Remember tAgenda?
http://www001.upp.so-net.ne.jp/kohgo/index_en.html
I used this on my old Pocket PC running 2002 or 2003.
It won't work on WM5...does anyone know of another program that does what tAgenda does?
If you never used it, it lists the next X number of days or X number of appointments on your today screen. Very cool.
Calender +
I preferred tagenda though
There are couple SW can do this. I was using tAgenda before but it has an annoying small bug (Today refresh issue on 2003SE). After some trial I choose PocketBreeze. you can download at http://www.sbsh.net
the other SW is SPB Diary (http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com)
tAgenda is way better than calendar +. Pocket Breeze is no freeware...
Eagerly waiting for a wm5 version of tAgenda.

I guess nothing that costs (even a little) is worth the price?
I'm sorry but that is retarded. If the only complaint you have about a product is that it costs $10.00 then why waste the effort complaining?
I'm sure your phone wasn't freeware.
I've been a loyal user of PocketBreeze for 8 months now, the best $10 I ever spent. I like it so much I also bought PocketWeather and iLauncher from them.
I also spent money on MS Voice Command and HandySwitcher from DinarSoft. Yes I know I could have stole MS Voice Command from any number of sites and there are many free task switchers but I felt the programs were worth the expense.
Now as a single father raising two teenage daughters on one salary I don't have money to throw around but I do recgonize value when I see it.
BTW, most freeware authors appreciate and request contributions if you find their efforts useful. Maybe tAgenda will not be ported to WM5 because not enough users felt they should thank the guy for his hard work...
yeah, tAgenda was great! I use dit on my Magician and tried to contact the writer a few times through email to ask him how version 1.2 in English was coming along, based on his statement on the website that he was working on it. I also asked him about WM5, but he never answered any of my emails. I think he stopped the project and the site still exists without him knowing. Shame really, I now use SPB Diary, nice app, but TAgenda was almost as good and much, much smaller.

Hey Buddy, thanks for the "morality-trip", but really there was no need for you to get so upset... I was just pointing to another difference between the softwares.
Take good care of your daughters (I also have 3 kids) and don't forget to teach them that some things in life can be dealt with with humor and lightness
I'm using pocketb and I think it is the better one among others, including calendar+.
One of the many things that I don't like about calendar+ is that, if you have appoinments/tasks tomorrow, it will stil show you the date, not the word "Tomorrow", hence, to avoid not being prepared for the tasks tomorrow, you would have to check the date today to reliase that it is tomorrow.
It seems that tAgenda is having the same style. Probably someone should let the author know about this.
I kinda got this habbit of looking for the word 'Tomorrow' when I was using my Palm and it kinda sticked into me. Palm's agenda is good. The eqv one in PPC I think, would be PocketBreeze + Informant

I'll apologize here if my small rant offended anyone. One of things I like about this site is the lack of Warez, Keygens & the like. I was trying to keep from being too preachy, maybe simply using the word 'retarded' (to describe the concept of not wanting to pay for any software) just set a bad tone for the rest of the post.
This forum is full of many good people united in the common goals of taking control of our devices to maximize their value in our lives. It is a shame that a few bad users can leave a foul taste in one's mouth. I just need to stay away from the thread about 'Desperate for some GAMES' becuase there have been several KeyGens posted there.
One thing that is great about WM5 software is that unlike Smartphone (Symbian etc) software you're not tied to the IMEI of your phone. I have several program that were purchased when I was using my SX-66 (the SBSH programs and MS Voice Comand) which moved to my Wizard.
Happy Mobile Computing!!!

No prob my friend. I think being here on that great forum means we all share the same values.

