Faint background images stuck on screen, arrows etc used as sat nav - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) Questions & Answers

Hi, just bought a j3 6 2016 model, looks mint not a scratch anywhere. Done a reset and didn't notice until someone pointed it out, there's faint images round the edges and middle of the screen. The guy i bought it off is a taxi driver and must've used it as a sat nav because that's what the images are. There's arrows around the edge and a circle then in the middle it's like when a newspaper's ink smudges or is double printed. I saw it earlier but it didn't register as anything wrong like it was part of the setup. When pointed out i realized it was there all the time.
The phone works fine, no errors but it would be a problem if i wanted to sell it which is why i bought it. £25 can turn into £75 if everything was alright!
I actually don't think it was there before doing a factory reset.
Is there any way of getting rid of it without replacing the screen? I didn't think having the same app on constantly would burn an image of it onto the screen.
Thanks for any help.

Screen/backlight problem

I opened my Htc uni to find a Grey blob in the top left conner (landscape mode). when the backlight is off it looks fine except that its really hard to see the screen.lol. so i don't think it's lcd bit of the screen.
oh and if looked at the right way it is posable to the screen but only just.
any idea's short of buying a new screen would be great. thanks guys.
Any thing at all freeze it. spin it in a upwards wards fashion.
i will try any thing. or even just where i might get a "cheep" replacement.
ps i think its getting worse.
oh and i think i know what happened
got into my sisters car and couldn't fit (the seat is pulled all the way forward)
and i think it was the getting squashed agents the staring wheel that did it.

Xperia screen doesn't work...

I'm so pissed now because I dropped my three days old xperia and not only it left some scratches, screen does not turn on.
It worked when I turned it back on after the drop but now it doesn't anymore.
Screen does change from black to very dark blue when powered on but that's it.
I tried hard reset it by pressing the two silver buttons and power button(soft reset button) but it doesn't change anything. All I see is four purple lights blinking at each corner...
Is there anything else I can try?
btw, I'm using the X1i in USA...any good repair shop in austin tx?
Xperia Screec doesn't work ...
Hi,
I have exactly the same prolem as you. Dropped my Xperia and the creen doesn't work - aside froma dim, dark blue colour. I am so annoyed because I love this phone.
I was curious to know whether you had sorted the problem out and if so, exactly what you did.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I am in the UK
I had the same problem a week ago. I dropped the phone (it was in a case) and the screen stopped working. Gave it to SE and they returend it to me today. I never told them I dropped the phone, i just said the screen stopped working. They got it replaced for me free of cost in the Warranty. Though the drop has caused the rear housing to crack a little and i am having problem removing and inserting the stylus. Its a bit hard than before. Also the Memory card refuses to come out. They said i would need a new rear housing which would cost be around US$ 40 for a new one. That will also get rid of my cracks under the volume button and all.
dropped mine once, screen went funny like yours, reset it, then all was fine.
I dropped mine, it took a really bad bounce on concrete, phone seems to still work but now there is a really nasty dent in the foil silver trim along the outside on one of the corners. Anyone have a guess as to how much it would cost if I were to send it in for repair to Sony?
Any1 with any info about the TS problem? Im having the same trouble.
UPDATE
Ok. So I figured I'd flash back to genericROM and stock SPL. However w/o any screen its kinda hard to figure out if I did everything right..
So my question is: Can you tell somehow what SPL your device has? in RUU perhaps?

HTC Trophy Screen Defect

I've noticed a defect on my screen, it looks like a watermark, as if the glass hasn't been coated correctly.
I took the phone back to the shop today and swapped it for another which has the same issue (although not so severe). It's most noticable when the screen is off in bright light.
I'm waiting for new stock to arrive Friday but in the meantime has anyone else noticed this problem?
Nope. Everything fine here. (Or at least I can't find anything )
Ah great, I was thinking it was just me.
I can see it in mine too, around the borders of the glass and especially around the windows button. It mostly shows up when there's fingerprints on the glass, you can see a distinct lighting change around the affected areas.
I'll try to get a picture of it.
Ah ok, found it.
But I don't think that this is a defect or sth.,
My guess: These areas lipophobic? Maybe there was some glue on it? Some you won't see any fingerpints on these areas. This would eplain why you can't see them when there are no fingerprints on the screen.
No big deal for me tough.
I don't think it's glue. It looks like a screen coating.
I've tried removing it with both isopropyl alcohol and thinners and neither would touch it.
I thought it was a plastic cover to peel off - but no
Me too, I thought it was a plastic cover to peel off - but no it does not peel off, i have air gaps under the edges on 3 sides - and the largest is under the htc screen logo :-(
Me too - one long finger top left and some other places bottom and side
pretty sure its some sort of glue residue - you can feel a slight change in resistance
can see it easily by blowing on glass - seems to resist condensation
looks just like screen has been given a quick wipe to clean and they've missed a couple of bits top and bottom.
tried screen wipes and opitcal wipes but no effect
Me too
Recieved mine yesterday, immediately noticed the effect. All along the bottom by the buttons, and along the the left hand side.
Looks like 2 layers didn't completely bond perhaps? The glass and whatever provides the black background.

