I had same "issue" when I had my P8 Lite. That light is the backlight of the LCD. You can't do nothing about it. That just shows how bad Huawei built this phone.

I got this issue too. I think that shows just how bad and cheap this phone is build. I bought it two years ago for 250€. Last Month, i bought a Sony XA1 for 200€ and the buildquality is way better. You can "fix" this "issue" with using an black/solid case or a bumber.

I am no pro with screens, So i may be wrong, but it looks like it has been either burnt or had an impact with a sharp object in that area of the screen, return it for a new one, hopefully they will replace it.
Looks like the LCD definitely needs to be changed. It looks like it's burnt or either a reaction to a magnet but I'm not quite sure what can cause that. Costs can vary but directly from LG will cost you parts+labor+shipping. Check if that Orange spot still register when you touch it.

Options: Send to LG to get it fixed (probably costs more than $100+ depending), sell it as is and get another phone (won't get as much for it with the spot) or keep it and use it as is since it still registers touch (spot might be a little annoying).

hmmmmm :c you are probably going to have to replace the screen yourself (cheaper) or live with the yellowness
I've got some yellowness appearing along the top right of the screen. Its barely noticeable but its likely to get worse over time.
From what I can tell, it seems to be related to heat/warmth. Its winter here and after a walk outside, the orangish patches pretty much go away. They appear more intense when sitting on my desk next to my laptop (right near the vent).
Same problem
Same thing here... Same location and same color.

Pixel XL issues and defects

Probably not the best type of thread but it's for anyone who has faced any issues or defects with Pixel XL. When I'm expected to fork out £819 for a top end of phone I don't really expect any types of defects.
Overall I'm quite pleased with the phone but I've noticed the pulse notification light is bit odd. Green colour is perfect but red or orange colours show as white and pink!!!
I'm sure that's not how it's supposed to be?
I've reported this to google who are looking into it and will get back to me.
Anyone else tested any features which aren't as expected or noticed any defects please let us know.
The power button feels weird, like it doesn't wanna press unless I push a certain way. Might be just me, though
There's a dead pixel on the left hand side of my screen. I've tried to ignore it, but it's really bothering me. I think I'm just going to return it and hope that the replacement doesn't take months to arrive.

I don't know how to test LED light, is it turned off with ambient display?
my only issue so far is the lack of double tap to wake. The phone is super fast and responsive. I'm at work, so I can't play too much, but damn is it going to get used all night.

Going into settings, notifications then tap on the settings icon and toggle on pulse notification light.
Took me a while to figure.
I couldn't find option to change colour so installed light manager to switch between different colours.

Is anyone having problems with very slow 4G speeds? Compare to my Samsung Galaxy S7 and the speed on this phone for the 4G networks is very slow I wonder why that is
is there anyway to get a charging LED? always liked to be able to see how charged my phone is by a quick glance without having to keep turning the screen on.

Screen issue.. software issue?

I have lots of white and colored lines on my screen. They disappear when i turn the screen off, and then slowly fade in. Surely this is software?

Wow. It looks like maybe loose connection from screen to system board. Or the device got wet? Try tweaking(twisting) the frame a little to see if it changes at all(better/worse). If it does then probably loose connection.

Hasn't got wet and no change when twisting either. Though switching the screen off and back on clears it for about 30 seconds. Very strange!

Doesn't seem like a hw problem.
Try this:
1- Run a benchmark in loop for 30 minutes to make the device hot. Something like Antutu. This would provoque any underlying heat problem.
2- Set screen off to 30 minutes and leave it idle on to see if screen changes while doing nothing.
3- factory reset the device after backup your data.
My oppinion is it a hardware issue. You can handle it like a software issue and try to fix it but if you don't have time or don't want to experiencing it would be better to bring it back where you bought it.

ok, its come to light now. My five year old has confessed he knocked it off of a table. Makes sense now, however the table is just over half a metre high.It would have falllen onto a wooden floor. Warranty seems unlikely.
I must say though i'm surprised it has caused this damage. My wife's Moto G was thrown by my five year old onto tarmac and the Moto G is absolute fine. I'd like to buy the Honor 8 again as I really like it, though I feel I would be stupid to buy another if they are a delicate as this. Be warned.... Don't have kids!

