I just used Sunderwears unlock service. My lg g4 is being financed so i cannot request a permanent unlock..only a temp unlock. Using his service allowed me to permanently unlock my g4 for any carrier! Here is a video i took.

Is there a link to the service?

carrier unlock is not the same as bootloader unlock. there is no "temporary" bootloader unlock. its either unlocked or its not.
however, some unlocks can be reverted, that doesnt mean they are temporary.
It sounds like your refering to a sim unlock. I would change the name of your thread because when you just say unlock we think you have found the Holy Grale. Call it a sim unlock in your topic.
It is a sim unlock. He is charging $45 for it.
Pm him I'm not sure if he has a website yet. And yea my bad its a Sim unlock
from segment 1 to segment 2, there's a 3 hour delay based on the phone clock. Maybe it's just me, but something seems off.

please do not pm requesting me to unlock your device. T-mobile caught up and the loop hole is been closed. Sorry.
Can you stillunlock?
Nevermind
@Sunderwear
can this be done on a G4 that had it's IMEI changed to unblock it? I have one that this was done on, still can't use the unlock app, and of course talking to t-mobile is useless, they have no record of the new IMEI so they can't unlock it for me.
Edit: wanted to also advise, I tried this with that rom that is supposed to allow to you unlock a H811, when I use the dialer code to get into the unlock menu, all of the options show as permanently being locked, so it may not work at all for the app either.

i have tried many places and none of them were able to provide unlock code for AT&T's X10a. but my last hope (the code) came in today and unlocked my X10a right away. am i the first one who has unlocked AT&T's version by code instead of cable?
edit: 12/18/2010
hi, guys
in order to get unlock code i need correct info to be filled out as a note/message, when you make payment at paypal.
please do not PM me with any info, it is very easy to lost track of PMs you are welcome to notify me about your donation though.
1. IMEI and S/N (serial number) under your battery
2. exact model and which network your phone is locked to
3. your XDA ID (to notify you when your code is ready)
4. i can only send code to paypal verified email address, the one when you register/make payment with paypal.
please note, it takes 7-10 days to get code.
thanks
Can you provide more info and/or explain more, thanks.

X10 Unlock
From my side.. it's three weeks that I'm trying to unlock this damn piece of cell phone, but no way.
At first I was quite confident wit cellunlockers.net, but after 10 days they refund my money saying -no way-.
Then I tried mobileincanada.com who where really very fast, they refunded my money after only 40 minutes
Last try with unlocking.com, after 10 days they were still looking for excuses, they did not find any code (on their web site they promise a next day solution!) so I asked for a refund, that they did not want to give me !!!
I opened a debate on paypal and after a couple of days I had my money back, but the cell phone is still locked..
So if anyone has a solution, please help ! AT&T supplies the unlock sequence (for free) only after 90 days from the purchase....
I too am having no luck with my X10 from AT&T so if theres not development I am going to go ahead and sell the phone....
Update: Got it Unlocked from Cellunlocker.net (Cable method)....

Agreed. I have tried to get the unlock code for my AT&T X10a for 2 months with no success. Gave Lancez my S/N and IMEI and 10 days later received my unlock code as a PM. Inserted a different SIM card in my phone, entered the code and VOLA..! The phone was network unlocked! No pain, no hassle.
Greetings all I have searched left and right back and forth and cannot find a post on the forums concerning this issue. I currently have a ZTE Zmax Pro and want to change carriers. Thanks.

I just bought a new ZTE XMAX PRO few days ago I actually enjoy MetroPCS I tether off them like couple hundred gigabytes a month, and they will sell you that zMAX Pro unlocked and they will unlock it after three months of service for free if you can't do it yourself, I currently have Z981, SM-G900P, and XT1254. Tonight I'm going to look into rooting and possibly unlocking the SIM card what the code and the unlock device app that comes with Metro is blue with a little key
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
No code needed on this phone to unlock. The unlocking process is done thru the "Unkock" app installed on phone. When app is launched, it communicates with a server, the server determines if phone is eligible for unlock. The above mentioned unlocking service apparently sends info to server "stating 90 days have passed(?) and is now eligible for unlock(?). I just unlocked another one today, phone is only 3 days old, less than 2 hours the phone was unlocked thru the Unlock app.

