At first when moto produced defy in India, the system is android 2.1, with bl3, this version is not so much but it exists indeed.
guys don't you think that Moto defy can be great on Gingerbread and higher
The Defy was released with Eclair because they went after the profit: Motorola promised one system update and delivered it - FroYo, but buggy and unstable. Then they released the Defy+ (with a slightly bigger battery and an overclocked CPU) but with Gingerbread, thinking it would be enough to convince the majority of the users that it was worth it to buy the "new" model.
It's probably the same tactic as the one used by Intel: tick-tock (but at Intel they at can justify it by hardware limitations).
"Tick" means a big step ahead, new hardware, new features. "Tock" contains some improvements and tweaks, not a real reason to update. Defy was the tick and Defy+ was the tock.
Probably the 3rd gen Defy will be a tick and a real reason to upgrade .

Motorola about to launch RAZR D1 and D3 in brazil

Motorola announced two new phones for the brazilian phone market. They both look similar to the RAZR i / M, but have other internals, smaller display sizes etc.
D1: 3,5 inch display, 1ghz, 1gb ram, 1785 mAh, 4gb storage + sdcard slot
D3: 4 inch display, 1,2ghz dualcore, 1gb ram, 2000 mAh, 4gb storage + sdcard slot
The interesting bit, why i posted it razr i-related:
They will be launched with 4.1 Jelly Bean, but an upgrade to the next android version is guaranteed. It looks like this could possible affect the razr i? If these phones get 4.2 or even more android versions, the razr m will get them too. And for the sake of x86 intel will push motorola to publish the same android version for the razr i.

Better image available there.
Did you see the other Motorola "prototype"? It looks great, I mean, it looks something familiar to the Galaxy Nexus but when It cames from Motorola, I expect a high material and construction quality, only the back is the thing i didn't like it, its soo black and common...
My only 2 petitions for Motorola are (in design):
- PLEAAASEEEE, don't let the MicroSD slot die! These little friends are getting cheaper every day and its really stupid that some manufacturers don't release high spec phones with microsd slots...
- Keep the KEVLAR, it looks and feels great, it don't even scratch and accept it, its elegant, its like having Alcantara on your car seats...
Razr d1
is a great device has 1GB RAM, 1GHz processor and amrv7 4GB of internal memory. This is great for a smart entry in Brazil. has not yet root. :crying:
Can someone please create a topic for razr D1 here at XDA, many want to root it.

Is the Razr D3 compatible with european network ?
Is english language available at least ?
This Motorola Razr D3 XT920 is a spectacular phone. Bought one, dual sim, last week and worth every penny. Fairly small, smart and a impressive battery duration of 2 days in normal use (calling, checking e.mails, sending sms, etc.).
It has a dual-core 1.2 GHz CPU, android 4.1, 1GB RAM and 4GB Storage. An excelent configuration for what I do for a greeeat price. And one of the best things: no bloatware or dumb modifications. Almost an AOSP.
Clap clap clap clap for Motorola.

Guims, as any other android device, you can choose the language when turn on for the first time (or when you reset it to factory default).
Finally... ROOT for the D3 XT920. Do at your own risk.
Worked for me.

I would buy a razr d3. My previous phone was a razr i, but i decided to buy a dual sim phone.
But i'm in france and there is no lot of choise.
So i hesitate.
Only three languages are available. They are English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

Indeed, it's the Moto G itself
It would be interesting to see a lower powered nexus like device, they were originally released for developers, but I guess with such a big market of lower end devices most apps need to be able to run on moto g hardware (if that makes sense)

If Moto G becomes a great success then maybe in March or April they may release Moto G+ with Custom Moto Chip like Moto X and 2 or 1.5 Gig of RAM . What do you all think

To my surprise the MotoG performs very well with its current "powerhouse"...
Was a bit sceptic when learned it uses Snapdragon 400, but 4core (same processor is in the S4Mini, but Mini comes with 2core version!)
The battery rocks!!! Really happy with the phone so far, as even with lower spec it puts behind top-dogs like S3 LTE,Sony SP...
Despite all pros, I still wrote to Santa about Nexus 5

MotoG has a quadcore cortex A7 and,

and in Moto G the CPU is of ARM architecture the Cortex A7

Considering Qualcomm knows which device use their processors, none had the MSM8x26 quad-core A7 1.2GHz (Adreno 305 450MHz GPU) before Moto G
Moto is quite a innovator ( well, they invented mobile so no doubts about that ! ) they are not fools to release there first ever international release after becoming "A Google Company" as a 'Experiment' so they are 100% Sure about its Hardware and how it should be the Best and even be a Beast with the support of Vanilla Android. Even then it will not be easy to place it at numero Uno considering it's Price tag.
As Moto is targeting the greater percentage of customers round the globe by releasing a cheap phone best in it's class now Moto mat thing of creating a King of all Phones with Mind-Blowing Specs and Amazing OS experience with something that will become there trade-mark.
There are lots of hopes from my side towards Motorola just because they created the mobile and they created very great phones in past and main reason for such faith is also the fact that MOTO is now a Google company so I want to see the masterpiece of the MOTO-GOOGLE

A bit confused about info on that link in your post... It states that S3 Mini uses Snapdragon 400, but as far as I know it used some NovaThor 8500 (made by Ericsson, but the venture is gone anyway)...

i wouldn't be surprised : Samsung did build two or more devices with same name (but different codename) with different SoCs, in addition, i found an article about an AT&T specific SIII Mini Powered by a snapdragon 400
No surprise , it's the kind of trick Samsung plays to earn money .

Want to buy this phone, few q

Pretty nice phone but you really feel that it's old now.....No more updates than Marshmallow...
Its costed me 180$ for a new one.
Performance.....Well its a low end for todays standards
Why not p9 lite !
P9 lite has better performance and battery and design and fingerprint and Android N , comes in 2 or 3 GB RAM ..
Watch reviews on YouTube for both devices ..
I think p9 lite costs more than p8 lite by 40$

i hate that android never support their devices..

Which phone would you upgrade to?

I just recently bought myself an Honor 7X and, to be honest, I'm really enjoying it. It seems very fluid and reactive in comparison to the Moto G4 Plus even though the H7X I chose has 3GB of RAM instead of 4GB.
It was quite a hassle to unlock the bootloader though and there aren't many ROMs for it yet but it's still fairly young. Having Treble support directly from Huawei is definitely a plus.
What about you guys?

I agree!
I managed to unlock mine though. ?
I look for custom roms and development before buying a new phone. That leaves me to just two choices: OnePlus or the pixel. I prefer the pixel because it has a sensible screen size and is not an iPhone copycat like OnePlus is becoming. Gotta save up. For the time being, I've got to continue pushing the G4+. Got it's battery replaced too for that reason.
I'm leaning towards Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. Nice specs and pretty decent development. But right now I'm waiting for Oreo for Moto. If this doesn't happen by the beginning of the 2019 I will make a jump
Recently I switched to a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite 4GB RAM/64 GB storage for about €160-170. So far I'm loving it, because of 4000mAh battery (2-3days power with 10+ hours SoT) paired with pure stock Android and guaranteed fast updates because of Android One.
I'm definitely going to buy a Redmi Note 6 pro.
Just upgraded to an LG V30+ and it's amazing!
