Any way to upgrade a nexus 10 16gb to a 32gb
Like replacing the memory chip? or salvaging a part from a 32gb nexus 10
Mitch
use the parts from my 16gb unit and make a good 32gb unit
If I was to take a broken screen and bad volume ribbon cable on a 32gb unit can I use the parts from my 16gb unit and make a good 32gb unit?
Is everything the same except the memory board?

Wait for another reply,but I'm 99% sure
I did buy a broken 32gb unit screen and cable.
Checked with the buyer he say I would swap the board out that's the easiest way I should have no problem.
I also ordered a new original battery
thanks
Mitch
I replace the 16GB System Board with the 32gb system Board. It was a direct swap and everything was the same.
Booted up and working Great.

Hey guys,
Just at my local office store and they were selling defective 2012 Nexus 7's for 5 bucks a pop! Great, picked me up two 32gb models, opened them up and surely enough, nothing.
Plugged them into a computer, the first one did nothing, second one's screen flashed then nothing.
Was thinking that it could be defective logic boards and I could get two for $25 each (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GOOGLE-N...erboard_CPU_Combos&hash=item5d4adfae9a&_uhb=1), just wanted to make sure that it's not something else and I dont waste more money?
Any insight would be great!
Thanks, Danz207
UPDATE: I read to hold Vol up/down and power button and the same time and one of them started charging, so I guess it works, just the other one thats dead now
UPDATE: Just a dead battery, they both work fine! Just bought a cheap battery off of eBay, you think that it would at least turn on and alert you of a battery problem?
i hope someone will be able to help me here...=(
I had this red light of death for awhile now and i couldn't turn on my phone at all, i've tried all possible methods that i could find online, such as pressing power + volumn down, unplugging the usb cable, cracking open the case and unplug the battery cable, replacing with a battery i bought from ebay, replacing my friend's nexus 4 battery, none of these have worked.
but i really want to turn on my phone and get my photos and stuff out! so i bought a screen cracked nexus 4, and i tore that apart, tried using its battery, and it's daughter board (the part that holds the usb port) on my nexus, but it didn't work. i hope the problem doesn't reside on the main motherboard, because otherwise im not sure if i could get my stuff out. is there any other possible way where i can make use of the screen cracked nexus 4, and turn on my nexus? perhaps use any parts or anything?
any help would be much appreciated! thanks!!
if mainboard of 1st nexus is dead, but has good emmc chip (where your stuff is stored), then possible you can swap emmc from dead n4 to cracked n4 mainboard, but that's not easy job and you need right equipment for bga chips soldering to do that ...

yes! that sounds like it, i might have to do that. i believe the emmc chip is good! is there any tutorial online on this??? thanks!!
youtube -> emmc chip replacement
but if you're asking for tutorial, please don't try that yourself - 99% you will have 2 dead n4 ...
Yesterday I picked up a used Nexus 7 with a bootloop issue.. spent $10 so I figured worst case I bought an expensive charger for my phone. Either way, it looks like the bootloader is locked and I can't unlock it. Everything I've read seems to point to a bad emmc chip. Would replacing the motherboard solve this issue (assuming the new motherboard doesn't have the same defect). Also could I replace this one (an 8gb) with a 16 or 32 gb board?
I changed my motherboard from 16 to 32gb. All went without a hitch. I got this one...

Good luck! ?

Did you just want to upgrade or was there an issue with the original 16GB? If it's good (and you still have it) would you want to sell it?
I assume my motherboard is zapped. I can charge my Grouper while it's unplugged but no device will recognize it. I made the mistake of upgrading my partition with this issue, now I have a fancy paperweight. Thoughts?
I just ordered an 8GB replacement motherboard from eBay, cost $16.99. I'm figuring I'll be into this thing for a bit under $30 if all works out so worth the gamble I guess. I'll update once it comes in.
My new 32 gb motherboard arrived, and I installed it right away- I felt like it was Christmas morning. Fast forward to closing the case, and I get no power. Not even a weak attempt. I went through everything, it's all properly attached. Still nothing. It's currently charging with no LED light on. I am not optimistic. Anyone have any suggestions?

I replaced my boards also.... Bought a used unit that came from a Nexus that someone had broken the screen on.... So, I received the frame with camera/speaker and boards attached.... only thing missing was the usb/headphone piece which I just took from my old frame....
Put everything together.... sealed it up..... plugged it in..... Nothing...... mild heart attack..... But then, I let it charge for 10 minutes... returned to the unit and pressed and held the power button.... and it fired up....
So, as I don't have a suggestion on if there is something internally wrong.... But sure, that the battery is plugged in securely and give that power button another shot after charging for a little while...
Motherboard came in yesterday, couldn't have been easier to install just have to watch the plastic clips on the ribbon cable connectors, I broke one on the old motherboard, if they are anything like the PS3 if they break you're SOL. The new MB was on 4.2 so I went through the upgrade procedure to 5.0.2 and wow it runs lollipop nicely. Also I ended up getting a 16gb MB so that worked out well.
Try and use a regular tablet charger, which I think is 1.3 or 2.3 amps and not one of the generic chargers which are lower - you will notice a huge difference in charging time. I'm using the tablet charger on my S4 and it goes from 10% to 100% in around an hour.
I managed to do 2 stupid things at once yesterday:
- I let my N7's battery completely run out, which meant that I needed to yank and re-insert the battery cable (Only way I can get it to actually start charging after it hits 0)
- When reinserting the battery cable, my fingers slipped, and I managed to break the 2 tabs that connected the wireless antenna to the motherboard...(%^&$%&^$%$)
So I now have a fully charged wireless-only-when-sitting-next-to-the-AP tablet.
I'm able to get replacement main boards for $30-ish for a 16GB board and $40 for a 32 GB one. The question I'm asking is: are the 32GB tablets less stall prone with LP/MM? Or should I just list it on eBay for parts? (The screen looks like new, the battery isn't completely worthless yet, and nothing is broken but the stupid copper tabs...)
Hi,
I need 2x exchange mainboards for a MTCD headunit... ir was originally shipped with android 8 i guess and was for a avensis t25 with a PX5 Rokchip...
Anyone who can help?
the original screw which are mounted on the side of the frame were damaging the mainboard and so it gota short....
