Hey guys , it may sound weird but its quite dust and pollution where i live , but i had my s7 edge in leather backcover and front plastic protection because no quality tempered glass available here, so in edges there is some dust that gathers always and i clean it , but a strange and weird thing happens in usb charger port , firstly i can see much dust trapped there that i cannot clean due to it around inner walls , secondly there is greenish thing like pigment around its walls , and third the color around the usb charger port is scratched ! What could remove or scratch the color around it ? I never used anything other than its charger that came with box and usb on the go adapter that came with box , also to mention that green pigment was also around the charger's metal port that connects in phone , i cleaned it though . So should i dip my phone in water and clean its port with a small brush ? Or anyother advise please guys ...
Update : fast charging dont works now, but was working when i first purchased ( disabled it for heating issues ) holy s**t samsung ...
Update : just called samsung , they say its CORROSION DUE TO WATER ! WTF ??! They say its not under warranty and i had to pay charges if i want to get fast charging fixed ... they say if i dont fixed it now , the damage will increase by time ! How in the world did this could happen , when water didnt touched this !! Or this phone is a f***ng quality that even atmosphere humidity can do this ??! What can i do now ? Request to senior guys here .. please give me advice what to use or do because rubbing alcohol is good for cleaning it , but its not available here , any other good advice ? This is only two months old
I suspect that damaged color around usb port is due to that greenish thing .. where it comes from i dont know , but phone works totally normal , no heating issues or anything . Strange

Yep exactly what i was going to suggest, thankfully the s7 edge is waterproof
But what was this exactly bro ? Should i expect the worst that battery is leaking ?? And will be going to blast too ? Huh that was rather fearful , btw it is totally under warranty , so should i visit service center to make it checked?

Water resistant, and if the dip ruins his phone he's screwed so I'd hardly be recommending that to people.

Im not sure what it is bro from what your describing i assumed it was due to dust and pollution like you said. If the battery was leaking i dont think your phone would be working fine
Sure if you are worried take it to a service centre first to get it checked out if they give you the all clear it just needs a clean
Clean it with a q tip and some isopropyl alcohol. The phone is not waterproof contrary to some, it is water resistant and the difference is huge.
Ah yes , but paint job is really bad guys , this area was the only one where was no covering and paint is peeling away even there is no other thing in contact with it other than charger , which i connect with enough care to not scratch the outside surface , but this is really bad aesthetic , i am afraid using alcohol could make this paint peeling even worse, and really can water ruin my phone ? Even if it is water resistant?

not for something as simple as "giving it a dip" to clean it
i have and continue to use my s7edge underwater for cleaning & photography for months and its doing just fine.
Here is some info from Samsung about the s7's IP68 Dust/Water resistance
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00047867/
Ah , thanks bro , but regarding how color peeled off around the charger port that was the only naked surface of phone , i will rarely trust samsung as their ip 68 certification will be same in quality like their paint job quality

i understand your worry. it's an expensive device and although samsung boasts its water resistance unless you have extra insurance the standard warranty does not cover water damage lol.
You can try some cotton wool&tweezers / q-tip etc dampened with water to clean the port. Just make sure its dry before putting it on charge again afterwords
I find the cases i use tend to cause dust gathering in the open ports more.. maybe time for a new case when you are in these dusty/polluted place's? One that cover's the ports but still allows access(also wireless charging) like this http://www.poeticcases.com/revolutions7edge

I'm an Electrical engineer that designs for ip standards daily.
Go ahead but if it happens to get messed up they aren't going to cover it.
It's meant for an accidental dip only. I've seen many accounts of people who have ruined their phones this way, and and where his is showing potential signs of degradation it would be even more apt to failure.
I'm not trying to be rude I just don't want to see someone mess up their phone
Thanks a lot bros , and no extra insurance here , just standard warranty and thats why i will never be doing any water dipping , thanks for case advice @EasyAndroidPro and thanks for your info @crixley i must get new case and clean this up , but i still dont get what is this greenish thing ? I suspect fungi ? Lolz. I dont believe this was the end result when you try to protect something expensive , and inturn it gets fungi and due to this maybe paint has also peeled off too
Maybe any fungicide recommended too
Ok guys here are the pics , so what you guys think about it ? Anyone else experienced this?
No fast charging working anymore ...
Please any senior member guide me

This is what happened.....i was with my girlfriend, she took a pic of us, but with her long nails she scratched the chrome between the camera button and the black-glass like cover ....is there a way to cover it up o fix it ?!?!

