I thought our nexus 4's came with Li-po battery. By pressing *#*#4636#*#* then going to battery information I found this.

as you can see on the battery technology it says its a li-on. My question is does any of yours say's this aswell? or is it just me
Thanks in advance
Mine says li-ion as well, cpu-z also says li-ion.

I think that this is code mistake, because programs take that info from device files where it's stored (idk how program can watch it in other way). Our battery is Li-PO, because that said in specs. Google can't lie to users.

it's annoying that you can not use sd card when the remained power comes less than 10%!
you know on wizard you can use SD function even there is only 1% power!
does anybody know how to modify the registry to resolve this?
thanks!
You should not be using the phone when the power is this low. The Universal needs more power than the Wizard, it has a different processor and hardware and therefore different needs.
The power consumption of your SD is always a factor and that differs depending on your capacity and brand. Why you were using the phone at 1% battery is beyond me. I do not recommend stressing it this much. Just my 2c.
Either way there is key in HKLM\Software\Drivers\VPD where the message is shown but I wasn't able to find any place to change a setting.
at least, writing an SD card needs more power...
Dear,
thanks for your reply....yes 10% mean very low power.
but if possible i would like to change the number to 2% or 3%...cause i'm using a 3200 battery.
Ahhhh I see now. I'll try and find something... will post if I do.

Jesus, i was just reading the first link and its says that:
"A lithium-ion battery provides 300-500 discharge/charge cycles"
is this true, if so then my battery will be kaput after a year?
on an average, it will last for almost 2 years, if used properly(like u shud nt fully drain the battery)

In my case, 1 year is acceptable. after one year, you can buy a new one or maybe you would change your mobile phone.

Dear Joan,
Thanks for your links! it's really interesting. after read it, i realize it doesn't make any sense to change the number.
Coz I'm using a 3400 nickel battery and a 1600 Lion battery. for the 3400 battery, I only need to discharge and fully charge it
once every 1-3 month!
Glad I could help
Anyone had heard about this new battery if yes any feedback?

What is the capacity of the stock battery? I am impressed by how long the stock one lasts, but would much rather have a super capacity battery in there for an even longer run time.
IIRC, the stock battery is 3260mAh.

Correct, and there are actually 2 of them.
So does this mean we can have a pair of 5000mAh batteries? That would be awesome!

Actually there is only one, but this one is 2cell battery. Li-Po batteries come in cells, one cell is 3,7V. So you can build them like legos. You can add cells in series to increase voltage (1S 3,7V, 2S 7,4V, 3S 11,1V) or in parallel to increase endurance (1S 3,7V 2500mAh + in parallel 1S 3,7V 2500mAh = 1S2P 3,7V 5000mAh).
Is there a teardown guide for our tablet?
Yes, several of them.
So would this battery have a longer life than the stock battery?

Theres two 3260 bats. In teardowns it looks as though its one because both are together.
Nop. Only one, but inside this one are two cells. So only one battery.
Theres two 3260s. Not one. If there is only one 3260 I doubt our tabs would last as long as it already does. Call it one or two batteries whatever, like the specs say, 3260x2
Look. There is only one battery 7,4V 3260mAh 24WH Li-Po in our Iconia. Inside this battery are two Li-Po cells each 3,7V 3260mAh connected in series so capacity remain the same only voltage is doubled. My laptop has 9 cell battery but I'm not saying that I have 9 batteries. You can google by yourself for battery code 934TA001F you'll see only one baterry.
Ok. Sorry. Geegz. I still love you.

It's annoying, isn't it? So many people today just don't know the difference between a cell and a battery. Makes you wonder what they hell they teach in science class these days...
For those who get confused... A battery is ONLY a battery when there are multiple cells inside, linked either in series for parallel. If there's just one cell, then it's NOT a battery, it's a cell.
has anyone tried buying this yet and see if it works

They didn't teach about batteries in my science classes in highschool, nor in college. That was all in an electronics class I took for my ANSI certification.
Good luck buying one, minimum order is 100. I wonder what price per unit is, I'll email them and check details. I've made orders through them before, it's not too bad.

Please try using MUGEN Battery Calibration app available on Play Store. I think at least once you need going thru it.

Our fuel gauge chip is preloaded with battery model parameters that describe a 2500 mAh battery - a 5400 mAh battery probably confuses it slightly. Currently there is no way to change the model parameters used by the gauge - Maxim's ModelGauge algorithm is highly proprietary, calibration parameters are delivered for a device manufacturer's given battery to Maxim customers. The good news is that the algorithm is flexible enough that only minor glitches occur when the battery is twice the size the gauge was designed for.

No, it won't do anything. No app can do ANYTHING to calibrate our battery.
If you actually read the source code for our fuel gauge driver at https://github.com/Entropy512/n7000...er/drivers/power/max17042_fuelgauge_u1.c#L603 , you will see that there is ONE input from userspace into the fuel gauge subsystem, and that is "reset". That is ALL that is available - resetting the fuel gauge in the same manner as a power cycle.
Hello, Just wondering if is good to calibrate battery or wipe stats. I've switched roms a few times and want to maximize the life of my battery. Also, I read that it's bad to let battery drop below 15%, is this fact?
Have a great day!

I don't know if it's a fact but yes, it is widely believed that constantly letting it fall to like 10% or less is bad for the overall life of the battery.

Wiping battery stats / calibrating does nothing beyond a placebo effect. I know that lots of people will run down their battery all the way, but it's actually hard on li-ion batteries to do that. I had a lengthy, informative article on this at one point, but now I can't find the link.

For me, using the root calibration apps has not been placebo. I have actually seen and measured benefits after calibrating. I know about that article from some Google engineer saying it doesn't help but it really has worked for me. I used the calibration app by nema in the Play store.

It was proven by a Google guy that calibrate just deletes battery stats. Which is what happens when you charge up to 100% I believe.

The galaxy s4 comes with a heavy 2,600 mAh battery but in my case I don't think so that I've got exactly 2,600 mAh of battery. The rate of battery discharge in my galaxy s4 is same as in my other device with 1,450 mAh battery. In my other device, each percent(1%) of battery drains after 2 minutes of usage on wifi while same goes for my S4 whose discharging rate is same(1% per every 2 minutes).
What do u think I should do? I've bought s4 second hand and the condition of battery doesn't seem good, I mean not very bad but its just fine. Moreover in my country(Pakistan), there is no one selling genuine battery even not big mobile markets.
Is this caused by my battery being so old?
Probably.

I don't have NFC in my status bar, and my battery is original.
If you can't send files with NFC, then your battery is most probably fake.

But can fake battery be spotted by any physical appearance..? Like something written on battery like"Made in Korea" etc or any other thing?
If u also know any other difference, mention that too. It'd be really helpful

It's hard to spot fake batteries just by physical appearance. Even original batteries differ in appearance from one another.
