Sorry about the confusion long story short i hard brick my phone. Used qfil to fix it..my phone won't connect to my pc (bad charger port i believe)...so basically after restoring my phone I'm stock on a dev rom with no ota so I'm trying to get back to a stock eui for the x727 version but i can't find the stock rom anywhere I've been searching for 2 days

can u try connecting your phone to another pc and see if it is recognized there, and if it still isn't recognized then go into decide manager and check if there is any malfunctioned device.

i can use my phone (normally), but only if i connect it to my laptop/charger. if i disconnect it, its just like there's no power in the batery.

Even disconnected from comp? Was it rooted, recovery or had a custom ROM? Did your phone work before??
I had a similar problem with my phone being not recognized on my comp, but my phone worked fine when not connected. It was a driver issue. Uninstall current driver and reinstall a fresh driver package and give it a shot. But if your phone isnt working at ALL, thats a diff story

Yup just a black screen regardless what I do. I was rooted, messed up and said to update the OTA and then fell into this mess. I am guessing its shot at this point but though I would ask the question.

Unable to connect via USB to computer?

Okay, so I'm trying to plug my Verizon Note 3 into my laptop in order to transfer some photos and videos. However, there's no "USB Connected" notification that shows up on the phone, and the computer only recognizes "Samsung Android," and the drivers for it fail to install. The phone DOES charge, though.
My phone is rooted, so I unrooted by reinstalling the NC4 kitkat build via Odin. This didn't change anything. I've looked everywhere, and people keep saying "Go to storage settings and set to MTP only," but I don't see that setting...anywhere.
Since I rooted my phone, I have all the Samsung USB drivers, and I even have Kies installed. Turning off USB Debugging does nothing.
Is there any way to fix this?
I need to use a standard usb cable rather than the note 3 cable for mine to work.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk 4
I had the same problem with no solution, i ended up uninstalling Towel Root and then doing a factory restore to get back the USB connection capability on my phone.

Did you get the latest drivers from the Samsung website? I only ask because when I went to install a rom for the first time Odin wouldn't recognize my phone in download mode but did while I was booted up normally. Come to find out the drivers I was using that was linked on the page where I got instructions how to root and rom were old. I went onto the Samsung website and downloaded the latest drivers and all was well. Give it a shot.

Yeah, I've tried the USB drivers from Samsung's website. I also tried installing Kies. AFAIK, Kies automatically installs the latest drivers for Samsung devices, but when I plugged my phone into my computer, Kies wouldn't even recognize it. The new 4.4.4 update didn't fix the problem. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Whenever I try to connect my phone to the PC it says "USB device not recognized"

Whenever I try to connect my phone to the PC it says "USB device not recognized"
Was thinking about copying some files from the PC to the phone when suddenly it doesn't recognize it. Could it be that the micro USB port on the phone is broken somehow? All I can do right now is charge the phone. Is there something I can work around to fix it on my own or do I have to take it for the repair?
Think you need to get it to the repair. First try another USB cable. Then you can try to get it on the other rom or factors reset it to make certain how it is a USB port & not the software even actually chances for that are slim.

Well, there is no dust in the port and I don't think that it got "weared out" or something since the phone is not that old. I was trying CM 11 and then went to stock to try something out and when I wanted to copy some files to the phone the PC couldn't recognize it. And I flashed the newest firmware from Sammobile with Odin which got out September 27th and it all started after I flashed it. The worst of all I am also experiencing some weird bugs like the wallpaper turning black when I drag apps over to move them to another screen on home which is gone after I reboot the phone. So this new firmware is for sure buggy, and the worst of all I can't get to an older version because the PC can't recognize the phone anymore. Jeez this is screwed up.
EDIT: Okay a bit more digging around on my PC and I found that if I uninstall the driver in the Device Manager that has an exclamation mark when I connect my phone the "connected" sound is played on the PC and it starts installing a driver and then I get the error message. So I guess it's this stupid firmware.

Actuality forget it and use FlashFire instead it's more simple.

Did you try on another PC or with another cable? If you did my bet is that it's not software but broken USB connector on the phone (plenty of those on alk S3's including Neo's).
Best regards.

No, I didn't try it on a differrent PC yet but I will. As for this FlashFire thing, it says it's for rooted devices, and my phone right now isn't, since I can't connect it to my PC(it all happened the same day - had CM11 all worked got to stock had UI bugs and PC couldn't recognize it). Is there some way of rooting it without the PC? I tried some apps but none worked even tho some of them did before on older firmware.

If the KingRoot doesn't work I am afraid that you will have to get a little creative & use ADB over WiFi.

Puff. First of all enable adb & over tcp (wifi) in developer options.
https://dzone.com/articles/use-adb-over-wi-fi-without
Or use some of the apps.
The commands & how to use them.
http://www.androidlegend.com/how-to-use-adb-fastboot-commands-with-your-android-device/
You need to push SU bin & app along with Busybox bin (command extension).
http://androidforums.com/threads/how-to-root-any-android-device-manually.586982/
If this doesn't help you or you don't know how to do it I am sorry but I can't help you more than this.

You can push & a older kernel image & then use kingroot if it's easier for you like that...

You can flash vendor, boot, and system images using TWRP then root again. However, bootloader and radio must be flashed either as a zip in TWRP or via fastboot. Bootloader and radio images cannot be flashed via the TWRP "image install." It is recommended that you flashed radio and bootloader through fastboot.

If it's stock you like could always flash SuperXe . 8.1 versions are latest stock and 8.0 is built from stock source with latest security. All of which are flashable via twrp. On a side note pick yourself up cheap otg cable so you can backup your files on thumb drive. Makes it real easy if you have to completely wipe your phone. Especially if you don't have much access or having issues with computer.

I really couldn't tell you don't remember having to really install any drivers . I installed nexus toolkit though maybe that did. Then the obvious trying different cable and USB ports. Try putting USB debugging on in developer options. That's all I can think of sorry not much help .