I had a scratch also but I don't know why !... looks like the paint can be removed easily without even a nail
you can use a marker if your X1 is black as a temp solution and you can also try the scratch proof body protector from ZAGG ... didn't try it but looks helpful
Id be bummed too but nothings going to last forever. its just hard getting over that first scratch/damage, after that... it will be just another phone.
that should be a warranty issue up to a certain degree.
vodafone @ least exchanges those ugly phones
yeah so true....this scratch is killing me .... i can't help myself, keep looking at it....i treated my experia as a son but nth ....but u are right should get over it... regarding the warranty thing i bougth my sex1 from abroad, here in Egypt the mobile is not even out yet, so no warranty and SE my only chance was to fix that myself .... if smn managed to fix\treat a bad scratch plz tell me....thnx for the support

Im a truck mechanic, and i would love to look after my xperia its the first phone ive ever had on an 18 month contract so really dont want to damage it. But in my line of work there is no way it is going to stay scratch free or even dent free. and im far too lazy to change sip card back into my w960i every day.. i need a really good case. wonder if you get those snap on plastic ones for it. if not it will get an unrepairable warranty fault every so ofte

As an hopeless aestethic, I sure understand your pain. What really surprised me was that it could scratch that easily - to me it seems pretty solid.
Bad news is that the only way of fixing that is replacing the case - which is not cheap, you can ask your local SE how much would they charge for this, though you might wanna also check if someone like a small phone-trader or something similar won't do it for less - they usually provide the same type of warrantry and have just the same cases, though from my experience I can tell you that they tend to charge less.
As i said before the phone isn't even out yet here so SE most probably doesn't even have the spare parts necessary.....and wow a full case replacement only for the chrome part ....i thought that could be changed separately....
seeing this will be pretty costly i think i'll wait till the sex1 get a little badder before giving to SE .....praying that for that time the phone will be released
You should not be able to scratch the paint or chrome off with fingernails. That has got to be a manufacturing fault. Call support and have them fix it for you.

Fingernail is very strong, u know.
And yes, in many cases fingernail can scratch paint or chrome off.
event car paint with coating can be scratch by fingernail.

Even if it was a manufacturing fault, calling the support won't solve the problem, since SE there hasn't launched X1 yet, so it's not on warrantry (at least a one that would be viable in that country) and they just can't help here (at least not for free).

That's true, especially when a girl paints it with some high-tech liquid that's supposed to make it even stronger - then you can just pray that she's not gonna take your phone for a lil' photoshoot .
i've gotten a small dent on the chrome-list on my xperia :/
I have taken care of the device as my son.
Should I talk to SE? or should I just forget about the dent?
I cant understand how it happend :S
forget it. still, even you fixed that dent, time will come your phone will have dents again no matter how careful you are. if its just the batt cover, wait til its full of scratches then replace it when you get a chance to buy one.

Unfortunately that kind of damage (or in fact any kind of physical damage) is extremely rarely covered by warrantries and such, so as bad as it sounds - you have to cover all the expenses if you want the dents, scratches, cracks to disappear.
So, this phone is not for females with long nails !
keep the nice ladies on distance when using your pimp sex1 !
Hello,
today i accidently dropped my Hero into my toilet (no joke!)
I pulled it out and dried it and immediately turned off and removed the battery. I tried drying it with a hair fan and am waiting now but I am scared to turn it on again (happened like 7 hours ago...)
Do you think it's broken?
put it in a air tight container with some silicon granuals u get from paking or a load of raice and leave it some were warm for a few days b4 u try a battery in it
I don't think its alive, but before turning it on let is for 3-5 days inside a bowl of rise, so all water will be dry from the motherboard. Remove battery , cover , sd card and let the rise do its job.
I hope you get your phone fixed by that trick
I did this recently with my hero, but instead it was the bath.
First thing I done was take out the battery.
I then put the phone in a plastic container without the back cover or battery and covered with rice.
I then put this on top of a radiator and left it for 3 days.
This worked for me thank god. The phone is now cleaner then ever , only downside the watermarks are now red so no warranty for me.
I hope you have similar luck.
Thanks alot, I'll try the rice trick for now.

