Very small question from a potential moto g5 plus buyer. - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi guys! I'm a potential buyer of the moto g5 plus. Question. I see that stock moto fingerprint gestures (swipe for back, recents..) are super cool. Are custom ROMs implementing those too? Or at least is it a feature that people want? Having no software nav buttons is great.
Thanks for the answer.

Does Atrix users want to usePonury Gesture Mod?

The Ponury Gesture Mod software allows people to wake phone (just like power button) by a swipe gesture on the screen.
So it's slide2wake or slide 2 unlock. It also allows locking and so on.
The developer has disclaim that without the device he cannot work on it
And enough people could declare to buy the app when it's ready so I could buy the device myself
Are people here interested in this app and we can give the developer much attention to our ATRIX
APP and video address : search PGM - Ponury Gesture Mod in android play
Looks great, but it needs a modified kernel, doesnt it? For the Evo 3D thats the case.
im one of those interested. also purchasing.
yes, its done with a custom kernel. so 3 should be made at least. cm7, cm9/cm10 and blur to cover all roms.

CM7 already has gestures on the lockscreen though. Whenever I am on CM7 I use the unlock gesture and a torch gesture. People always get frustrated trying to figure out how to unlock my phone. xD Locking gesture seems interesting and being able to do this on a non CM Rom is pretty cool.
This would be an excellent addition to the already awesome phone!!

could be cool
Wouldn't this potentially drain battery though? Since the touchscreen is staying active all the time waiting for a swipe. Does this even allow the phone to go into standby or deep sleep?
I would be interested also. Please let me know if you need a tester.
Looks Great!

its not unlocking gestures. its using your capacitive keys to unlock/relock and other functions.

YES! We want it, but how?

Vanilla UI vs CyanogenMod questions

I'm running an unofficial version of CM13 on the Honor 5X. Unofficial means a few things are absent at the moment, like fingerprint scanner. What does work works to make this one of the smoothest phones I've used. (EMUI is entirely unusable.)
I'm very interested and I'm this close to ordering the Moto X Pure. So since it's very close to AOSP, as is CyanogenMod, I'm interested to know what differences I can look forward to. Yes, I acknowledge that just because they're both approaching AOSP doesn't mean they are similar to each other.
With CM, I nominally have LiveDisplay (which is broken at the moment but is great when it did work).
With CM, I can enable extra buttons other than just back and home and switcher. I also have search and the menu buttons on.
With CM, I can double tap the power button and it'll go directly to the camera.
These are what comes to mind right now. So, can I expect the Pure to have this functionality?

For the record, I have no immediate interest in switching from the vanilla on the Pure. My sole interest at the moment is just wondering how similar they are and if I will have to give up some familiar functionality.

Is there a way to get the 4x4 pattern CM lockscreen the on a stock rooted ROM?

Moto Display = LiveDisplay (so you have it)
extra buttons - with xposed is possible
double power camera - in Moto it's double phone twist for camera
I suspect I'll find that the double twist thing is stupid and gimmicky, unless I find that the power button is just inconvenient.
But I'm glad it's basically available. What about the 4x4 pattern lock screen, as @sunny_j asked about?
Is that available through xposed? I've never used it (and have no idea what role it serves--yet), but my understanding is that it requires root, which requires unlocking the bootloader, which I understand is easy enough.

Is there a ROM with stock fingerprint navigation gestures?

So, I'm currently thinking on switching from stock to a custom ROM, and this is one of the biggest questions for me right now.
I have got used to the fingerprint navigation gestures and I think they're great, so I would like to know if you people know of a ROM that has this feature or if there is at least an app that can replicate them in the exact same way.
Thanks in advance.
PS: I'm also looking for suggestions of which ROM to switch to, I'm just looking for something stable enough, with great features, but closest to stock as possible. All suggestions except Lineage OS are welcome. Thanks again.

Switch to AOKP ROM. It has that FP Gesture. And Everyother rom has that feature.

So you're saying all roms have the feature, but AOKP is the best (or the suggestion you would give to me) ?
What are the things you think are better on AOKP than on Stock, or how would you compare them?
Btw, would you mind uploading or sharing some pictures of AOKP? Like settings, SystemUI tuner, demo mode, additional settings for the rom, notifications panel, etc... ??
I checked the rom thread but the pictures there are basically useless for me. Thanks in advance.

Lineage OS is great, it has fingerprint gestures, Motorola actions (twist, chop etc.) and plenty of other features to enhance your G5 P.

I decided to give it a try. It has some inconsistencies and their configuration app looks really bad. I went with AOSPExtended, and currently loving it.

Lineage OS has inconsistent colors in settings, I have requested them to fix it too many times, and they just ignore the issue when all they have to do is change a line of code. I'm not ever going to use Lineage OS again.
Try Validus Rom

G6 Tweakabox - is it available???

I sincerely miss using the tweaksbox options that I had on my G3, g4, and g5. Any way to get similar tweaks on the G6? I have the rooted us997 version. Included a link below to tweaksbox just for reference. I'd love to have the double-tap navigation bar to sleep option, as well as customizing navigation bar actions like double-tap recents or menu to assign an app or action. Thanks in advance to all!

Until now there is no tweaksbox for Nougat. P_Toti (the dev. of tweaksbox) has written in his thread for the LG G4 that he is very busy in his real life but when he find a little time there will be a possibility to make a version for Nougat.
Apart of this, there has never released an official version for the G5 but the G4 version has worked very well (with MM naturally). So until now it is not possible to say, which tweaks will work on a G6 in a future version.
Best regards
mkpcxxl
Fulmics rom has very similar tweaks.

IPhone x gesture

Someone now how to use thé new feature of oneplus 5t, the iPhone x gesture because in the Official ota some forum say it's bring to oneplus 5 but nothing now.
There is no need of that kind of gesture system in OnePlus 5. Because OnePlus 5 has physical buttons. And OnePlus 5t doesn't. Gesture system introduce because of that.

There is no iPhone X gestures in OnePlus 5. Not in OxygenOS 5.0.2 or OB5. Only on OnePlus 5T runing the last OxygenOS Open Beta.

Only faceunlock is ported to 5 not the gestures, you no need of that and if you've seen some video they're really ugly (i mean the 5t ones), if you don't use navbar use the hardware buttons
Got excited when I heard about the nav bar gestures. Hope they will still enable it for the 5 in some way...
I don't hate capacitive buttons, but a) they feel a little outdated and b) whenever I hand my phone to somebody else (especially older people and/or iPhone users) they would naturally hold the phone on the bezel area and press the capacitive buttons EVERY TIME - so I deactivated them.
But having those big bezels + nav bar is a poor use of space in my opinion... So yes, I would love to see the gestures on the 5.
In settings search you can even see "Hide the navigation bar", but it's invisible in the buttons submenu.

What gestures do you need? There are a tonne of ROMs and mods that have enabled iOS type gestures for years and many more than is available for iOS .
Look them up.
