Hello guys,
I have tried about 6 different ROM's and even after UNROOTING my Note 4, Android Pay does not work.
It works fine with my wife's Sony Xperia z3 mini with the same bank details etc... so it isn't the bank!
Whenever I try on my Note 4, the shop tells me it failed and said I should try another card. On my phone, the lockscreen pattern comes up, even when my phone is already unlocked. (This should not happen for purchases under £30)
Any luck anyone, what ROM do you use? Rooted or un?
Cheers
Mark

Hi All....Firstly I apologise if I'm putting this thread in the wrong section but as a novice please forgive me...
I am thinking of buying the N700 from panamoz.com as it's cheap but they have said there units are imported from the far east and there for cannot guarantee if they will work in the UK...
so my questions to the forum are:
1. If a phone is unlocked wouldn't it work if I put a T-mobile sim in it?
2. as the phone is shipped in from the Far East some Eng(UK) apps won't , work or be available in English UK...if not is there a way to configure the phone for them to work...?
3. Would I need to Install Mobile phone specifics configurations in order for the note to work??
Thanks for your help in advance..
Neil
1. If it is factory unlocked then you should have no trouble using your UK T-Mobile SIM in it.
2. I don't see why any app wouldn't work on it, never encountered such an issue with any Android device I've used. If you do get issues then there's always custom roms .
3. You may have to set up the APN settings if you keep the stock foreign ROM, but that is easy and takes a couple of seconds with a single Google search. Of course custom roms generally have huge APN lists built in and would have your necessary configuration.
Hope that helps.

Remember to make sure it is an N7000 and note an I9220. They are different, albeit slightly.
My brother bought for me a Galaxy note 10.1 from Globe carrier when he was being in Phillipine, and it was unlocked. This tablet still worked well until I take its sim card out, and use it for my 3G USB. This USB seemed to be broken down, so that my computer was frozen every time I plug it in. I put my sim back into galaxy note 10.1, and a problem occurred. My Note 10.1 cannot register on network even I see a full signal bar; meanwhile, a notification showed that "the selected network is unavailable". When I try to make a call, it's appeared to be "Not registered on network". At first, I think this problem can simply solved by changing the sim card, but the real tragedy is that this problem continue occur regardless how many sims I buy from many different network providers. Those sims still work on other devices, hence this error certainly is from my tablet. Its firmware is stock 4.1.1 and rooted, I have tried to solve this error by reset factory, unroot, change to another rom, but they're all useless.
When I visited Samsung service center, they told me that my note was relocked. Would anyone mind showing me how to unlock it again:laugh:
Sorry for my bad English! Thank you one million time:highfive:
May be you should flash some other rom which is not region locked like German, again very few users have a locked note so doubt you will get an answer over here
A suggestion try note 2 or S3 forum they are built similarly see if you can find a post on how to unlock it I am pretty sure it will work on this to (Warning dont flash S3 or Note 2 rom )
Hi there,
I have an odd situation. I need to buy a couple unlocked S4s with the intention of only using them on WiFi. I work for a research company, and we just need them to test out some of the new fancy features. We have no need for cell or data service.
The only unlocked ones are astronomically priced, which is fine, but I need to make certain that we'd be able to use them on WiFi. Do they still need activated or something, or will they just power on like normal and just display "No SIM" up top?
My concern is that they'll boot up into a setup screen that won't let me advance without some sort of active SIM card. The only point of comparison I have is when we did this with some unlocked iPhone 5s, we still had to get them dummy activated at the Apple Store.
Thanks!
hello all,
well i had my nexus 4 crap out on me over the weekend ( i am on tmobile). friend of a friend was selling an unlocked Galaxy S4 (SPH-L720). looks like it was originally a sprint phone. if i turn it off and then back on i get the sprint splash screen. it is running on 4.4.2 and everything is working fine and dandy. i have my t mobile sim card in it and it works --calls--emails--everything. i did have to download a voice mail app to get voice mail notification icon working but other than that- works great!
i did download an app to check check if it was rooted ( root basic i believe it was called). phone shows it wasnt rooted. which leads me to believe it was sim unlocked. i do apologize as i am a noob at this --- but does the phone need to be rooted to do this? also i highly doubt it was carrier unlocked--so my main question is --- if there is an android update in the near future and i do update -- will it brick the phone? are there any updates i should stay away from as to not mess the phone up as it works great for now.
thanks.
I have a SM-G903W phone (Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo Canada version). It was a replacement phone I got for free from my dad who is on Rogers. He bought a new phone and used it and gave me the replacement phone. I assumed it was locked to Rogers and called them for the unlock code but they wouldn't give it to me because the replacement phone had never been on their network, and they have a 90 day policy. There's a local tech shop that offered unlocking services, so I had it done there. It worked great in different countries.
I recently moved to the states and the phone worked fine for a week under UltraMobile/T-Mobile. Then somehow one morning I turned on the phone and it was saying "Invalid SIM, enter sim network unlock pin". The phone somehow locked itself again! I called the tech shop I used in Canada and they gave me the unlock pin for my phone. I entered it and it said "Network unlock request unsuccessful". Now, I've read on this site that even with the correct pin this error can sometimes come up, and there's a bunch of dial codes people posted. None of them work for my phone, they were all written for Galaxy S5 or Galaxy S4. I haven't found anyone address this issue on the S5 Neo.
I asked the tech shop what I can do and they said if I bring it in to their store they can hard unlock it for me, but I'm not going back to Canada for a couple of months. I haven't found any local unlock stores here except one which wanted $100 for it, and the store seemed sketchy. I called Rogers to see if I can get an unlock code from them, maybe it'll be different, but they claim my IMEI isn't in their database! I'm not sure how that can be (see next post)
What can I do? I don't have any custom roms installed, although I rooted the phone in an attempt to get it unlocked again. It's running Android 6.0.1
Update: I purchased from Rogers the unlock code, and they gave me the same one the tech shop gave me...there goes $50. On the bright side I've confirmed I have the right unlock code, but the phone still says "Network unlock request unsuccessful". Would flashing a stock rom help?
EDIT: I flashed a stock rom and it didn't help (used MTA-G903WVLU1BPF1-20160602043310), 6.0.1. I don't suppose a 5.x version would do much difference?
Hi I have had similar experience with network unlock and generally I find that the original stock firmware will work so yes I imagine that the 5.x will help
Hi,
