So i've decided to post this, simply because ive been enjoying my DHD so much running super smooth, i've done so much experimentation to be sure of my results
yest i was trying my friend DHD and i've encountered bad lag again, i've checked his USB debugging and it was accidentally turned off for god knows why, i turned it on and the situation got better but not as good as mine
i like sense and a stock experience, i have my DHD rooted with the stock 1.32.405.6, i tried almost every Buzz and kamma kernel and i reached one conclusion
ever since both Buzz (v1.0.7) and kamma (v1.0) merged their kernels with the CM kernel its been trouble for stock sense for too many reasons to list in here
Buzz kernel v1.0.6 is the best for sense its based on HTC own kernel just much improved with careful UV, improved CPU governors and all the CPU speed steps you might need, i've been running it using interactive governor at just 1113mhz max and 245min no profiles and its really a dream to use (of course with USB debugging always on)
never lags when you unlock the screen, never lags when you scroll the messages widget or a folder on the home screen, barely any lag when u switch wifi on, never locked up or rebooted, i've been on it for over a month
seriously smooth performance and stability out of this kernel, equally i had my phone charged before going to the pub last Friday, with moderate use i only had to recharge Sunday night thats 48 hours!
i know many of you will flame me for this post and Apache14 will hate me but i wanted to share this and help everyone who has problems with lag
Thank you Apache14 for making my DHD a better device
[edit] Its best to flash it using kernel update utility to prevent boot loops
[edit 2] sadly all Buzz Kernels up to 1.1.4 including 1.0.6 will not work with update 1.72.405.2, it will break the microphone and maybe other things so we need to wait for updated kernels (updated below)
[UDPATE] for Those running firmware 1.72 buzz kernel v1.2.2 runs even better then v1.06, as always flash it using kernel update utility
However for rooted stock 1.72, after flashing the kernel and modules, you will need to replace two lib files otherwise the video playback will break, Apache still didn't include them in his zip file
i've attached them for those who need them (use root explorer to replace the two files) also attached the stock 1.72 kernel with the original lib files just in case you run into trouble
kernel update utility
Buzz Kernel 1.2.2
I saw you suggesting this several times but now i had to try to see, i was using kamma 1.2 but had some lags, indeed DHD is smoother with 1.06

yea sorry i have the tendency to insist when i know i'm right
anyway keep it there for a while and report back, when things load up it runs better
Apache releases for both CM and Sense roms, but his work is no longer optimized for sense roms
kamma uses BFS now which is sometimes faster but causes inconsistency in sense UI frame rates
Actually i tried to flash 1.12 but had a bootlopp and was afraid to try again but now seems ok , you tried 1.12 ?
I doubt Apache will hate you just for saying his 1.0.6 is better for stock sense...
Anyway Apache is a nice guy...no worries

Always use the kernel update utility and you will never get bootloops with any of his kernels
you will get bootloops with buzz kernels unless you use the kernel flash tool
yes i tried 1.1.2 same results as always, never as good as 1.0.6 always contains some bugs and instability, 1.1.2 is aggressively undervolted so its unstable plus contains a serious bug with the interactive governor it was solved with v1.1.3 and v1.1.4
like i said all kernels over v1.0.6 are based on a Cyanogen kernel, which is really so unstable with sense Rom no matter which version
Confirm...
I can confirm that 1.0.6 is the best solution, i have been running it now for 4 days and it is super smooth... I have installed all of these kernels but this one is the best.
yes the problem now we have to update once android revolution is out with base OTA 1.72
it can only work with the coming buzz v1.1.5
v1.0.6 is just so good its how HTC should have released the DHD
hi guyz,
I didnt use kernel update, so...I flashed via clockwork recovery and now it started boot-loop.
I saw I need to boot my device in order to use kernel update tool. so...how to boot it if it's in bootloop??
tnx in advance
EDIT: solved with a clockwork restore
Ok Im running 1.0.6 at te moment , so far so good let's see what the battery usage is like. Definitely speedy!!!!
I agree that 1.0.6 is great! Been running the 1.51 version since it came out few weeks ago. I use min 245 max 1.2 with smartass, no profiles. No lags and great battery life (MAX 2 days). I had some reboots at max freq. so I don't use it anymore. Guess I could just use the uvoc version . Have not tried the newer versions but the reactions seem not so great. If it's because of the CM kernel being used, I hope apache will continue his great work with the stock kernel!

What kernel specifically are you all using? As I see 3 separate kernels available being the 3 underneath this and only 2 of them have a version 1.0.6 which are the top two, just wondered which one you're all using

ah the 1.51ghz one
thanks
i just flashed this 1.06 kernel and it brought back waking the phone via the vol keys! No wonder it didn't work on the new roms that had the newer apache kernels..
so now i can wake the phone with the vol keys and i'm a happy camper!
*edit* realised a couple of things wrong.. the waking up with vol was only immediately after i turned off power to the phone, so that was a false alarm. and secondly i've got no wifi... so i'm gona try to reflash again.
*edit 2* ok wifi's working fine for me.. still no wake with vol keys though.. oh well..

Cant get it to wake via the vol keys. Any further settings required for that?
I might try this and see how it goes, although I have no problems or lag with the latest one, but battery life is aweful because I spend far too much time playing flick kick football and fieldgoal, backbreaker and angry birds whilst listening to music in the background and watching videos in youtube/skyfire, that lasts me around a day

Iam currently on the rooted froyo OTA, but iam not satisfied! so thinking of flashing CyanogenMod 6.1.0!
will there be a difference in performance?
what are the known bugs for CyanogenMod 6.1.0?
and can you suggest a flashing method by which i dont loose my apps?
Cyanogenmod will be faster because JIT is enabled. The only known bug afaik is the lack of video recording. Use Titanium Backup to back up your apps first
Yea, so how do I fix the video recording issue? And other than that will the overclocking kernels work or is it overclocked by default?

