today my op5 stopped charging after dying down in the morning (atleast thats what i'm expecting)
first i thought maybe its charger issue or socket issue but after checking them to be OK i thought maybe charging port of mobile is out
but just atm i connected my phone to computer to saw that its actually connecting to my computer showing
"qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 com 5 connected"
Can anyone point out whats the issue exactly to my phone
at the same time i requested for a repair up also through their official website but still couldnt be able to figure out if its hardware issue or software
I have the same issue intermittently. Originally cleaning the port seemed to fix the problem then it came back. Sometimes it wouldn't charge at all, other times it would slow charge but not fast charge. Now it's back to fast charging as long as the cord isn't stressed. I ordered a charging port and if I can get the damn thing open I'll replace it and the battery.

Thanks mate ..good to know I'm not only one
I already requested for a repair if the problem is regarding Charging port and battery then I guess it won't be a huge setback on my wallet (<$100)
But now If I think about it..yeah I do face minor issue when charging ..sometimes it don't straight away do fast charge or so and stick to basic charge and then after some time it goes to its fast charge
Sounds like it's very similar to my issue. My phone is about 16 months old and out of warranty. My battery shows 82% health. Was as low as 81 percent but it went back up a percent. Lol.
One morning it died overnight which never happens. I believe I went to bed with between 30+40 percent and usually plug in when my alarm goes off in the morning and it's charged by the time I hit snooze the third time. This time something must have drained the battery. It only happened once and never again. It usually takes a long time to drain the last 1/3 of the battery and it doesn't drain much overnight when it's low.
The charging port I can understand having an issue because I work in the woods and it gets gunk in the port from my work vest (bits of tree branches etc). I had to clean it several times and it fixed charging issues then but not lately. I wanted to buy a replacement battery while they were still easily available and not very old. Now I'm not too rushed to fix it because it's been charging okay again recently and the battery is still almost impossible for me to kill in a day despite being at 82% health. That and I couldn't get the screen off with the suction cups I have.
Tried to print some pictures from my phone at Walmart today from my phone and it wouldn't connect via their usb c cable. I guess it's time to fix it sooner than later. Last time I had to transfer pics was for work onto the server at work. It worked but I had to keep from moving the phone at all or it would disconnect.

So I started charging my phone earlier and it took forever, and the phone got very hot, but I didn't think more of it and unplugged it. Then it dropped under 15% and I decided to charge it again. It's been in the charger for 30 minutes and it's only gone from 9% to 10%...
Am I the only one with this problem? =S
Edit: It still gets very warm.
Turn it off and on?