In the bootloader, the code at the bottom will say whether the phone is locked or not. Also, the OEM unlocking switch in Dev options will be tinted out so you are not able to unlock the bootloader. An unlocked Pixel gives this ability (as shown).

I had to take my faulty pixel back to EE and they sent for repair. They decided it couldn't be repaired and it was replaced and the new one on 7.1.2 is unlockable so the new ones may be OK?
it has nothing to do with firmware version. if it's network unlocked so is the bootloader toggle.
I had to warranty return my Pixel, I now get OEM option on Dev menu
Just got my EE Pixel unlocked, thanks for the info.
I filled out the online form for the unlock but nothing happened within 10 days. Phoned EE they said they have a few issues with it but they would put it through for me now would take 24 -48 hours. I decided to run a basic packet logger to see what happens when the device unlocks, It shows Device Setup getting a connection from afwprovisioning-pa.googleapis.com on port 443 for 42ms then another after to Google Play Services from cloudconfig.googleapis.com on port 443 for 117ms, then a notification came up from Device Setup saying "Carrier lock removed, The device can now be used on any network", I checked OEM unlock and I am now able to toggle it on and off.
Its a shame I couldn't get any more info from the packet capture but being non root was the best I could do, as i have no wifi card in desktop so couldn't do a mitm and wireshark it. I hope this helps or at least gives some more info on what happens when the device is carrier unlocked.

That is awesome, real proof it is Google's servers. Thank you, I know there is a thanks button but this info is pretty cool.
Have you attempted to toggle OEM unlocking by using a temporary sim unlock?
I was wondering about this as well as the Verizon Pixel bootloader unlock method.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/how-to/how-to-unlock-bootloader-verizon-pixel-t3796030
I mean, even if either of those works, still won't be able to unlock without the .bin file, and OnePlus's system most likely cross checks with T-Mobile.
There was a bigger thread on the let down Tmobile and one plus gave us @ the event. I was at the event and did get the phone and returned it because it was not the unlocked dual sim as they promised... Since I purchased the phone full price I was able to use the Tmobile APP on the phone to Sim unlock. The boot loader unlock requires a special bin file from Tmobile that takes up to 2 weeks to receive.

It has to be permanent unlock for the action to work. Many have tried to do it with Temp, and no luck. It's not hard to get TMO to give you the permanent unlock, I got it from them and still have payments on the device.

As others have stated, temp sim unlock won't work.
FWIW, I made two attempts requesting sim unlock through chat support. First I tried what others suggested, I was traveling more than 6 months and pushed pretty hard for a perm unlock. They would not budge.
Second attempt I chatted support again...this time I was a bit more creative and forthcoming...told them I was an app developer who needed an OEM unlock for development purposes, and a sim unlock is required to do so. Also told them I had no intention of selling the phone or using it off network. Few minutes later I had a perm sim unlock without ever making a single payment to the device, only 2 weeks after purchasing it. Also helped I was a 10+ year customer with 3 lines, but they were a bit more understanding with the story that time around.

Also helped I was a 10+ year customer with 3 lines, but they were a bit more understanding with the story that time around.

I don't want to lie but seriously. Why won't they unlock me? We have 5 lines and been with them 15 years. They told me over and over that didn't matter.
Do you call them? I tried twice in same week and failed. So I waited a week and lucky the rep did it for me with no questions asked.
No need to lie since I'm leaving overseas soon.

You just have to be diligent and hope to get the right representative. I would suggest the TMO chat on their app or I've read people had a lot of success with TMO support chat on Twitter.
I just finally got things straightened out with Verizon and am successfully using dual sim TMO/VZW.
Well, I didn't get it at the event but the temporarily unlock worked for me. I bought the phone on 11/17 and the next day I was curious to try this app and voila!