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to source three of '77H00668-00M' if you knew where you were looking. I can tell you that there are three of those waterproof stickers in the phone, and only one is visible from the outside. The other ones are located internally, one at the radio on the bottom surface, and the other at the top right, near the earpiece (all on the rear of the phone with the screen facing down). There's also one tamper-proof 'VOID' label to contend with, part number '77H00615-01P'.
For informational purposes only I do not condone 'warranty fraud'!
@anon2121
great advice if i only knew i how to put it in action, by warranty sticker are fooked, dropped apple juice on my hero
@fwers
Unfortunately that's the bit I can't help you with
Would you happen to have a similar old HTC device that uses those same stickers? If so, if it's out of warranty, a transplant of water-evident stickers (carefully so as not to damage them) may be possible. The 'VOID' tamper-proof one is slightly harder though, and you may need to just find a way to remove it without 'triggering' it. Usually, it is possible to remove these tamper-evident seals without damaging them, so long as you are slow and careful, and know what to do.
HTH
Hello again,
two days later i reassembled my phone - leaving it in a bowl of rice near the heating - and... it works again absolutely flawlessly
Thanks alot!

Well, that sorta killed the topic..
If it helps anyone else,
I wrote a seven step article to dealing with this in the future
http://tech-n-life.com/index.php/2010/02/7-steps-to-save-your-phone-if-it-gets-water-damaged/
Open the phone.
Get a 100Ml bottle of IPA(Iso Propyl Alcohol) or Spirit.
Dip the tooth brush in the IPA and clean the board throughly.
Then blow it dry using the hair drier.
Hi guys,
i accidentally left my HTC HD2 in my jeans, which i put in my washing machine. It spent 15 mins on full cycle, after which i managed to figure out my disastrous blunder and pull my HD2 and its batt out. Im extremely desperate to restore life back into my phone.I know HTC will not repair it since all 3 water indicators are pink. From a few online tips, ive taken apart the housing and the main LCM Module. I have placed these two parts in a container of rice. I have not stripped it to the bare parts as i fear i might ruin it further. Moreover, i have not submerged it in alcohol yet. the only thing ive done is flush out the soap with water(did that only for abt 10 secs though...is it enough?) and put it in rice. Its been 2 hours since ive put in in the rice. Im going to leave it in the rice for abt 2-3 days before turning it on(hopefully it does...).I really need help fast guys. Should i use alcohol NOW before putting in rice?...Should i strip it to the bare essentials?...Should i use a vacuum cleaner?...if anyone can help, please do.Im really desperate and worried here.I really love my phone...and please do not ask me why i did this effing mistake...im still hating myself more than ever in my life for leaving my HD2 in my jeans.tks alot for your time and i look forward to your suggestions.tks again.
PS:Also, after i pulled my phone out, there didnt seem to be any patches or bubbles of water under the screen.Does that mean the whole screen is flooded or no water went inside?...And i do see water inside the camera. So is the camera dead forever?tks
Well,
i once found a Nokia without a battery in a roadside-stream of water... after drying and powering it on it worked flawless...
the real thing you have to worry about will be the water in the cam module. i have no clue as to how get it out. i once had water in the speaker of a very expensive babysitter-device. i never got it out. never. it stayed in there for a year or more. it was toilet water. very nice.
what happens to your leo when it is in contact with water while the battery is connected? do you know that?
well, if not, this is what i know: the electrical current will eventually short some circuits and thus might break them. if you are lucky the shorts will not break anything. if you are not lucky, something will be f****.
then, the energy, metal and water will lead to some "galvanizing" effect i have observed before, meaning, some circuits on the board may build some micro-connections with a whitish coating. what exactly happens there is beyond my knowledge. i have seen it on some devices which had been exposed to water and energy for a while. i could still fix them by scraping (yes, indeed) that off with a micro screw driver, being extremely careful not to harm any print circuit or smd-parts. that is a tough nut to achieve, for real. its not easy.
I am unsure, how the CPU is soldered onto the mainboard. there is a guy here who created some heatsink for those who had broken solderpoints and heat problems. he had said that, if you want to take off the chip you need break it because there is some epoxy around it. that would mean its connections (the little ball solderings) are waterproof. that would already mean you only have to spend attention to the surroundings. that is very relieving.
