Xperia X10i Flash Mode

Hi guys,,, just bought myself a X10i to play with,,, figured I,ve flash the thing with a rom from the developers forum,
This is where I came unstuck,,,, cant for the life of me get it into flash mode.
Instructions were as follows
1 With fone OFF. Hold down back button and insert usb cable, green light comes on and hit enter. What bloody enter, on the fone or on your keyboard. I,ve tried both, fone just keeps on booting into the main screen, nothing even resembles a flash mode screen. Tried this untill my thumb nearly bled.
Someone help please.

Read the tuts in the dev forum. P.S. no custom roms yet but there is root.

Try hold down "back button" without battery then insert USB cable and then insert battery.

When it says to hit enter, that is to continue from the screen (on the PC) that says "press any key to continue" when you are doing the steps for rooting. If you don't have that window ready the phone will only stay in flash mode for about 5 seconds and then it will continue to boot. So, just make sure you are ready with the PC before entering flash mode.

My phone is also x10i.I have trouble to enter in flash mode.It shows up the green LED but flash tool says it occurs error and plug your phone in flash mode.
What should I do?Help me , plz.

check drivers (install SE PC suite and let it atleast detect the phone once in FLASH mode)...
also it might help to disable any antivirus (worked for me)

cannot enter the flash mode

I know this post is pretty old, but still I'm struglig the second day now to get into flash mode and still no luck despite trying every method there is on the web.
I've got Xperia X10i mini pro, reinstalled standard ROM with PC companion just to make sure it's nothing with the software or any modifications I made to it.
I'm guiding myself with instruction given here:

in order to get my bootloader unlocked
what I've done so far:
-installed Android SDK incl. SDK Tools, SDK Platform-tools, Google USB driver package. Not installed any API from SDK.
-put android_winusb.inf (18 KB size) in C:\android-sdk-windows\extras\google\usb_driver
-in general- everyting given here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Install_the_Android_SDK#Windows

in my opinion meaning it works as it should.
So I turn the phone off, unplug the cable both from computer and the phone, take the abttery out, plug both end of USB cable where these should be, hold the Back button (tried with Volume up too) and put the battery in.
The result is it only goes into flash mode for several seconds (confirmed by SuperOneClisk log) and then goes into charging mode. nothing gets displayed on the screen. Only when PC Companion is on it detects it, than looses it and pops up with a window on how to properly connect the device... :/
So can someone please tell me what I do wrong?
Why it doesn't stay in flash mode?
PS. when I enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu, after pressing the last * the numbers just disappear and nothing happens...

I think I had the same problem. My flash tool was stuck and would not finish. I fixed it by using flash tool 0.2.6 and flashed the newest x10a generic firmware 2.1.A.0.435. I DID NOT flash the firmware the easy way. The only thing that worked for me was the hard way.

NOTE: Again, the one that worked for me was option 2. (hard way.)

I had the same problem, it was solved by activating the "debug USB mode": Settings -> Applications -> Developpement.

don't forget my problem... i can't go for flash mode When i see green LED appear
Code:
a. Unplug your USB cable from PC
b. Power off your phone
c. Press back button and keep your finger on button
d. Plug USB cable to PC
e. Check if the green LED appear
f. On popup message press "OK" button
g. When "Found at USB/........" appear on flash tool you may release "back button", sit down, relax and wait.

To load drivers run SEUS and PC Companion at least one time.

I need help! I have the same problem... my laptop doesn't recognize my Xperia in Flash mode... only the green led turned on and anything more happen =(

I had this problem, the cause was windows xp SP3.
On another pc with xp SP2 everything worked

When I flash my X10 I'm using XP SP3, and it works fine.

It was an assumption, maybe due to different motherboard, but on mine didn't work

[Q] Huawei E5372s-32 stuck on boot after wrong firmware

i need help to back my E5372s-32 which stuck on boot and give me logo of Huawei
after connect it to my PC cannot feel with modem
i tried to enter ' Force download " mode to firmware it using (power+Menu) buttons during turn on but i could see it for less 1 second

That Simply means there is an error on the phone software, Update it and it'l be 5n

I get some update after many trying
I press power+Menu , as soon as (Force download) appear I quickly plugin the USB cable which connected to PC
suddenly I got screen of mifi ( DONOT POWER OFF) its force update screen, then my pc starts to feel with the modem and starts to installing driver
the problem that this PC have new windows so it does not recognize of all drivers,
after some time I installed the driver from

then I tried to Enter Force download again I could not
I tried more but as soon as I enter it , the mifi go out again to Huwaie logo

I know I may be a little too late but I found the solution to this. I was stuck on the FTM screen but THIS firmware solved it. It is really easy. Try it out and tell me how it goes. All the best.