Hi guys,
I decided to share with you my thoughts about Samsung Galaxy S.
Historicaly, in the last 2 years I owned HTC Tyt'n 2, iPhone 3GS, HTC HD2, and now Galaxy S.
Out of all these devices I have to recognise that the iPhone wad the most user friendly phone I ever have. Unfortunatly the fact my local cellular company doesn't sell it so after a re-softing to 3.1.3 I had to sell it....
I took HD2 because at that moment of time Galaxy S was not available. When it become available in Romania, last week, I quiqly buy it.
And now...... I am totaly dissapointed!
1. I can not use the embeded email client for Exchange and Yahoo accounts.
2. I had to serch and to install a separate Exchange email client, Moxier. It's ok but it has some limitations;
3. I installed the Yahoo email client from Android Market, but simply I can not use it!!! If I open it the CPU is going to 100% and the phone is working ver slow. So practicaly I can not check my Yahoo emails;
4. When I open for the first time an application, I wait arround 15 seconds!?! I saw on the forum that this is normal..... Strange.
And I can continue.....
What's wrong with this phone? My impression is that, simply it is not prepared for mass market delivery! Samsung doesn't care about their customers and it hurry up to launch it.
I saw how Apple react at the anntena signal issue.... Big difference! Samsung doesn't care that Google launch Android 2.2! How can they wait for launching it on their phones, when they have so big troubles? And we are speaking about the highest end phone in their portofolio.
I am still patient, but if I continue to have issues in my daily staff using the phone I 'll change it.
What do you think?
Thanks
Mircea

With the 2.2 Update, it's only barely come out officially. While its likely true that developers would have had internal builds to test out on, they only now have their solid base. You can see this with the desire being close to having it's froyo update to come out soon - looks like that we are going to be about a month or two past that.
I'm not dissapointed with this phone, love the interface so far, and the thought samsung put into things like divx playback.
I am a bit let down by not having it an easily to use device for development though.
For your mail woes, maybe you didn't do enough research.
It's common knowledge that only Froyo brings in Exchange support. There will be other apps, but until Froyo, there won't be any official google support.
For POP/IMAP (which'll be your Yahoo, Gmail and probably your Exchange if you ask your IT Support nice enough), look at K-9 Mail. It's fantastic. It's taken from the original mail client android comes with and built ontop, with things like IMAP IDLE (push) and some other very nice features.
My Galaxy S is simply fantastic, yes i have noticed a few slow-down issues, which i wasn't expecting, but the Samsung guys are working hard to fix them i'm sure, as are the hacker community here on XDA.
One thing i have noticed, where i am in London, i haven't seen a single advert for the Galaxy S. However they are selling really well, and getting very good feedback. I'm convinced Sammy did this to release the device, iron out the wrinkles, then attack it with Marketing. The hackers have already got the device running faster than a Nexus One with Froyo on it, with a slightly modded 2.1. Imagine what 2.2 will be like.
Simply amazing phone, don't regret choosing it over the Desire a single bit.
And FYI, Apples initial reaction to the Antenna issues were appauling, 'Don't hold it like that', is not the response you expect from one of the big 3. They are only now 'patching' the issue with a free rubber band, instead of actually fixing it.
You should try out k9. It's so much faster than the crappy stock email client. UI is good. You can refresh all mail account instead of having to do it one by one as in the stock. You an set up yahoo account whereas stock mail can't. There is a select all button for mass deletion, mark read, or mark unread, which is great. Performance is still slow compared to iPhone's but is way better than the stock. I also like the gesture feature to move from mail to mail like one would in viewing pictures. Try it. You might like it.
You may need a task killer as the phone multitasks really well, please consider that the phone will be like %150 better when froyo comes and for me this phone is a beast already

Yup yup yup, my experience is exactly the same as yours ...i also could not attache files on the email client program, although there is button that says 'attach files".
Yup it took long time for the email to start and download the emails....and everything else is slowed down.....
After having some more issues with the phone and the crappy GPS system.... i opened the map program and the gps initially showed my position on the map and as i moved , it didnt track my position, so after traveling more than 60km, i was still in my original position....
i just got fed up and sold the phone.....
everything about this phone hardware wise, the screen, big internal memory, 720p video recording, iphone style app browsing are very good, but when the basic function is as flawed as this, it just doesnt cut it....
K9 can attach files though. Just drop the stock mail client and half your problems are gone.
Huh?
Samsung Galaxy S doesn't support Exchange accounts???
Yes it does, I have one setup right here!
Do you guys have different firmware????
I cant help but to look a little suspiciously at some of the threads that have been started lately. There are a couple things that need to be fixed but the problems are not nearly has huge as they are made out to be. Not once did i have to wait 15 seconds for an ap to open. In fact after installing autokiller on the stock firmware the phone has been great with the excepton of the gps. The gps usually gets a lock quickly but it often loses connection for about 15 seconds or so making it impractical to use as a turn by turn solution. Driving for 60 miles with no lock is ridiculous, you are making things up or your phone is broken.

