Hello!
I am new to this forum but I havent found an answer anywhere on the internet. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 plus with a small crack in the screen in the corner(I dont think its relevant). I have had this phone for almost 2 months.
My problem is: If the phone is locked and I press either the home or lock button, the phone vibrates and it works but the screen will still remain black(lock screen will not be displayed). I know the phone works even when the screen is not working because if I swipe on the black screen, the iris scanner will turn on. I can get it to work but only if I try turning on and off the phone a lot of times until the screen finally turns on. After the screen turns on, I dont have any problems with it(just there are a few lines on the screen from the crack).
Any suggestion might help,
Thanks a lot
well its obviously broken, send it in for repair and pay up bi... man.

I have restarted my note 3 and now I cant see my homes screen. It seems to take a long time to get through the second Samsung screen but eventually I can see my notification bar which I can still pull down and it I hit the home button twice it turns on S Voice so I know the screen is working. The screen brightness is up on full and when the screen is on its functioning fine. I can also turn it off without any problems
I just cant see my home page and my security pattern screen.
I've tried removing the battery hold in power on button for a few minutes then replacing the battery but that seems to make no difference.
Any ideas whats happened
thanks
Factory reset .
note 3 problem
hello my friend . this is the same problem that happened to me today in morning if some one help you pleas tell me what i have to do .
thanks
So I managed to drop my phone a couple of weeks ago and crack the screen. The screen itself has remained fully functional despite a couple of purple lines down it and progressively worse flickering. It;s gradually started becoming more unresponsive and tonight it seems to have had enough. The stay on screen still display the time and if I press the lock key it will show me my lock screen and my notifications, I can swipe and remove these and if drag them down to read them further.
However, when I actually unlock my phone to go to my home screen, the phone screen goes black - I know the phone has unlocked because I can hear the sound effects when I press apps but everything remains black and I can't get the screen to come alive again until I lock the phone. If I double tap the home button, it will quick launch my camera and that works. So essentially the screen still works but won't show me my home screen or any apps (apart from camera), it's essentially blacked out until I lock it again.
I'm getting it repaired but am not able to do so for a few days. Any ideas how I can bring the screen back to life when I unlock the phone? I tried restarting a few times, leaving it turned off for a while and emergency mode - none of which worked.
I have a problem with my s7 edge. Whenever i call someone an the screen goes off, i cant get it to turn on. The sensor doesnt work and button pressing doesnt bring anything. I get a black screen till the call is ended and than i can turn the screen with the power button or cerntral button on. Is this a known problem? Is there a solution? Restore doesnt make it better. BTW i am not rooted, stock on 6.0.1
check maybe the proximity sensor is covered with something or dirty

The prpximity sensor is clean and i have no screen protector. It works the way it should when i put the phone near the ar, screen goes off, but sometimes when i move it away it doesnt turn on again, the power button doesnt work either. I hve to wait till the call is over than it works normally
i think a factory reset is in order!!! report back if fixed

I already tried factory reser, still this is random. I thing it has to do with greenify. I noticed even when I'm not calling, when the screen is off it doesnt turn on on the first attempt. I have to press thu buttons a couple of times to get it tu turn on. This is my first samsung phone and i'm already beginning to hate it. With my HTC phone i never had such problems. And the sensors work fine i run the sensor tests. It's surely a software problem
Yo,
yesterday I dropped my GS7E, it wasn't much of a high but the ground was pretty hard. My hardglass screen protector shattered a little but not really much, just the bottom corners of the screen protector got hurt.
Since then, my phone is not waking the screen up the first time I press the power button to unlock the phone. It its waking up but the screen stays black, I can unlock it by fingerprint while the screen is black and even take photos or open any app. I also feel the vibration.
So to fix it and actually get into the phone with screen on I have to lock and unlock it again. If I lock the phone after using it normally, it would work the normal way after unlocking it right again. But if I waited some time and I try unlocking, the screen would just stay black for the first attempt of unlocking.
Isnt that weird? xD
Just wanted to share that and maybe someone even got a permanent fix for that
What happens if you turn it on with the home button instead of the power button?
It wakes up the screen like it would normally do, but the first time I presss it, the screen stays black and I have to lock it again and then I can wake up the screen with home button.
Forgot to mention that.
Probably no solution to that I guess?
If I were u I reflash the firmware. Dont know if that fix it but i would give a try, u got nothing to loose
Hello guys.
I am experiencing two strange situations on my galaxy s7 edge.
First, whenever I unlock it to the home screen both buttons ( back and multitask) keeps on flickering/flashing randomly. They just turn themselves on and off all the time.
The only thing I manage to do was disabling them (with an app) , so they woundn't turn on at all.
Second problem, I can't seem to put the automatic lock screen mode, meaning that if I don't press the lock button on the side, the screen just stays on no matter if it´s on the home screen or some open up app.
I wonder if any of you had ever seen something like this before. It´s not a massive issue, but it has been bothering me a lot. =/
Thanx
