Vulkan? - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since snapdragon 810 supports vulkan api, are there any chances that we might get support too?

don't we already have? ? how you deduced that we don't have?

AICP 12.1 has it working, checked in ppsspp and AIDA

I tried to run Heroes of Incredible Tales (HIT) on max graphics and it says that the device is incompatible. But vulkan is detected with other apps.
I guess each Vulkan games has a list of compatible device and as the OnePlus 2 is never listed you can try to instal games but you won't be able to use vulkan and for some other games you just can't see them in the play store (example Galaxy on Fire Manticore)
To ensure if vulkan is enabled or not on a rom you're using search for the app called vulkan capabilities viewer.

I think we'll need to mimic our phones as one of those which are compatible.

N64 emulation on later versions of android

So I was doing a little research and I read a while back that n64 emulation was almost impossible on the current versions of android because that it wouldn't allow the kind of hardware acceleration needed to run it. Now I was reading that recently that gingerbread or honeycomb, I can't remember which, will allow more optimization of the cpu and gpu and allow more extensive hardware acceleration. Anyone think it will ever be possible? I mean if the iphone can do it why not a high end android phone? Any thoughts?

Nvidia tegra 2 GPU overclock

After some search in this propose I have found that Motorola xoom developers sucedded to overclock the GPU by 33% whick means clock speed of (442.89 ) mhz instead of stock (333mhz ) and a big boost in speed , knowing that we have same processor like the motorola Xoom can any developer here do this GPU overclock ,or should I post this thread in development thread .

this is a question about development so you put it in the right spot.
Sweet!! Let's see if we can get this for our GT's!

Even subsidies would probably be found.
I'm not a kernel developer ,I created this thread to. Get the attention of the developers to do the gpu overclock. In case they. Haven't Heard About it.

It is about the GPU, not the processor!
And no..... imo it's not necessary...BUT the important thing is that you CAN do stuff like that on android (along with tons of other tweaks as you know already).. And it is fun!!! (although there is always the risc of bricking ) Android rocks!!!

i don't think so , the problem with 1080p videos is not hardware related , it is with the drivers support for tegra 2 , the tegra 2 hardware accelerates certain format of 1080 p videos , but doesn't support others so some 1080p plays smooth and others don't , anyway i will asko on the motorola xoom forum if the gpu overclock helped them with that .

I might be wrong but the tab's screen resolution isn't capable of 1080p.

yes you are right it is a little higher than the 720p resolution but this has nothing to do with 1080p video playback the original galaxy tab 7 has (1024 x 600 ) screen and can play any 1080 p video
The tablet screen may not play 1080p, but when using HDMI out to a TV or other monitor, it would be nice to be able to output 1080p then...
Definitely would be appreciated to see task work his voodoo and incorporate this in his roms. That guy is talented!!!

I guess it's almost impossible to play ALL 1080p videos with the gpu. But it may be possible to play it with a fast software player. Did anyone try the Android VLC?
edit: just tried a vlc alpha. works, but only a few secs and veeerryyy sloooww - but it's possible (maybe other SW player?)

Riegos kernell actually doesent bring much of a gpu boost, so bump!
My both friends, Yoda and Google, told me about two links for the issue GPU overclocking:
one + two (the dev link for two)
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tegrak.overclock.ultimate&hl=en
I didn't really see anything about overclocking the Galaxy Tab GPU. The first link provides stock comparisons, the second references the original galaxy tab, not the new one (if you look at the developer's site).
The hardware should allow us to watch 1080p movies but the software dosnt use the hole hardware. so we have to wait till the software is able to use the hole hardware. thats my opinion.
Edit says: RieGo stopt to implement GPU OC because it is to unstable. "dosnt work"

actually, if the apps/games said it need armv7 instructions (such as NEON and else) to run. then there is nothing u can do to make the app run in armv6-based phone (well, maybe if ur a software engineer then u can reverse engineer the app, rewrite the codes to work in armv6 instructions).
but, if there's no such statement in, u can try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088980 , see post #6
u can try it by yourself, or look for other ppls work (remember, Google is your friend, especially for the first fifteen minutes )
and one more thing it's armv7 and armv6. arm7, arm6 is older arm processor model (or family), and armv7, armv6 is arm architecture versions. arm11 has armv6 architecture...
my advice: buy a PC with decent setup, live ur life in elder scrolls v: skyrim. u'll forget bout ur phone (well, except when it's ringging)

I always thought the only difference between the two was armv6 architecture has hardware support for double precision floating point arithmetic, while armv7 only provides legacy software support for double precision floating point arithmetic.
And of course as you mention neon giving it better singles.
They are not huge differences if you know how to port you could pull it off.

