Hey Guys,
I just now bought fire hd8(8gh gen) and i found our that it doesn't support display mirroring.
I don't know why Amazon decided to go in the reverse direction of technological evolution and for some reason they are removing display mirroring from all their latest devices like FIRE HD 8 and 10, fire TV stick 4k.
Here are my questions:
1) does anyone know the reason of this getting removed?
2) Is there a work around to make it working?

You can use TeamViewer (mirror through PC) app instead.

Hello everyone!!
I'm debating on what to get. I'm not sure whether to purchase a Kindle Fire or a regular Android Tablet like the ASUS Transformer.
One of the main things holding me back is that the Kindle Fire only has 8GB of storage and no microSD slot to increase that.
Would you buy the Kindle Fire again after owning it?
Thanks!

I only bought the Fire because I was short on cash and only needed a tablet to develop software, connect to computers remotely, read books, watch a couple movies, listen to a couple music and browse the web. So far, the Fire has been doing those pretty well.
I'd definitely buy a full fledged tablet like the iPad 2 or Asus Transformer if I could spare the cash though but I definitely like my Kindle and want to keep it!
It just depends on your needs man but sometimes. If you don't need to do too many things on a tablet, just get the Kindle man it's only $200.
As above, I only bought the KF because it was a cheap way to get a durable small tablet for Internet access. As a Kindle E-Reader it's rubbish, bright backlit display and short battery life make it very poor compared to a regular Kindle.
if you have the money, I would get a full Android tablet. You can do everything the kindle can do on an Android tablet, but you can't do everything on a kindle fire that you can do on an android tablet.
That said, the Kindle Fire is excellent for streaming video, reading books, light game play, and general web surfing.
Hey everyone, I'm considering on buying the Fire HD 8 with alexa, but I was wondering if multi window is available on it since I use it quite a lot.
I've not seen 'multi windows' yet. At least not on a tablet from Amazon. The only thing I can think of that might be close, but likely way off, is dual screen. You can project your screen over your screen...like split screen except you can move it around. That is one of the awesome features that's supposed to come with screen mirroring aka Wireless Display.
Nope. Its a Android N 7.x Feature. I think all Amazon Tablets are running 5.1.1
My Fire HD8 2017 (gen7) is running douglas-user 5.1.1 LVY48F 50.5.7.9_user_579225620

I have a rooted Fire HD 8 that is unusable because of ****ware, which is already disabled etc. Is there a dirty way to turn this tablet into a basic machine? My mom is in chemo and want to give her a Netflix tablet, but this thing is even too slow.
Is it just the bootloader being unlocked thats holding me back from running something like this?

Actually no. You can't unlock the bootloader. If I recall correctly, you have read-write access tought Preloader so you can do a few stuff, but nobody looked deeper.
Regards.

There is no more performance to squeeze once you disable the bulk of Amazon stuff - it's all down to the "natural" performance of the chip. I have HD7 2014 (ariel), it also feels quite slow today ...
I really want that new google tv launcher for my 4k stick. However app requires minimum android 8. Will there ever be fire os 7 (android 9) update for this device? Or is it possible to port this app to fire os 6?

i dont think they will push an oreo/pie update through to mantis 4k . The reason being is that theyve just produced these new crap 3rd Generation Pendants/sticks and also the Lite Edition . So basically instead of upgrading the OS of the best devices (Mantis & Sloane ) they have been greedy and produced more devices to encourage people to spend more .
you can find more information on devices here :

Even after a reload then I realized how much I value my 4k mantis as Iused root more than I realized and its Highly customized how I want it .
