GN on Red Pocket

Hello Folks!
Does anyone know if Note will work on Red Pocket network? I understand they are using AT&T towers, but just wanted to double check and see if anyone as any experience with them?
Also if you are on Red Pocket, can you please post your data speeds? I am in New York - Long Island area.

works just fine... no problems... not sure of the speeds but it does pretty good.... sold it to a customer last week and he is happy

I can attest that it works fine on Red Pocket as well. I'm wondering if MMS will be ok when my note updates to ICS because I've heard there have been some APN problems on other phones that upgraded to ICS.

I am trying to unlock a n7000 for a friend. Which makes no since to me because I thought this phone was factory unlocked. Yet when I put her red pocket sim in it, it asks for a sim unlock code. I've checked in the "about phone" settings and confirmed that it is a n7000. She bought it off eBay and the seller also claimed it is factory unlocked. Anybody have any idea what the issue might be? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the link. Didn't get a chance to try it. I rooted it with doom lord v4(would post link but don't know how) and installed busybox and unlocked with galaxy s unlock from the play store. Worked perfectly.
BTW turned out it it is a sgh-i9220/gt-n7000 so it was locked to a vodaphone. Don't understand why Samsung wouldn't put that info in the about phone info oh well thanks again

Hi, I just bought an S4 off of kijiji (canadian equivalent of Craigslist) and I have some major problems.
When I put my sim in it says "not registered on network"
I looked up the imei and it seems clean according to (http://sndeep.info/en)
The guy is still in contact with me and this is his story, he went somewhere to get it unlocked but hours before he sold it to me he upgraded the firmware so the unlock went away.
I have a few basic questions.
1. How can I tell what company this phone is locked to?
2. What message do you get if you were to put a sim card for a company that your phone isn't locked to?

Idk, the answers to your questions. But I do know that upgrading the firmware will not re-lock the phone. I think he's bs'ing you

Craigslist is a good place to buy a phone but when buying phones on Craigslist (which I have done many times)
I always TEST the phone first with my sim chip before shelling out the bucks!
It's not that difficult to do and it avoids this kind and other kinds of issues.
The other guy @jd1639 is right, flashing new or different firmware has nothing to do with locking or unlocking the phone.

There's no type of unlock that is temporary and will go away when you upgrade?

There is no temporary unlock which I am aware of, never heard or seen such a thing.
Unlocking phones is not a software/firmware related or dependent issue.

I had a nanosim it wouldn't fit so I trusted him. Biggest mistake I made. but I mean I don't mind unlocking it it's not that expensive

Sure, that's easy to do...
Just go to this Swappa link: http://swappa.com/esn
Then carefully type in your IMEI numbers and you will find out instantly.....

Network Unlock Unsuccessful

I bought a code from a reputable unlocker for a Canadian SM-G900W8. However it is not working. I've tried twice. They say their codes are 99% accurate. Ive never had problems from them before.
Any insight?

Which unlocker service did you use? It could be that you gave them the wrong IMEI and the unlock code they provided you with does not apply to your device.

I have heard good things about cellunlocker.net and I have used them on multiple devices in the past. My friend has unlocked his S5 sucessfully using their service aswell.

used cellunlocker too. no problems here, worked right off the bat

I got the code from phoneunlockingshop.ca and the same problem happens. They guide me to do a factory reset and it works for me. You may do the same and try the code which you purchased recently

Can anybody tell me why a T-mobile unlocked phone won't work with T-mobile?
I used the phone on my carrier and it was flawless. Everything was fine till suddenly i lost phone signal. It always show "NO SERVICE" message now, but strangely I still have 4G Connection. I can use the phone to navigate, not to make phone calls.
So I swapped carriers, and the phone was working ok, phone calls, data connection.... then the thing happened again: no service, but i have 4g LTE connection.
Inserted a third sim card, from another carrier. Phone is fine, workin as it should! But this is not my main sim card and i would like it very much to work with ANY carrier. Do you guys have any idea what the problem is? Factory reset did not work at all. For the others sim cards, it recognize the network for a second and then "no service". How can i have data connection if there is "no service"?
Im really desperate because i payed a lot for this note 4... Maybe if i root the phone and flash another ROM?

Try reflashing it with stock firmware. I don't know if this is a sign of phone being reported as stolen or lost.
Maybe some more expert can answer that as I'm not from US.

Same problem here. Bought the device over the internet in Norway. Seems to be it is blocked on one network but the other is working. Anyway to fix that?

Pretty much the only way would be to write new imei which is illegal.

Why? what about the others providers?
in my country there are 4, i cant use in two of them. Called the costumer service, they said my IMEI is OK. If it wasnt, i could not use it in all carriers. Damn it.. have no idea what to do... Im think about sueing SAMSUNG and force them to give me a new device.

If it is bought from swappa, it must have passed their imei test, which means it is not blacklisted and already been paid off. This is strange, but contact seller and swappa immediately...

First ask swappa what was the IMEI number that the seller submitted, check that with the IMEI on your hpone. If there is a discrepancy, then it means the seller submitted an IMEI which is already paid off, then he sent you the NEW one, which he MIGHT have declared lost or stolen, hence the BLOCK.

did you send a message on the sale page? if you did, thanks, swappa answered me, device is blacklisted by T-Mobile. I just dont understand how can i use the phone on others providers like VIVO and OI, TIM and CLARO dont accept the phone in their network, i wonder if they have a bussiness relationship with TMobile.
I will contact Tmo and ask what can i do about this.

Yes I did.. what did swappa say? Are they helping you? Also try to claim on paypal if you still have the window...

We have 2 major networks in Norway. It was blocked on the one for like 1 month and afterwards other operator also blocked the IMEI. The only solution is to change IMEI or the motherboard. Unfortunately there is no way out of this.

"Sunderwear" T-Mobile financed g4 sim unlock service works!

I just used Sunderwears unlock service. My lg g4 is being financed so i cannot request a permanent unlock..only a temp unlock. Using his service allowed me to permanently unlock my g4 for any carrier! Here is a video i took.

carrier unlock is not the same as bootloader unlock. there is no "temporary" bootloader unlock. its either unlocked or its not.
however, some unlocks can be reverted, that doesnt mean they are temporary.

It sounds like your refering to a sim unlock. I would change the name of your thread because when you just say unlock we think you have found the Holy Grale. Call it a sim unlock in your topic.

It is a sim unlock. He is charging $45 for it.

Pm him I'm not sure if he has a website yet. And yea my bad its a Sim unlock

from segment 1 to segment 2, there's a 3 hour delay based on the phone clock. Maybe it's just me, but something seems off.

Well if u want Wifi calling and HD Voice u need the unlock service. But then again these only work for T-Mobile.

can this be done on a G4 that had it's IMEI changed to unblock it? I have one that this was done on, still can't use the unlock app, and of course talking to t-mobile is useless, they have no record of the new IMEI so they can't unlock it for me.
Edit: wanted to also advise, I tried this with that rom that is supposed to allow to you unlock a H811, when I use the dialer code to get into the unlock menu, all of the options show as permanently being locked, so it may not work at all for the app either.