you might want to check the Internet for a replacement camera module if you don't figure out how to get the water out.
Make sure you keep your impatience under control and don't power on the device with the water still in the cam. it will do damage. the cam has electrical connections too, remember.
If i was in your situation i would assume the phone lost and use it to experiment a little. this will eventually help people here.
what i would do is the following: disassemble completely.
take all parts that can withstand a certain amount of heat and put it in an oven.
power on the oven with not more than 40 degrees Celsius. make sure not to put it under more heat-stress as it will loosen the solderpoints at about 60 degrees i think, maybe even at lower degrees. i am unsure.
warm it up for a while so that excess water dries away fast.
then check the mainboard and other parts for hidden spaces where water could have remained unseen (e.g. the camera).
then check for the witish coating, some hard to see, nearly transparent layers of water and/or soap residue. i am nearly sure that this witish coating i once observed came from high chalk (calcicated) water. this would be removable physically (scraping) or with citric acid and a soft cloth.
now, what to do with the screen? well, unsure here. check for water. if you think its very dry just leave it and connect it.
if it contains water i would probabyl also just try to let it dry. i cannot really advise here since i have not disassembled the hd2 yet.
i only know that replacement screens are not too expensive. you should possibly buy a new one rather then risking to further damage the phone with invisible shorts.
i need to cook for my wife now, hope i could give you some input mate.
good luck with your device. bad story man. bad story...
try to put for 24h into an ermetic box (closed), with salt in lower part and rice on the upper part (1/4 salt, 1/4 rice, phone, 1/4 empty) and close the box
this method can remove the major part of umidity
you can try for 3/4 days replacing salt and rice every day and cleaning the ermetic box
you can try too with a little oven for 10/15/20 minutes (max 60° Celsius and without battery of course) but i think that salt and rice is a better method
of course if you're able to open the HD2 (i done it 2 times and it's not so easy), you can use an alcoholic solution to clean chips and remove oxide (i use a Flux NO CLEAN)
DO NOT POWER ON PHONE UNTIL IT'S NOT FULLY DRY
Update
Hi,
my phone seems dry now(after 2 days of drying).I have not disassembled it completely though. The LCM module doesnt show any signs of corrosion,A few contacts and wires look okay. Not sure of the condition inside the module. Before waiting it out for another day or two, can i ask if i can use denatured alcohol to flush out any impurities or residue left by the laundry soap? Will it do any good or will it do any harm? cus im worried the alcohol might wet the phone again, now that it is dry,or maybe spoil some components. Also, may i ask if any data loss on the ROM or any damage to the cpu is likely?Tks alot.
I dropped a old cell phone in water and this was the guide i used to bring it back to life...well most of that guide anyway as well as a few other notes I picked up.
1st.) you should never try and turn the phone on intill it has had time to dry, (48 hours min)
2nd.) take apart as carefully and best you can..so that you uncover as much of the phone as you can
3rd.) dont lay the phone flat. stand it inside a cup and pour rice over it till it covers it.
I had to let my phone sit for almost a week and tried it after two days and every day after that. On the third day it turned on but still acted really odd, with each day it acted better and better. finally after six days it was back to its old self.
Please also know to not use a heat source like an over, microwave or hair dryer. If you do use a hair dryer ONLY use the "cool" setting. Hot air can make it more difficult for you to get it back on its feet. You can use rubbing alcohol to try and clean up any residue left behind by the laundry soap. I've seen sites say to submerge your phone in alcohol but i would suggest to use a q-tip and wipe the inside clean as best as you can. Make sure you do this well, the alcohol will not harm the phone farther but its the minerals or other deposits from the detergent that will.
If its available, you should use an alcohol concentration of 95% rather than rubbing alcohol that usually contains only 70%.
I hope this helps you as it helped me. I was lost when it happened and didn't know what to do. I pieced together this method from different instructions found online and it worked for me perfect. If all else fails you can call t-mobile and do whats called an out of warranty exchange. Each phone will have a different out of warranty exchange price but I had to do this once with a old phone I had and at the time it was only $100 for that model phone (htc mt3gs). It could be much more, like i said it all depends on the phone.

