Pretty nice phone but you really feel that it's old now.....No more updates than Marshmallow...
Its costed me 180$ for a new one.
Performance.....Well its a low end for todays standards

Why not p9 lite !
P9 lite has better performance and battery and design and fingerprint and Android N , comes in 2 or 3 GB RAM ..
Watch reviews on YouTube for both devices ..
I think p9 lite costs more than p8 lite by 40$

They have same specs except screen size and a second camera......You will be happy with your decision but you won't get happy with Android development..... huawei don't release kernel sources that work

Marshmallow is out! Huawei - goodbye!

Just got Marshmallow on nexus 5. My friend. Not me.
There is nothing to do here! It was a big mistake buy honor 6 and wait for actual firmware. Sure nexus from Huawei will follow H6. Huawei - one of the best hardware manufacturer, but phones - no!
Goodbye Huawei!
Guys you are the best. See ya in other threads!
What the hell? Huawei announced we will get Marshmallow in Q1 2016. We just got 5.1 which is already very new.

Why open a post to talk nonsense?
Why comparisons Huawei with Google nexus?
At least you know the difference between Lollipop and marshmallow?
Small changes on some apps and introduced a menu level security patch
Nothing revolutionary than Lollipop
The problem of the brand Honor by Huawei is Linux kernel which is open source and is also protected by the GNU General Public License, version 2. Technically, it implies that any chipset vendor/OEM who makes use of android falls under these laws and has no choice but to comply with them and release the source code to the public in accordance.
That's why not buy more Huawei or Honor, not for Marshmallow that no one has yet
PS - Some my friends more than a year ago have paid 600 EUR for a Note 3 and still are stuck in Lollipop 5.0.2!

Quick comparison: Honor 5C versus Honor 5X

It looks like 5C is a nice phone on spec, but the CPU is Hisilicon Kirin 650, is it a bad sign for development of AOSP ROMs considering other Kirin phones?

I think more want 5C Huawei Honor , I am very curious about the performance of Hisilicon Kirin personally

Kirin 650 inside honor 5c is more powerful than snapdragon 616 in honor 5x.
bt kirin is somewhere left behind in the case of active development, honor 5x aldredy has official cm13
bt since xda and honor are now tied up we can expect some good.

Surely you we will get. All Honor devices will be updated to the latest android version for 2 years from the date of release. If there is any major security bug after 2 years, then also Honor guarantees to provide you update...
Remember thant Honor 4x which came with kitkat is now running on Marshmallow..

Decided to buy honor 8,but

I'm a k Indian user and I want to clear icy few things before buying it..
I'm buying the honor 8 because of the emui5(crazy but yes)
So I have a few questions..
1. Since I'm from india, will I have a dual sim support?
2. Since the processor is kirin, will there be bugless custom builds?
Much help will be much appreciated... Thanks
It depends where you buy your Honor 8.ones sold via Vmall India and authorised dealers in Intake not dual sim... If you want a dual sim import via China or European Vmall store but make sure the radio bands support your network/networks

Unless you import dual sim variant, you can't get dual sim support. And you need to pay import duties which might cost further higher.
Regarding the EMUI updates, as of now VoLTE for Honor 5X is done only for INDIA. So Indian version will get faster updates compared to others in my opinion.
Regarding the custom builds, As it is a Kirin processor it is difficult to get through.
You can check the Honor 7 forums about the custom builds they have. So that you can get better idea for Honor 8 in the future.

As of now India has Band 3, 5 and Band 40 LTE.
Mostly imported devices will support Band 3.
Mobile Network Support:
JIO supports all 3 bands. (Bihar, Jharkahnd, Jammu, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh don't have Band 3 support)
Airtel and Aircel has only Band 40 support.
If the imported mobile supports any of the bands of your mobile network, then it will support LTE.

Also in case of Honor 5X, I think No other country got VoLTE update rather than India. So think better on which is important.
I decided that dual SIM is important and so switched from Honor 7 to 5X. It depends on your priority on what you need.
Also you can try one plus 3T which is gonna release soon with better RAM and custom ROM support (Unless you prefer camera).

I think you dont know what he meant.
We have just a widget to fast lock our phone.
Double tap to lock gives you option to unlock/wake up the phone even if phone sleeps.
Exciting but I'm pretty sure it won't come to Honor 8!

This is the list of phones Huawei says they are going to update to 5.1
Huawei Mate 9
Huawei Mate 8
Huawei P9
Huawei P9 Plus
Huawei Glory V8
Huawei Glory 5C
Huawei Glory 6X
Huawei G9 Plus
If this changes and they do decide to update the honor 8 I wouldn't count on it anytime soon. I mean we just got EMUI 5 update so I'd say if we do get it, it will probably be at least 6 months or more before we will see anything.

This can't be accurate. Where did you get this information? Huawei promissed that Honor is getting updates for 2 years. Breaking this promise would be outrageous. I'm expecting to see 5.1 before summer.
