Yes. It was confirmed on another site. Odd this is supposed to be the latest security update but they did t update the patch to June.
I'd love to hear some theory as of what's in this new build of the same kernel.
hopefully it includes a fix for the massive battery drain problems I've been having since the previous update...
It sure didn't help my Wi-Fi problems.

It is unbearable. WiFi doesn't last but seconds before it dies.
It's bad enough that I'm considering turning the device in for warranty repair. Five feet from my access point, it constantly disconnects. Does this until I finally reboot my device or disable WiFi long enough. Also, months later I am stuck on 7.0.0 where my wife on a Pixel XL has 7.1.2.
The screen scratches very easily and they have not updated their ShatterShield display laminate to be available for consumers. I have brought this to Motorola's attention several times but they insist I turn it into Verizon for warranty repair service for a few scratches and be without a device as well as pay the deductible to have a Lenovo repair tech replace the screen because I simply cannot buy the lens and replace it myself.
I have been with Lenovo/Motorola since the original Motorola Moto X. This will be my last Motorola/Lenovo device. I simply am not happy with their latest Verizon flagship. I very seriously wish I had purchased the Galaxy S8.

I was getting disconnects, even after a wipe but I think it was because of how I configured my routers. Plural. I was roaming from one to another and back.
Not getting a .1 update sucks but it's not surprising. I've had LG and my wife had has samsungs that
skipped 5.1 for example.
And the screen just sucks. I got a tempered glass and it feels better and takes scratches better than the plastic.
I hope they do something different with the Z2. The Motorola software is rather boring. I find AOSP 7.1 has more features.
After the Droid Turbo 2 Shattershield screen, many of us knew to put a tempered glass screen protector immediately on the Force. But I agree the Shattershield replacement screen not being available is ridiculous. I haven't had any WiFi problems, but that would be maddening.
One thing I know it fixed for me, I was having a weird charging issue where the phone would simply refuse to charge on certain chargers until I rebooted into recovery and cleared cache. That problem has gone away now.

I would like to buy a shattershield replacement for a Moto Z Force Droid I bought used. The shattershield is scratched up and the order online always says out of stock. I do not want to send my device for a repair I can perform myself. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Has anyone had this problem before? I left my phone on the desk at work for 5 minutes and come back to my Nexus back glass shattered and protruding. I have been in touch with Google, they are trying to give me the run around.

Photos? Was it out of your sight for those five minutes? Sounds like foul play maybe?

Wow,
Was it charging? or something extreme running?
Did you change the thermal throttling?
I've never had this problem my phone can get hot, but I never thought it was close to exploding.
No foul play here , normally if I was reading a post like this I would assume the same thing but it is a legit situation. The phone was completely stock so there were no changes to the thermal throttling or anything like that. The phone was not charging. The phone still works as well which I was surprised to see. I have pictures but I'm not sure if I should post them until I get a resolution with google.

Pictures or it didn't happen.
Edit...saw the pictures. How long did you charge your battery the night before ? I've had this happen to older phones where the battery started bulging due to prolonged overcharging with ****ty USB chargers. These phones were plastic so the back didn't break but it protruded.
Like you said, the phones I had were still functional as well. The only symptom is that the battery lost a drastic amount of total capacity and would die fairly quickly.
whoa. how old is it?
Purchased Feb 2013... I charged it like I do every night, over night. Every phone I have ever owned I charged over night. We all know these phones don't last two days unless you barely use them.

Well they have RMA'd it after I wouldn't accept the following email as an answer:
Hello XXXXXX,
Thank you for contacting Google in regards to your Nexus 4. I understand from personal experience that when something happens to your device it can be frustrating. However, rest assured I'm doing everything in my capability to help get this issue resolved.
After consulting your case to our specialist team they have informed me that unfortunately any type of cracked screen is not covered under our warranty.
Your best option would be to get in direct contact with LG. You can reach them at 1(800) 793-8896 to see what options they may have available for you.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to respond directly to this email and I would be more than happy to assist you.
All the best,

Asked for a Manager 3 times, never got to talk to one, and then she came back the last time saying she has been told to send me an RMA and that if they get the phone back and determine that it wasn't a manufacturing defect that I would have to foot the bill. I said how are you going to prove to me that you guys have determined it wasn't a defect? Couldn't answer that question.
Wow. Keep us posted!

