Hi,
I will soon be traveling out of the country and was wondering if anyone has any experience using an international SIM with a unlocked CDMA world phone? If I put an international SIM is there any other setting I need to change to get it to route calls/text/data through the SIM card instead of using my Sprint ESN? I want to make sure to avoid international roaming charges and will be buying a prepaid GSM SIM card at the airport.
Also, does anyone have experience using on GSM 900/2100? The specs on the samsung site say it is supported but the FCC specs do not have it included? I'm leaning towards samsung but wanted to know if anyone has actually used it.
From Samsung:
Frequencies and Data Type LTE: Band 25; CDMA 1x/EVDO Rev.A: 800/850/1900MHz; HSPA+/UMTS: 850/900/1900/2100MHz; GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
From FCC:
CDMA1X + EV-DO band classes 0, 1, 10 (i.e. CDMA1X + EV-DO 850/1900/800)
LTE band class 25 (i.e. LTE 1900; PCS A-G blocks)
LTE 5 MHz FDD carrier bandwidth
LTE UE category 3
W-CDMA bands 2, 5 (i.e. W-CDMA 1900/850)
GSM 850/1900
Thanks!
can we unlock Yureka to be able to use a SIM card from a different carrier? like EMTEL?
anyone? any inputs?
YU Yureka isn't locked to any particular carrier.
Yureka supports the following bands:
2G bands GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands HSDPA 900 / 2100
4G bands LTE band 3(1800), 40(2300)
Emtel operates on:
2G Bands: GSM 900
3G Bands: W-CDMA 2100
4G Bands: LTE 1800
So there shouldn't be any problem.
Thank You so much Titokhan
Hi, my provider runs at 1800 LTE and 2300 LTE.
The 2300 is MUCH faster.
How do I force a Xiaomi Redmi3 to connect over the 2300 Band?
I have been to test menu but there I can not set LTE bands like on a samsung.
Thanks
I just received the Global Version of the Mi Note 2 from Gearbest. I installed the newly released Global Rom and just connected to the Canadian Rogers Network. On my S4 I used to see a little LTE symbol beside the 4G at the top. Since I turned this on I have to see any LTE at all. Just HSPA+ which I never saw on my S4 and 3G.
Is there any way with a Qualcomm device that I can confirm what bands are supported ? I did the *#*#4636#*#* and tried forcing it into LTE only and it would not connect to the Rogers Network. So I'm a bit confused since this thing is supposed to have all the LTE bands available.
any help appreciated.....I did Root the phone... as well
I did play around as well with the sim in slot one and slot 2 too see if there was any difference. Didn't seem to help at all.
Hi !
Can you check with the box of your Mi Note 2 ?
You must see this on the global version
http://en.miui.com/data/attachment/forum/201701/05/153904ix5fyiv54a64wyw5.jpg.thumb.jpg
On the standard version you must see 4 chinese character, like this:

If you are the second box, contact Gearbest.
Anybody here having a real global Note 2? Rooted for sure. If yes please pm.

Ok, thx, joined the group.
Definitely check and make sure you have the correct version by referencing the box and the links troufiniou provided above. If it is indeed the Global variant, I would recommend adjusting your APN settings
I have the same issue, could you fix it? Thanks

Is there any other way to check if my mi note 2 is a global version or not (except symbols on the box)?. The Mi Verification check gave me that it is the 'Device model LTE 28G' which is not rly helpfull because i can not find any information about it in internet. Much thx for help in advance.
I have same problem. APN is good (double checked with carrier). Even searching for networks doesnt show lte networks..
Can someone help?
I did Mi Check and it showed Device Model LTE. Tried both sim slots. Shows Global version model 2015213 on the box.
My sim card is my lte card i was using with prior phone and lte was fine
Is that ROM related?
Wow. Nobody???
Stilll... Damn! :-/
Community is dead for that phone or what?

Under the surface
Hello I Have the mi note 2 Global. The box dysplay a big global LOGO. And the frequencies given in GSM arena are the followings:
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 18(800), 19(800), 20(800), 25(1900), 26(850), 28(700), 29(700), 30(2300), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)
Speed HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE-A (3CA) Cat12 600/150 Mbps
Canada
2G capabilities
GSM 850, GSM 1900
3G capabilities
UMTS 850, UMTS 1700, UMTS 1900
4G capabilities
LTE 1700, LTE 2600
So you can't really guess what they mean by 4G (1700/2100) . So if there is a 4G antenna next to your house that emits phone signal over the fréqueny 1700 then you might have received a version that doesn't suit your need. (i guess it is some phones have 2100 some other have 1700 but not both). You should try to get the info of what frequencies are used by the different antennas in your surroundings. I give an exemple for france:
go to the adress here: antennesmobiles
when you specify a town (if you say paris you must still zoom a little bit but not for smaller towns). Then if you look at the frequencies used by each antenna you can see the things are much more complicated than what it seems at first sight.
For exemple look the details given for a single antenna (metro oberkampf):
FH 25.5 à 26.25 GHz
3G:
UMTS 880.1 à 889.9 MHz UMTS 925.1 à 934.9 MHz UMTS 1900.1 à 1905.1 MHz UMTS 1935.3 à 1950.1 MHz UMTS 2125.3 à 2140.1 MHz
2G:
GSM 880.1 à 889.9 MHz GSM 925.1 à 934.9 MHz GSM 1765 à 1785 MHz GSM 1860 à 1880 MHz
4G:
LTE 791 à 801 MHz LTE 832 à 842 MHz LTE 1765 à 1785 MHz LTE 1860 à 1880 MHz LTE 2535 à 2550 MHz LTE 2655 à 2670 MHz
So i think these data have to be looked at carefully as it's hard to link with the commercial given data for exemple the
frequencies used in France:
2G capabilities
GSM 900, GSM 1800
3G capabilities
UMTS 900, UMTS 2100
4G capabilities
LTE 700 (28), LTE 800 (20), LTE 1800 (3), LTE 2600 (7).
Let alone that in this listing I gave the result of one antenna belonging to only one provider.
But i Hope i have given you the track to better understand the results of your intensity signal discribed on your phone.
By the way here in France I'm almost permanently in 4g with good signal only since I have this phone because before I had a phone better suited for Algéria.
Thanks and good researches.
Hello! I'm using an unlocked Verizon Motorola G4 Play XT1609 in Argentina. It gets 4G coverage and I can surf the web and send and receive messeges but I can't make or receive calls. It just ends the call when I try.
I have no idea what's wrong with it. I think I bought the wrong version because it has CDMA and LTE and my provider is GSM/WCDMA/LTE
So I'm not sure if it is there any way to solve this.
Thanks in advance!
Are you sure your mobile subscription has calls included?

You're correct. You bought the wrong version. There is no GSM or WCDMA support for this phone and no way to enable it. The only reason it gets data is because this phone and your carrier support LTE band 4.
You have the XT1609 and need the XT1607 or another model that's sold in/for Argentina. If you were to get the XT1607, you would get 2G and 3G GSM support, but you still wouldn't get LTE band 28. Looks like you need the XT1601 for full band support. See: http://willmyphonework.net/
