Good Day,
I'm trying to fix my brother's phone zenfone ze551kl
Initial issue: phone was rebooting on loading up to connect to wifi.
Factory reset was done via stock recovery & upon getting to set up page to select wifi, the phone reboots.
I tried updating via SD Card to latest MM firmware - UL-Z00T-WW-21.40.1220.2056-user & the issue still occured.
I then flashed TWRP via fastboot created a back2stock.zip with UL-Z00T-WW-1.17.40.1531-user & the same issue happened again.
Phone was never rooted & bootloader is still locked.
Any suggestions besides taking to service center would be appreciated as we do not live near any available & would be too costly to ship.
Try to search for an old raw of the ZenFone . I had the same issue with a ZenFone 2 ze551ml rebooting all the time that I tried to connect to Wi-Fi . I ended up flashing a really old raw and with the old raw it was able to connect to any Wi-Fi network without any issues. After that I I just update the phone without any issues

Hi,
I'm opening a thread because I just couldn't find any way to unbrick my device. In the past I used the FlashTool2014 to go back to the stock LP KDZ for my device.
I was in the stock rom when I decided to mess with the build.prop and then went back to the stock backup. When I restarted the phone it showed the LG logo, screen went black and never booted android. I could access the stock recovery but the Factory Reset won't work.
Then I decided to go to download mode, it connects and the PC detects it as an MTP device. I open the FlashTool2014 and it detects the device OK. When the LGUserCSTool opens it says the Upgrade stopped due to an error and the device stays on 0% and shows USER B70 in the console. I can press Retry, turn off the phone and reconnect in Download mode but the LGCSTool just wont push the firmware.
I suspected I had a driver issue so I tried using a clean win8 install I have for this purposes without success. I cant flash with the TOT method since the other LG Flash Tool wont detect the device in download mode when connected to the pc. This is really weird.
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Solved with another tot file (almost lost all hope), took me 20+ hours to download it, I'll better make a backup of this files on the cloud. Still having problems with STOCK firmwares but could install TWRP and get CM13 which doesn't give any problems.

Im so frustratrated cos i need to reflash new FW on my Zen3Max due to Bootloop issue but the PC wouldnt detect the device .. Tried many troubleshooting
- test my other zen3 using the same cable = ok
- tried Other Cable = Negative
- updated drivers
- check usb port
- the phone is charging (but sometimes wouldnt)
when in Luck it would boot to homescreen but when went off battery o tried to reboot, 90% it goes to BOotloop and would hardly work normally anymore.
FIRMWARE installed NOUGAT 7.1.1 (latest)
Factory reset thru recovery mode should solve your 90% bootloop issue. You will lose all your data though.
Also, your phone should be detected in recovery mode allowing you to upload the stock Rom zip to the internal sdcard and flash stock zips from the sdcard. You might be able to backup your data while in recovery mode too.
Hi I have my friends Galaxy S5 Neo and he done a factory reset and its ended up now showing Unauthorised Reset I have reflashed the latest software 6.0.1 with odin3 v3.13 with success but after this its still showing the Unauthorised Reset then I reflashed it with 5.1.1 with success and is still the same showing the Unauthorised Reset when it reboots and looks for the internet to get the gmail or Samsung info but says no internet connection, even though I have added my wireless key into the wifi network setting which showed connected
Do I need the PDA or the CSC firmware version for this phone
really grateful for any advise to get this back up and running for him
many thanks in advance
Once you flashed the firmware via odin did you go to recovery mode and perform a data wipe/factory reset?
guys , I'm at i don't know what the @%#%$ to do. I just bought this phone online and it is for locked . I am having the same issue, I factory reset and everything , but when it goes to connect to wifi or data. It never does it just keeps spinning and spinning never connects. Plz help. The old owner has given me his email and password to get past the FRP but I can not due to the fact I can't get past the connection part
I had this as well. I bought an S5 (not Neo) from eBay with that reported message (which the seller acknowledged up front)
Several fixes were available on YouTube, Google, and the rest. They all supposedly work on the principle of spoofing the phone to get past the lack of a browser, from which you can correct things.
None of those worked for me.
In the end, I had to prepare a USB stick with some recovery sofware on and boot the phone from that, which runs a custom APK to get you back to normal.
I know this is an old thread, but if you want, I'll try and find the information on the custom App on a stick.
PS. You will need a USBOTG cable, to be able to plug in the usb stick (or one with dual ports).

So, I was following this procedure in wanting to get past the device's dead-end when going in a fastboot mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk5pl2aE8IQ
I had to go through this method in order to install TWRP to the phone and subsequently even be able to flash a custom ROM in it. The latest version of the stock OS caused my phone not to hold a stable Wi-Fi connection for some reason which Asus did not bother to fix. Otherwise, I will not even consider flashing a custom ROM.
As it appears, the hosted files needed for the flashing is incomplete in that the "asdf.img" is missing. This resulted to a brick that caused the phone not to charge, not to boot normally, or not go to recovery/fastboot mode.
However, I could still hear a sound whenever I try to connect the phone to the PC and automatically prompts to install a driver but would not.
Any idea on how to fix this?
Sending the phone to an Asus Service Center is not really an option for me right now. So, please, do not suggest that.
Hi all. So I have a frustrating issue with my phone after having updated to the last official firmware from the Asus website. I noticed that the phone operation was very slow, so I decided to do a factory reset from recovery. Everything went well until I am somehow locked out of my phone via FRP. The weirdest thing is that instead of asking for google credentials, it's asking for a pattern, which I am correctly inputting but it refuses to recognize it. So now I'm stuck with a locked out phone. Am I SOL at this point or is there a way to get past this other than taking it to a service center?
Things I've tried that haven't worked:
1. tried to erase user config in fastboot (returned error FAILED)
2. wiped all data in recovery
3. tried to flash to an older version via asus flashtool but didn't work as the device isn't recognized
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok i had the exact problem the latest patch for the device , i manually updated to oreo 8.1, has some bug that sometimes it doesnt recognise pin or pattern after some reboots it recognized it but it's not persistent as it stopped working.
I was able to fix it by flashing an older version with sp flashtool. You need to download and properly install SPFlashtool and everything it needs then you have to search for an spflashable rom that it's compatible with the one you have.