I agree Dakine, note how he did once have an iphone. There is already a thread started for the iphone fanboys attacking the Samsung Galaxy.
Yes i have a few issues with my phone, only minor ones but you show me an absolutely perfect smartphone without one glitch and i guess we can then shut XDA down and all buy that one. It ain't gonna happen
I reckon someone's got an iphone 4 and because they can't use it they spend their time trolling other phone users with ridiculous remarks like 15 seconds to open an app?? i can choose to fire up any app and i don't wait no more than 6 seconds. Use a task killer to clean up the back ground and that time drops even further. Even with the problems i am still totally happy with this phone
Either someone had a very faulty phone which is possible (in which case send it back) or you have an iphone 4 on the desk (not in your hand because it won't work )
Maybe hire goons from iphone.
How well did apple handled the signal issues? first they start by telling you that you are holding it wrong. Then until more fact comes out that the problem are design defects they decided to offer users cheap case rather than refunds.

yeh, i had no probs setting up my Exchange account straight out of the box.
Hello guys,
I see that finally I succeded to open your interest with my thread. I already opened 2 thread regarding my issues but I got few answers.
It seems that, speaking about iPhone in this Forum, everybody become a litle bit nervos.
Anyway answering to kcharng and stickfinger I am not an iPhone boy or something simillar. I spent some money for Galaxy S! Do you think I am stupid to spend money senseless!?!?!
Anyway I got some hints from thes answers:
1. Obviously Galaxy S has an issue with the Exchange client. What I don't understand is why some phone's are working without any problem (I have coleagues which own GAlaxy S working with this feature) and other not! What can be different....
2. I will try K9 email client. I see that it has good referencies;
3. I will start to use an Auto Task Killer program. Now I am using Advanced Task Killer but it seems it is not so eficient. Can I get some referencies about an Auto Task Killer program and how this is working?
And one more thing: finally these devices should help you in your job and also bring you more fun, and not bringing you all the time issues to be solved....
I can not belive that, related to Exchange client, an Windows Mobile 6.5(which finally is a ****ty OS....) can work so easily with any email server!!!
Thanks guys for your answers,

Been using my sgs for a month now, and love it. Just rooted it and been using launcher pro from day one. Also a good task killer makes a big dif. Using it for sat nav have been a pleasure aswell. No signal problems here.
Using the app called auto memory cleaner. Works out of the box.

I have had the Galaxy S (vibrant) about three days, but have used it a lot.
First, as a behold 2 owner, I know that Samsung is a crappy company when it comes to support. If you are not willing to root and play with your phone, then I would def not go with Samsung. That said, they also make their phones the hardest to root. As I am sure the developers on this site are figuring out if they hadn't already.
I did decide to purchase this because of the phone already being rooted, I figured the community would have froyo on it within a month or two. Either way, I really like this phone.
I have not had any of the issues posted. A tad bit of lag when opening games, but other than that, even apps load instantly.
In short:
Samsung = Crap
Galaxy S = Best phone out with horrid customizations to android and firmware altogether.
I'd advise you not to base your opinion upon the expirience with the samsung galaxy i7500.
Since it's release, samsung already released 3 firmware updates, IN ONE MONTH.
They're working very hard to change their poor public image about software support.
I think it'd be wise to see what diraction this is going in before starting to judge them, and especially before stating stupid stuff like "Samsung=Crap"
regarding Exchange... i have a windows mobile phone, and not even itself works all that great with exchange
ironically enough, if i use gmail as my exchange server, everything works wonderfully.
now back to SGS, i'm quite confortable with K9 it works just fine and i can attach files
i think what you need to do, is to configure the "lagfix" that people has been talking about, that will solve half of your problem regarding speed
i'll also suggest to upgrade to the latest firmware
Omfg fed up of reading this bull
Hi guys,
Thanks for the hint with K9. It's exactly what I need for my acciunts from Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail.

