Hi,
How to sync my entire phone(Calls, MMS, Contacts, Photo, Video, Apps, setting) to the cloud for free other than using google account? google doesn't restore all my data onto the new phone.
Can unlocked Verizon phone use with ATT and H2O?
Thank you in advanced,
I don't think it's possible unless rooted.. I believe Hawaii phones can.. IPhone kills us on this one feature
You can using Samsung Cloud or via Smart Switch app.

Backup I'm talking about is in Privacy settings called "Backup my data"

Back up my data Check to back up some of your personal data to Google servers, with your Google Account. If you replace your phone, you can restore the data you’ve backed up, the first time you sign in with your Google Account. If you check this option, a wide variety of you personal data is backed up, including your Wi-Fi passwords, Browser bookmarks, a list of the applications you've installed, the words you've added to the dictionary used by the onscreen keyboard, and most of the settings that you configure with the Settings application. Some third-party applications may also take advantage of this feature, so you can restore your data if you reinstall an application. If you uncheck this option, you stop backing up your data to your account, and any existing backups are deleted from Google servers.

Sounds like it's just for if you break/lose/replace your phone. I doubt you can access whatever's stored via a web browser.
I personally have it disabled.

You sold your soul to google the minute you turned on an Android device...
This backup setting is not available to you anywhere online. But it backs up your settings, current wallpaper, etc.
I've been using this feature for quite some time (nexus 1 day 1 of 2.2) and yes it backs up all the apps you download from the market and transfers them to your new phone. It's automatic and a bit surprising if you forgot you enabled it. It did not work with my Vibrant for some reason but has worked with my NS, HD2, MyTouch (both 3 and 4g) and several other devices running 2.2 or better.

It doesn't back up "everything", it backs up select system settings, not application settings.
Would someone please suggest a solution to backing up pictures and or whatever files I'd like to store from my phone. I'd like to be able to sync directly frm my phone to the cloud. I know Hotmail offers the SkyDrive but I don't see anyway to sync directly to it from my phone. Gmail would be the ideal location but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.

Try dropbox.

Great, thanks.
I just found "MyBackup Root" (from the market) last night, and seems to be pretty nice.
It can backup / restore a ton of things including images, mms, call logs, home screen shortcuts, etc.
I haven't tested restoring yet, but a lot of reviews say it's pretty good.
The paid version ($4.99) has online backup support, but it seems it's limited to only 50MB (lame).
People are requesting Dropbox support (would be nice to see that incorporated).
=]
Thanks again!
For pictures, go with photobucket for it's automatic upload. It is essentially a set it and forget it types of operation.

Tht's what I'm looking for. When I had a Windows phone I used MyPhone. You could tell it what to sync and it would roll automatically. Unfortunetly they only offered 200MB of storage.
you've also got native, built-in picasaweb syncing you can use, if you haven't tried that out.
But ya, I use dropbox 99% of the time. Or a wifi FTP app (fireftp?) if it's a lot of stuff.
I have a bunch of contacts on my S6 phone. Most of them are on the sim card or in the "phone". About 20% of them are on my google account when I choose to display only google account contacts.
When I go to my accounts on the S6 and click on on my google account to sync my "contacts", It says "last synced" just then and there as you expect, however, it only syncs the contacts that are present in my google account, NONE of the new ones in my sim card or phone. I guess I have been saving new contacts to my phone rather than my google account, so what good is sync?
So when i go to my S5 and log in with the google account, it ONLY has the google account contacts present, and none of the other ones in the S6. I want to have ALL my contacts in my S5 that I have in my S6.
Furthermore, the S5 uses kies and the S6 uses smart switch, so I cant even work out how to sync the contacts on my computer and put them on the other phone!
Same for memos!
WTF samsung why did they drop KIES for the S6?
Search for Copy Contacts on Play Store

Thanks westwood. I already solved the problem using an awesome app called "phone copier" I did it via bluetootha and viola it did ALL the contacts.
Prior to this I spent literrlay 4+ hours trying to get my contacts from one phone to the other. There was simply no way to do it via offical means, or if there was it as so convoluted and unimaginative that its ridiculous. I tried using smartswtich on both the s5 and s6 via the pc. I backed up one on phone and plugged in the other and restored. Guess what. AGAIN only the 30% or so google account contacts copied. Then I tried smartswitch over the air via play store. Guess what the phones found each other, but then one of them said not enough space and closed down without even letting me see what was going on. HEY I only want to copy contacts!! What do you mean not enough space. Ridiculous.
Hi guys, i have S7E and i dont recall backing up anything on the samsung cloud app, however its showing me a percentage of my backup storage i have used. See the image.
I wanted to know, if i removed the account, would it delete my current data on phone, i.e. contacts, messages etc? Or only the backed up contacts, messages etc? Im not sure because niether i recall backing it up or niether do i want to backup anything on samsung cloud.

I use Samsung Cloud but I find it fails more time than anything, for instance I've gone into the settings just to see the last time it successfully synced and it was last month, iirc that was when I did a manual sync.
I might not be correct here but from what I read about Samsung cloud is that it will not delete the data from your device just from the cloud, as it just syncs it.
Edit:
I've just read this on their FAQ page so looks like you'll be fine....
Hi,
I'm about to get my new S8 and would like to copy all of my stuff from my old iphone.
I was thinking of using the SmartSwitch app that everybody seem to recommend, but all of my contacts are also backed up
by google, so I'm afraid that once I enter my google account details (during the phone initial setup or later) I'll get all of my contacts from the Iphone, and then when I run
Smart Switch for photos and all of the reset, I'll see each contact twice.
How can I solve it? I would like SmartSwtich to import my old data, but once my phone is set up, also would like
google to continue backing it up.
Hope that my question is clear enough and you are able to understand what is bothering me
It isn't a problem. My contacts are backed up using my Google account and when you will use SmartSwitch app, it will let you pick what you would like to back up, so no issues there. Another interesting thing to consider is that S8 has Samsung Cloud which also offers back up and this one does back up more than Google backup. It can backup your homescreen icon position, wallpaper, messages, call log, settings, Samsung Keyboard settings and other stuff including docs, music and so on. You can enable both, the Google Back up and Samsung Cloud.

So basically if my contacts are backed by google I shouldn't transfer them using SmartSwitch? (unchecked the contacts when I transfer data)

Right, don't check items that you don't want SmartSwitch to transfer.