I'm no expert, but I used to play with RC toys and the swelling happens to Lipo battery..
The swelling are could be cause by
-over charging/discharging the battery.
-charging it the wrong way.
-physical damage to the cell.
In this case, I think is a manufacturer defect of the battery.
I remember we use to charge RC Lipo batteries in a special bag incase the battery explode/catch on fire during charging.
Maybe some who knows more about these lipo can chime in !

dont email them, call them directly. dont tell them the back glass is broken, tell them the battery is bulging, and that its bulging so much that it also cracked the back. call them many times if needed, youll eventually get someone to rma it. be nice when you call.

I've had my phone since Monday and have been noticing these two horizontal lines on my phone screen - one on the top left of the screen and the other bottom right. If I wipe them off they virtually disappear, but if I then put my finger over them they come back straight away. I think these are defects in the coating of the screen so that these regions attract fingerprints/oil etc more than the rest of the screen. Here are some pictures:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2w6pcsrmm8d4b31/DSC_0416.JPG?dl=0

I have been extremely careful with my phone and haven't done anything that should have caused this to happen. Anyone else noticed anything similar?
I had exactly the same issue in exactly the same places! My thoughts were that it was glue from the build process! Anyway I returned it to the store and they gave me a new one!

Wow, good to hear I'm not the only one. The placement of the lines seems to suggest the screen was maybe passed through rollers during manufacture and these damaged the coating.
I too wasn't sure whether the marks were residue or missing parts of the coating. To test this, I applied a few small drops of water to the screen and they bead into nice droplets where the coating is intact, but when I apply water to the affected areas it spreads out along the line, kept in by the coating outside the region. Here's a picture: photo on dropbox
This is pretty conclusive as far as I'm concerned. I hope the online store I bought my phone from is happy to replace it!
Me too! (P.S. Hi Whirlpoolian )
I edited your thread title to try to attract others, hope you don't mind.
I thought I had dropped it on the screen and caused it. But I know I haven't dropped of bumped it on the screen.
So I think for sure this proves it's a flaw. Let's see who else has this, and what we can possibly do about it.
Please post which version of G4 you have so we can see if there are any patterns.
Mine is the 815 from Taiwan. I've wet the screen to highlight where they are on mine.
I've contacted the place I bought mine from to see what they make of it, as I feel this is a manufacturing flaw that should be replaced.

Yep, mine's an 815 from Taiwan too.
Another very easy way to check is to wipe the screen clean and then fog it with your breath. The affected regions show up very clearly.
I've also contacted the place I bought mine from... haven't heard anything back yet, I guess because it's the weekend.
Yeah. I've had it too. But mine is on right top, and right bottom.
I will try to go to LG service center in Monday. Mine in the dual Sim version.
Not seeing it on my H811 from Korea. Tried both the fingerprints and the water drops and couldn't find anything. (For some reason my breath won't fog up the screen - maybe I'm a zombie or something? )
Mine seems flawless. Yay.
Hopefully you guys will be as lucky as I was and get a replacement! If not, you might wanna try seeing if this or something similar works!

Let me know how that goes. T Mobile stores are a ***** to get a phone returned.. Even when the phones are obviously flawed they'll try to warranty exchange it or tell you to pay the 50 dollar restocking fee.

Same problem. Those lines appeared on 3rd day of usage. There's at least 7 or so users who have the same defect with their screens on russian phone community 4pda.ru
I'm currently trying to convince the seller that it is a production defect so that I can have the phone returned... It's not an easy thing to do in Russia but I will do my best.
Wow, thanks for the thread. I checked and I have two lines, one at the top and one at the bottom. Didn't notice it on day 1. I have the 815 from Clove.