From Evernote Blog:
Evernote Now Integrated Into the Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Evernote’s goal is to help people around the world remember everything on every device that they use. Over the years, it’s been inspiring to see the range of smart products that have come to the market that incorporate Evernote, from phones and tablets to cameras and refrigerators.
Today, we’re very excited to announce a new partnership with Samsung that will deeply integrate Evernote into the core note taking capabilities of the popular Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Now, all S Note users will get the benefit of immediate note synchronization from their Samsung mobile device to every other device and computer where Evernote is installed. Like all notes in Evernote, they’ll instantly become searchable, can be tagged for quick organization and shared with others.
In addition, Evernote will offer S Note users increased monthly capacity to accommodate all of their notes, images and files.
Over the past several years, Samsung has continually created new and unexpected products that enhance the lives of consumers. We’re excited to be working with such an innovative and forward-thinking company.

Do you think that we'll see Note 8.0 S-note integration in the near future ?
I would most certainly think so. Seems to me that Evernote will (sort of) replace (or enhance) functionalities of S-Note and I couldn't see why this shouldn't work on other S-Pen-devices.
Probably we might have to wait somewhat longer though.

I don't think it would be wise of Samsung to not include the feature for other S-Pen-devices. There are lots of people who use a note II (and soon note 3) as their phone AND the Note 8 or 10 as their tablet. Not being able to sync between those just wouldn't make sense.

Manual sync of my Note 2 and 10.1 has screwed up all my notes. Some are even locked and I can't figure out how to unlock these. Hopefully Sammy has fixed this cross sync issues.

dropsync is one of the most essential apps i have ever used...i love it
I don't know about you guys but when I use dropSync it didn't work properly it constantly cause my snote to say syncing notes which took about a minute to finish
I was using it to sync my nose between my Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy note 10.1 but found it way too sluggish to work properly and use it as my daily driver for syncing notes between the two devices
this is why I really like the the evernote integration because not only will it sync between devices but I can sync it with my desktop as well
but curiously I haven't been able to find a single video or a tutorial on how this is supposed to work can somebody like one
I just bought the Note 3, and am a huge Evernote user so the new integration on the new version of S-Note has been awesome for me. The downside of having the Note 8.0 now is what is mentioned above. I used to use Dropsync to sync my S-Notes folders between my Note 2 and my Note 8.0. Now that the file types are different, .spd files rather than the older S-Note's .snb files, I can no longer do that. I even tried syncing S-Notes using my Samsung account hoping they would have some kind of conversion happen behind the scenes-no dice. I can view Notes created on my Note 3 (.spd) on my Note 8.0 via Evernote, or using this app I found on the Samsung App Store http://www.samsungapps.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.spdviewer , but I can no longer edit those new notes on my 8.0 due to the new file type. I'm really hoping Samsung hurries up with an update so I can have the new version of S-Note on my 8.0 and get back to my old syncing ways. If you want to know more about how Evernote is working with the Note 3, which will be the same on the new 10.1 2014 Edition, feel free to ask whatever questions you'd like. I've tested that a bunch now as well and have been happy with the results.

