Hi.
My Jiayu s3 doesnt connect to any of my pcs. win xp 7 nor 10.
I tried many drivers., connecting it while it is turned off but never got the SP FLASH tool to indicate that it's connected to my phone.
I want very much to update it from 4.4.4 to 5.1 at start since it has many problems..
Can I do it with the phone only - without connecting it to a pc?
is the a FRAMEWORK UPGRADE - with just file donwloaind on the phone itself and then using the UNCLE tool to
load it?

Do it as you did before, but before connecting to USB hold both Volumen buttons and leave them after you see the red bar in flashtool appear.

no luck at all:
it opens a menu with 3 options - recovery .. etc. on a black screen (like when I press volume up)
or opens with chineses menu ...which I already with some tests etc. (like when press volume down)
when not pressing anything - it starts charging...
I never got to see a special behaviour for 2 volumes press together.
I treid to reinstall the vcom drivers... preloader..
they always install with a yellow mark on them - in the device manager
help!!!!

Hi guys,,, just bought myself a X10i to play with,,, figured I,ve flash the thing with a rom from the developers forum,
This is where I came unstuck,,,, cant for the life of me get it into flash mode.
Instructions were as follows
1 With fone OFF. Hold down back button and insert usb cable, green light comes on and hit enter. What bloody enter, on the fone or on your keyboard. I,ve tried both, fone just keeps on booting into the main screen, nothing even resembles a flash mode screen. Tried this untill my thumb nearly bled.
Someone help please.
Read the tuts in the dev forum. P.S. no custom roms yet but there is root.

Try hold down "back button" without battery then insert USB cable and then insert battery.
When it says to hit enter, that is to continue from the screen (on the PC) that says "press any key to continue" when you are doing the steps for rooting. If you don't have that window ready the phone will only stay in flash mode for about 5 seconds and then it will continue to boot. So, just make sure you are ready with the PC before entering flash mode.

My phone is also x10i.I have trouble to enter in flash mode.It shows up the green LED but flash tool says it occurs error and plug your phone in flash mode.

check drivers (install SE PC suite and let it atleast detect the phone once in FLASH mode)...
also it might help to disable any antivirus (worked for me)

I know this post is pretty old, but still I'm struglig the second day now to get into flash mode and still no luck despite trying every method there is on the web.
I've got Xperia X10i mini pro, reinstalled standard ROM with PC companion just to make sure it's nothing with the software or any modifications I made to it.
I'm guiding myself with instruction given here:

in order to get my bootloader unlocked
what I've done so far:
-installed Android SDK incl. SDK Tools, SDK Platform-tools, Google USB driver package. Not installed any API from SDK.
-put android_winusb.inf (18 KB size) in C:\android-sdk-windows\extras\google\usb_driver
-in general- everyting given here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Install_the_Android_SDK#Windows

in my opinion meaning it works as it should.
So I turn the phone off, unplug the cable both from computer and the phone, take the abttery out, plug both end of USB cable where these should be, hold the Back button (tried with Volume up too) and put the battery in.
The result is it only goes into flash mode for several seconds (confirmed by SuperOneClisk log) and then goes into charging mode. nothing gets displayed on the screen. Only when PC Companion is on it detects it, than looses it and pops up with a window on how to properly connect the device... :/
So can someone please tell me what I do wrong?
Why it doesn't stay in flash mode?
PS. when I enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu, after pressing the last * the numbers just disappear and nothing happens...

I wanted to flash a Original LG rom to downgrade my device from Mango Beta 2 to PreNodo, but if i connect my device with my PC nothing happens and the LGDP2_V36_UMTS.exe shows nothing (no progress bar or something). In some other forums the say i have to set the LG Emergency Donwload mode (Volume+Power+Camera) but there happens nothing than,,ColdBoot,,

press start on lgumts_36 bla bla bla.... then connect phone. usually t will connect to com 3
"Usually will connect to com3" is completely meaningless.
That depends on hardware and software configuration of your computer.
boot it in emergency dowload: camera, volume down and power.
Both volume down and up will send you to Cold Boot wich means factory reset
i researched on xda and the whole google articles but found no post as this....
i literally cant enter into lg's emergency mode.. tired many methods and button combination no use...
tried to use kdz but device not found...
neither when i connect i get to hear the new hardware sound

1.-uninstall the drivers and programs lg l7 on your pc.
restart your pc, and reinstall all programs and drives
for your pc to recognize the phone.
2.-remove the battery, press the power button and volume + and connect the phone to the pc, buttons go into emergency mode
Try this a few times.
you may need to perform step 2 more times
why are you trying to enter emergency mode ?

what are you trying to do with your phone to begin with ?
what system are you running on your pc ?
assuming its windows
do what he said and then see if any unknown devices (or with yellow triangle) in device manager.
post results

i was running the stock version rooted on my phone.. i was doing a shutdown procedure to complete 2nd partitions script mounting. after shutting it down my phone never started. dats y i tried getting into the emergency mode to flash stock rom if in case of soft brick..
im using win7 and stock rom on my phone. moreover on connection with my computer it doesnt recognize my phone now...

is your phone in bootloop ? or does it display blank screen ? (black or white)
did you try to remove sdcard ?
did you try to hard-reset ?
can you try to remove anything related to lg from your pc ? (all programs and drivers)
do you have qmemo button on top of volume buttons ? you can try to enter safe mode (most scripts will not work in this mode so you might get lucky)

I try to install new ROM throw SPTool and cannot enter Download Mode. I went through multiple tutorials and nothing worked. I cannot do through recovery because it a great update from Android 4.4 to 5.1.
How can i enter download mode? Is there any button combination to enter? I dont want to enter recovery, I want DOWNLOAD.

It dont works. When using phone volume up and down works well (if you think it could be broken).
Now you see that i searched and didnt find a solution.

Why you wanna use DOWNLOAD?
From 4.4 to 5.1 you want to use FIRMWARE UPGRADE with SP Flashtool.

If you want to update system from 4.4 to 5.1, you will use firmware upgrade option in SP Tool but need to put phone in DOWNLOAD MODE. This is done with many Android phone brands (LG, Samsung, ...).
Thank you for your response. I got download mode finally. I only need to connect usb without battery and then put battery in. Many tutorials said to put battery first and then connect usb.

The single way my phone connects is if I keep volume down pressed longer. Even if it appears to be connected in SPFlash, still keep volume down pressed until the first FORMAT action in SP. Also, change the usb hub and the usb cable you are using. Sometimes it helps (in mine it did)
my s3 basic is not charging when on.. also when connected to pc thru usb, ipc shows device malfunctioning ,and there is no indication on phone..I try to connect to sp flash tool also no success..same error"usb device not recognized pops up every 2s.everything else is fine..Any method to upgrade to 5.1 now on official kk

hi, guys, again sorry for not write in german, but i dotn know your beautifull language.
i've modify 2 su files and now when i try to reboot my jiayu s3 adv, only shows the "tiger on a rainy day" image and dot not go further, and to shutdows only by removing the battery.
Please help.....how can i revert this situation?? i try to connect to the pc , but the pc do not detect the phone (my ideia was to explore the "interneal harddrive" and revert the changes...
please help!!!!
and by the way... what's new and good for the jiayus s3 adv???

if. I remember correctly you can use spflash tools and force the phone to be seen by pc. You can achieve that if pressing Vol + button while connecting the USB cable.

if you use the windows 10 search google, how to install mtk drivers.