Ok, so I'll try to make this short, this is how I fixed the logo bootloop.
I basically flashed a wrong firmware and the device was rendered unusable(stuck at logo).
First of all u need to use "Huawei Vodafone R215 – E5372 Flasher by fr3nsis" u can google it.
U need to find the right .hmf firmware to flash with fr3nsis.
The only one that I found and worked was "R215MobileWifiFirmware_v3.1"
it contains 13 files .bin and the flashable R215MobileWifiFirmware_v3.1.hmf.
You also need R215MobileWifiFirmware_v3.1.exe
After getting the files u need to put the device in download mode,
take the battery out and put it back, press and hold menu and power until some text appears(1 second),
right when the text appears press menu and it should get you into download mode.
Now u can use the the flasher tool to flash the firmware. after a few seconds, it should say "fail"
restart device and flash with R215MobileWifiFirmware_v3.1.exe. it should now work

Hi do you have any solution for version 21.290.03.00.838(current) ? I'M stucked on boot logo. How to downgrade to version 21.290.03.00.00? I tried using Fr3sis flasher 1.0v and it didn't work. I also tried Fr3nsis 1.6v but it didn't work bcuz it doesn't detect the com port meanwhile fr3nsis 1.0v can read the com port but different number of Com port. Let say huawei modem (com 9) but when it comes to detect the port using Fr3nsis 1.0v it show com4 instead. Desperately need help

connect mifi to pc
install huawei driver
check your port device use huawei flasher or you can install firmware with exe extension

Hi everyone,
I try to install new ROM throw SPTool and cannot enter Download Mode. I went through multiple tutorials and nothing worked. I cannot do through recovery because it a great update from Android 4.4 to 5.1.
How can i enter download mode? Is there any button combination to enter? I dont want to enter recovery, I want DOWNLOAD.

It dont works. When using phone volume up and down works well (if you think it could be broken).
Now you see that i searched and didnt find a solution.

Why you wanna use DOWNLOAD?
From 4.4 to 5.1 you want to use FIRMWARE UPGRADE with SP Flashtool.

If you want to update system from 4.4 to 5.1, you will use firmware upgrade option in SP Tool but need to put phone in DOWNLOAD MODE. This is done with many Android phone brands (LG, Samsung, ...).
Thank you for your response. I got download mode finally. I only need to connect usb without battery and then put battery in. Many tutorials said to put battery first and then connect usb.

The single way my phone connects is if I keep volume down pressed longer. Even if it appears to be connected in SPFlash, still keep volume down pressed until the first FORMAT action in SP. Also, change the usb hub and the usb cable you are using. Sometimes it helps (in mine it did)

my s3 basic is not charging when on.. also when connected to pc thru usb, ipc shows device malfunctioning ,and there is no indication on phone..I try to connect to sp flash tool also no success..same error"usb device not recognized pops up every 2s.everything else is fine..Any method to upgrade to 5.1 now on official kk

update : but usb otg works

Meizu m2 note bricked.

I have meizu m2 note. Its now bricked. I was using sp flash tool to unlock the bootloader and install twrp recovery.
i was following the guide giving on youtube. I can't attach an outside link here.
So i did everything this guide said, but on the last step when i switched off my phone and connected to the usb port. The sp flash tool stopped working i waited for 5-10 mins. Finally it crashed. Now when i try to connect my phone it says usb device not recognised (the last device you connected to this computer malfunctioned). I cannot start my phone. I tried pressing the power button for 10 secs, tried pressing volume + with power button, nothing happens.
Anybody have any idea how to solve this.

Go to download old version Flyme os 4+ any but original rom you have must install,
And dow load any latest sp tool,
And also downlaod latest all mtk devices drivers,
If you have system knoledge you can install all of these pc softwares,
Test it once again your phone connecting to computer,
Just detected only nothing. Can do that its just detected your will be alive soon but its very easy if you know a little bit mobile knowledge,
Lets go to process
Step 1 check best and good branded usb connecting cable, test to connect usb cable to your phone,
Step 2 extract Flyme stock rom, and extract mtk sp tool,
Step 3 open sp tool showing error there is no any scatter. Or download file dont worry, da file availble at sptools folder you can go and select, and scatter. File availble at flyme stock rom folder lets check it then select firmware all formate and install that you have to select that option, then you select download and now connect your phone just leave ituntill done then your phone is will alive feel happy like me if you need any more information any other problem connect. I been able to install LineageOS, I fixed it by pressing home and menu button, it disconnect and reconnect and i been able to Re-flash it with the recovery and when i tried to install Lineage, my error was gone (error 7)
