Do anybody know how to keep the S8 screen time out always on? It seems like the max i can leave my phone on without the display turning off is 10 minutes. I am running a app that mines on my phone, and it needs the phone to always be on. Help anyone?

Yeah nice huh? And it's not empty yet, I think I will get more then 5.5 hours screen time when it hits 1%.
I did all the normal stuff. Mainly browsing and like customize the phone and stuff.
No gaming though. And about 6 hours airplane mode
Heb de witte btw ;-)

why is cell standby so high.......looks like web browsing and some music was your usage while connected to wi-fi.
Seems alright to me, about in line with what I got with my Galaxy Nexus and i9100

Isn't cell standby allways high on android? It was on the S2.
Edit: I think you confused it with normal standby. That's 3% ;-)
Had wifi on all the time.

I think it matters a lot what your brightness setting was.
Please let us know.
And if it was 'auto' tell us your estimation what the actual average brightness in use could be.

Not to knock you but 6 hours of airplane mode will do wonders for your battery. I once ran my Captivate for 4 days in airplane mode...

I will dump my HTC One X immediately. It is amazing to get more than 5 hours on the s3. On my one x I usually get between 3-4 hours screen on time and 15 hours unplugged with no gaming at all.

Then there's a guy who got almost 13 hours screen on time on the one x reading a pdf. There's so many factors at play.

Cell standby is indeed very high, all Androids I owned the normal value was between 6-8%, almost all captures I have seen so far of Galaxy S3: 20-40%.
for example mine now is at 30%, which is insane.
The radio has to improve a lot...

Your sig is dumb.
HTC One X has more accurate colour reproduction
HTC One X has a better design
HTC One X doesn't have a slippery hyperglaze coating.
See, I can be subjective too.

It was set on auto, and I did not use it outside because I haven't got a case yet ;-)
So the brightness was not full for longer then a few minutes.

So where did i mentioned sgs3 has better design? (its people's choice afterall)
Gloss finish is much better than a matt finish (it will be covered anyway)
you cannot argue with the other points in that sig though
actually your post is dumb, pls do not start the same thing again here, goto hox vs gs3 thread for more info

I was honestly just trolling, but mostly because your sig is kind of trolling too. There are a lot of things I like about the S3 better. But there are also a lot of things I dislike about it. Can't wait to actually compare them both. Sorry guys, back on track!
Great results after the first couple of charge cycles. Should also improve after the battery settles in which would make it just ridiculous. I wonder how much better, if any, the S4 variant will get. I may end up picking this up on AT&T when it releases.

Hi, is using daydream a good idea?
I would let it run about 7 hours each night, do you think this would affect the screen lifetime by a noticeable amount?

Well if you aren't using the phone, I can't imagine why you'd want the screen on for 7 hours. Eventually your screen will fail, might take years and years, but leaving it on an excessive amount will certainly shorten it's lifespan.
If you just want a clock for when you wake up, I'd recommend just turning off Daydream since it only takes a second to turn the screen on. Daydream certainly isn't enough of a time saver to compromise your display's life.
I was always using my Palm Pres as night/alarm clock on the touchstone charger without issues. Did the same with my GNex and its docking station and plan to do the same with my N4 and wireless charger.

If it takes years it doesn't matter, I will switch to the next nexus when it's out anyways, so I won't use this phone much longer than a year. It's not about the clock, it just looks really nice (using beautiful widget) and when waking up, or just in the evening it would be a nice feature.

Hi I keep hearing people complaining about their battery draining, but I found turning off and on some features does infact stop the battery from draining too much, but this only works with the latest 4.4.2 update because I noticed that Power saving mode was not working on 4.3. You should set your setting like this:
The final step is to set you screen brightness to 25% (Brightness level by Curvefish) and turn off your wifi.

hello guys after latest update noguat beta 4
i have proplem with my battery its drain fast no deep sleep i didnt use the phone here is my bettery usage what is the proplem :/
Looks to me your problem is Media.
Could be the system constantly scanning your files stored on the phone, and your SD card.
Maybe a bad audio file or something. Try making a backup of your sd card and format it. Dont put anything on it and look if media goes down in your batterystats. My battery lasts very well on latest beta. See screenshot. With 4:11 mins SOT.

The clue is in the title....beta - meaning it's not complete software, bugs exist and battery drain could be one of them.

So is it normal when u use the phone the bsttery percentage goes down quick and when u dont use it doesnt?
Because in about a hour my phone lost like 10 procent
Is this normal or should i do something about this?
So what you are asking is, if you use the phone will the battery go down and if you don't use it will it not go down?
I think you should look hard at your questions and you may find the answer.

Imean like when using it takes about 3min to go down 1%. That cant be normal right
Also when unboxing it had 80%. Is it really necessary to charge it fully before first use? Because first i installed apps and changed settings and then charged it fully.

The battery requires a little conditioning so the battery will need to go through a few charge cycles in order to get it's maximum performance level.
Give it a week and you should see a difference.
Also it will depend on your settings and usage as well.