me as well, ill upload a video of mine in half an hour, its pretty bad on mine, most of the time it isn't visible. and yeah resistance on that area is different when i rub my thumb hard over the screen it is smooth, but over those droplet like parts there is friction..im guessing that most of my screen is coated and those bits are mistakenly not.
(i thought it was the other way round before)
VIDEO OF SCREEN DEFECT-VIMEO
Same issue here - like an air bubble just beneath the surface of display. My device is slightly affected across the top edge, which is not so bad, but there is a large blob just below the windows key along the bottom edge which is a little distracting. Shame it looks like HTC shipped with such a widespread product defect, as this appears it could be.
Am also finding GPS very flaky - location services more often then not just don't work.
Still, very impressed with WP7. Think HTC could do better ... am wondering what the Samsung is like and what the Venue Pro will be like. Tempted to switch!
same issue here. seems all devices have this feature ...
ps: today in the office i checked again the screen and found out that you can find this bubbles around the screen everywhere. seems it reacts on humidity. strange ...
I've been back to the Vodafone store today as they had received new stock. Both handsets we looked at had the same issue.
The manager at the store said that HTC were going to be issuing a recall and that they were aware of the problem.
I am awaiting a call regarding an alternate replacement.
Ok for me!
same here, especially around bottom left corner, around the left arrow.
I noticed when you wipe the screen hard it disappears, but after a few touches of the screen it appears again.
I wrote to the HTC also and waiting for the reply :
same here - allaround the screen

My screen is ok. Well, not really oké. Since they didn't put a slcd on it, but a worser screen... Luckily no bubbles. I checked it 1000s times in all kind of lights and darknesses and with and without finger prints. But no bubbles here.
Same problem !!!
I have the same Problem (Austria, A1)

Replacement screen bottom 1/4th of screen unresponsive. Need help!

Hey guys so earlier this year I dropped my phone and the screen cracked. I ordered an lcd + digitizer from ebay and installed it myself. Everything had been working fine for a couple weeks but then randomly one day I woke up and the bottom 1/4th of the screen didnt work. Also, my screen is not very secure onto the device. I can peel off the lcd if I desired. I put double sided tape on all the places that a guide showed me but the screen just doesn't seem to stay in which causes dust and other particles to get in between my screen. Could this be the problem?
Some things i forgot
This started off with only a small portion of the bottom part of my screen to stop working. But then it turned into my whole bottom 1/4th of the screen not working. However, the first time this happened, I fiddle with the screen since it comes off and just moved it around and the bottom 1/4th worked again. However the problem reoccurred and I can't seem to fix it this time.
Thanks for any help!
Edit: Forgot to mention that I tried to open the phone again and press down on the digitizer pins to make sure they were secure. Still didnt work
sorry for posing this as it offers no solution
but just to say i have the same situation on a nexus 5.. came compete with frame.. worked for a week then bottom 1/2 inch stopped working
My upper 1/4th of the screen stopped working... Seems to be like a fairly common issue with the LG G2 and some cases appeared all of a sudden without drops or water, some other with a bit of liquid or slight drop to the floor.
In my case I think it was due to excessive moisture when I used the phone while sweating profusely.
A screen replacement is at hand right after I get my smartwatch

xt1585 vertical lines

Im getting a used phone this week for 50.00 fully functional. Will the lines in the pic i provided cause any problems as long as I dont drop it? They are to the far right. Has anyone used there phone this way with no problems? Update!!! I got my phone but looks like water bubble right hand corner. See pic also that is where the lines are. But phone is fully functional. When I touch the screen where it's shaded it will go away then come back. Any ideas. Could be under the layers of protection not sure which of the 5
