Hi Everyone,
I have a v20 that got soaked on an ATV trip. The day it happened the phone got a Yellow screen of death with a 4G application crash. Since that day I can't get service anywhere but the phone is fine otherwise. I read this page which mentioned getting to a hidden service mode where you can reset the radio( https://recomhub.com/blog/how-to-fix-no-service-on-lg-v20/ ), but I do not have the service mode it mentions when you dial "*#*#4636#*#*". I tried a bunch of alternate dial codes but I was never able to find this screen on the verizon version of the v20.
I've tried airplane mode, factory reset, restoring stock with LGUP. I assume at this point its a hardware issue, but I was wondering if anyone had anything else I could try. Does the verizon v20 have the service mode or another place to reset the radio (other than the standard airplane mode switch)?

I have a Verizon galaxy tab. During the installation of CWM, my tab was locked up.
I used the recovery image that was mad by Clockworkmod during the process to get back to where I had started. When doing so, I ended up with no gps or 3g functions. The airplane mode is always on, and cannot be turned off.
I have tried installing a stock rom for the US verizon tab, with the same result, no 3g or gps and airplane mode locked on.
I am not sure what got lost in the recovery, and have not been able to find a answer in any searches I have done.
Any help on getting these functions back would be appreciated.
Same issue with Sprint Tab
I had the same issue with my Sprint Tab after installing a basic "Relax and Sleep" app. I fought it for 5 days with the help of Samsung and Sprint. We master reset and data wiped. We tinkered with multiple settings under the secret codes. In the end, Sprint said that they don't cover or service the device. They refused to swap out the device or do anything. Samsung said that I had to send it to them to repair and they would return it in 5-10 business days.
After multiple phone calls, I sent an email to every corporate email address I could find at Sprint. If I hadn't bought my Tab at a Third party vendor (Radio Shack), Sprint was willing to let me out of my contract. In the end I had to settle for 2-3 weeks without my 35 day old toy and a one month credit.
If you find a solution or the root of this problem, I would love to know.
What do you see when you type *#1234# into the phone dialer?
No phone dialer on a verizon tab, so I can't enter that.
Still looking for help in understanding what turned my radio off and how I can get it back.
Some additional information.
I reflashed the stock rom again to my tab. After doing so, I proceeded to re-download some of the apps I had on prior to the flashing. One of these is Z4root. When I opened the app to root the tab, it said the tab was already rooted.
This makes me wonder, is there any area of the file system that is not getting touched when I flash the new rom to the tab? If so, is this where the problem I am having with the radio being off, located.
Any thoughts?
Hi guys,
Ive had my Moto X for Tmobile for about 2 weeks now and I noticed that there are times when the phone would be stuck on HSPA+. The only way to reconnect it to LTE would be to turn off data or rebooting the phone.
Does anyone else have this problem? I tried a factory reset and it doesnt seem to resolve the issue.
Is my unit faulty?
Tuan
I have noticed the exact same thing, but have no idea what do to about it yet.
I spend a lot of time underground for work, losing all signal. I've found that it won't reconnect (even if you go in and search for networks) unless you reboot or, more easily, throw it into airplane mode for 10+ seconds and then come back out of airplane mode. I've had a few issues where I get stuck without data but have voice and the same process resolves it. I'm assuming it's all related. Really annoying when I go a few hours without data/voice when I don't check my phone and realize it dropped.
Well, where do we start...
Tmobile phone off contract- it's a d801 and I ended up going to cricket- LTE- voice/message- everything worked great after apn settings and a sim card
I went to the Bahamas and a cruise for about a week- no service except for WiFi
When I came back home- everything was weird and out of whack- it overheated a lot. data seems to be all right but it is overheating- I tried restoring the phone and upgraded it to lollipop, still the same. Voice Calls and reception is pretty bad indoors- I have the APN still in there, and the network stuff is all set to auto and automatic selection. What are your thoughts besides my phone may still be on vacation?
Also, my phone doesn't go into download mode anymore- i get the fastboot screen with errors
Also, the recovery doesn't work anymore- it get's ready to do something and then it throws up a dialog
And it's not rooted either
For unknown reason, I can no longer get LTE after touching the Network Mode setting. The default mode on my G6 is "Global", and when I tried changing it to "LTE/GSM/UMTS" it surprisingly switched to 4G. So I changed it back to Global to get the LTE back, but it did not work. I tried switching the data On and Off, restarted the phone (several times), switching to Airplane mode and back. None of the above helped.
After searching the net and finding no answer, I decided to call AT&T tech support to see if it's just something that got messed up on their end. The person told me to delete the default APN and guided me to create a new one and restart the phone. I was also asked to give the IMEI of the phone (probably because it's a carrier-free version). None helped to fix the issue.
The only things I can think of now to possibly resolve this is to reset the phone and even get a new SIM card. But before trying these drastic actions and losing several hours of backup/restoration/setup/tweaks, I wanted to get some expert advise from you guys.
I'm using the US997 model (boot loader still locked).
The reason I tried messing up with the Network Mode is because I've read from somewhere that the Global mode tends to drain more battery.
Thank you all in advance.

This was a long time ago but did you ever resolve this issue? I think I'm having the same issue except I can only get 3G.

Hi
I'm writing here because I have tried all the stuff around the Web about this problem and nothing works ;/
So about the problem, the phone started to show "only emergency calls". The weird thing is that even on emergency calls mobile data is working without any problems.
What I tried:
1. Selecting automatic carrier selection and selecting it manually.
2. Factory reset.
3. Other Sim.
4. 2nd sim slot.
What helps, unfortunately temporally, sometimes for couple of hours and sometimes for 2 minutes. Turning on and off Airplane mode.
I'll try to go to Samsung and ask around for a warranty os upload or something but for now if you got any other ideas I would really like to try them and maybe fix my wife phone.
