Bro this is not a software issue, so no matter how many times you factory reset or update or flash custom rom, it is not going away. This is hardware related so your only destination is either service center or OLX
I know it's late to recommend that but you should never use your LCD device at maximum brightness. This kills OLED displays and affects quite a large number of IPS display types.

Hi,
I just bought Lenovo ZUK Z1 like a week ago. Today I'm seeing this issue where the back button led glows noticeable less bright that the recents button led. I thought it was software issue, so I flashed CM13 to the phone. But the issue still exists. Should I ask the vendor for replacing my phone? Is anyone else facing the same issue? Any solutions?
Thanks,
Airag

Hello Airag,
Well for the starters you're not the only one facing this issue.
I bought Z1 for myself about a week ago and found out that I have the same issue as yours. Browsing through many threads here, I realized that many (especially) devices sold here in India have this problem.
In one of the threads it was suggested to open your device by yourself and put the slightly misplaced led in it's proper place. That's a bit extreme procedure I think.
I'm not sure if this problem is big enough to get the phone replaced since many other users have reported several other issues and there's no guarantee that the replaced device will be free from all such issues.
As for myself, it was such an eyesore for me that I turned the LEDs off in the settings and now I'm used to using the phone without hardware button lights.
I think before the device's warranty gets void (one year) I'll take it to a service centre to get the issue fixed, possibly for free.
Hope this helps!
I had the same issue and returned the handset for a replacement
I had the same issue with both the initial unit and the replacement unit. Not to mention, severe heating at the top corners/sides. I got myself a one time refund.
This is really poor stuff from Lenovo. And I agree with what someone suggested in one of the review videos about Lenovo simply clearing the Zuk Z1 stock in India so that they can concentrate on Zuk Z2.

You go to Settings > Buttons > Backlight > Uncheck Illuminate Buttons
If you recently brought your device from Amazon, and it's not been over 10 ten days from the day when your device was delivered, and you love your Buttons Backlit, I'd recommend you get your device replaced.
The return procedure is quite easy, you might want to consider it.

Two post above you'll find the answer
All of us have that issue turn off backlight, problem solve.
Add me to this list. My left light has has no light and the right is really dim. Went to the place I purchased and they said I have it looked at. I will not receive it until the lights work I hope they don't replace it with a lemon with working lights

id like to just turn off the lights, but there is no option for this with my zuk z1. Buttons > Backlight > Uncheck Illuminate Buttons
I can only enable on screen nav bar; which turns off the lights... but i dont want the on screen nav bar... and i dont want to root.

Hello all,
Something strange suddenly happened to my tmobile s7 edge, all of a sudden whenever I dim the brightness on the phone the screen goes crazy with flickers and greens. I need to set the brightness to the highest setting so the flicker can go away I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if they found a fix that doesn't involve having to change the screen, I live outside the US and I bought the phone on EBAY so any chance of getting it replaced is not an option.
P.S I've never dropped my phone ((
That's a software issue, nothing is wrong with your phone. I had that on my S5 from Lollipop to Marshmallow. Hopefully somebody could give you a more in depth answer.

Its not a software issue it sounds like a hardware issue and some customers reported this problem on a german portal. They got a replacement of the display/board.
I had the same problem here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3359221
Its a hardware issue. You need to ask your Ebay seller to replace it if they have such guarantee.
How is the display after replacing the display ? Does the problem still persist or it fixes permanently ?
If you manage to get a newer LGD display, the problem will be fixed permanently as newer panels don't have this issue.

Btw , there is no moto service centre in my area...
We able to fix the screen burn with rooted and custom ROM but why can't the Motorola's can't fix it . Since we can fix it with rooted phone I think there will be a way to fix it through update or something ...
Iam planning to buy moto g4 plus, i heared there were 2 batches with 2 types of screens LGD and BOE . please tell me how to check the screen details of this mobile. and also please tell me what should i check before and after buying this mobile as this is highly controversial model. Thans in advance
Install DevCheck System Info. Search for the 'Hardware' section, and then scrolll down till you find "Panel", it displays which screen do you have (BOE or LGD).
You shouldn't check anything else, since the only bugs of this model come from the screen (always can exist an exception, like in every smartphone).
Short story:
LGD = possible image retention (can be fixed).
BOE = possible ghost touches while it's connected to a PC/Charger (can't be fixed).
Thank you
Thank you very much ..
Sir,
I just found that my screen is an LGD . should i worry about image retention ? is it common in all devices ? (my device mfg date - september-2016).
Is there anything else should i be careful at or worry about ? please suggest..
thank you

Sir, I have a BOE display. As per your post, it can't be fixed. But will it be replaceable for free, if I go to the service centre?