Than you are lucky that you have a Honor phone (if you are within the 3 month).
The Huawei/Honor offers 3 month screen warranty (but only one time) for accidents as well. Link: http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/uk/vipservice/index.html
Yes call them quickly so you can send it back for repair/replacement. And get a good case!

No point in contacting them on Facebook, I've spoken to their help desk. UK not covered. It's with them for repair. Guess they will send me a bill. Loo! After your honor 8 guys. I've done the drop test and it sadly isn't durable. I really liked this phone. More than my Galaxy s7 edge, but tough to buy again knowing it can't survive a small drop.

Buying a second hand S6 Edge+ Help!

Hey guys im buying a used GS6 Edge+ with no damage except the guy says there is a little spot on the display like burnt pixel but it fixes it self with more usage of the phone. He thinks it software because the phone was never dropped for it to happen.Im asking because i don't know anything about dead pixel just that if it has one i need a new screen to fix it. Do you think it can be software or is he lying just to sell the device?

Not necessary that pixel has to be damged by dropping if phone dropped this phone is too delicate i am serious you will know[emoji1] when you see it there will be scratched there near the damaged part but screen pixel could die sometimes even if phone is in pocket and something sharp comes in contact just be careful and see if it doesn't irritate you

Mine is but shutdown prob sometimes
I bought a 2nd one so I'm a bit paranoid about going all in and using it as my main device only for it to BLOD on me at some point.
The 6P was and still is my favorite phone. Loved the design and performance and camera, battery life was poor though.
I've owned about 5 over the years. My latest one got used for a good while and is now used as a backup phone in the family and still ticks along okay, battery is shot though!
My current pixel 2xl which I just bought second hand feels a lot like the 6P did, which is nice to see.
Mine ?
Cool. So not every phone is a lemon?
Funnily enough I bought a 2nd hand pixel 2 XL and I thought the screen was terrible - it was just way too blue. So I sold it and bought the N6P. The screen is much better then the pixel IMHO plus I put £100 in my back pocket.

I bought a 2nd hand pixel 2XL for £90 and am selling it already, crap battery (compared to my Moto Z Play) and the mobile reception was poor, even compared to the 6P.
Screen isn't bad, but can't forgive the reception and the battery.
£90 is a very good price for a pixel 2 XL. The battery on the pixel 2 I had was decent but the screen was poor for the price.
I am using it right now actually. Whenever I decide to get rid of it, I start using it again and it's so smooth and good to hold.
Maybe I could just replace the battery....
The mobile reception is a pain though. It isn't awful, but it is worse than my previous phones.
mine got into a bootloop last year n the power button is broken so theres really no saving it. ended up going with a galaxy s8+ duos. only thing i miss is the smooth n stable aosp roms tbh.

i bought my 6P refurbished in late 2017 and i dont think that the class action applies to me since i didnt purchase the phone from google or a service provider.
Mine (128 GB) is still going but the battery is worn out. drains fast when used and shuts down around 30%. just moved to a Moto last weeks as a primary. VZ warranty offered to replace my 6p with a Moto z Force or reimburse for battery replacement.. Other than than it looks like new and works quite well still.
Got mine yesterday. Abit battered but it works. Battery replaced and all working good on full 8 cores. Doesn't heat up much either? going to replace housing and it will look new again.

Mine was a 2 xl in black. Screen was fine. Broke because of water damage, no rescuing it. So bought one from a mate of mine. He hadn't used it in a while so sold me it dirt cheap replace battery and housing and looks good as new.
I have a Pixel 2xl that broke. I'm out of town and won't be home for a month, to get it fixed. But I have my trusty 6p as back up. I bought it brand new, when they came out. I forgot what a darn good phone it is. It's one of my all time favorites. Still going strong. I'm so glad I kept it.
