How to calibrate Force Touch on Samsung Galaxy S8 - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hello,
Since few weeks I was having problems with pressure sensitive home button on s8. It was accepting light presses and getting activated in the pocket many times. I took it to ASC and they said that they need to calibrate the Force Touch so they flashed stock rom again and calibrated the force touch.. After the calibration.. the home button worked well for days until I had reset my device from recovery. After the reset.. it again started to act weird and get activated by light press. They used their official tool i.e "Samsung Galaxy Must v2.4" tool to calibrate the force touch and test the device for water resistance after screen replacement.
As that official application is not available anywhere on the internet and it requires engineer account for web login.. Just wanted to know if there is an alternative application like that which can calibrate the force touch on s8 ?

Are you rooted?

Where'd you get that tool? Maybe I could help if I could try it.
Edit: nvm, read the whole thing.

You can adjust sensitivity in the settings

No, I am not rooted but is there such tool for rooted users ?

Yes, I am aware of that settings. Btw, that settings adjuster doesn't works correctly until the force touch is calibrated properly. If the force touch is uncalibrated, setting the home button sensitivity to lowest will also accept light presses.

There is a tool on your phone for this, but its hidden and easier to get to if rooted. Luckily for you I figured out how to do it without ?
Open up the stock dialer and dial the following, without making any mistakes, at a reasonable pace:
*#0*#
Welcome to the factory test and calibration app. Select the sensor that's bugging you and go through the treats and see if it's broken. If the tests fail, you at least know they can't claim it's fine if you send it for warranty work

Im having slightly different home button issues after a screen replacement too. Ive tried dialling that thing and done various tests but cant see any for home button.

Heya, I know about this factory test. It cannot be used for calibrating force touch I guess. In the factory test menu, there is an option called "Sub-Menu Test" which tests the pressure sensitive home button. However, it is just for testing and I tried it before almost 50 times.. it doesn't helps. All what helped me before was their "Samsung Galaxy Must" tool which calibrated the force touch and the home button worked fine until factory reset or software update. Thanks though for the help

In the stock dialer type *#0*# and when the testing menu appears, tap "Sub-menu or Sub-key test". Press your home button for testing it. Though, my home button problem was present even before screen replacement. It was not related to hardware because I found the exact same problem on some other guy's s8 whose home button accepted very light press.. just like this one :-
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/wonky-pressure-sensitive-home-button-t3601304

I am interested in this also. Samsung replaced my screen a couple months back. Since then, the home button force touch is so sensitive that it's not usable. It turns on constantly in my pocket, or just barely touching it with my little finger. The sensitivity adjustment does nothing noticeable. It worked perfectly before the screen was replaced. I sent the phone back to Samsung, with a detailed explanation and instructions to calibrate the force touch. They sent the phone back, saying it passed all diagnostic tests and did nothing. I can understand why they wouldn't want the typical user having access to this adjustment, as many would be cracking their screens if set too hard. It seems the only way to get this working again is to buy a new phone.

I have the same problem too. Could someone provide this tool? No way to find it anywhere in the net!

I have the same problem. It's not as often as the first few weeks of the replacement.

I can't believe that noone has this tool, or that there is no alternative way to calibrate force touch

The only way to get it fixed (If you have done a factory reset) is ti get it calibrated again at Samsung ASC. That software requires engineer ID to login, that's why it is not available for general use.

If you or someone can get ahold of the tool, it's quite likely that I can bypass the engineering ID requirement and upload a patched version for everyone to use that doesn't need it.

Samsung official repair tool
this tool is for authorize samsung repair centre only, i work in one of those, in order to login to this tool you need special cable, an otp code expire every 6 hours so i dont think this tool is available online
this tool can test water resistant function, reset battery cycle, bypass samsung frp with 1 click, calibrate force touch, and diagnose all thing about your samsung phone

My Wizard is randomly going NUTS - Help needed!!!

