting for some cables to connect it to the power outlet at home.
This would give me the option to hook it up to another device and whatnot. Maybe I'll have some more success there.
Do you have any tips to start with? Even getting to the normal recovery menu would be fine, since I could try to restore the image from there then.
Or maybe connecting it to the pc and going at it with adb? I just really don't know where to start from so any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
SirThanksalot
P.S. Ok, turns out I can't post screenshots... Any other way to show you the images?
It's definite not an Erisin ES7825V because that does have hardware buttons on the left.
Those maybe touch buttons, but not on screen
Can't help you any further, I don't know a solution but I wanted to let you know
Verstuurd vanaf mijn ZUK Z2121 met Tapatalk
Hi Hans,
yeah, that is actually what I got. I meant the unit does not have any physical buttons.
It has a row of touch buttons on the left side. However, since you can't use them to get into Recovery Mode, I don't think they're of any use now.
Ok, so I got my cables and my power supply and hooked this thing up and .... nothing.
Not really sure, why I can't turn it on. I have the Power-Supply and the S-Contact(?) on +, and Ground on - but this thing is doing nothing.
Do Android head units need to be connected some other way? I know it's more of a general question rather then development, but how the hell can I start this thing up?
So now I can finally provide you with some pictures.
This is the screen I get when starting this thing up:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And these are the update files I got:
Any ideas?
Ok, so I finally got this thing hooked up to a power supply.
However, I still couldn't produce any significant results.
One thing I noticed though is, that if I insert an SD card with the files in the picture into the Map-SD-slot,
It won't boot. The screen stays black. Could it be, that it's trying to flash something?
Is there maybe a different way of doing this? Through USB + adb maybe?
Any ideas?
UPDATE
So, I managed to fix this damn thing. For everybody who has the same problem, being stuck in the recovery mode:
After I finally got it connected to the power supply I tried doing the 'Factory data reset' option again, but it just showed me some errors.
In particular i got
"failed to mount /cache: Invalid Argument"
"Formatting /cache"
So I let it be for a few minutes and the screen changed to black, while flashing some errors every few seconds.
Restarted the target, same recovery screen. So I kept doing this 3 or 4 times until finally it restarted and showed the ERISIN logo.
From there I just waited a few minutes and it booted into the home screen... So just keep "erasing" until it reboots into the home screen.
Also, regarding the update from SD card:
1. Insert the SD card into the unit's media-SD slot
2. It should ask you to format, so do this
3. Insert the sd card into your computer (preferably Windows, as I had some trouble with my Mac)
4. Put the update files into the root (leave all the other files / folders on the card)
5. Put the card into the nav-SD slot of the unit.
6. It should tell you it found an update and ask you to restart
7. I left the option for wiping the flash off
*. If after booting it can't read your SD card, try a different one. I had to try 2, before it finally worked.
All standard stuff really. But sometimes it helps sticking to the standard, apparently...

P.S. Ok, turns out I can't post screenshots... Any other way to show you the images?

Hi!
So my phone is stuck with the "an error has occurred while updating the device software" and that screen only shows when i charge my phone with wall brick. If i try to connect my phone with usb to pc nothing happens.
Even if i try to enter download mode. Any suggestions what I can do?
Try using the power button for a hard reboot.
If it got a low battery % you could let it discharge until shutdown. Generally this isn't practical.
Just another reason I don't allow updates...

The phone is "dead" the hard reboot wont help. I get the error screen when i put in the charger, if i connect it to the pc nothing happens and the screen is just black. Doesn't matter if i try download mode, recovery mode or just hold the power button.

You could try pulling the battery connector... hard reboot.
If that doesn't work, it's bricked.

Was Odin working before?
Check Windows Event Viewer for error messages. Latest version and drivers? Roll back or update drivers as needed.
Try another port.
I have zero experience with Odin. If you can't solve it and no one else responds to this thread, start a new thread for this issue. Lots of help here for that! Google search as well with XDA in the search parameters.

Once again check with your PC driver manager. Please confirm it's shows unknown driver or samsung device...if it shows unknown driver, then it happens only connected on bricked phones
Just happend to me too, Odin got stuck when flashing vendor.img (S10+, SM-G975).
For anyone getting here during research, THIS was my life saver:
How To Fix "An Error Occurred While Updating The Device Software" On Galaxy Smartphone? - SamsungSFour.Com
How To Fix "An Error Occurred While Updating The Device Software" On Galaxy Smartphone?
www.samsungsfour.com
tl;dr: after installing the tool (windows, I used it in a W10 sandbox VM on my linux host; make sure to pass the USB device into the VM!)
1) Connect the phone, make sure upper right hand dropdown lists it.
2) Ignore the "Please select your device" drowdown, leave it at "SC-01C". S10 Series isn't in there anyhow.
3) Select "SoftBrick Fixer"
4) Press "Hijack it!"
5) Phone should reboot and be in DL mode again
6) Flash again from ODIN with a GOOD cable and a DIRECT connection to the Host!
HTH.
