Airplane mode on ZUK Z1 - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Surprisingly there are many a developer on this extra-ordinary forum and none of them are able to find a solution or create a patch for Lenovo ZUK Z1 mobile?? My problem is:
Tilll now I was under impression that the aeroplane mode in OFF only but not getting the signals. Casually, even without sim I just entered a number and clicked on phone symbol, it showed me " To place a call, First turn off the Airplane Mode"
Airplane mode is already in OFF only, then turned it on and off again to have the confirmation.
Do, any of you developers have found any solution for this problem ?
Don't simply say "go to service center", as it will not work out and there the service people say "Change the mother board"
Let's have a permanent solution for this as 00s of users are suffering for months together with this problem.

Flight Mode doesn´t deactivate phone

When changing to Flight Mode the phone normaly should cut all data communication and switch off the phone hardware. In about 1 out of 5 cases this is not working properly. In fact I still receive calls even though the phone shows no connection. Yesterday I was sitting in a plane close to landing when my phone suddenly received an SMS. Not really funny ...
My observation is that the problem somehow seems to be related to 3G communication, i.e. if it is actively transfering data Flight Mode does not properly switch offline. If the problem is pending it is also not possible to switch off the flight mode. A soft reset is necessary to reactivate the phone.
Are there others having the same problem?
Any idea how to correct?
nope my one works fine just turned it on and tryed phoning it and it said switched off my answer to everything is hard reset
I should say that I cannot initiat a phone call when I've switched to Flight Mode but I still can receive them (as said in about 1 of 5 cases). And of course a hard reset is exactly what I try to avoid.
i phoned my nike with my house phone and it was turned off

Sim Cards not being detected

Help please anyone.
Earlier today my phone lost service...i wasn't too bothered as I was home and the wifi is still working well.
I thought there was no orange service! Turns out my sim card isn't being detected (nor is any other one i've tried)
I did drop my phone early...but it's in a hard back case and it landed on its front and this has never occurred before.
What to do? Will a repair cost a bomb?
check ur IMEI and baseband...
i gues they'll be unknown
yep unknown?
This just happened to me just few minutes ago. Try turning off your phone, remove battery and SIM. Re-insert battery and turn on without SIM. If your radio service is restored, turn off and turn on with SIM this time.
This seems to happen to me whenever I try to calibrate my battery using the app in market by NEMA.
I'm going to have a backup of my efs folder and root explorer app now because I'm scared.
^ thanks will try that!
My airplane sign is on though! and has been for ages now-despite airplane mode being disabled?
Lol okay so I have two issues...sim problem AND
the phone refuses to switch off flight mode (despite the fact it's not activated in settings) Wifi comes on but bluetooth won't as it's in "flight mode"-sigh
If you have some radio service restored, then there is still some hope:
Go into phone dialer, punch in *#*#4636#*#*. Then go in Phone Information, scroll down, and there should be a drop-down box selection there. Select "GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)". Wait few seconds. Hit your menu soft-key. Select "Select radio band". Select "Automatic", OK, then go back to Phone info Menu. Hit "Turn off radio", wait few seconds until you lose all radio connections. Then hit "Turn on radio" and see if you get your radio connections restored.
If you can't do any of the previous steps then your efs nv_data.bin file is probably corrupt or something. Try removing battery, wait few seconds, turn on phone without SIM, turn off phone, re-insert SIM, then turn on. Repeat instructions on previous paragraph.
If you're still SOL, then you need help from someone else. Try searching "efs restore" from the parent forum thread "Samsung Galaxy S II I9100". I found a thread with [FIXED] tag that may show some help regarding this.
My S2 is also in similar mode .. tried ur instructions but unable to start the radio please help
the same think for me
i had this with ke7 modem and when i changed to kh3 it stoped
Apologies for hijacking this thread but I have a similar problem in that I can't get a 3G signal either.
In my case, it happened when I was at my local cinema and I managed to pick up a 3G signal in there which I used to do a quick check of my email before the signal switched itself off.
Usually if the phone is out of range of a 3G signal, the signal would switch itself off then back on once the phone was in range of a 3G signal and yet, when I was back outside, I couldn't get a 3G signal.
I thought it was the SIM card at first but it's definitely not that. I finally managed to install VillainROM after much difficulty yesterday and it fixed a problem I had with the phone being stuck in Flight Mode but it didn't fix the problem involving not being able to pick up a 3G signal anywhere.

VS995 - No Service after getting wet

Hi Everyone,
I have a v20 that got soaked on an ATV trip. The day it happened the phone got a Yellow screen of death with a 4G application crash. Since that day I can't get service anywhere but the phone is fine otherwise. I read this page which mentioned getting to a hidden service mode where you can reset the radio( https://recomhub.com/blog/how-to-fix-no-service-on-lg-v20/ ), but I do not have the service mode it mentions when you dial "*#*#4636#*#*". I tried a bunch of alternate dial codes but I was never able to find this screen on the verizon version of the v20.
I've tried airplane mode, factory reset, restoring stock with LGUP. I assume at this point its a hardware issue, but I was wondering if anyone had anything else I could try. Does the verizon v20 have the service mode or another place to reset the radio (other than the standard airplane mode switch)?

Can no longer get LTE after touching the Network Mode setting

For unknown reason, I can no longer get LTE after touching the Network Mode setting. The default mode on my G6 is "Global", and when I tried changing it to "LTE/GSM/UMTS" it surprisingly switched to 4G. So I changed it back to Global to get the LTE back, but it did not work. I tried switching the data On and Off, restarted the phone (several times), switching to Airplane mode and back. None of the above helped.
After searching the net and finding no answer, I decided to call AT&T tech support to see if it's just something that got messed up on their end. The person told me to delete the default APN and guided me to create a new one and restart the phone. I was also asked to give the IMEI of the phone (probably because it's a carrier-free version). None helped to fix the issue.
The only things I can think of now to possibly resolve this is to reset the phone and even get a new SIM card. But before trying these drastic actions and losing several hours of backup/restoration/setup/tweaks, I wanted to get some expert advise from you guys.
I'm using the US997 model (boot loader still locked).
The reason I tried messing up with the Network Mode is because I've read from somewhere that the Global mode tends to drain more battery.
Thank you all in advance.

This was a long time ago but did you ever resolve this issue? I think I'm having the same issue except I can only get 3G.

Network problem with j5 2017

Hi
I'm writing here because I have tried all the stuff around the Web about this problem and nothing works ;/
So about the problem, the phone started to show "only emergency calls". The weird thing is that even on emergency calls mobile data is working without any problems.
What I tried:
1. Selecting automatic carrier selection and selecting it manually.
2. Factory reset.
3. Other Sim.
4. 2nd sim slot.
What helps, unfortunately temporally, sometimes for couple of hours and sometimes for 2 minutes. Turning on and off Airplane mode.
I'll try to go to Samsung and ask around for a warranty os upload or something but for now if you got any other ideas I would really like to try them and maybe fix my wife phone.