thanks alot for the detailed post.I will definitely follow all the instructions in the above posts.I have already done most of them.I just have to clean my phone with the alcohol. Regarding the warranty exchange, there are many problems.Firstly,im not using T-Mobile,im actually in Singapore and my operator did provide a 1 year warranty, but sadly the warranty expired 2 months ago. Moreover, all the 3 water indicators and blazing red,and while unscrewing the modules, the 'warranty void' sticker was also torn through...so yep,im left with myself and the help of the wonderful members here.tks alot for your help so far.ill report back in 2 days time, when i power up my phone.
The phone that I sent back was the phone that had water damage. Four months after I took mine for a swim my charger port broke. I told them that the phone works fine but it does have water damage. I'm not sure why they didn't charge me the $100 they said because my water damage indicators showed bright pink also, still I was glad they didn't. Since your not through t-mobile that wouldn't work for you though.
If this comes to this, fingers crossed it don't but I have seen some with water damage sell on eBay around $90-$125. You might be able to sell it and then put an additional $30 to it to buy one that's in good working order, after all I bought mine on there for $120.

alright dude...but you mean your HD2 went for a swim? So did it work after that or was the broken charger port the only damage?...and regarding the eBay sales,i dont mind if i can get a good price, but i also need to buy another used HD2(preferably an unlocked T-Mobile one)..but lets just hope i dont go there...i want my phone to come back to life and wreck havoc on the iPhones and LGs like before
Yea after I did the above mentioned steps it work just fine. Then after a few months the charger port stopped working. It getting wet didn't have anything to do with the charger port malfunctioning.

Hi,
i am very pleased to say that my HTC HD2 is back alive and kicking. I followed all the useful steps provided by the very helpful members here and its working well. A few niggles of course, include a few patches of slight texture variation at the top of the screen if tilted about 150 degrees, but it is very hard to see otherwise,so no worries. Secondly, the mic is dead since no one can hear me on the other side. Other than everything is perfectly fine!...didnt expect such a recovery after that washing machine incident. So, thanks alot for your help and also thanks alot to HTC for making a good phone!..now,a small question.any ideas on where i can buy the mic module separately? tks alot
I would look on ebay. There is also several repair shops you might have some luck contacting. Here in the US there is a company call cellphone CPR or something along those lines that could probably help find and install the mic for you.

That's the thing.here in Singapore, most of the repair shops fear to dissassemble the phone and repair the components.those shops that do are not well established,so I wouldn't really trust them on my phone.my best bet is to send it to HTC,but I need to order the warranty and water indicator stickers from eBay,else they wont repair it.and I've checked eBay,they don't sell the Mic on its own.I suspect its a whole module by itself, but I don't mind soldering a new Michael myself.just can't find one.
It's a difficult job as the microphone is assembled to the main board found at the base of the unit.
This entire mainboard would have to be replaced and it houses the Qualcomm CPU and other items.
If you do dissemble there is a rubber black protector on it. Try removing it and cleaning it. Perhaps some dirt or something got in there and has blocked the microphone function.
Good luck...

if theres some dirt, theres gotta be at least some sort of noise audible to the person on the other side...i suspect the whole mic to be broken.anyway, cant expect all to be well after a ride through the washing machine haha...ill ring HTC and ask for the repair cost.doubt it would be anywhere near affordable though...
Well, i'm following this with great interest. I am very happy to hear how good the recovery went.
Kawshigan, please update the thread once you know what htc said. I'd be interested to hear too.
Thanks

I had ordered the HTC water damage stickers and the little void stickers for the screws on the back off ebay.
I know its not ethical but i just couldn't afford what HTC wanted to repair the phone ($185) so i got it back and
sent it to T-mobile instead. HTC told me if they find water damage on the motherboard that it voids the warranty
as well as if the stickers are red/pink. I don't know what they can trace on the motherboard or if T-Mobile is the
same but i didnt have a problem returning it to them. I was never charged the $100 T-Mobile said it would
be for a out of warranty exhange either.