Yes, it should. Since it's a manufacture fault recognized by Lenovo. Some BOE screens will never suffer from this fault, is not my case, mine has ghost touches when is conected to a PC, since the zero day, but it is not big deal for me, obviously is a clear failure and can be very annoying for these who need to use their phones conected to a PC or wall charger (in my case i never faced ghost touches while is connected to a charger).
@pinke93
In the case of the screens made by LG, the image retention can be corrected setting all the 3 RGB values to 240, you will need root for this. Some people uses a blue filter app from the PlayStore that does not requires root (i didn't test this method).
I "fixed" a normal moto G4 from a friend, with LGD screen doing the RGB value re-setting.
You should not be worried about something else, and is not a certain that it's going happen to your device.

Thank you very much. I agree with you. It's not a problem at all since I do not use my phone that much while it is charging. Moreover the turbopower technology gives me at least 80% charge in nearly 1 hour or so. But in emergency cases, say during doing a phone call, sending important messages, when the ghost touch starts popping up it is indeed really annoying. So as per your advice, I will have to go to the service centre to replace the display panel. And by the way I have rooted my device on the very first day I purchased my device.

Same here haha, i bought this device because my Nexus 5x die, that model has a terrible design failure (same as LG G4), suddenly it went turned off and never could relive it (hardware break: the welding that holds the CPU attached to the mainboard get broke). So, the ghost touch issue for me is literally nothing.

Yes. Despite packing some decent hardware, the Nexus 5X always had these problems. Even some had filed a lawsuit against google. But I don't think its entirely google's fault. It was the fault of the OEM's, and LG (for Nexus 5X) and Huawei (for Nexus 6P) faced lots of criticisms from the customers.

But, I dont want to root my mobile . iam not a techie ,not good at this kind of stuff, so dont want to void my warranty... as you suggested i think colour filter apps might work.
And, Incase if i get this issue in future, can i request the service center to change my display to boe ?
when i connect my earphones to moto g4 plus, its not showing any icon on status bar ( headset icon that we generally see at the top ), please tell me how to get it.
Thank you once again.

The company is bound to replace your screen under warranty
Also you wanted headphone icon in status bar
For that swipe down from top on home screen and long press on settings icon you will see it rotating then leave it. You will get a toast notification that system ui tuner ....
Then go to settings you will see a new section at bottom called system ui tuner under that you will find status bar and then you can select icon to show
Thank you @ Sobhan Bhuyan.
will try it
My Mum's Mi A1 has been acting up the last 3 months.
Phone seems to have a mind of its own. The problem seems to be with lots of ghost touches. For example, she will open contacts and then it will call someone by itself without an presses.
She says what she notices the most though is that she is unable to type anything properly. Words are all jumbled up and cursor will random move around whilst typing so you end up entering words in the middle of the sentence. This happens on the keyboard in any app and with all different keyboards..gboard, stock and swift
She is on 8.1 July patch and a factory reset has already been done.
Problem was there before the latest update too.
Can anyone help? I'm hoping a custom rom will fix it or does it sound like hardware?
Sounds like a touchscreen hardware issue to me.
Touch Interface i.e digitiser is damaged. Cover it under warranty
Or screen guard if any & test.
Take it to a service center asap
This is a hardware issue and can be fixed under warranty
I did read about there being some software issues but the phone has been reset twice now and received 2 major OTA updates and the problem is still there so pretty sure it must be hardware.
Unfortunately it was an eglobal purchase so I'm going to claim through my Nationwide mobile phone insurance to save my sanity lol
