I thought our nexus 4's came with Li-po battery. By pressing *#*#4636#*#* then going to battery information I found this.

as you can see on the battery technology it says its a li-on. My question is does any of yours say's this aswell? or is it just me

Mine says li-ion as well, cpu-z also says li-ion.

I think that this is code mistake, because programs take that info from device files where it's stored (idk how program can watch it in other way). Our battery is Li-PO, because that said in specs. Google can't lie to users.

It's written on the battery that it's Li-ion. Boom .

Nexus 4 utilizes li-ion polodium. It's mean that li-po battery

Use Root Explorer or Equivalent.
(Can adb or command pull/ push with line if your know how inside twrp or on pc)
DIRECTORY: /etc/floating_feature.xml
Open it and Scroll or search until you see the capacity String value ...
Change it to the MAH of your desired battery.
Disclaimer: Any edits being made to batteries, charge speeds, % values, etc , can cause fires,

Theoretically, to make use of a larger capacity battery or else it'll show the same stock capacity regardless of it's real capacity.
Now I don't know how it is For S7/Edge or Samsung devices but I previously owned several HTC devices. The last I had was One S and it could accomodate the battery from One XL (same size but bigger capacity). Many have tried and replaced it but even the new capacity was shown correctly, phone wasn't using it at full. After researches it came out that, for effectively using a bigger capacity battery it was needed a new kernel compiled to make use of the new battery capacity.
My point is that, you might need that as well here and I really doubt that anyone can compile from source a kernel for Exynos that can contain such changes as I know that sources are proprietary not open. You might fit a bigger capacity battery but it could be that you won't benefit from it's increased size

There are reference files in the kernel ...
They reference battery capacity...
They are based off of a capacity % value
Basically an of/if command ... so in theory...
(Update: the theory was correct)
And a framework.res edit did suffice.
The file inside of framework-res res/xml/power_profile.xml
referenced a 3600mah battery ...
And the purpose of this is of course...
an aftermarket , fully synced , and properly programmed battery @ larger capacity 4200mah
To track all stats natively in any android rom
I use my device pretty heavy with it....
Background youtube, pandora, games, etc...
Stock S7 edge kernel/boot.img , modified build.prop (TeKHd Rom)
Also calibrated battery after changing the capacity values

You will also need tools to do so... (watch youtube for a guide on the hardware change)
Once you have your battery installed... you need to be rooted to make the edits... there are two references you need to change (in images i posted)
After the edits... run your battery 99% dead... do a calibration (apk on app store can do this)
Then let it die.. charge it to 100% while the device is off

This is my second time purchasing the same aftermarket battery... first time I installed it into a G928A (s6 edge plus)
Now ive installed it in this device... ive gone several months without seeing charge/discharge loss...
But heres the next question... say... you go through 2 batteries a year... 15$ each....
Would that not be worth the extra phone on time anyways?

Fair enough, but how do you really know it's 4200mah instead of the regular 3600mah?
After the Note 7 fiasco, people tend to be more careful about aftermarket batteries.
My question regarding this modification ist: Is the phone still waterproof after opening the case?

Any battery lithium... copper core... can overheat and cause what happened to the 7 line...
And this device claims to be water "resistant" ... but people were testing new units and ruining cameras... so...
I went with a ghostek atomic 2.0 case ...

They do make the adheasive with backglass replacement... but im content with my device ...
Longer batter... no overheating issues (2nd phone using them)
After doing the edits and the battery swap with the battery sync... big gains..
I Would Do this Experiment Again