Hey all, I don't know what's causing this but since yesterday my Wizard (K-JAM) has been going crazy.
I just plugged it into my USB port a min ago to charge it (not sync) and a whole random bunch of apps opened, including IE where 'hhhhhhhhh' and 'eeeeee' were repeatedly put into the IE search box, as if the buttons were stuck (this'd happen if the keyboard was open or not)
SMS would open too, the phone panel would open and the phone would appear to be dialing random things. Including successfully dialing (by itself) "333".
The hard buttons and keyboard seem to become disabled when this happens too and will randomly start working again.
I'm running Windows Mobile 6.1 TNT Official. Has anyone else experienced this kind of stuff?
This is a real mystery and driving me nuts. Is my phone possessed?! I may try flashing with a different ROM later, although TNT *has* been working ok for the few days I've had it on here.
Ok this is really odd. I've found that when this happens and it calms down a bit (keyboard/buttons work again), I open Word Mobile and try and type.. the letters 'h' and 'e' don't work (the 2 letters that appear randomly when the phone goes crazy). I have no idea why as I can use these letters just fine when the phone's acting normal.
Right now I have Word Mobile open and the phone's typing "yyyyyyyyyyyyyy" by itself. Buttons/keyboard have stopped working but touchscreen is fine.
Gawd. :S
Edit: Wish I knew WTF was causing this. It continues even after a soft reset. This time I've rebooted it, it originally messed about but is now back to normal.
Ok, it now seems I can (temp.?) fix the hardware buttons on the front of the Wizard doing nothing by opening the keyboard and hitting something like the windows key. Then all the front buttons work again.
I notice when the buttons are disabled often hitting the middle button (inside the up/down/left/right) brings up "Align Screen" for who knows what reason.
How annoying. I'm gonna flash another ROM and see if the problems go away. (currently using latest TNT Official)
EDIT: Still some buttons (q, e, i, g, h) are no longer working. What on earth has happened here?
Right, just flashed it back down to T-Mobile 2.26 and the randomness problems seem to have gone away [EDIT: No they haven't] but I still have completly lost the use of q, e, i, g and h. I have no idea how this has happened. Last night I had a low battery (first time) and the phone started going nuts at this point, when it was under 10% charge left.
Since then it's been very random. But I charged it up overnight and the problem hasn't gone away. Some of the random stuff it was doing was typing 'hhhhh' and 'eeeeee' non-stop (2 of the buttons that no longer work) which makes me think a chipset has screwed up in some way. Keyboard backlight is on constantly. It's the sorta thing I'd expect if I dropped it in a sink of water but the phone hasn't been under any sort of shock/pressure/water/whatever since I got it last week!
I'm beyond frustrated. To top it all the MiniSD card I ordered days ago finally arrived today and it's now completly useless.
Dunno what I'm gonna do now. :S
Final Edit: Ok so it looks like it could be something up with the Wizard itself, could anyone confirm?
- The button in the centre of the joypad either 1. Acts as 'Start' or opens 'Align Screen', this is completly random. (sometimes changes on opening/closing the keyboard???)
- Either the joypad works and the Answer/Reject buttons don't or vice versa - this too is completly random.
- The Left / Right softkeys on the KEYBOARD (top left, top right) work randomly. If they are working the keyboard doesn't work, and again VICE VERSA.
- The LEDs on the call reject button / keyboard are on constantly. This only changes for a time if i mash the keyboard.
- The 5 letters mentioned previously don't work unless I mash the keyboard, in which case the Wizard will sometimes take over typing for itself and then I'm able to use the keys afterwards again. (yeah, I understand this makes absolutely no sense!)
- The Wizard will completly spontaniously start opening random stuff and typing as if keys are jammed.
I've flashed to Tmob 2.26, 3.08, WM6.1 (TNT) & WM6.1 (another cook) and have exactly the same problem. This all points towards broken hardware. I should have guessed with the amount of dents, scratches and a broken button that this poor Wizard has been through the mill a few times! Shame it had to use me as its death bed!
If anyone can recommend anything to what it might be and what I could do to fix it then please let me know.
Thanks!
Wow! You're not much for letting other people get a word in edge-wise, are ya?