Hm, maybe someone should make a list which modells from which reagion are having this problem. I have several G4s here and none has this issue, H815 o2 DE (Germany) batch. This batch was released just around the 8. june, o2 customers in Germany had to wait until then to get the phone, maybe it is only in the first production batch of the G4s.
I just shipped mine back to Clove. Will get a new one sent once they receive it.

Then they haven't been working there long enough to remember the LG Rumor debacle, or the Palm Pre. When I was fixing rumors due to shredding flex cables and faulty charging ports, our manager authorized free replacements with brand new Rumor 2s, which broke... Just as much, really. Seriously, the original Rumor's port would snap off if a baby sneezed in the same zip code. I have nightmares about that phone and the 65 billion screws it had.
The Palm Pre had the Oreo effect, where the two halves would just start twisting freely, like you were taking apart an oreo. And of course, Palm wouldn't let us repair them, so we had to just swap them with refurbs. We had people that were on their 7th, 8th, 9th devices, but didn't want a different model because of Palm loyalty, and the fact that the Pre had a REALLY nice OS, as compared to early Android.

The forum does not seem to be exploding with this issue, most we find is this thread on it here and see my post lower down that links to sprint users. All of two pages
Things are quiet because LG is replacing the screens under warranty. In my market they offer a 6 month after purchase screen replacement offer. Samsung does the same as well. This means if this problem does not occur within 6 months then it ain't going to happen.
Knowing that this issue may happen and if it does all it takes is a simple screen replacement that too under warranty means i would be less excited if this occurred. An inconvenience to head off to the service center but at least i know i will get it back very likely on the same day because this thing is easy to repair.
Not knowing this can happen otoh would be frightening.
Will be interesting what Sprint will say when I take mine in tomorrow......I will show them this for sure if I get any hassle......I just want my phone!! Grrrr!!

It's a recall that only effected the Sprint, not necessarily CDMA as Verizon is not impacted, but something Sprint added software wise that created a hardware issue. The major symptom is the screen half snow or static, but other issues such as overheating, freezes, bootloops, stuck on LG logo during boot, touch response issues and network connectivity issues. This effects all models manufactured prior to 10/5/15, in which LG modified the hardware to not have an issue with what ever Sprint does with their software. Knock on wood, the only issue I have had is the network connectivity (average 30% without signal) and constant dropping signal and jumping between 3G and LTE. Kinda a pain in the butt, but I do have to say its improved with ZV6, even though not completely gone. Mine was manufactured May 2015.

Wow!
I'm with Wind Mobile (who's vague as an abstract painting about their release), but they're only giving out phones to new accounts.
The trick is to go to one of their corporate offices (which would be a "warranty repair centre") where they can't deny you a sale of said new device.
So, tomorrow, bright and early, this guy's going into town with the hopes that they have one in stock.
Wind doesn't lock their phones like other carriers do (not at all), so it's going to be interesting to see whether we can get full root on this thing or not (fingers crossed).
Who's going in on said device here in Canada?
Post phone lock states and whatnot to this thread! For science, and curiosity. :fingers-crossed:

Apparently the Wind shop closest to me is backordered on said G5 for at least one week, rep would not confirm anything else (still vague).
Roommate snagged one up at a Bell kiosk just as they got a shipment of camera modules in stock. He spent an hour there between the kiosk rep and on the phone with "customer loyalty" trying to get a better deal since he's been with them 10 years, and nothing came out of it other than the standard free attachment.
His phone warmed up a fair bit during initial setup and charging but he seems happy with it overall. His only gripe is -- why can't the camera attachment hardware buttons snap a photo while screen off?
I got mine - here in Manitoba.
Picked mine up earlier today with the cam plus module for free! I thought they were only giving these to those who re-upped for two years.

