Hi all,
I got my phone yesterday and moved from my OnePlus One to this new and awesome phone.
In my 1+1 while pressing the GPS (location) option in the notification bar its open a section where you can choose between the different GPS modes (off, device only, battery saving and high accuracy). While in this phone when you press the GPS icon its only turning on and off without any option changing the mode (I have to long press in order to get the settings and then change the mode.)
There is any way to make it the same as my 1+1? I'm gonna root my phone in a few days if it matters.
Thanks!
This option is in los, not in oos. Your oneplus one is on oos?
Long press the location toggle in the pulldown and you can change the GPS/location options you seek

I know that you can long press and get to the settings and change it. I'm looking for the faster way to change between battery saving and high accuracy.

So you have to switch Lineage, if you want that feature

you need to get into the system UI Tuner. To do that you’ll need to swap down your quick panel and long press the setting gear icon for about 7-10 seconds then you’ll see system UI Tuner at the bottom of your setting window next to the About phone setting. enjoy

thank you
Been trying to get System UI Tuner working on my Nexus 6P, I have developer options enabled but it just work. I've tried pressing for 2-3 seconds, pressing for 5, pressing for 10.
Also tried on Nexus 9 and HTC One M8 GPE with no luck.
Backstory: I don't use the stock android alarm clock because when I am half asleep I can't figure out what icon snoozes and what icon dismisses so I often dismiss my alarm and go back to sleep... no bueno.
Solution: I have always used circle alarm. It has features that I really like but is now due for a visual refresh.
Problem after Nougat upgrade: I have do not disturb modes setup for when I am sleeping. I tried to increase the notification permissions for the app to allow the alarm to go off but when I go to Settings > Apps > Circle Alarm > Notifications, the slider is disabled and says "App determines importance for each notification", so it is stuck on level 3. I have the setting "Override Do Not Disturb" enabled. Driving me crazy and have been late to work the last few days because of it SMH.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
when you go to its setting, tap on 'A' circle icon, it should then enable the slider.

I am an idiot. You are a genius. Cannot believe I didn't think to click that. Didn't even notice it was there to be honest lol. I blame it on the sender labels in gmail that serve no real purpose.
Worked like a charm though, thanks! Will test the alarm this weekend to see how it does
I actually found it by accident lol.
I had a notification that would cause an app to force close when it was set higher than the third slider. Just happened to hit it one day accidentally while adjusting.
/me shrugs.
Glad it helped you out!
Somewhat related note/question...
Has anyone on N had issues with Quick Reply specifically with Hangouts? All my other quick reply compatible apps works perfectly, but hangouts fails to send 70% of the time.

I am able to access the slider and change the settings. However, no matter which setting I apply I still have the peek notification on my screen. All of the other features of the slider work (lock screen behavior, sound, vibration, etc.). For some reason I cannot disable the peeking. At this point I am just curious if I am missing something. I can live with it as is, but just has my curiosity up. Thanks.
Press the "A" button to Edit the Importance level of Notofications. So intuitive, yet it would have taken me forever to figure this out. Thanks!

Seems that Google isn't your friend? https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/4-3-easy-lock-double-tap-status-bar-nav-t3222024
There are multiple ways, also with fp sensor etc. It depends what you want.
Hi.
My Huawei p10 lite doesn't allow to modify the color of the navigation and notification bars when opening any app. Apparently the color is locked (it's a dark orange) and app like navbar are not able to modify in any way the fixed color.
Only when opening "Settings" the bars are white and in home screen, where navigation bar is transparent.
The phone came with a telephone company brand (which logo, by the way, has same basic color of the navigation bar) but other customers I contacted throug socials that got the phone with same conditions from the same brand, seem don't have the issue.
Is there any idea how to unlock the navigation bar color without being root or go through other invasive expedients?
Thanks a lot,
Luca.
This happened to me when I asked Google assistant to turn on power saving mode. I got super annoyed by the orange colour. So I tried telling it to turn it off but it wouldnt, so I scrolled up on my Google assistant history and flipped the switch where it said power saving mode. As soon as I did that the orange was gone.