Make sure you don't have Smartskey installed (look in Windows\Startup and in Program Files). If you do, uninstall it, it's been corrupted somehow.
Otherwise:
Ok, I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but I think it's just the age of these phones. They get old, they get dirty. Don't believe me? Take off your battery cover and look at the grime that's gathered at the edges. Imagine what that does to your buttons!
You need to open the case, disassemble the keyboard section (and the faceplate too, for good measure), and thoroughly clean the contacts, the buttons, etc. The further you disassemble, the cleaner you will get it. See this thread for a manual on disassembly/reassembly:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=378764
Use good quality sterile cotton swabs (no dollar store crap for this), and pure (not dyed) isopropyl alcohol. Dab the swab in alcohol, and gently scrub every inch of the contacts, the circuit board faces, and the buttons.
When that's done, wait for it to dry...and I mean as dry as a mummy fart. DRY. Inspect everything carefully, looking for loose cotton threads, debris, and most important, streaks. Streaks mean you just smeared the gunk around without picking it up. If you find cotton or debris, use canned air to remove it. DO NOT USE TWEEZERS OR OTHER METAL IMPLEMENTS TO DO THIS. If you find streaks, go back and clean it again.
Once it is both dry and clean, reassemble it and test it. You should be good to go unless there's something broken.
If neither of these things works, I would strongly urge you to consider committing a violent act on the individual who sold you the phone... you probably won't get your money back, but it might make you feel better.
Cheers, the thing has me at my wits end. Keep having to remind myself it's only a phone
Yeah it's def not Smartskey or a soft problem as I've flashed it a whole bunch of times this afternoon.
From mashing the keyboard and causing it to do different things it looks to be a hardware problem (or full of junk like you say). I grabbed the pdf manual to look through but don't feel too comfortable taking the thing apart just yet.
I just slapped it about a bit as best I could out of frustration and unbelivably it seems to have come back to it's former glory. I'm not gonna get my hopes up and expect it to stay like this though.
Yeah it was an ex-company phone from a company upgrading their stock so no refunds / replacements. I guess if the worst comes to the worst it'll go on ebay as faulty and I'll be without a little gadget I really craved! Back to my £10 Sagem for the time being.
Thanks for the reply.
My Wizard is going nuts too. Also the buttons but a bit different. Take a look here:

Hi mate, your problem sounds similar to mine. Especially about the lights (though my green light is broken and only shows occasionally - came like that). You'll probably find that when it's in that state the problems arise.
Mine screwed up again after about an hour of my last post and the keyboard barely works at all now. Mashing it / hitting it / swearing at it isn't doing any good. I've virtually given up.
I'm not sure about a CID re-lock btw, but would Vodafone bother check to see if it was CID locked or not on return?
But hey, it sounds like a hardware malfunction. Good luck with yours & keep us updated if you find any kind of resolution !

Wish I had that option myself though. I've put my Wizard up for sale in the sticky thread.
I do hope to get another one in the near future though. There's enough fun to be had to warrant another purchase soon I think.

[MOD][4.4.2-Touchscreen-Issue-Fix]

While updating and using the latest Android OS from Nvidia for the Tegra-Note, I noticed some issues with the touchscreen.
Browsing the forum I noticed other users had issues with this too
So I have released a fix for this issue
Issues fixed:
Touchscreen unresponsive
Single click -> double clicks
Touching the screen in one area while, touchscreen thinks youre touching in another area
Untested:
Using stylus and touching from edge of screen to centre loses touch focus from stylus
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader
TWRP Recovery
Installation:
Download touchscreen fix from the link below
Reboot into recovery using "adb reboot recovery" or Volume up and power button
Locate zip file and select install or "adb sideload locatetotouchscreenfixzip"
Download Link: http://d-h.st/PkX
4.2.2 or 4.4.2?
Hi Shaky, you said the latest version of Android but your title says "4.2.2" . Do you mean 4.4.2?
Like everyone else I have these pesky touchscreen issues and I am hoping you mean 4.4.2 because that's what I got.

Actually, I'm not too sure since I don't really use GPS on my tablet since I always have my mobile handy but I did give it a try this morning and I couldn't lock on to any satellites. Tegra Note 7 found 3 satellites and locked on to none. Granted I was indoors at time but comparing to my Galaxy S4, I found 21 satellites and fixed on to 7 of them. I used GPS Status to get this information. I also used Faster GPS to assign an NTP server but it didn't do much.
Hopefully that's helpful, maybe people who have tested this extensively will chime in soon to point you in the right direction.
thanks! this has really been bugging me lately
Post your feedbacks guys ! Does this works 100% if we are in plam rejection mode and we slide our finger from left or right side of the screen does it reads it as stylus ?
what exactly does this "fix" do? It would be nice if there was a description of the actual functionality and how its achieved. Right now, i have no idea if this is going to help me with my absolutely horrible palm rejection, and poor stylus performance issues, or help people who are having ghost clicks, or if its going to help the end swipe people, or the people who randomly have no touch responsiveness. Looking at the archive, it looks like you're writing new firmware, is this just simply the firmware from 4.2.2? or did you modify it in some way to fix the problems that are current. A little transparency would be awesome here, im not sure whether to try and contact evga, or just throw this piece of crap against the wall and cut my losses.
*edit* if i seem abrasive, im really sorry. The camels back broke tonight, and im literally seething. I expected better from nvidia. Either I can't believe there are either so many stupid people in the world, or Im the idiot who did all my updates right out of the box, and don't know what im missing. If it can be better than this, i want THAT experience.