It's not a module, it's just the mic itself, but you need some skills to desolder and solder it back on motherboard.
If you have no other solution, PM me your adress and I'll send you one.

Kind of true, but not for a skilled service guy (a 15 minutes job)!

Totally false!
It's pretty late here so i'm going to keep this simple.
I preordered a black s7 the day it was announced, got it on March 7. Had an s6 before.
It's amazing and all, but what was not so amazing for me was the water resistance.
It got pretty dirty after 1 day of use, so I thought it was a good idea to gently wash it with water and soap - Samsung claims it's water resistant, right?
As soon as i finished washing it, the phone started acting like I was pressing the volume down button. Shortly after that, it started showing the wireless charging animation, again and again.
I decided to power it off, I got my hair dryer and I ejected the sim tray ; was very surprised to find water all over my sim card and the sim tray itself. The water damage indicator/sticker was also touched by the water, making it turn from white to red/pink.
After heating it up with the hair dryer moderately, I powered it on. Surprise, it won't get past the "Galaxy S7" boot screen, like most Samsung Galaxy phones do in case water enters the phone.
It was rebooting after 10 seconds and doing the same thing. This lasted for 10 minutes. My biggest concern here was amoled burn in (google it if you don't know what it means). I managed to boot to recovery and power it off.
I waited for this phone a lot, 3 months to be exact, and turning it into a brick after 1 day of having it is not a good feeling at all.
I put my phone in a bag of rice and left it on the desk. 3 hours later (i had to go somewhere), I got it out of the bag of rice, and powered it on. It went to recovery, I chose to reboot to system, and it did boot. All the features and sensors were working.
Last night I tried rebooting it and it would do the same thing like it did after I washed it. Left it in rice overnight and today morning it booted up. So yeah, something is still broken, but at least I have it working now.
I think the soap caused the water to enter the phone.
I suggest you don't try to wash your phone like I did.
wow. so much for water resistance.
*edit*whoops didn't read the part about soap. yeah, only like lukewarm water they suggest.
Water Resistant, Not waterproof. Tell Samsung about this and they'll tell you all about it.
Water resistant means just that it doesn't mean that it is solvent or cleaner resistant, no cleaners ever just water I feel your pain sir I had to learn this the hard way as well.

Why on earth did you use soap? :silly:
Soap lower water surface tension and make water more intrusive though small opening I guess.
So don't use soap lol.

OP, you'll have fanbois jumping all over you wanting to educate you on water resistance and water proof like its rocket science. Point is that they are all wrong. IP 68 means you should be able to do exactly what you did - wash your phone off in water for a few minutes. These S7s just don't seem to be holding up to their IP 68 ratings (I returned an Edge because an underwater photo caused water resistance to fail and fast charging to not work anymore).
Feel your pain. Send it back under buyer's remorse and get another one.

OP used soap. It wasn't the water, it was the soap. Soap is a base and messes up all kinds of things. Possibly reacted with the nano coating or the seals.
I've washed my S5 several times with soap - and that is only IP67-rated. Should be fine.

A few weeks ago I watched a video on how Samsung obtained it's IP68 rating for the S7/E. The video explicitly mentions relying on the surface tension of water to keep it out of microscreens for components like the speaker. Lower the surface tension of water, and it will flow places it didn't before.
Lesson learned for all of us.

Apples to oranges. The two devices have totally different construction. Anyone who takes your advice with an S7/E is headed for the same trouble as the OP.
After checking out a teardown of an S5, I do see the difference speakerwise - the S5 have a selfcontained speaker, which can handle water - while the S7 doesn't and as you said, relies on surface tension. That's not good..