Hi Nate, I hope you are well and happy.
I currently use an original N7000 and in March 2014 (when my contract is up) I'll be looking to upgrade. I'll probably buy a new Galaxy note 3 as a handset (I'm in need of a new watch as well and the Galaxy Gear is a possibility) also air command looks sweet and I'm keen to try it.
I'm also hoping to buy my first tablet PC before January as I'm a motorcycling Computer Science under-grad and looking to reduce the weight I need to carry to university by leaving my 11.6 inch Acer Aspire 1825ptz touchscreen netbook at home and taking a thinner lighter tablet to lectures. I've been using Evernote for over 7 months now and love it, although I miss S-Note functionality a bit (running cyanogen 10.2-20131107-nightly-n7000 mod.) I was considering buying the 8 inch Galaxy Note but having read this thread I'm more inclined to get the 10.1 inch 2014 Note now.
I'll mostly be reading papers (.pdf) on it in the Kindle app (see attached) which I'll want to annotate as I'm reading, view powerpoint presentations in it (I use kingston office for this on my N7000 so I for see no problems with the 10.1 inch) again that I'll want to take notes onto.
I guess what I'd like to know please:
1. How exactly do the 2 apps integrate? Is it you open SNote and it's got a share to ever note option? Or vica versa? Or are they completely integrated into one app?
2. Do you think a Galaxy 3 / Gear / 10.1 inch 2014 Note is the optimal solution for the remainder of my studies and then more importantly do you think it'd be a good solution for a trainee teacher? (yrs 11 - 18)
3. Did I read somewhere that the 10.1 inch or the Galaxy 3 is going to have an IR blaster? (I could use a decent remote control)
Thanks in advance for any help / youtube review / links to relevant posts / URL's you can give.
All I want is Inking support in Evernote. The only reason I use S-Note at all is because of its default support for inking notes, but if I could use the stylus in Evernote on both my Windows 8 and Android devices, I'd be set.
Greetings from Germany!
I received my Aquaris Ubuntu phone yesterday, 19.03.2015. Needless to say I was excited but also wasn't expecting much since it's the new kid on the block.
I want to be clear that the cons that I point out only reflect my opinion and in no way should they be construed as an attack on Canonical or a diminishment on their attempts to break into the mobile space.
I've been a linux user since 2006 and an ubuntu user since version 8.04 and while I wasn't expecting much I still wanted to support Canonical's efforts by purchasing their first unit that they offered to us end users.
I was a power Android user for 4 years before I switched to the Nokia N9 for a year and then to the Blackberry Z30 for the past year. I'm partial to gesture based OSs hence why I use and enjoy BB10OS so I was stoked to learn that Ubuntu Touch is a gesture based OS.
First the pros:
1. Love the UI and the simplicity of it. Reading the Help app and swiping N,S,E,W pretty much gets you up and running.
2. Idea of Scopes and how they're implemented. When I first read about it I wasn't impressed...after seeing it in person I really like it.
3. There's just under a 1000 apps/scopes in the store and I've found quite a bit of good stuff already....travel, public transport, translate, online shopping, social, etc
Granted, alot of the "apps" open mobile versions of websites but I've also installed genuine, native apps. The mobile websites don't bother me but that is a subjective thing.
Now the cons:
1. Contacts and calendar sync is Google only...no option to set up a Carddav or Caldav servers.
2. No built in email client
In regards to #1, this is in my view a huge mistake. I made a conscious decision a year ago to completely move away from Google services. I use Memotoo for contacts and calendar. Why in god's name Canonical would make everything Google centric relegates the phone to a "neat toy". They're essentially dictating what services I have to have in order to use their product. Bewildering to say the least since this is linux. We're not talking about proprietary standards here either...Carddav and Caldav are free to use and implement. No work even needs to be done on their end as syncevolution is a finished and complete product.
Point #2, WTF are they thinking? Remember how much flak Blackberry took for not including a native client in the Playbook? Canonical should be hammered in the same way for releasing a mobile phone without email capabilities. The only options in the store are webapps for once again, Google, Yahoo and an email client, Dekko, that just offers the same thing as the webapps but is a genuine native app...however, no IMAP or POP capabilities. You can also forget about Exchange support. I think that is a pipe dream at this stage. In regards to Exchange support, I have no problem paying for this as I don't expect that to come for free.
While I wasn't expecting much and was already prepared to not have many things that I do with Blackberry I was left scratching my head with what was left out as these are very big things to leave out...these are open, non proprietary standards (Caldav, Carddav, IMAP, POP).
If you rely on google services then you'll enjoy the full experience of Ubuntu Touch and I highly recommend you take the plunge...if not, then you're left out in the cold for now. Hopefully in the next 6-12 months Canonical or the community will have these things ironed out.
For now my Ubuntu phone is going in the drawer and I'm going back to my Z30. I'm a service rep and I have to be able to call and email clients when I'm in the field and be able to email and communicate with the home office hence why I need contact sync, email and calendar support via my employer and Memotoo. Without these basic necessities the phone is useless for me.
Best Regards,