- But I did re-up. Sweet, fast phone with some refined MM goodness. Watch out for the edges of the screen protector.
The screen "tapers" or is slightly thinner at the edges/corners - looks like a recipe for frustration as the screen protector will not remain perfect for long. I noticed the after enabling Dev Options I have the "Enable OEM Unlocking" function. I have no illusions that anything would be this simple.....
Yeah but still no Bootloader unlock.
That oem unlocking is just part of os

my plan was to get the device as soon as it came out, but when I got our demo device in store, I put off my decision till hearing more about the HTC 10.
The things I have noticed with the demo at my store is
1: The module at the bottom does not line up with the device, it might not be lots but it is enough. Plus worry about the future if the gap will get bigger
2: Audio quality is really weak. After using the G4 for the last while, I find the G4 has better placement and a better speaker all together.
3: The phones "metal body" feels weird. It does feel solid but at the same time it does not. Hard to explain
Those are my main issues, now with the camera, I do like the idea with the wide angle lenses but i wish the dual lenses was to help with zoom. Also I wish they upgraded the 16MP shooter. Dont get me wrong, the sensor is great with the G4 and G5, but I would have liked to see it improved even more. One other thing I would loved to see is before the phone was even released, LG going to the different accessory makers to give them the module access so when the phone launched they had more modules.
I dont know, maybe I am just being nit picky but I think LG dropped the ball a bit on this one. My final decision will be when I get my hands on the HTC 10 and G5 at the same time.
Got mine on Friday morning. Comparing this with the G3, G4 and Note Edge I find this thing to be ultra fast. Camera is pretty good although bright, its very noisey. Audio quality is ok.
Waiting for a root method,. unlocked the oem part, hopefully we will see root soon, Cant wait to seeing v10 camera app ports and custom kernels with exposed stuff
Received my Pixel 2 XL earlier today. All was well for an hour. Then a vertical pink line appeared on the screen that got brighter and wider. Google support says it's a hardware issue and issued an RMA. Hopefully this isn't a repeat of my experience with the Nexus 6P that I had to RMA 3 times due to the battery issue before being issued a full refund.

This sucks!
Damn that really sucks. Just got my pixel XL 2 a couple hours ago...so far so good. Yeah I see the blue tint when you look at it at a angle...sucks but overall I think the quality is good
Damn that's definitely a defective unit
damn thats like the s7 edge pink line that appeared in the same spot
nice job calling google asap...
its sooo fun but damn it can be so painful being an early adopter
good luck man
That's T-Mobile branding. Lol
My wife's just had the same problem right down the middle of the screen.

10 minutes on the phone with Google and a replacement is on its way!
Ditto. I thought it was a unique problem but it's looking more like a trend. The line started out as pink on mine but turned white and got wider over time. Google sent a replacement and I'm sending the old one back today.

I had this same issue with my S7 which was a known issue, of course this happen a month out of the 1 yr warranty. Samsung wanted to charge to fix. Considering this screen is made by LG and not Samsung this is not good and the one common factor is they are both OLED screens. I suspect this is some kind of MFG or design issue with OLEDs.

Vertical Pink Line appeared on Google Pixel 2 XL after one month
After mounting frustrations with Apple, I decided to switch to Android & chose the Google Pixel 2 XL mostly for it's display (I use my phone for work, viewing surveillance cameras, for logging in to customer GUIs for troubleshooting). I've generally had a positive opinion of the phone, but after about a month, I unlocked the screen and a vertical pink line appeared (through the battery percentage indicator down to the "square button"). I instinctively power cycled the device & the line disappeared for about 15 minutes, but then came back and is now here to stay. I chatted with the Google support team, and they say they will RMA the phone, but want me to send this to them & once the warehouse recieves it, they will send a replacement. My mobile carrier (Bell Mobility Canada) is doing absolutely nothing to help me out. They want me to pay the full device balance (I've had it for one month & got it on a 2-year contract) before they'll exchange, even though the manufacturer is replacing it at no cost.
Very dissatisfied that I'll have to be without a phone entirely as I'll wipe this one, ship it, then wait for it to arrive at Google, have them send a replacement, then have to set up the new device.

Call them and ask about advanced replacement, they can put a hold on a credit card, but not charge you. The will ship you one right away, then you can ship yours back and they will remove the hold once they receive it.
worth a shot.
