New Firmware QF1 released 6/28/2017...June Security Update - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 General

QF1 released, June Security update. Some outlets say there are bugfixes and battery optimizations, probably just a security update.

Just updated mine.
Nothing new.
Same old story

I keep getting notifications of stuff like this, yet I accept and nothing seems to apply or change at all. I just wanna know when one of these updates will stop my phone from rebooting 3-4x a day!!

go back to LL, you won't have that issue.. I recently went back, and will not be going back to MM again.

I don't suppose there's an OTA way of doing that bs having to usr ODIN? I figure if I'm going to go through all the trouble of ODIN that I may as well just root and do custom ROM, kernel, OC, etc etc.

How many people haven't got the OTA update as of now

I haven't got the OTA update as of now wonder if it is me or other people haven't received the OTA update as well
Haven't seen it and I think a lot of us are in the same 'waiting' boat
I'll give it another day or I'll just do it manually...
i havent yet but im not to concerned, it did say untill the end of the week some people may not get the OTA update. gotta be patient, its hard tho lol.
It's rolling out in batches guys... like thisguy10 said... no need to be concerned. You'll get it eventually.
Well i am glad to know i am not the only one who is waiting
I got tired of waiting and did it manually like 10 minutes ago its very easy to do.
p.s. on unrooted n1
Hope this helps, updating without root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=627533
Can anyone verify if being on wifi would impede getting the update notification?

I wonder what factors prioritize whose phone for the update? I'm located in Asia, not in one of the four countries Google'll ship to even, and I got my update really fast. So it can't be geographic-based.

this guy wins the thread...
seriously i just did this earlier and it took 5 minutes tops? its easy to do and you dont have to wait around for the nice new features
I haven't got anything. I'm just wondering if its an email notification, text message, whatever, and how the order of rollout is deduced.
It's a system pop-up. You can also do the "About phone -> Check for system updates" to find it.

Could this be because you, as I have, have unlocked the bootloader?
Will we get the OTA update when the bootloader is unlocked (unlock symbol showing when booting)?

Seems to me that on factory images you would still get the OTA updates. In my experience, I've always been prompted before updating.
However, on Tmobile in the Cleveland area, not OTA yet.
didn't get OTA. saw update available through diff ref to engadget, immediately came here, found file, installed.
i heart xda-dev

I got impatient and got a link off Amon_RA's twitter for the ota update, downloaded, renamed to update.zip, installed update through the stock bootloader (all on my phone i might add)
I still haven't rooted my phone, making sure there's no flaws before I do. The native multi-touch is pretty flawless. Seems to take care of some signal loss and the constant missing of the bottom menu buttons. (or maybe that's just my imagination)
i havent got the update yet and my phone isnt rooted...
haven't got update yet.

When is the Mytouch 2.1 OTA coming out?

is there anyone that knows when its scheduled to be released? im so tired of 1.6

No official date has been released to the public. Any reply concerning this stating otherwise is unreliable and should be considered theoretical. To justify this please understand that there have already been several rumored release dates that have already come and gone. Most recent of those were "By the end of April."
If you're so tired of 1.6 you could always consider rooting your device and installing an Eclair rom. Cyanogen is currently testing his CM-5.0.7 release on MyTouch/G1 devices. For being experimental, I must say that it seems pretty solid.
Well I work for myself and have no ties with google t-mobile and htc (other than I use thier products) and I can say for sure that it will be released on May 1st 1956 pick up sticks. No lies this will be the release day.
There you go tell your friends just don't go telling anyone where you got the info.
Never. If you want to update your phone you have to do it yourself. So set aside like 8 hours of your life come here and read up on the Devlopment fourm on how to do it. It's definitely worth investing the time into rooting your phone.
I really wish people would quit asking this. Unless somebody finds a MAJOR Security hole in the original stock firmware this phone will never get an OTA update.

TMobile disagrees with you. They have 2.1 OTA updates planned this spring for all phones.
so what..even if t-mobile does OTA this device it's still be a Stock rom. It's still not going to be able to do what it can really do by him actually taking time out of his life to put 2.1 on there today. So why have him wait for T-Mobile to get around to pushing out a lesser lower quality OTA versus him just putting the latest Custom Rom on it like Cyanogen's right now?
Morrolan how about you do a bit of research before you speak. T-mobile said the by the end of April, not Spring.

Whenever they release an official ROM, most 2.1 ROMs will be rebuilt. They'll actually have a fully functional ROM that was actually MEANT to run with the Dream/Magic.

Funny how it's May and the updates are not out to the phones. The latest press release said "spring," not "April." You might want to follow your own advice.

Disable OTA

Is there a non-root way to disable OTA updates on this thing? I don't want any ATT patches before djbliss releases his bootloader hack...

Best way to avoid it is not to update when there is one. All my phones that had OTA's never updated unless I told it to upgrade.
I was looking for this info also...I have seen on other phones freezing a couple things in TiBU, but wanted to be sure what the S4 procedure was.
I believe current gen phones force the update...at least that's how my optimus G was..it would notify you of the update and then you could decline it three times before it went into a countdown timer and automatically attempted to install it.

Have had nothing but Samsung phones & they never auto updated with me initializing it.

I ignored the notification for a day or so and it applied it overnight without me pushing anything. I woke up in the morning and there was a notification that an update had been applied.
Right in the middle of my battery use experiment too.

The AT&T update forced it's way in overnight when I got it and postponed it and now I don't have root anymore.
I just saw a Samsung Update Push! Anyone see that just now?

New Verizon Update Nov/8/2016

Just got an update for my VS995 about an hour ago. I haven't had time to look up what it's all about but it's still 7.0 although the security patch is updated to October 1st.
Figured I'd start a thread about it so others can confirm they got it and perhaps someone can share a changelog.

Got this update a week ago when I bought my phone.
Sent from my VS995 using XDA Labs
Damn, and here I was hoping we were going to get an update to improve the camera a bit.
Last time they pushed an update, they took away a feature I used (app pinning in recents). Anything missing that you've noticed?
Any improvements elsewhere you're noticing?

I would expect that in a major firmware, if we get it at all. First couple updates I would prese would be security patches and/major bug fixes.

I really want to take them to improve camera, and whatever else. But, afraid I'll screw myself on BL Unlock if I do.

Android N Security Patches

To some this may seem like a stupid question. I've been doing a lot of research but cannot find a valid solution or answer.
Is there a way to incorporate Android N security patches into Android MM?
I could have sworn last week during my "I'm way too tired to be on my phone" sessions that I came across a web post of a ROM with that very same idea in mind.

Android N security patches are to fix security issues with Android N. The patches wouldn't work on MM.

Makes sense but I wonder if it's an issues that's present in Android dating back to a previous version, if it could be implemented on MM.
My main reason for these questions is because of what appears to be the pesky software issue that's bootlooping devices. If it turns out to be software, it would be nice if we could then implement the fix on MM as well done folks are experiencing it on there as well.

Why not just upgrade to Nougat? It's pretty mature at this point and is getting monthly security updates. Are you using Xposed?

Battery life hasn't been great for me on N. And now with my job being more mobile(on foot) and constantly having to be on my phone, I had to go back to MM just to make it through the day. Thought about getting a Lemon battery pack but turns phone into a giant brick, lol.

You could try a custom ROM and kernel to get better battery life if you are concerned with Marshmallow not getting security updates.

Yeah I've tried a few different ones but still don't do good on battery compared to MM. I was actually never one of the people that got put battery life on N until 7.1.1.