Thank you, I'm still get along with the orange bars!
Please, may be so kind to illustrate the procedure in detail? I cannot figure out how to enter the google assistant history. By the way, to my knowledge I didn't turned on the power saving mode, unless I did it accidentally.
Thank you for helping me,
Luc.

It only happens when asking Google assistant to turn on power saving mode. Try saying "Ok Google turn on power saving mode" and it might bring up a switch. If it doesnt, then to access what you've said before just say Ok Google or hold your home button then scroll up and keep on scrolling to find a switch. If there is no switch then I have no idea what the orange means.

Note that the orange stripes on the nav and notification bars appear on any app of my phone, except for Settings and home page.
Thanks,
Luc.
Ok, have you tried changing the theme?
If not, then let's start:
1st: Find your themes app.
2nd: Go to the "Me" tab.
3rd: Choose any theme (those on the bottom are downloaded)
4th: Tap on the theme you want and tap apply.
If you have changed the theme then maybe download a theme which changes the navbar? (If I find one I'll try to send it.)
Ok here's one: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15UOMMsz22_4NHnv0Ue2K5h_qxFH3zhvl/view?usp=drivesdk

It doesn't work, the orange is still there, at least applying your file. I've changed few more themes but nothing changed to the colors of the bars... :crying::crying:
Aww man... I don't know what to recommend... Maybe go to your local repair shop and ask?

I'm sure this is probably the Google power saving mode that is enabled. It shouldn't always be enabled, because it usually turns off once your battery is fully charged. Try installing Activity Launcher here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher
Open the app, on the top of the screen, tap on "Recent activities" and choose "All activities".
Scroll down until you find Settings > Battery Saver > Turn on automatically, and choose "Never".
Hopefully this will turn it off. If that fails, I'd suggest making a backup of your data, and doing a factory reset.

EDIT: It would actually be easier just asking Google Assistant to "Turn power saving mode off", and it should be deactivated. Whether you remembered doing it or not, you might as well do it anyway, before you go through all the steps I gave you. [emoji849] Doing what @ianorna said is the easiest method. It's the only way to remove it, and it might just save you from doing a factory reset.

I may be late in replying the post but if youre still having the problem theres an easy fix.
the bars are orange because your battery saving mode is on, and no not the huawei battery saving mode, but the native android battery saver, its buried in the settings,
got to
settings>Battery>Battery Uasge graph>Tap to open detailed graph
tap on the three dots button on top right corner> tap battery save>disable!
That should fix this :good:  :silly:
Hi guys,
I really don't understand how work permanent notifications on this device.
I'm aware we can manage them for each app from notification panel, and from "Notification Menu".
- I can't prevent a specific app to put notifications on lockscreen without disabling "All Notifications" on lockscreen from "Notification Menu",
- I can't prevent a specific app to appear in status bar :cyclops:
I've got a OP5 and I can tuneup apps like I want without problem, but not with this device.
Do you have any piece of advice or special app to use to do what I want ?
Bye.
[Edit] : Well, it seems that to be able to hide a specific app from lockscreen, I have to put a PIN/schema or some sort of security to have the option to hide on lockscreen
When you get notification, long press on it and there would be options. You can select more options, and there's an option for lockscreen.

Thanks, lockscreen option appears after I put a PIN code.
Last thing I have to find is how to prevent apps to put notification in statusbar.
The same way, long press notification and block all.

No, I don't want to block all.
I want some apps to put notification in notification panel only, but not in statusbar.
I have "services" like Tasker, Viper4Android, Mi-Fit who put permanent notification in order to stay alive (I suppose), they don't bother me in notification panel, but I don't want to see them in status bar.

Enable system ui tuner, enable power notifications in there and then you can set level of each app separately with long tap on notification. Exactly what you are looking for.

Many thanks, System UI Tuner was activated but I've not seen Notification option.
Last think I've to find is how to assign ''Menu Key'' to one of the hardware keys without having to install a third-party app (actually I have ButtonMapper) .
In Titaniumbackup I can't access ''Menu'' without ButtonMapper.

Yeah, it's hidden a little bit
For the button remap - it might be possible to remap the HW buttons by system files modification, though probably not worth the effort. With Button Mapper you have effectively several additional fully customizable "buttons" (double tap + long tap)..
