Phone: LG Optimus L5 II (E460)
Hi!
I have a big problem. I have rooted my phone with VRoot tool. Then, i wanted to install some "hacking" apps like dSploit, Wifi kill, ROM Manager, etc. I installed the BusyBox. But a realised the normal install is not enough. So, was thinking a should install more applets which a thought they are needed for those apps (killall - dSlpoit). I decided to first uninstall BusyBox from my phone and then install it with advanced install. So i tried to uninstall it with BusyBox Pro. It thought that it partially succeed, but there were some errors. When i closed the app and tried to install it with normall BusyBox installer. It force closed. In BusyBox Pro, it said that i don't have rroted phone. But i rooted it!!! AND THEN, i checked the root access with Root Checker Basic. And it said, you dont have root access!!!! But, before the uninstall it said, you have root access! And then i figured out, that i can't conect too any wifi and the phone is VERY slow. I don't know what happened and i tried wiping all data on phone, but it's now the same and i can't install any apps from playstore. Please help, i nearly can't to anything whitout wifi!
I hope you know the answer...
btw,i tried to root it again with VRoot, but it didn't worked.
sorry for my bad english
Hi guys,
I have always been contempt with my factory Note 3 image, but there were always a few things that I didn't like, like a bunch of bloatware apps that I could not uninstall. I have simply disabled them. I tried one of these uninstall apps and it said I need root access to remove some apps, would root access actually allow me to remove these apps?
If I root the device and get rid of these apps, and then remove the root, would they re-appear after a lollipop update if it ever comes?
I am planning on using Towelroot to do the rooting on the phone as I believe my software version is old enough.

1. Yes, root access give you perms to delete the bloatware that bother you. (Ex: HERE).
2. The bloatware will re-appear when you flash a new firmware ofc.
3. Towelroot works perfectly for what you need :highfive:.
Hello i have the samsung galaxy s5 neo (sm-g903f). It's currently rooted with android 5.1.1 and I wanted to ask if I can update my phone via smart switch without bricking it ???
Do I have to uninstall root before I update it with smart switch or do I have to do something else ?
Besides root I have also installed twrp recovery, a permissive kernel, viper4android, xposed framework and other things like that. Must I uninstall all these things or can I just plug in my phone and update it ?
I know that root and all the other things will be deleted after updating

Hi Emre67511
I've personally never used Smart Switch but it doesn't seems to place any impediments upon your requests.
Smart Switch will be active only after your update and, in your case, will be necessary to reinstall it as only S7 has it built into their ROMs.
You don't have to do nothing before updating and just reinstall what you need and is not yet present.
Depending on which ROM you are selecting to install, root and many other things will be restored during update process.
What I do:
1) I only sync with Google that will restore my contacts/photos/calendar/etc .
2) I have Titanium Backup to backup/restore my personal apps and their data as well as other system data needed.
The exact answer for your thread title is: READ! Read carefully what is recommended to perform the processes you are engaging and do as said.
Please advise if some doubts remain.
Have fun.
.
Thanks for your answer .
I used Smart switch and everything went fine. My phone is updated to the last version and I only have to install root again.
So if anyone else has the problem you can just use smart switch to update your phone to the newest version. You must only install root again and everything else is fine.

The problem is not Root. It works fine with root.
When you go to log into Snapchat, it checks to see if xposed is installed. If it is, it will say there is a problem and will not log you in. You should check your rom to see if it is installed (the files may be there but the app may not).
If i was you, i would clear the snapchat data and then uninstall it. Then, download the "uninstall zip" for xposed. You may say it is not installed, however, elements may still be there. running this in recovery will remove all files. When that has been flashed, you can then install snapchat. Once logged into snapchat, you can then return to recovery and install xposed if you want.
I am currently running snapchat with root and exposed. It will work.

Okay. But snapchat does not have issues with root. What custom Rom are you running if any? Just asking as stopping root will disable xposed, therefore allow the use of snapchat.

Hi guys I am having the very same issue. I initially rooted my s7 edge and snapchat was working until recently after accidentally logging out. I now can't login to snapchat!
I do not have xposed installed on my phone so it can't be completely because of root.
How do I unroot my phone? and will this mean I need to create a backup of my phone?
Thanks!
***** app
I just installed Renovate Edge 3.3 and snapchat doesn't work. Any solutions?
I don't have xposed, and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I'm the one who asked the question 2 posts below yours. I have managed to install Snapchat finally after a whole day or searching.
So... yes you have to unroot and reinstall the stock firmware. This will wipe everything off your phone, so yes you have to back your phone up.
After you unroot, you have to log into Snapchat, backup Snapchat up with Titanium, root and install your custom rom and then restore Snapchat with Titanium.
It worked for me. Now I have Renovate Edge 3.3 ROM and the latest update of Snapchat.
As for unrooting, see this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69426561&postcount=5
Note: Unrooting doesn't fix Knox trip (warranty stays void)
How do you backup using titanium when you have no root

Thanks for that. I never installed a custom rom although i really would like to. I'm new to the roit world and customisation rom wise so need to do some research on it. At the moment I'm using my s5 as a play toy for customisation.
Regarding the SC i just fully unrooted my s5 then logged in to SC. After doing so i created a back up using Titanium back up. Then transfered data across to my s7 edge and restored data which allowed me to log in. I could have just unrooted my s7 edge, then logged in and then re-root but as a noob didn't want to risk any data loss from s7 edge.
What would you suggest as a good custom rom for the s7 edge? I'm using stock rom and don't currently have twrp installed (I'm still new on twrp front and benefits of it too).
Thanks!
Ignore the instructions about unrooting and reflashing stock firmware..
All you have to do is uninstall Snapchat, uninstall Xposed. Reboot phone. Install snapchat and login, go into Titanium Backup and backup the "app data."
Then install Xposed, reboot, restore the data of Snapchat via Titanium Backup and your set. I used to run into this issue all the time when rooted and using Xposed
I have unrooted my s7 edge and flashed stock rom and the problem is solved in my device.

No problem. I thought you had installed a custom rom. Since you hadn't, unrooting would do the trick. In my case, it didn't work. I had to go back to stock firmware and then use Titanium.
As for a good custom rom, I've only tried Renovate Edge. It's pretty awesome. I did some research and compared popular roms and found out it's one of the 1st built roms for S7 edge and is still considered one of the best.

Yeah, that would normally do the trick.
Best custom rom for samsung galaxy s5 is newly introduced Cynogenmod 14.1 .

Wrong forum, this is S7 edge forum
Sorry for that!
Please my snapchat is not working on my samsung 6 edge plus, my phone is not rooted and I don't have xposed. Can't log in! So annoying
Hi All, i have backed up my handset, downloaded Odin, CF-Root and image files in preparation to root the S8 to remove bloatware but i have a question before i start.
The question is that i have a banking app installed which of course will not work after the root process so can i remove the root after debloating and then reinstall the banking app.
Cheers.
I guess there's no answer to this then !?
Why not use an app disabler instead of root if you just want to disable apps? I don't think removing root is as easy as it sounds, normally you just reinstall the firmware.
you can use magisk to hide the root. it worked ony my banking apps
Magisk will hide the root (although Samsung Health still reacted but I don't use that anyway ) and SuperSU has a hide feature as well. Not sure if the SuperSU one lets you do the app-by-app hide that Magisk does.
I never had any luck with the root-hiding apps/methods. The TIAA app complained one way or another, so I gave up.
