"App note found." Apps inside App Drawer - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

I moved some of my apps into the SD card. After reboot, the apps inside the app drawer had a grayed out SD card icon. If it's accessed inside a folder inside the app drawer, it says "App not found". But if access outside the folder or search on top via search, it opens. Anyway to have the icons back and be able to access inside the folders, without moving the apps back to the internal memory? Thanks in advance.

Same for me, that apps which is in sd card after reboot not display icon

TW icons disappear after reboot

Obsidian 4.2, after every reboot some icons disappear from TW desktop. They remain in Applications folder and I can drag it on desktop, but only until the next
reboot.
This is because on Froyo some programs by default are installed to external SD card. And after reboot icons for these programs disappear from TouchWiz, maybe it's a TW bug.
Solution: move programs back from SD to internal memory. Froyo's Settings - Applications - Manage Applications app have useful tab named "On SD card" to manage apps installed on SD card.
i posted about this in the macnut r12 thread, but nobody responded. i wonder if it is the tw launcher or the same happens with adw and launcher pro.

Wow, thanks for the fix!! This has been bothering me ever since JFD was leaked.
Omg :thump up ass: no wonder my neocore shortcut has been dissapearing, ohhh im such an idiot.
Fear the beard...
Since we have near 2 GBs for apps, really no need to move apps to SD is there? I mean, this is something I love on my G1 and N1, but I've never felt the need with the Vibrant. I LOVE having so much memory.
I am having a similar problem with CNN News app. The shortcut and app in app drawer itself disappears every time I reboot. The app drawer icon comes back after few mins, but not the shortcut. I saw this thread and thought the app would be on external SD, but it is in internal.

Problem with Apps not showning in app list

Yesterday i noticed a change in DESKTOP VISUALIZER not showing the icon packs any longer. I rooted my phone and all looked OK. I installed CMP player with ASTRO file manager and opened up from within ASTRO and all looked ok. I looked for the CMP icon in the app list and it was not there.
I went to run Titanium backup and the icon was missing from the app list. I went to the market, uninstalled it and installed it again and the icon was still missing from the app list.
Does anyone have any idea what happened or how to fix?
thanks
By chance are you running Launcher Pro? If so, check to make sure it is not a "hidden app" there. I was missing the Music icon and found it was hidden there.
launcher pro
Yes I am running launcher pro. There is nothing checked in hidden apps. HOWEVER I did find the CONNECTED MUSIC PLAYER icon in the app list. I found it when i noticed there were 2 identical "MUSIC" icons in the list. The second icon was the newly installed app. BUT, Titanium backup is still not there. The only thing i can think of is i installed Titanium before I rooted the phone though I did not run anything in the program. I'll try uninstalling it again and rebooting the phone and reinstall. The icon packs are still not showing in DESTOP VISUALIZER.
Try toggling the option to show hidden apps... unless the apps you're looking for do show up in the "hide" list, and are unchecked.
oops
End of Flesh......this is embarassing......I installed the PRO version (key) of titanitum without installing the program itself which is why there was no icon...
I can be dumb sometimes ((((
However, the original problem still exists. Desktop Visualizer allows you to chose an application to put on your homescreen, then allows you to choose an icon to use with the app. It gives you 3 choices of where to get your icons: Image File, App Icon, or Icon Pack. Previously when i choose Icon Pack, about 15 of my installed apps came up in the list. When i choose one of those apps, a window would open showing me a picuture of icons that particular app draws on. I simply selected one of the icons and it was associated with the app i had chosen. Now when I select Icon Pack, i get a message saying no icon packs are installed, which is true, but something changed since those apps using their own icon packs no longer appear. I got some pretty neat icons that way, but am hoping nothing got messed up somewhere along the line. I didn't un-install anything or do anything out of the ordinary that i can remember.
Anyway, thanks for your help...greatly appreciated.

Apps from Amazon store don't show up in Launcher

I recently installed CM7 nightly 213 on an SD card using verygreen's size-agnostic installer. This is my first time doing this so forgive me if this is a noob question.
I had a bunch of apps from Amazon that I had already installed on my phone. I installed the appstore on my nook color and I started downloading and installing the apps from my account. However once they are installed, they don't show up in the launcher.
I did look around using the File Manager and found some directories in /mnt/asec that had folders with names that indicated some of the apps I downloaded created them. Inside them there are "pkg.apk" files. If I run that, the app gets installed again and I can then see it in the Launcher.
If I go into Application settings->Manage applications I see them all there. If I go into a specific one and say "Move to SD Card" or "Move to Phone" (whichever option I have), the app will then show up in launcher. I can toggle it back and forth, i.e. SD Card to Phone and back, and it will continue to appear in the launcher.
This isn't really a big deal, but it is kind of odd. Is it a setting I have somewhere, or is this a bug somehow?
What launcher are you using?

If this post helped you don't forget to say thanks!
Just whatever the default one is.
Open the "drawer" by tapping the square icon in the bottom center (at least, it's there by default). Icons for all of your apps will be shown.
Scroll until you find the one you want, then long-press it until it lights up. Keep holding it. Drag it downwards, you'll drop back into the default launcher screen, and you can drag it to where you want it and let go.
This is the basic way to organize your launcher screens.
You can long-press any icon and move or remove it; removing doesn't uninstall.
Good luck!

[Q] Lost apps in drawer

I moved Chrome from the Google folder to the desktop and subsequently removed it from there. Now it no longer shows up in the folder or the app drawer. It is still installed and I can open it if I search for it, but I can't find the icon to place it back on the home screen. I even uninstalled The Update AND Re updated It To No avail. Thanks for any help getting it back
Check your frozen apps on the far right tab under Settings - Application Manager. Unfreeze it. One bug I have noticed so far is if you drag and drop into folders in the app drawer as soon as your restart they dissappear. Best way to add apps to folder is to add them via the plus sign button.

[Q] Folder and apps on same page in app drawer

Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to have folders and apps on same page in app draw.
Currently i have a page for folders and other pages for apps but i can't seem to get both of them same page.
When i try and move it it says "Cannot move folders from app page. Folder icon can only be rearranged only in folder page"
Thanks