Op updated. Take your complaints to EVGA, or nvidia, not me. I have simply provided a fix for touchscreen issues.
Shaky, as i said, not directed at you. I'm just frustrated. I'm directing them directly at the forum where other people who had my frustration may have found a solution. I mean, its a forum right? Your fix unfortunately has not helped in my case, perhaps I have bad hardware. Having unlocked to try your fix im sure nvidia and evga are likely out of the question, but I'm resigned to just using this as a 7" e reader.
Thanks for replying back to the thread anyway.

I've had a couple of days or so to test this now. First off, this mod doesn't seem to be a 100% fix yet. But, I have to say that the responsiveness of the touchscreen is improved when it DOES work.
The problem that still occurs the touchscreen becomes unresponsive for some seconds still, particularly if I come from a resource taxing app (e.g. a game or something), I close the screen and open it again. The screen becomes unresponsive when I key in the PIN, for example, I'd key '1', it won't respond, so I'd key '1' again, still nothing so I repeat then finally the touchscreen responds by keying in a million '1's' lol. So usually, I have to type my PIN really slowly to give the touchscreen time to detect my presses. Usually, I'd have to reboot to get proper touchscreen responsiveness.
I still have a problem with the stylus where it becomes unresponsive with the stylus only or palm rejection mode on. If I have my palm pressed somewhere across the edge, sometimes, the stylus stops writing.
With that said, there has been improvements in responsiveness with this mod but that's when it DOES work. Meaning, flinging between screens, touch typing, and the stylus all works better when it works. Does that make sense? LOL.
I really hope NVidia and EVGA get's on this soon.

Thanks for the feedback, can you provide a log whenever that happens? enable usb debugging and in terminal (cmd) "adb shell logcat > logcat.txt" without the quotes. I think I know why it doesnt work 100%, but require logs to confirm.
Btw you guys are aware, settings -> directstylus -> set timer to activate finger touch after pen use -> disable touch only during pen use or select 3 seconds

Hey, I haven't had time yet. I've been spending too much time away from home these days with work and all so when problem happens, I am without the ability to get a logcat file. I'll get you a log as soon as time permits.
BTW, just two days ago, I had a related problem occur and instead of rebooting what I did was just play around with the device so I can give you a better description of what happens. I say "related" because I think last time I described what seemed like lag after touch presses and problems with the palm rejection.
Scenario:
1. I was plugged in charging.
2. Unfortunately, I cannot recall what I was doing or what app I ran before the touch screen problem occurred.
3. I brought up the App drawer and when I tried to swipe left to get to the next screen of apps, it automatically just swiped back to the previous screen.
4. I managed to open Google Now where my keyboard popped up automatically, characters started popping up on the text box as if my keys were being pressed.
5. I rebooted and didn't bother to wait to see if the problem would fix itself.
6. Things that might be important: I use Nova Launcher Prime and Swift Key.
Like I said, if I can somehow get lucky to have the problem happen just when I am at a PC, I'll send the logcat file ASAP.
Thanks for the effort, Shaky.

Like I said, if I can somehow get lucky to have the problem happen just when I am at a PC, I'll send the logcat file ASAP.
Thanks for the effort, Shaky.

(in the voice of Kyle's mom) Wha-wha-what?! Someone is doing a custom ROM for this thing?
It's about time, I can't wait! The only thing that has irritated me about this tablet is that there is almost no development interest in it, which is weird since it's both unlocked and inexpensive. Huge thanks, and I can't wait to see the TN7's first custom rom!

