Are there any further updates coming for H870, or is the device forgotten already? I received V20c in September, and it was only a security patch. I'm looking for any news about updates coming in the future, but can't find anything
It's already 1,5 years old and it's a LG, forget it. It's falling slowly into the forgotten hole.

LG G5 got update 8.0, so why G6 would not get 9.0
Just got the November security patch. What specifically are you looking for?

If Lenovo is smart, it will happen on this time frame. After all, this was one of the selling points of this phone and brand. I can understand their stance on quarterly security updates vice monthly, so I don't think it is indication of any delay to be expected. Having recently acquired the Moto line, failure to meet this expectation would be bad for business. My only hope is that the level of quality fit future phones remains intact. I have had the bad luck of being burned by both a laptop and windows tablet by them. Both had mobos that quit within a few months of the year warranty being up.
It shouldn't take more than 2 months after the release for nexus which means in november ; marshmallow was released fir nexus devices in october and our moto recieved it in december! Actually I believe that it shoudn't take more than a month ! I mean the job is pretty easy for lenovo! No modding no UI changes..... It's pretty much stock android All it takes is a clean build ! It isn't that different from making an update for nexus devices!

LoL like we had security updates before. I only got 2 security updates since I bought it. There were never monthly security updates for the G4. I also starting to doubt for the Nougat update.

I had taken 2 major android updates and maybe 5-6 security updates. My device is H815TR. Now I am using v20i Turkey Stock unrooted(it cannot be unlocked).
As far as know if you have flashed right country kdz firmware, you will certainly take security updates
It only says no security updates, but still, if the nought update does not come for a wider variety of the G4 models, i will be very annoyed at LG.
LG really sucks! They provide updates for V10 but not G4. Ridiculous..
I can't even unlock my bootloader ? AndroidOne phones ain't sounding too bad, right about now. (Updates)

I'm still on stock 10o H810 at&t and waiting for nougat update. I can forfeit root for the nougat update. But till now. I'm unsure if we'll get it. I hope I'll get it. Really hope so.

There is nougat beta for h815 which i use and full kdz for korean devices, so how technically u can say that there is no nougat? Chill, it will come out soon or later and it will be last update for g4 which is pretty old device in smartphone world. That said nougat beta is the best rom i had on my g4

Yes, I also think it will come out.
But the G4 is just such an old device beacuse it took so long for LG to develop the Nougat update xD
Are we seriously to believe that LG is spending any time developing Nougat for the LG G4 (other variants) now that Oreo is out, and they are concentrating on their (new) phones which they are actually trying to sell now ?
I think we've been left in the dust - again.

Are they serious, what are they talking about?! The last security patch I received was 1 year and 3 months ago... And this is on a carrier-free device which should receive the updates first, nice joke LG they probably don't even have clue that there's nothing going on.

That is the time when It'll be released if will have the same ETAs as on G5 (which received Nougat on November 2016)
However I don't work for LG, so let's wait, the fact that H870 is stuck on July patch is a "good" thing in this case, this means that LG is working on Oreo and not on Patches.
But, there is also a "bad" thing, this year the V series phone has been released with an older version of android whether the V20 was released on Nougat, being the first phone with it.
Let's wait and hope.

Isn't there a beta at least? There hasn't been any mention on this.. i undestand that it is a budget phone, but we need more attention from motorola, specially the moto G5+ users that were abandoned after the launch of the G5s+

There probably will be a beta in the month of February as I think Motovo/Lenovorola has still one security patch to fix KRACK left which is for the 1st of January.
So wait for the 1st January patch and positively after that, the next update should be Oreo
I think Oreo is the least of anybody's concern
I don't know about anyone else but I have gotten 3 back to back security updates in the past 24 hours to bring my ph up to the April 2018 patch level. Before this, it had been months since I'd gotten a security patch.
I speculate its a pre-req for the Oreo update because I just bought my daughter the Moto X4 this week & the 1st thing that occurred out of the box, is that it got 3 consecutive security patches to bring it up to the March patch level & only then did the Oreo update show up immediately after that.
This is all pure speculation on my part but based on some recent events that don't add up unless they are about to push out the Oreo update.
What do you guys think?

I would doubt that the security patches mean anything other than the Android Security Team pushed out an extra patch.

I really hope we will get Oreo and Project Treble, that would most likely mean we could get some more stable ROMs on our phone