I am on swiftdroid.. Funny thing is when i was on UTopia, the game worked a bit

right now i am playing HD games on my phone
and they lag a lot..
Even on 2.2.1 it didn't lag...
I don't think swiftdroid ASIS is really that good
as the others..
i think rc5 is better
Sorry for asking again...
Could I flash a fastboot Tom on my phone using recovery if I created md5sum using terminal?
If so can anyone tell me what to type?

Hi!! Play armv7 games on armv6!
The first thing you need to play armv7 games on armv6 is:
1)Install Root explorer
2)Install Chainfire 3D(use "libGLEMU_Nvidia.zip plugin..)
3)Install super charger
4)Install CM7 stock rom
5)swap partition to 700mb to increase your ram by using Swapper2 application.
6)Install your games
7)Done
8)Enjoy your games!

[Q] Video Performance

I saw there are different way to improve video performance on W.M.
I read on Internet that my device has Adreno 130 GPU or GoForce 5500 (different sources).
---Driver Pack (2d and 3d)(by Neos)
---Turbo 3d and GfxBoost (3d)(by Chainfire)
---Diamond ATI Drivers (I don't remember)
1---Which of them impove video performances in the best way? Which give best results in benchmarks?
2---Can I install all? (I think no: it will apply only one of them...)
3---Maybe also the type of CPU change something? (arm/xscale)
4---Do you know other softwares like these?

Hi! Seeing your device uses either an Andreno or GoForce GPU (figure that out first, btw. Really important if you want to improve it) I'm wondering, which device are we talking about?

I have a Toshiba Portege G910.
I read that a guy installed your driver pack on it and performance are a bit better.
Ah, the Portege. Yes, this device could potentially benefit from the driverpack.

Thanks Neos.
Can you answer my question in my 1st post? (Are Chainfire's apps better then yours? )
I'm not sure if GFXboost and Turbo3D work on the MSM7200 chipset. If I recall correctly, @Chainfire 's apps are made on and for the MSM7201A chipset?
The driverpack is a collection of tuned driver files, which give a better performance on most MSM7200 devices. Chainfire's apps are applications to boost performance in 3D OpenGLes. (correct me if I'm wrong, though)
And the only way to be sure, is to test it for yourself. :good:

I was joking.
So does it matter the type of CPU and not the type of video/graphics card...
I will try both softwares but I will do an Hard Reset bewteen their installation because I don't want to mix different things.
I will use GLBenchmarks to do benchmarks.
Anyway Chainfire doesn't answer me.
I only installed GFXboost but i have an error "Unable to find concurrencemgr.dll"

I ask you because you have a lot of experience about these things.
Your driverpack improve DirectDraw (2d) and Direct3d (3d).
How can I also improve : API / GAPI / GDI / Qtv Display / OpenGL ?
Other phones have update versions.

[Q]Emulate armv7 on armv6 processors.

Can some devs starts project to emulate armv7 in armv6 like an app named bluestacks it emulates android on pc ,it emulates armv7 on PC processors which is x86,therefore we can start this project.

Slightly different on a pc - its actually using a real android sdk package and the emulator is part of the android sdk to test android system images - its just packaged in a nice end user way
No it cant be done - if you want to play armv7 games on your phone buy a new phone
Not Possible!

LOL its not possible! Only device with higher specs can emulate device with lower specs! Emulating armv7 on armv6 is just like parking a ship on a car, (vice-versa is possible)
Yeah it's not possible for all games but I know some games are ported to ldpi & armv6 devices.
Just search on Google for ports and maybe u're lucky there is one available..

only games that use the unity libs can be back ported easily - this game uses its own armv7 lib so cannot