Problem with "Knock on"

Last night i left my phone in working condition but today when i woke up in the morning and turned it on, it started to open up apps automatically and began to touch anywhere it want despite where i wanted to touch. I restarted it 2,3 times and it worked fine. Then when i tried to turn it on through Knock on, it wont turn on. It turns off pretty well but dont turn on. I backed up all my data and did a factory reset but i still got that problem. Please help me out with this issue. Is it hardware or software i cant figure it out. I searched online and one of thread mentioned about testing screen so i tested it through QuickMemo and found out that a little strip was unresponsive(maybe this is the reason of Knock on failure). Again i am not sure if its a hardware or software issue. Please tell me if it can be sorted out through software way. Your help is really appreciated !!
P.S. QuickMemo image is also attached below

I wish I could help more, but I'm only guessing. From your Photo, it does appear to be a hardware issue, but if you don't mind going through it all, you might try doing a Hard Reset (AGAIN, sorry..) and see if that fixes it. It's very possible that a Hard Reset will cure the problem. Only thing is you will loose all of your data, so be sure to back it up and restore it.
I know that's a long process, but it would help you figure out if you need to send it in for repair or not. Also, likely LG would have you do the Hard Reset as part of their diagnostics before they had you send it in to them anyways.
You can also use THIS METHOD to return to stock and see if that clears the problem. If you still have that strip that does not respond, then it's likely a hardware issue.

Thanks a lot. I went through diffrent threads and found out that many of LG users had this specific issue and they call it "Ghost Touch". Many of the users recommended their own techniques some of them were really weird. like one guy told to electricate the screen using a little thingi that comes out of a cigarette lighter (i know, weird) but many were claiming that it worked (again, shocked). Some of people told to open up the phone's back and place a two sided tape on LCD connector(yet again many of them claimed that it has worked well for them). But being a technical person i dont believe in these weird and illogical methods. What do u suggest? should i try one of these or not?
P.S. I am from Pakistan and you can't claim warranty to LG from Pakistan so sending my phone to LG for a repair is off the books
another thing.... i am running Lollipop FOTA at the moment. Will the hard reset also change the version to the stock version that came out of box? i.e JB

Both of these MIGHT work. I personally would not shock my phone to try to fix it though. The tape thing might work because over time, the connections inside the phone can become loose. The tape is simply pressing the connections tighter. I have had this issue on laptops, and it might relate to your problem, IF it is a hardware issue.

If you Hard Reset, it will reset to the current version installed on your phone. So, if you've used FOTA to update, you will refresh back to the FOTA version you have updated to, not back to the original stock version when phone was new.

What I'm guessing they mean by the tape thing is finding the spot where the connection is not good, and using a piece of tape to put pressure on the connection when the back is placed back on. I don't have any way of knowing where that spot is. If it were my phone, I'd open it up and start putting light pressure on different spots to see if the screen starts working right. If/When you find the spot, place a small piece of tape that will apply pressure there when the back is placed back.

Open a ticket with Samsung and send it in for a screen replacement. if there is no water damage or physical damage they will fix it for free under warranty.
I have this green issue with flickering lines...
Warranty expired...
****sung
Are any of ypu rooted s8 u model. This is a byproduct of the combination bootloader used for rooting
Green Screen of Death
Very sorry to hear about it
While my S8 was messed up, my sisters s7 Edge had the exact same problem...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77189854&postcount=16
Now slowly, the green screen would start to flicker at times and lo one day, it would turn into a pale green light. You wont be able to do anything with the phone.
My IMMEDIATE ADVICE ...
TAKE a COMPLETE BACKUP of your data as soon as you read this message.
Secondly
Try turning the Blue Light filter off, Change the saturation of the phone and see if you are still seeing the green shade,
Send this device to service center.
EDIT :- Just now noticed the OP's date is almost a year old.
I got a same issue too today ****sung!
Is there a fix ? i dont wanna pay 250$ to replace the screen.it works well in full brightness
i got the same green screen on galaxy s8+ today after using it for 2 years i had custom kernel with hari rom, the phone is usable in full brightness, it has green overlay with horizontal line flickering over it i think this a motherboard issue, have your issue resolved ? what you did? i am thinking to change board and see
I have fixed my phone twice with this problem. You need to heat up the screen. Full brightness then record video for an hour. You should see the greenness recede. If there are green lines st the bottom which don't disappear, use a hairdryer on the screen. You will see the green vanish in 30seconds. When the phone cools, it will come back. You need to keep regularly reheating your screen to get rid of it, like every 20 minutes for a day or, 2. Eventually it will clear up. It's a pixel what issue. Heating the screen repeatedly restores functionality, after least in my case.