As of yet there is no way to get it working. However, I think it is worth a try unless recording video is a major feature of your phone.

*** nandroid backup first ***
Well video recording isnt a major component, but you never know when you might need it! so i repeat, is there absolutely no way of video recording??
and if the answer is still no, then any other jit enabled stable ROM you could recommend?
Another feature you'll lose is FM radio. That said, CM is pretty sweet and definitely worth trying if you haven't.
FM radio doesnt hold much significance to me, but video recording does!
How is openfire compared to CyanogenMod 6.1.0??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893399
How is this rom?
BUMP!!!!!!!
Why dont you flash and look for it yourself? Preference to ROM's is a very personal thing.
Go for OpenFire is the Fastest one, but you have to mod it as you want.

Hey there! I have a Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 (HLTEXX) and have noticed that since flashing a custom rom, (Carbon Rom) recorded video has very low audio.
I went back to stock 4.3 to test and recorded video sounded normal, the same as video recorded on my previous device, an i9300 running Carbon Rom.
I have tested on my HLTEXX with Temasek's Unofficial CM11, with and without Temasek kernel, Official CM11, with and without Temasek Kernel/ Lean Kernel and again with Carbon Rom with Temasek Kernel and Lean Kernel.
When using one of the mentioned kernels, I used Trickster Mod app to try and increase the Mic Gain for video camera.
With Temasek Kernel, as soon as I ticked to apply settings, they reverted back to default. With Lean Kernel, the values appeared to stick but as soon as video was recorded, the values had reverted back to default and recorded video was still quiet.
Does anyone have any ideas how to increase mic gain when recording video? Or is it simply a case of waiting for more kernel sources?
I would appreciate any input, bearing in mind I am just an enthusiast with a basic knowledge of flashing roms and customising my android devices!
Thanks in advance

Haha! No one seems to mention it and mostly my queries have gone unacknowledged, hence the post. But Carbon on G+ were very helpful, Matt went through some troubleshooting and let me test a modified media_profiles file, which increased the audio bit rate and made it stereo but the volume wasn't changed. The low volume is most noticeable when viewing the clips on a PC.

Out of interest, did you come from 4.3 or 4.4 stock rom? I'm wondering if the bootloader would make any difference, but don't know enough about that sort of thing to be sure. I'm considering testing a 4.3 custom rom, then perhaps flashing a stock 4.4 and rooting/ flashing Carbon again, but there's no going back then!

Tweaks to enhance battery......
Flash CM or RR (latest build)
Do not install xposed framework as it will cause random reboots,in result battery drain.
Install these three application:-
1. DS Battery Saver Pro
2. Greenify
3. Terminal Emulator
4. Universal Init.d ( Enable it to run the scripts )
Governor - Yankactive
I/O - Sioplus
For stock kernel - interactive and cfq
Go to the below link and download NITRO X SPARK V3.0 VISION OFFICIAL X86 version :-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/mod-projct-mod-boost-nitro-x-edition-t2809443
Simply flash the downloaded zip file through cwm or twrp recovery.
Reboot your phone
Now go to Terminal emulator and type the following commands:

Following are the images what you have to do do,kindly follow the instructions:-
Ds battery saver Pro and Sot images are attached too(90% to 5%)
*Do at your own Risk

I used CM since 2010 and I dont want to ever touch a their ROM again. It was a complete disaster on the OPO. I cant even remember using a stable CM build, EVER. Give me any CM ROM on any phone and I can make it crash (in 5 minutes) or random reboot in less than an hour.
Overrated ROM from IMO. Didnt they just signed a major deal with Microsoft ? hahahaha, what a pathetic team.

I went through all your comments on this thread. I can't help but notice how much of a pessimist you are. You are shooting down this man's post just because you have some personal issues.
Firstly, voiding warranty and flashing a ROM doesn't magically turn your device into something else. If that was the case, more than 70% of the people on xda must be having "different phones" by now. XDA is about "hacking" your phone to get more out of it or to suit your lifestyle. We don't care about "warranty" or "zenui" and its software gimmicks. It seems like you have come to the wrong neighborhood. Go watch some youtube reviews and surf around Google play store to make yourself happy.
Secondly, it seems like you have a personal vendetta against CM. You are basing your opinion on one experience one device? That's a joke. And they signed a contract with MS? With Micromax? So what? Does it affect the usage of your mobile phone in any way?
Thirdly, if you don't like it, stay the **** away from it.
It's been a while since I've been this rude on a post. But with all due respect, please take your nonsense elsewhere.

I'd say darkonah, then singh kernel. It really depends on ur usage.
Darkonah because I don't have slow charge issues and the performance is great. Battery is average but then you can tweak it.
Singh kernel has better battery back up , giving up on performance.
I had charging issues with Phb kernel and other kernels .

Ya....well I tried phb all versions, darkonah, singh kernel & Dark berry
As you said, phb is mostly good, but has some charging issues.
Dark berry is also decent kernel, but sound output is not satisfactory & gaming lags.
The most liked kernel is darkonah. The sound quality & bass gain is great, but using dt2w while hearing songs makes slight audio tearing. Except that kernel is great.
I'm going with Darkonah:good:

Yup PHB V7 has slow charging issue. it takes 3+ hrs to charge from 10 to 100%. The voice in call recording is also not good.except these issues everything else is fine
On liquid remix PIE+ PHB V7
Use liquid remix if you want customizations..
Else use pixel experience with Darkberry V8
Dt2w works on both
The best you can get out of this device..
