S8 backup to Iphone - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi everyone,
I changed my device recently and after few years with Samsung I decided it's time to go back to Iphone.
I sold my S8 before I got the new device and I'm wondering now whether I can transfer my backup from my computer to my Iphone X.
I know there is a software to do this with backup form Kies, but mine was made with Smart Switch, so I need something else.

New Guy

Hey guys, im new to these forums and actually joined before i got this phone but thanks to yall i bought it knowing that id be able to customize it more than necessary(if there is such a thing). But as i read the instructions of flashing the ROM i got worried about losing my contacts. I have already synced my phone with my computer and in the event that it wipes the data off my phone, will the data that i synced on my computer refill that lost data on my phone???
Also, i dont have a microSD card yet but i wanted to know if i should go with an 8GB right off the bat or with a 4GB since i need an updated driver for 8?

Sync will keep your data but I prefer PIM backup it offers a more comprehensive backup...if you can afford 8GB get it. You can always install any fixes needed to use it, but if you only get a 4 you'll regret not getting more.
PIM backup? Where can i get this?
Also, where is the update for 8GB?
Thanks for any help guys...
Go right to the 8Gig, I bought a 6Gig and wish I had the extra two right now. If you are a sprint user and are going to upgrade the ROM chances are the ROM you upgrade to already has the SDHC drivers in it, or even the ROM that is on the phone has them already. If all else fails search for something like SDHC.dll that should return some useful results. I would sync w/ your pc, and use PIM back up, it's always better to be safe...search on here for PIM, or backup..I think it is one of the first threads in the "Development" section...
PIM Backup....Here you go...

The backup program they are talking about is free and it rocks. If you need help flashing, etc, this is the place.
Welcome aboard.
Thanks alot guys, i wanna flash mine but i have Verizon and not Sprint.

I accidentally change the actual phone number of two phones.Need help

A few days ago, my elder sister insisted me to recover her accidentally deleted pictures in her phone. I researched a bit on internet and by an app called "kingo" I rooted the Samsung Galaxy S4. At my first try, it gave me the error something like "rooting failed" .Then I tried again and this time it said that rooting succesfull.I also installed SG Mass Storage Enabler and BusyBox.I tried to enable Mass Storage Mode by using SG Mass Storage enabler but Windows seems like recognizing it for a few second then the drive letter(and name) of phone in Windows Explorer dissappears.I think it may be related to that SG Mass Storage Enabler can only export sd-card and not internal memory of a phone(I was not aware if the phone had a sd card or not before running SG Mass Storage Enabler and then opening the back cover of the phone to be sure if it had a sd card, but it didn't have)
We found a recovery app which runs on Android and I tested a few pictures, seems like it can recover many of the deleted pics in my elder sister's phone.
But now we have a different problem.I am not sure about the cause but today my mother discovered that her actual phone number(SIM card's phone numbers) changed to my elder sister's phone(which I rooted) numbers. When we call my elder sister's phone number,my mother's phone rings.I think my elder sister's phone number changed too though I didn't test if it changed to my mother's number or other because I don't want to call possibly a stranger.
Is it possible that rooting my elder sister's phone changed the actual phone number of her phone and my mother's phone(maybe swapped the phone numbers)?A much less possibility I think but my elder sister's baby sometimes play with my mother's phone(she randomly touches the screen of the phone),maybe she did something which changed the number but it maybe impossible I don't know. How can I return the numbers back?
Have you tried switching sim cards? As far as I know, you cannot change the sim card's programmed phone #.

Thanks for your answer I thought the same thing actually, no one at the home accepts that they changed the simcard. Then I remembered that it is not possible to open the back of my mother's phone so I thought it's not possible to change the simcard.
But after seeing your answer, I decided to be sure and looked at my mother's phone's e-manual and saw that although you can't open the back of the unit , still you can change the simcard. I will try changing simcards like you said, tomorrow because my mother's phone is in my parents' room and they are sleeping now.
One note, I can still run my elder sister's phone using the same password, but maybe my mother's sim card uses the same password too I'm not sure,we'll see.
As far as I know only the network carrier can transfer phone numbers to other sim cards. You should talk to your carrier and see what's up.
take a look in the contacts list on each phone, rather ask your sister and mother. do they have their same list of contacts as before or are those swapped too ?
Contacts nowadays are stored on the phone, rather than the sim, so I don't think the lists could be swapped.

but if the sims were swapped the new contacts would be imported.
Thanks for your answers.
Today I heard something which I was not aware , from my mother. She said that a few days ago my father took his phone and my mother's phone to a carrier's dealer ( or Samsung's dealer) to upgrade phones from 3g to 4g. She said that my father told them to keep the same phone numbers. But seems like they did something wrong and now my mother's phone have the number of my elder sister's phone, but elder sister's phone seems like it has no phone number now (or maybe has a number which we don't know).
I think my father should go back to the carrier's dealer

Android Pay - not working in any custom ROMs? Feedback please...

Hello guys,
I have tried about 6 different ROM's and even after UNROOTING my Note 4, Android Pay does not work.
It works fine with my wife's Sony Xperia z3 mini with the same bank details etc... so it isn't the bank!
Whenever I try on my Note 4, the shop tells me it failed and said I should try another card. On my phone, the lockscreen pattern comes up, even when my phone is already unlocked. (This should not happen for purchases under £30)
Any luck anyone, what ROM do you use? Rooted or un?
Cheers
Mark

Mobile data issues?

I had a Huawei Tribute 3 that i made run on Tracfone, then a while later i upgraded and got a Samsung Galaxy S4. Since the sim card is the same type, i just took it out of the Huawei and put it in the S4. Everything works fine on the S4 except there is no mobile data. Mobile data works good if it is in the Huawei, but not the S4. Any ideas? Any help will be appreciated. Kind of annoying not being able to send MMS messages. If it helps at all, if i take the battery out, it says "TracFone wireless" on the white sticker with the model number and stuff on it. Thanks!