It is correct that it works in full brightness. Turn off the adaptive brightness and voila you can continue to work with full brightness. However, you can also reduce your
pixel to full HD from QHD to continue in this mode. I have been working on this for last few days else the ****sung care only want's to replace the screen combo .
Will try the heating methodology. I have doubts about battery also and planning to change and see.
Same issue just popped up today for me. Rooted nougat ROM with safestrap. It's definitely not the screen itself, and it's behavior is Sunday strange, it'll show up on webpages or other screens that are mostly white, but not on the dark mode applications.
so it's green on this thread and it gets less green when I open Chrome's settings on the top right.
Reboot fixes it. Until it comes back again.
Started to face this green tint issue on my S8 recently, the phone worked well for the past two years until suddenly one day this green **** happened. Never dropped the phone and never rooted it. For now rebooting the phone solves the issue, until it comes back. Till now it happened 5-6 times in a week. Rebooting fixes it and then it runs normally for sometime (or somedays) then it happens again.
Any solution?
Apparently it is a software problem, something about some screens batch that does not received well those new patches. i took my s8 g950fd at a Samsung authorized store and is was what they told me, but they don't fix it for free if it is not on warranty even though it is a Samsung software problem. I have tried to root and change roms, but it seems my cellphone does not accept root or new roms. if some one know how to help me id be grateful.
my screen has green after unlock bootloader. i didn´t anything, so im tired :/
Sounds like a firmware bug* on at least some of these. Samsung tech support sucks elephant balls bad. Obviously Samsung is well aware of this issue by now.
*during a production run Samsung will substitute smaller chipsets and components as needed. This can cause erratic firmware/update behavior as the substituted components don't have the correct values and/or code. If so you're in a fubar because Samsung is unlikely to supply the needed patch at this late date.
You can try flashing the original firmware, be wary of updates. It could be a system apk update as well.
It could also be a hardware failure on a whole batch(es) of these phones.
started having this problem suddenly now, didn't drop it, didn't do any updates. wow!

Home button and screen problem

Today i encountered a big problem with my Mi A1. After i unlocked the phone in the morning, the home button (the back and recent buttons work) and right side of the screen stopped working completely. I tried to restart the phone many times and look up the issue on google but nothing worked.
Than i tried turning on the "Pointer location" option in dev options, and it showed me, that a perfect portion of right side of the screen doesn't work, when i was sliding my finger around the right side, obviously not in such a perfect line (as seen on the screenshot).
I would like to know, if it's related to me updating to a new security patch the day before, some hardware issue or something else.
I would apreciate any help.

Thank you for your response
I didn't really change anything on the phone, when the problem appeared. Once i just unlocked it and the screen side with the home button stopped working.
I'm running completely stock android 8.1.0 with an October 5th security patch. I have updated on that security patch the night before, but i don't really think that this could be the problem... or could it be? I have a crack in my screen too, but it wasn't problem for a long time, since i dropped it months ago and i was living with it completely fine with no problems at all. The only thing i have changed on the phone is just a launcher - Nova.
And even more weird is that it sometimes works. For example last night it started working again, everything was fine and than in the middle of today it stopped working, again. I just locked the phone with the problem gone, unlocked it 5 minutes later and boom... it was back there. I don't understand this at all. Could this be due to some bad hardware connection, like wrongly connected cable etc.?

Well i think it's the crack on your screen that mess the touchscreen.
If a factory reset doesn't solve it then it's hardware?
You can have a fully cracked screen and phone will still be usable. And you can have a single crack but badly placed and screen is f***ed up
Try to repair it by yourself or by a professional.
Broken Screen rarely pass with the warranty...
I'm sorry bro.
Still try to factory reset the phone, just in case

Okay, I'll try to reset the phone, but i don't really think it could be the crack, because it happend months ago and worked fine.
Is there any other way, than a factory reset and hardware repair maybe? Because i don't really wanna pay 1/3 of the phone price just for a new screen that doesn't really affect anything. It's just a little crack on the top half of the phone, that doesn't affect the digitizer. (Or it didn't affect it for months)
Alltho thanks for your help. I'll try the factory reset and if it will work, i'll add a new comment.