Did you even found bigger aftermarket batteries? And did you ever tried to test the battery and his capacity before implementing them? I often have the feeling they are faking the written numbers on it

you can break out ohms law and calculate power
( find something that runs off the same voltage , and run the tests yourself for discharge rate @ hours )

im sorry my english isn't that good but i think the capacity of this battery is not related to the user nor there are many variables.
Probably i didnt used the right words but what i was asking for is for example:
Connect the battery to a constant current load and measure the time it takes to discharge the battery to a certain voltage.
Capacity in Ah = Current in Amperes * Time in hours​
that would give a good overview of the real capacity without using a fishy app or harassing a post

sounds great and lets see how long your battery needs to be replaced. really interested to do the same.
As usual, BetterBatteryStats and Gsam Battery Monitor are among the first apps that I install on my new devices and I often use them to check what apps are eating my battery. The two apps worked perfectly on my non-rooted S9+ running OneUI (Android Pie) with some extra adb commands, but on this S10+ they both don't work; BBS says "No stats have been collected yet", GSam is laggy, only shows the %1, %0... and drains my battery like hell during screen off (4-5%/hour).
So has anyone succeeded in making any of the two apps work? Or are you using another app with the same function?

I'm running AccuBattery and CPU spy reloaded, both apps report that my phone never goes to deep sleep, but I can't define what causes it
The actual values seem to be fine, though. Mine uses under 1 percent per hour over night after disabling the sonos app - it is a disgrace ever since. Exynos, 512GB S9+.
I'm running accubattery and in my case it DOES register deep sleep. So the lack of feel sleep for some might be caused by another issue that actually blocks the phone from deep sleeping

had the same issue no deep sleep. but this solved the issue for me follow this steps.
go to settings - general - reset - dont factory reset - but reset all other 3 options. 1-network reset 2. accessibility reset. 3. all settings reset then redo the settings as per ur liking it ll fix the issue.

What is your messured battery capacity? Mine is 3650-3700...of 4100...wtf?
I had this same issue, and I uninstall accubattery, install it again, and reset the battery calibration reading using that code after I cleaned system cache on recovery *#0228#, yesterday I decided to turn the device off as I though my battery was going full crazy downhill drainingtown (joke) and turn it on, left it on airplane mode overnight with bluetooth on, and it has not stabilise and accubattery does report deep sleep. Also I check the battery every 2-3 hours to see how is the drain. Running since 5 am european time at 34% now at 11% and it is 11:45 AM european time as I write this post

If it's based on charging from like 60 to 100, or 25-85 % and so on, it will only show you some rough estimates, far from real capacity possibly. 1-100 % charges are far more accurate. For what i see, Samsung is bullshiting with the 4100mAh capacity, or controller software is limiting it to about 3700-3800 regions. In the menu it clearly says- 4100 typical and 4000 minimum capacity...

It works on mine too, but only the basic stats. The problem only appears after the adb command is made. Have you used the command to enable more stats yet?

Don't forget the basic li-ion battery rules, one of them is that at least 5% of your total charge will be kept as reserve in case of overdraining, about 200mAh of your battery in this case are there to keep your battery rechargable, every battery powered device works like that, no need to accuse Samsung of anything regarding that aspect.

Sure...but i messured 3500 mAh on phone turned off...bit too much of a difference, hm? On the other hand, messuring iPhone 8 gave me almost exactly what was stated , the same with 20000mAh powerbank, messured even bit more...so i'd just encourage others to test and compare. 3h20min SoT also seems weak tbh...

Yes, mine shows the same. It has shown around 93% since I got my phone. There's another post with several people claiming the same.

Accubattery does not work for showing an accurate battery % on the OnePlus phones.
Well known issue that has never been addressed, so don't use it for that.
You could manually set the battery size to be the same as it is showing to monitor wear, but that's about it.

Answer - 3c battery
I have looked on Google and found a few things but none lead to edit the battery capacity. There is a capacity file but it is for percentage. I have a 4200 but always shows 3200 in apps. If I can change file maybe the phone will act as if I actually have an upgraded battery, or am I just thinking in left field?

Accubattery will read the correct size and give you all kinds of neat statistics

That dont at first either, I have to set it to be 4200, at first it reads 3200. I have a Shemmz btw that are known as good aftermarkets.

I need or would like to set the reading so that system/ all apps can read as the 4200 or what ever is needed to be entered for value from batteries. A file edit. Any app that I have seen reads from system and not the battery itself by default.

Now if only able to get the currently being used battery's profile somehow
