I'm using an custom ROM, this one in particular and I'm missing a thing, that display with the notifications as soon as they arrive in the smartphone, without unlocking it.
There is an way to use it?

Maybe this should go in dev, forgive me if so, I've been in the romming and rooting scene since the d1 but never really got my hands into actually editing files for myself. With that said I was wondering for the transformer if there is a way to turn off or clear the notification bar of all non running notifications easily? Disable some things like the sd card notification always being on? Have more than 5 or 6 whatever the limit seems to be down there? And maybe make a suggestion for a willing dev to try to make an almost phone style pull up notification area for all notifications..if thats even remotely possible. Probably not based on the framework? Who knows, even if it cleared the bottom and brought up a seperate window that'd be awesome. If none of that is possible, is at least getting rid of the sd card icon possible? Thanks guys.
Oh btw, I am running the latest prime 1.5 with the clem kernel. Willing to alpha/beta/flash zips etc.
Me too!
I think those are good suggestions and i'd be keep to test any solutions anyone here comes up with
Great suggestions and I completely agree. I'm sure with the right developers working on it that anything is possible. I am still waiting for full facebook integration like HTC sense has. It'd be nice to get desktop notifications from FB and Twitter etc...
You can modify the layout (xml) it yourself, Use Apk-tools 1.4.1.
Hi all,
I've been a long-time Cyanogenmod user, and been very happy overall. However, as they expand to so many devices, and time their final updates together, I no longer benefit from quick access to new versions of Android since I've only got Nexus devices (for example: https://plus.google.com/+CyanogenMod/posts/HpXkXU98R7q)
Realistically, I only use a few CyanogenMod features that go beyond a stock Nexus ROM:
Root
Numerical Battery
Clock Widget
Bluetooth Tethering
Expanded Desktop (Might not be required with KitKat)
Pie Controls (With Expanded Desktop, might not be required with KitKat, either)
Given that, and KitKat's full screen capabilities, it brings me down to Root, numerical battery and BT tethering, which are pretty easy to enable on a stock ROM. However, every time I OTA update, I loose it all. And to get root back, many times I have to re-unlock which causes a hard-reset, loosing all my data, too.
So, the question: Is there a ROM that's close to stock, with root, that either has or would be easy to add the above features? Or, is there an easy way to create my own. I'm also looking for something that could be repeated across multiple Nexus devices (4/5/7/10).
Thanks,
Ben
Although I don't use it, so I'm no expert, I think the Xposed Framework would do the things you want.

1. Why the ?%$& is the album art getting displayed in full screen in the lock screen? It looks like absolute ****. Can't seem to find a way to disable this disgusting feature.
2. Why isn't my preference of keeping the lights under the buttons constantly enabled? After a while they just don't turn on anymore.
3. Any way to get something resembling realistic colors on this god awful screen? Jesus christ the screen on my Xperia S was way better than this. The various screen modes don't seem to make any difference.
4. Any way to disable the shutter sound on camera? I mean what were they thinking, making it impossible to disable?
5. Can I get the Sony WALKMAN app and widgets on this phone and if yes, how?
6. What the hell is KNOX?
7. How do I get rid of S Voice once and for all? The stupid gimmick keeps popping up and talking and I don't know what the hell it wants from me.
There's more, but I'm done for today.
8. Suggestion on how to deal with buyer's remorse?
Thank you.

It seems to me that what you don't like about S4 is the software. Sure, it packs lots of crap wares. I too can't stand those so I have to rooted and customized those.
1. Album art is kitkat feature, it exist also in AOSP and no option to disable it.
2. Mine stay on if I chose "Always on"
3. You're used to LCD screen, granted LG G2, HTC One... screen are better, not sure about Xperia S. What I love about Amoled is true black, viewing angle, battery consumption... however color reproduction is slightly off, but far better that Amoled it replaced.
4. Mine; go to camera pp > Settings > 3rd tab > Shutter sound > off.
5. Not sure, it might just like installing app... you gotta search in this forum.
6. KNOX is some enterprise feature... not sure anyone use it. But flashing fw could lead to KNOX warranty void and make your phone lose warranty.
7. You can disable S Voice app.
8. I'm not sure.
Hope some one will give you clearer info on this.
Thanks for trying to help me. I'm sorry if I sound mad in my post but I expected a lot more and was pretty disappointed. And yeah, my main issue is the software, it looks bad and it's not as usable and refined as the Sony UI I was used to.
That being said
1. It's too bad you can't disable fullscreen album art, it looks so bad.
2. Mine also stay on for a while, then all of a sudden they're off and there's no way to turn them back on again unless I fiddle with the settings. What could be the problem?
3. Yeah, screen is just a matter of getting used to. I'm more used to a realistic color palette with lighter whites. This looks a bit off to me, and whites are slightly tinted but it seems there's no way to fix it (on Xperia there was a "white balance app", Samsung doesn't seem to have an equivalent).
4. Why is it not there on mine? I searched everywhere for it, it's nowhere to be found. Maybe it's because I have the stock Italian firmware? Which firmware are you using? On Xperia there were various variants of the same firmware, I flashed a "WORLD" one which had no third party bloat, is there a similar one for Samsung?
By the way, I rooted the phone by flashing some file from Odin, but I'm having issues: for example, I tried to apply the hosts patch with adaway, and it doesn't seem to work properly, also, I can't seem to get Android Commander to detect the phone no matter what, and I tried to install CWM using ROM Manager from Play Store, and that also doesn't work (I still have the stock Samsung recovery that's completely useless), even though ROM Manager says I installed CWM.
And one last question, how do you know if a new firmware is available? Since I rooted and tripped that Knox BS, it now says I'm not original anymore and I'm not going to receive any more updates. Is there a website I can check for firmware updates? My phone is an unbranded i9505.
Thanks in advance.
Are there any custom ROMs that properly work with Daydream?
I know ROMs based on LineageOS are not properly implementing Daydream making may apps not split the screen, and being super slow/choppy/jittery making you ill. (You need to put it in the viewer to really notice it.)
I'm back on stock as I bought this phone for Daydream, but I can't live without my Live Wallpaper (A2017G 7.1.1 doesn't support Live Wallpaper) and being able to turn off the lock screen would be nice, too.
I understand most people with this phone don't use Daydream, so it's not a big issue, but if anyone knows a ROM that works, please let us few know about it.
I guess if you Don't know about a custom ROM with perfectly working Daydream and you also care about it, you can vote to make it a priority here:

Hi, like the title suggested, I am looking for a way to merge LG v20 second screen with the main one, preferably with an option to switch between the two modes at will.
I know that there is one Rom that allows you to merge the screen in the past but it doesn't get ported to Oreo from my understanding. For now, I am thinking about something like using an app to increase the monitor resolution to be bigger and hopefully push the second screen off the main panel (not sure if that's possible) or may be porting LG V40 or V30 Rom if that's possible and use their widget in place of the second screen. I am just looking for an idea at this moment, so if you have any please give me a suggestion.
I have a Korean model that already received the latest security update so I can't probably root it though.

This.
If the second-screen behaved as OP described on the stock ROM, well, the phone wouldn't really HAVE a second screen.
I did it before... but unfortunately i don't have the moded files anymore.
If you interested I can provide a quick guide to fully disable the second screen, and extend the op screen by moding a couple framework files and LGSystemUI.
I would like to try it out. Can you post your instructions? Thank you in advance
