Anyone else having issues with 24/7 streams in Kodi where it goes to start the next episode and the video freezes but the audio still continues?
I've tried resetting Kodi, turning off hw acceleration, everything I could possibly think of with no luck
Any suggestions/fixes?
I just bought this shield
Yup - exact same problem. But alas, no solution yet either. MiBox on Marshmallow works fine so not sure if this is an Oreo issue. Any and all help from the community is greatly appreciated!

Recently I have been getting micro stuttering issues with my Shield while using Netflix. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I saw some threads regarding this on the official Nvidia forums, but I could not find a fix that would work for me
If you are on stock software, I had issues with video stutter due to refresh rate's not properly changing. It also could be the infamous 1.4 update causing issues. Not sure if there much you can do, but there are updates in the works to marshmallow and that should fix a lot of problems.
So, I'm not insane.
YES. watching netflix on my shield tv with 1.4 update.. I can't stand the stuttering. It doesn't bother my wife, but it's driving me crazy. micro stuttering is the best way to describe it. Just barely noticeable. The video jumps about 1 frame every 20 seconds and the audio pops about every ten. Hope the next update fixes it!!
You could always try reverting to the 1.3 update as less people are having issues with it. I had that issue with kedi until I switched to the Full Android 1.8 ROM, but others seemed to not have the same issue.
Solved... for now.
Easiest, and laziest way (was suggested in NVidia forums) for me was to go to my google play store find the Netflix app and uninstall it, I also hit the settings and turned off Auto updates. That left me with the base Netflix app that came with the device from the factory. No more stuttering or audio popping. I have a basic setup, HDMI to TV 720p. TV speaker output for my sound. Works great for me. Nvidia claims to be working on a fix in the next OTA firmware update.
Hope this helps someone!
Running with the shield pro everything was fine but I was starting to find audio going ouit of sync these past couple of days, I cleared the cache (65 mb) ,I stopped and restarted, uninstalled and reinstalled, same issues, applies both to x264 and x265 encodes, anyone got any ideas why? Or solutions?
You have a configuration under HDMI settings, to synchronize the sound with the image. Try change that definition.
Hope it help.
Kodi has a couple of sync options. Maybe try there first. I had my audio synced, but I was getting video stutter. My experience was an Firmware 1.3 back in June/July though, so I don't know if it's changed. I'm now on Full android, and it's working perfectly, so I can say it's either a Kodi setting, or something wrong with the OS from Nvidia. This hardware is beastly.

I'm experiencing the same issues even with the new 2016 shield. Sorry to revive this but anyone have any clue?
Hi all,
after searching for weeks after getting my Shield TV I have been trying to figure out a problem that is driving me insane. I have a Vizio M65-C1 with the Shield plugged into HDMI 5 (fully compliant).
My problem is that at entirely random times ( about once every hour or two) the Shield will "loose sync" with the TV for a split second, and the screen goes black before coming back and continuing on perfectly fine like nothing happened at all. This happens in any app and the surprising thing is that Netflix doesn't pause when this happens ( which I thought it did when there is a signal issue due to copy protection? correct me if I am wrong please... )
My question is, has anybody else ever heard or seen this with the Shield TV? I had my Xbox One on the same port for a few months before the Shield and it never had a problem, albeit it only ran at 1080p. My main thing I am trying to figure out is whether this is a TV issue or a Shield issue.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
I have the same issue, but with the M55-C2 and the Nvidia Shield. I'm on firmware 1.3.15UHD. The Nvidia Shield does not drop out when connected to my two other TVs, which are not 4k.
Others are having this issue as well.

FUUUUUUUUU thank you SO much for responding. At least I know where the problem lies now. I have literally been scouring for weeks. I have no idea how I missed that thread.
Well the thing that sucks is that this is seemingly out of my control to fix then :/
EDIT: Apparently you copied the link to this thread Has anybody been able to workaround this for now do you know? It's not super annoying, but hardly ideal either.
EDIT 2: https://forums.geforce.com/default/...-hdmi-disconnect-reconnect-problem/?offset=25
Apparently this is definitely a problem with the firmware. Searching handshake with that firmware version got me here.
Nvidia told me to change the refresh rate to 59.9hz as a temporary solution. So far so good
Ditto for me... Same model TV.. Same issue.. Will try setting to 59.9hz to see if problem persists. It's annoying when it happens in the middle of a game ..
Update: Changed the setting last night and the issue seems to be gone.. Thanks for the info !

Wondering if anyone is having the same problem I am with the OnePlus 6T or has suggestions to fix it. When I try to play videos I downloaded through Amazon Prime for offline viewing, the sound only comes through in extremely short stutters or not at all. If I stream it works as expected. Already reinstalled Prime Video, tried all the download quality options, and no change. Downloaded and streaming video from Netflix works fine. Guessing codec issues or sound settings but haven't found a solution thus far.
Anyone else run into this?
Did you root O6t ?
I saw on one of the post that, there's some issue with Amazon & netflix videos after root.

Are you on the T-Mobile version? The latest OS update pushed out a few days ago broke Play Store certification for many people. That can cause issues with apps that use DRM, like Netflix and I guess maybe Amazon Prime Video. If this is the case, clearing data/storage on the Play Store fixes it. Source.
ETA: Just noticed the timestamp on the OP, doh. Oh well, leaving my post up in case anyone else having this problem more recently comes here looking for answers.
Is there anyone experiencing problems in casting screen? I dont know why but evreytime i connect my device, it lags. then eventually it disconnects. i hope somebody help me with this matter.
First off, make sure your chromecast device share the same wireless network (not wired) as your phone. Install Google Home, see if the device is ready for Chromecasting.
Mine works alright.
This is weird but I had lag when casting on stock Oreo. Now it is absolutely smooth even while playing 1080p 10bit x265. My internet and chromecast device are the same, nothing has changed except that now Im on stock Pie. Maybe try removing your device from google home and set it up again.