Well it is Linux, surely u can just install what you need.
personally I like using mutt for emails across all distros, but should be easy to install a arm pkg for another client you'd like or get involved with software developement?
Im not a massive fan of google but contact sync is ok since I'm coming from android.
For CardDav/Cal Dav I think somebody just needs to implement an OnlineAccounts provider for your service, the same as how the Google provider does it.
Dekko works fine with IMAP, though not POP (the core of Dekko is Trojita, which is IMAP only). It is not developed by Canonical and is currently in the middle of some pretty big changes, but ultimately it's the OEM who decides which apps to ship by default.
BTW, if you don't have it already, get the Forum Browser app to read and post here ?

thanks to snowboarder74 for this informative review.

what do you think? esp. as to the cons #1 and #2 pointed out in the original post?
Anyone know if these issues are still valid?

Sorry, we're into OTA-13 now and we still don't have it. Also, I don't think we will have a client in the near future. Some have suggested Whatsapp web but that is not the best given the ease we have as using on other platforms.
As a suggestion, you can use Telegram, which is available on almost all mobile platforms under the sun. Of course, it is up to you
Long time BlackBerry user , switched to nexus 6P yesterday. Not new to Android used years ago and my wife has been using Galaxy S6 edge for a while so familiar with Android..
Already missing the BlackBerry hub !!
Two main issues so far
Gmail app doesn't seem to get notification s for gmails. I get audible notifications for other emails, bit not gmail. Anyhow this is nowhere near how good the BlackBerry email was. I hope I don't end up spending hours looking for a good email client which is what I did years ago with Android. Can't believe after all these years Android still doesn't have a proper email client inbuilt!!
The phone itself seems too big !! I guess it's not much anyone can do at this point. Funnily enough I came from BlackBerry passport which itself was so wide but didn't feel this big. I might have to get used to it.
So far not too thrilled with the phone. Bit no major complaints either. Trying to justify myself for leaving my beloved BlackBerry!!

Unfortunately this is a current know issue. There are some threads here in the 6P forum where some have found solutions for their device but they don't seem to work for everyone.

Not being funny mate, try hand surgery
Try wiping the phone and setting it up again.. Bit of a hassle but might be worth your time!
I use inbox app for my gmail and works great. Try that and idk what to say about the device being large. I used to not be into big phones but I am now. I came from a Nexus 6 which is even bigger than the 6p. I love this device more than any I've ever owned in all my life. I've been on many flagships and every nexus ever made since android came out and they really gave us a great device this year with the 6p! You'll get used to it. Try inbox. Happy new years to everyone. Have a safe one.

There must be some issues with some settings on your phone because Gmail app is the best email client for any mobile device including iphones or blackberry.
1. First go to settings - account - google - Turn on the Sync button fot Gmail.
2. Go to Gmail-Setting-Turn on Sync Gmail
3. Go to Gmail-Setting-Manage Labels-Turn on Sync for each Labels you want to get notified.
4. Uninstall/Sign out any other email cleint you might have used other than Gmail app.
This is definitely a bigger phone but is much more easy to handle with two hands and single hand for some basic stuffs.
If you really think this phone is slippery then you can try some phone covers thin ones. Or you can go with the outer cover themes.

Yes I've checked all the settings mentioned above and they're all set to sync and notification on. Today I've been getting notifications for gmails. Not sure how long will this last. As others have mentioned this seems to be an issue with gmail app itself for some. Apparently Google development team is also aware of this. So hopefully we'll get a fix soon
