Hello guys.
I am experiencing two strange situations on my galaxy s7 edge.
First, whenever I unlock it to the home screen both buttons ( back and multitask) keeps on flickering/flashing randomly. They just turn themselves on and off all the time.
The only thing I manage to do was disabling them (with an app) , so they woundn't turn on at all.
Second problem, I can't seem to put the automatic lock screen mode, meaning that if I don't press the lock button on the side, the screen just stays on no matter if it´s on the home screen or some open up app.
I wonder if any of you had ever seen something like this before. It´s not a massive issue, but it has been bothering me a lot. =/
Thanx

I press the power button to lock the screen, then several minutes later the tab will go in an endless loop of switching the screen on and off and on and off again until I actually restart the device.
Note I can still unlock the screen and use the tab normally, but as soon as I lock the screen this loop starts, not always, but most of the tries.
Makes it damn near impossible to fall asleep at night.
Does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it ?
It's a 10.1v and I used Chainfire's method to flash and unlock and then rooted it. It has been doing this before the root/unlock/flash.
EDIT: Ok I found a more sure way to replicate this, any time I just leave the Tab to lock the screen for it self then this loop starts happening.
No matter which way I lock it after that, the loop of the screen switching on and off, just keeps going. When I lock it by pressing the power key or just leave it to lock it self.
It can be cause by any app trying to wake screen. Some media players have such a functionallity
Same problem
Having the same issue with my Samsung GT 10.1v
This is so annoying, I'm considering taking it back to Vodacom.
Are you guys experiencing LCD screen leakage?
I'm not to bothered with the leakage, as it's not a LED or AMOLED display. As for the Lockscreen loop I figure it would go away as soon as we can get an update to Samsung's 3.1
Hi guys.
Today I just updated my HTC HD2.
But when I reboot the phone, and press the red phone button, the phone freez and I can't do enything. But when i doesn't press the red phone button, it doesn't freeze.
What can this be?
What it can be is a real pain. My HD2 freezes whenever it goes into lock mode. Either by pressing the red button, or when it self locks.
I have found that I disable "Turn off if device is not used for . . ." setting in the Settings, sound & display, Backlight menu, I don't have a problem as long as I do not lock the screen by any method.
This is an issue that has gotten progressively worse over the last 2 months. To the point where it is very difficult to unlock. Many attempts and much time.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
Thanks

From my experience it is a matter of time for your touchscreen to die (sorry for bad news)!
Replacing it would be the right solution!
Good luck!

Maybe your buttons are always off because you have it disabled in settings...Go to Settings/Display and wallpaper/Touch key light duration and set it to whatever time you like...

Well then I don't see a problem here...unless your capacitive buttons turn on even though you set them to "Always off" ? The lock screen lag is there, but it isn't that noticeable to me.Sometimes it is, but rarely...
Our you referring to the faint flicker of the captivate buttons even with the setting off,I turned mine off but can see a faint flicker when waking phone up.
I take it no one else has this issue?
@alexowen @Raver27 @Ashatar I have same problem guys, captivate button flickers even when it is turned off when I wake my phone and second problem on LP is lockscreen lag which irritates me, when I lock screen first brightness goes down and then screen turnes off, this is hardware problem not software
I like the capacitive button lights, like it so much i set the time for: 6seconds before dimming. Tho i can understand if it flickers on n off instead of just an on, i would want it off too. The lag on the lockscreen must be like 2-3 seconds? i dont have ir on mine. It's like 1 seconds, which is nothing.
I've had this phone for two weeks, and so far I find that 100% of custom lockscreen replacements that I've tried have this problem, and I've tried about a dozen.
When I unlock the phone by pressing the power button or the home button, 10%-20% of the time the custom lock screen will display but the touch screen doesn't respond. What I mean by that is that nothing I do on the screen is registered as a touch; be it trying to unlock, click on a notification, or pull down the lockscreen. I then have to turn the screen off and then on again for the touch screen to work. Furthermore, if it's a lockscreen that can be bypassed with the home button, I can enter the home screen and STILL can't interact with anything on she screen until I turn the screen off and on again.
I have lock screen security disabled, so it's definitely not that. Anyone else have this problem or have any ideas on how to stop this behaviour?
Hi there. I'm currently having an issue with my S7 edge where the lock screen won't turn off after some time. The screen does turn off when I'm using the phone normally from the main screen after some time passes but it's just the lock screen I have issues with.
Whenever I charge my phone or just hit the power button once to see notifications on the lock screen, it'll just stay like that until the same time the main screen timeout configured time passes (5 minutes) and this is getting annoying and somewhat draining a little bit more of my battery. Previously it was working fine and the lock screen would turn off after around 10 seconds or so.
Has anyone faced any similar issues with their phones? I haven't tried a factory reset yet but I'd want that to be a last resort.
Clear Background apps.
It happens when you left some games or apps by pressing home button but it keeps running. Hope they will fix this soon.
Have you tried pressing that little button on the right side of the phone? That usually helps.
Yeah...I already tried that with no luck. Even tried uninstalling some recent apps in case one of them was cause but it didn't work either. Any other suggestions?
The issue isn't with turning the phone screen off by pressing the power button, it's the lock screen itself not turning off after a few seconds when it usually does.
I'm having the same problem, had good lock installed thought that may have been the problem but after uninstalling that I'm still having the same problem with samsungs oem lock screen. I too would like an answer or fix for this. also to note, in developer options the stay awake is off and no apps running in the background.
I am having this problem now also. The screen will lock, but the display stays on but dimmed. I can tap the screen and it will get bright. Now I must click the side button every time I set my phone down or the screen will drain the battery.
I'm facing exactly the same issue. When the screen is locked, it stays on for the same time confirmed to when its unlocked. For example, 1 minute, instead of 10-15 seconds.
Any workaround discovered for this?
Did anyone find a solution to this problem?
I thought that I might've been the only one! This problem only appeared on my phone after the Nougat update, and it's extremely annoying as I rely on notifications waking the screen for my main messaging app.