And the S5 doesn't have internal gaskets on an SIM/SD slot or it's USB port.

You should have learned at the physics classes in school that water does not conduct electricity, but as soon as you add soap it becomes a conductor. So you have shorted all the exposed connections, like the USB pins, headphone jack pins and what not. The water resistance of the phone is not based on protecting the SIM tray, the seals are between the SIM tray and the rest of the phone, so you also shorted the SIM contacts.
At least now you know

And that's why all my phone's features still work and nothing is damaged?
Thanks to everyone who replied to my thread, I went today to the carrier I bought the phone from (Orange)'s store and they told me to send it to warranty, and that's what i'm going to do. Hopefully i get my phone replaced, lol
It sucks that if i want it to boot i have to wait a day with my phone in rice, that also means bye bye installing new firmware which is the reason why i'm sending it to warranty since I always loved flashing custom roms, besides that I wouldn't really mind waiting a day for it to boot but I'm afraid that one day it will not boot anymore.

You don't have "buyer's remorse" where you live? Here in the US, we get 14 days (20 in some cases) to return the phone no questions asked for a full refund.

Hmmm, I could swear I saw somewhere that Samsung will look for the white tags that turn pink when wet. If they see that the tag got wet then they won't honor a warranty. Not sure if this is true but somewhere today I read that. I think it was that tear down of the S7 ifixit did. or it was a link from there.

You can see them clearly in this video:
I have an update, and I want to describe here exactly what happens every time I power it on:
Galaxy S7 screen -> boots straight into recovery.
Every time I reboot from recovery it does the following:
Galaxy S7 screen -> completely black screen -> Galaxy S7 screen -> recovery.
Every single time it enters recovery, it displays an android figure with two refresh arrows spinning, then displaying a yellow exclamation mark warning and shows the recovery options. Does it do this only for me or for you guys too?
I have tried to:
reflash the rom both via odin and kies
factory reset a bunch of times
wipe cache a bunch of times
I have done everything possible to get rid of ALL the water, and I'm sure there is no more water in it. I vacuum'ed the motherboard and left it in rice for 3 nights. does the same thing.
Warranty is also gone because the water damage indicator turned red/pink from white.
I think it's either permanent physical damage to the motherboard, or the water damaged the emmc chip and somehow corrupted the memory (???)
I also made a video of me powering it on, then rebooting it, but I'm unable to post it because new members can't post links until they've reached 10 posts.
also sorry for any grammar mistakes it's 6am lol

Actually by stating that it's IP68, it should mean that the device is indeed water PROOF. IDK why would samsung conflict the two things. If it's water resistant only, samsung should've stated that it's only IP67. False advertisement don't you think?
True story:
When he was 8, my little brother snuck our pet snapping turtles out into the woods behind our house and played with them in a muddy puddle. Thinking he would get in trouble for taking them out of their bowl and getting them dirty, he washed them with soap and hot water, which killed them. I was traumatized by their deaths, and have never used soap since.
So at least my S7E is safe.
Hello guys. I am worried about leaving the phone in my pocket while I work, because my job is a very active one, on a very hot country in the summer, so sometimes I see moist on the screen when I pick up the phone. I try to turn it with the front facing the outside of the body, but not always. I maybe paranoid but the speaker on the mxp lately seems to be with the volume slightly lower.
My moto e 2015 damaged the speaker this way, and had to be replaced. I know the mxp has some sort of water protection but not much.
Shall I be concerned?
What do you guys do to prevent this?

Burn it.
No,lol. Maybe some sandwich plastic bag or a snap/zipper bag wil do the job.
Poke some holes in your pocket to let the phone breathe

Haven't thought about the holes thing. But, putting it in a plastic bag, is even worse. Assuming you were serious about the post.
These are the times I think how nice it must be to have a full waterproof phone!

More ment the special made smartphone plastic bags. I have seen them before in stores around and these bags are ment for travellers to make it waterproof. What also could help is to wrap the phone in a cotton towel so the sweat/water gets absorbed into the towel instead of the phone.
Oh! Haven't thought of that. Thank you all