I was sort of hoping it went without saying that I had done that.
I've also tried:
Charging it through my PC
Charging it through the wall charger
Both give the same result as listed in the first post. Also tried removing everything (battery, simcard, mem.card) and reinserting it.
Still it gets very warm and charges almost nothing! =S
Are you using a different USB cable or charger than the one provided?
I have tried several different USB > Micro cables and not all of them have worked properly.
My old BB wall charger works fine, as does my old Motorola one (both plug a USB cable into), but wife's iPhone one does not.
I really don't think that's the problem... I finally got it up to 100% with the wall charger, but when I restarted it after having reinserted the MicroSD, it had dropped 13%. In a few seconds, does not make any sense =S
Night time here now though, so gonna see how much it loses in just standby, if it's a lot I'll try reinstalling the update. But this seems to be an isolated issue?
I noticed that charging it with the wall charger is at least 3 times faster.
Also, you're right, the phone can get really hot while charging and at some point it even stops charging when it's too hot , it happens easier when charging using a computer since the charge takes more time, the only thing that helped in my case was to remove the battery cover and blow some air on the battery
The problem sin't that it charges SLOWER, it charges about the same for both, currently. The problem is that it hardly charges at all...
Also, it was at 100%, then dropped to 87% just with me turning it off, reinserting the memory card and turning it on again.
I went to bed at 2am last night, then it had 87% battery. When I woke up at 9am, it was dead.
your battery is faulty
email SE telling them your battery wont charge but that your friends/spare/new battery does charge when in your phone (to rule out the usb fault that some x10's had) and then they should send you one out.
Need some feedback, any one has had a bad battery yet? I had mine charging up to 85% yesterday and went back to bed thinking that today (sunday) morning will wake up and do some early stuff but I woke up late and had a dead Streak next to me. I left it charging overnight (I know it was only 15%) but you never know when you're going to need that extra juice. I tried turning it on, no luck, took the batt out tried turning on with only the mains plugged in, no go, I had blinking LEDS for a short moment then it turned off and that was it until I decided to jump start the phone (I don't recommend doing this to no one) with a BB Bold Battery (3.7V 1500mAh) all of a sudden I get the battery with exclamation mark, like I had a dead battery, I've only had the device for 2 weeks, also this is a Beta Unit I bought "AS-IS" but the problem was a simple restore and not the battery. now I manage to charge the battery in a raw way, just hot wired into a 4.2v DC. now the big question...
I'm at 40% battery it is draining very little, I would even say it is under normal operation, but i can't tell I don't have a SIM on it ATM. but I checked on "spare parts" to see status of the battery and it all seems ok but the bit that says BATTERY STATUS: discharging
No matter where I plugged the wire it is discharging, the phone is being detected on windows/mac any computer I plug, the phone does detect where the source is coming it says AC when I plug into the charger that came with, if I plug it into the USB of the computer it does says USB but it will never say charging, I even transfered files to the phone to test the wire, seems to me I have a crappy battery but just need more feedback, anyone has had this problem before? on any phone should I call Michael Dell and order another batt?
P.S. I have a BB Javelin had the same problem did jump started the battery and now the mobile is charging no probs and it DOES hold charge.
UPDATE: Ok guys any of you running 2.1 (8105) on your USA Beta (probably regular too) and have this issue about not charging, I went back to 1.6 (4399) issue is gone, I also had the crazy screen couldn't unlock/answer phone, will see if that is gone too, more than likely it is but I'm not 100% sure.
if it wont charge using usb or mains but only by jump starting it, then the streaks charging circuit is most probably f***ed.
Hi everyone - I hope this isn't a redundant or duplicate thread however all information I can find on battery problems centre around the issue of having to power off via the bootloader. This is different. A little backstory....*wibbly lines*
My N7 is two weeks old. Last week I decided to make a pogo pin dock for charging and I guess this is where the problems started. Whether this is coincidental or not is difficult to ascertain. The tablet no longer recognises USB chargers (stock or otherwise), however it had been sporadically charging for short period via USB and now not at all. It has been possible to charge via the pogo pins, yet leaving the house today with a 100% charge and minimal usage the battery was dead less than six hours later. Minimal like, less than 15mins of non-intensive work. Battery history details shows 1h 55m on battery with a slow decline over that entire period to maybe 95% then a total drop to nothing. Plugging in the tablet to my pogo charger shows charging both in the OS and in the black and white powered off charging script. The N7 will boot up however the battery shows 0% and has done for the last couple of hours. Removing the pogo charger shuts the N7 off straight away - whether that is battery deadness or OS terminating because of an apparent flat battery, unsure.
I suspect that something is very very wrong here. Possibly screwed battery management? Faulty battery? Anybody else with the same experience would be gratefully welcomed into the discussion. I'm about to start an RMA and wondering whether I should flash back to a stock kernel/ROM and wipe the tablet first....
Nice to see a warm flow of conversation over this fault.
Unit RMA'ed. I doubt I'll get feedback as to the cause of the problem as I pushed for a complete replacement since repair would take 2-3 weeks off a device only a little over a week out of the box. Hmph.
Good luck with the replacement unit.
Based on the chronology you describe (& other factors) I think I would be reluctant to use your homemade charger on the replacement.

Hi,
Ive had the oppo for just over a day now and the first day all was well until last night. I had about 10% battery and left the phone on charge. half an hour later i came back and it was on 2% and then it died. I connected my phone to my computer via the usb cable and the charging indicator came on. The phone has been charging for 3 hours and is still on 0% and as soon as i take it of the phone dies.
hope someone can help

sorry to hear about the charging problem. I have not heard of that. Some have complained that it charges slow. I have the opposite experience, mine charges relatively quickly I think. Anyway, have you tried contacting OPPO support. They will respond withing 24hrs, assuming it's not the weekend!
I also experienced some charging issues. Connected my Find to my laptop the other evening, closed the lid and went to bed.
The next morning the phone was out of juice. For some reason, my Find 5 will not charge when my laptop is hibernating. It charges fine otherwise.
No other phone I've owned has this problem. I tested it with my old Galaxy Note and HD2. No problems charging when laptop is hibernating.
I also noticed that sometimes when connected as Media Device (MTP) it says charging....but the battery level still goes down.

Probably the power output is not enough to charge the phone properly, it also happens to me, but with the stock charger it does it well.
Hi guys so I bought a nexus 6p a month ago and been loving it. I almost have nothing to complain about except this issue.
After using it a few times I've realized that sometimes the battery goes down in less than 2 hours screen on time while sometimes it lasts for about 4 hours screen on time.
After monitoring the battery usage regularly I've noticed that the phone never goes to sleep after plugging in the charger until the phone is restarted every time. So in short I have to restart my phone every time after I charge my phone to prevent wakelock.
While this definitely isn't that serious of an issue its still really annoying and the nature of the issue is really weird because as long as I restart my phone after charging the wakelock never occurs. I've tried uninstalling all the apps, switching off Bluetooth and WiFi but still no luck. I doubt it's app related as it only happens when I plug in my phone to the charger. Does anyone have an idea what's going on and any solution to this?
Thanks in advance
Is this always using the provided wall charger or a 3rd party charger. I've had pretty strange behaviour when u used a cheap USB a-c cable with my car charger, had to buy a decent branded cable in the end.
My phone refused to charge off the wall charger after I used the cheap cable until I did a reboot. It might have caused wakelocks but I stopped using it pretty quickly.
