During a call the navbar / home buttons are greyed out and not working. Only way to get to the home screen is by going to Contacts which will then show the navbar button as wodking. Is this normal behavior?
It almost acts like you would expect if the phone was locked and you received a call, locking you out from accessing the rest of the phone, except for being able to go through Contacts.
Tried wiping cache/dalvik but issue persists. This is the H918 rooted on stock 10j with Xposed 88.2. Maybe it's a corrupt LGInCallUI.apk? Tried to replace it with the apk from 10p and set permissions but had constant FC. Thinking I might need the stock 10j version to try.
Any ideas?

I am having a problem with the volume levels for notifications. The volume for notifications (Gmail, text messages, etc...) will randomly become very low. This makes it almost impossible to hear the notifications. The volume settings are still set to the max volume in settings but the alerts are barely audible. When this happens the volume in better keyboard sounds on keypress is also reduced when this happens.
If I soft reset the phone by powering off and turning it back on everything returns to normal.
Apps that I have installed on the phone are
Better Keyboard
Brightness Level widget
GPS toggle widget
Retro clock widget
TasKiller
Tmobile Visual Voicemail
Weather Widgets
Anyone have any clues ???
Thank you
I thought I was crazy... I have the exact same problem. For the record, I have a good amount of the same apps installed too. I have a cover on my phone and I was thinking for some reason that was it, but the only way to make it return to normal volume is powering off and back on.
I've got the myTouch 3G.
possible app issue?
I ended up removing the GPS toggle widget and have not had the problem in the last couple of days so it may have been related to that app. Ill keep an eye out and see if it happens again.
Hm, I don't have that widget or the brightness level widget installed. I've noticed that it will happen and then go back to normal sometimes without restarting the phone... just by opening/closing random apps (at least I've yet to see a pattern).
Very weird.
Data issue.
If you have recently flashed any ROM that doesn't have the correct kernel to support media sounds that come standard with your device...it can corrupt the files within that specific folder.
More-or-less, it's like making an "unauthorized" change, but your phone recognizes that, so the volume settings do NOT function properly due to some form or interruption from elsewhere.
I would suggest downloading a third-party application such as Volume Control to keep the settings RUNNING as an application and not just a system setting.
In my case, I haven't touched anything like that. As far as rom, it's exactly as-is from the T-Mobile box.
It's driving me crazy because my ringtone is also effected. Sometimes I can't hear my calls even if I'm in the same room with the volume at 100% and other times it's inappropriately loud because of this issue of it going back and forth.
Factory reset / data wipe.
If you have uninstalled or NEVER added any third-party applications to your device to utilize those toggle features or settings for volume adjustments...then I would suggest a FACTORY RESET or "hard reset." This will simply wipe your phone back to the obviously stated "packaged" form.
This will remove any potential issues that could have been caused by an application conflicting with the system.
Good luck.
So I am usually good about finding solutions to my problem but this one has me stumped.
Phone: LG G2 VS980
Rom: Xdabbeb 3.1.1/3.1.2
I was typing on the Google Now search bar when all if a sudden my phone rebooted. It came back on and went to the home screen bypassing my lock screen. Now my lock screen will not come back, my home and recent button do not work, volume keys do not work, notification light works but the notifications themselves do not show.
Things tried:
Turning it off an on again
Changing device lock options (from knock-code to none to swipe)
Clearing cache and dalvik-cache
Updating from Xdabbeb 3.1.1 to 3.1.2
This fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2777889
Any ideas would be appreciated. Sounds like many different types of phone have had this happen and the only fix seems to be a hard reset which I would like to avoid.
Thanks
If anyone is having issues with their volume panel not timing out after a few seconds, go into settings > accessibility. Turn off moto voice. Now check it by pressing your volume key and waiting. Mine now properly times out. Unfortunately, you lose the use of moto voice. For some of you, I'm sure that's unacceptable. Touching anywhere outside the volume panel will also make it go away (when moto voice is on under accessibility). For now, I know of no way to fix this issue. Hope this helps some of you!
**UPDATE 5/18/2016**
If you happen to use Xposed, you can keep moto voice on and download the module called "volume slider delay fix for marshmallow". This will allow all to work as it should (including keeping moto voice on)!

Same here, in games!
Thanks. I noticed this behavior started seemingly at random. Looking back on it, it started happening when I decided to try Moto Voice, which I have since turned off except for the accessibility service. That did the trick. Not a big deal as you said, you can dismiss it by touching anywhere on the screen, but since I don't need Moto Voice anyway, it's nice to have it behaving normally.
i had this and have only just realised since i factory reset its stopped doing it.
does same thing to me

I'm on badboyz 7.1.1 with magisk root and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to disable screen wake every time I get a notification.
I'm also having this issue... 2017U B19 w/ Magisk
Anytime I get a text, the phone wakes up and turns on the display (and I just want it to hear the notification). I've tried several messaging apps, including stock, and they all seem to function this way. Textra has an option to "disable screen wake", but that had no effect.

This behaviour also annoys me. Sometimes the screen even turns on when the phone is in my pocket and because it is unlocked by my smartwatch it then sometimes also unlock itself and begins to send text messages, saves screenshots etc.
I think the idea behind this is that there would be no visual indication that a notification is shown because this phone has no led for notifications. But I can see every important notification on my smartwatch, so I don't need this.
Does anybody know how to disable this behaviour? Maybe using an Xposed module?

I actually just updated my A2017U from B19 to B25 a couple days ago...and the screen no longer turns on when I get a notification.
You can follow the instructions from here...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68873482&postcount=2
The only thing I did different was at step 7, I flashed Magisk v13.6 beta instead of SuperSU

Thanks for the hint, but I will wait with the update until the Xposed framework runs under Android Nougat.
I am facing this problem since tomorrow in my oneplus 5, after using my device for some time my navigation keys doesn't work anymore. I have to use software nav buttons to navigate accross system and the home button only functions when i require to input my finger print(like unlocking device or in app locker).
After doing a reboot the navigation keys function properly but after sometime the problem again starts.
!!None of the hardware buttons are working(navigation keys, volume buttons), except the power button and alwrt slider if that counts!!
The keypad test(in the list of factory tests in*#808#) was past, as i have mentioned after reboot everything works fine. The problem appears after the device hasn't been used for some time. Then if i do keypad teat on pressing navigation and volume buttons nothing happens, same happens for powwr button too although it works fine. Alert slider passes the test and works perfectly too.
!!No the phone hasn't got any physical or water damage.!!
My best guess is that i was playing with some settings action in secure settings plug in for tasker that might have caused this but i don't know which one caused this as i was playing with settings related with display and sound. See if this is any help.
Yesterday night i rebooted and everything was working fine and i locked the phone and slept. In morning my battery was below 10% and battery saver mode was activated. When i tried to use everything was working fine untill I plugged the phone in and the hardware buttons stopped working then after charging i tried to enable battery saver mode to see if the buttons work again but they didn't.
Please help with this and i have done cache cleaning please post something useful.
Factory Reset/Clean Install. This is the only advice that makes any sense.
Is there any way to just reset settings valuew to default without losing any data.

You can try to just dirty flash the rom within twrp. But I recommend to make backups before.
Wel, the issue was with auto input intercepting my buttons input, on disabling that everything is fine.

What do you mean by "auto input"? Are you referring to the "Autofill service" option?

if your issue comes back it might be part of a larger problem others are having https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...ing-on-screen-navbar-setting-disabled.979545/