I hear y'all... I've been there done that and still remember! Stock Android now a days is much better than its used to be so I quit rooting since I bought the Essential phone last year, but it's just me!!! Enjoy your flashing :good:
I might need to unlock the bootloader later to flash the international rom to get faster updates directly from OP.
I got an S10+ as a gift. I asked T-Mobile support to unlock it and they said no problem and that it would take 72 hours.
Well it's been over a week and I've been back and forth with support trying everything up to and including a factory reset all with no luck. They're now saying that they've "exhausted their efforts" and that *some phones can't be unlocked".
I've never experienced this with support before and am not sure what to do next. I'm pretty sure Samsung is just going to refer me back to the carrier if I try them. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

How do you know it's still locked?
Do you have an account with T-Mobile? Contact their Twitter at TMobile help they are usually way more helpful then calling or chatting thru their website and I've personally unlocked dozens of phones like that, paid off or not.

When I go to Settings and click "Permanent Unlock" I get an error message *Your phone isn't elligible to be unlocked. Reason code: 999".
However, you're right that I haven't tried to put in a different SIM maybe it already unlocked?

If it is a Tmobile branded phone version then it is locked. Tmobile can unlock it as long as your account is 3+ month old and in good standing I think.

Again, their support said they entered it in the system to unlock and it's not working so I don't know what to do next. It's a weird position to be in.
It's my understanding that they used to unlock with an app, but that now it's built into the firmware? In any case, can't get it to work and they have literally said there's nothing else they can do which is really strange.

If the person that gifted it to you got it from T-mobile store then it would be quick, but if they got it from elsewhere, T-mobile always has trouble finding that order and IMEI and takes forever to actually unlock it.

It's directly from T-Mobile, and I gave them a screen shot of the IMEI which they confirmed over and over.
If they can't unlock it, can a third party?
No one knows?

Try with a non T-mobile SIM and if it is still locked, take it to the T-mobile store and have them call customer service to unlock. This way the store representative can let them know it is in fact locked.

Having the same issue with TMobile always get my phones unlocked via Twitter s8, note8, s9, note 9, onplus 6t all on JOD one thing they all had in common was the unlock app with the new S10 they having build in into the system and I have spend 1 month trying to unlock it even have gotten the phone replaced thinking it was defective , T-Mobile chat has said multiple times they did a override to unlock and still nothing I feel like there is an issue with the new build in unlock process vs the unlock app
Do we know if we can use a code to unlock the phone with different firmware? Are we stuck using T-Mobile's unlock protocol/app?

That's my experience too... there's no app and T-Mobile seems to have no solution.
So what do we do now?

I traded in the S10+ to the LG g8 just to make sure is the phone since the LG still has the unlock app I'll test and see
Edit: asked TMobile via Twitter for the unlock and when through the app , pressed permanent unlock and walla
I was able to successfully unlock my phone through T-Mobile on twitter. They just need your IMEI and will whitelist it. There is no unlock app anymore. I did have to chat with another rep however because the first rep that tried to help me did something wrong on their end and they tried to tell me to use the unlock app which the S10's don't have.
Locking a device with zero EIP balance should be illegal.
I went through this when I bought a 128GB S6 Edge outright. The phone was paid in full at the store yet they wanted me to wait 40 days to unlock it. I tried 3rd party unlockers and they said they couldn't unlock it. (all attempts with codes failed)
It was a real cluster-f.
I just buy my phones from ebay now. No carrier junk or branding and none of this nonsense either. Paypal is great if a seller tries to jerk you around. Fortunately I haven't had any problems.

Yeah their training is clearly a little behind, but I went through their escalations team and everything and they literally said the had "exhausted all efforts" and added that "some phones can't be unlocked". How crazy is that?
So my current question is... are there still third party unlocks possible?
