I installed LOS on my Axon7 with 4G/128GB Rom, since the last two or three updates I'm having heavy battery drains issues, the phone is nearly died after 3 hours of use.
I noticed that google play services is the most battery consuming app with an average 22%, I'm trying to understand if it's a LOS issues or it's a nougat bug.
Does someone know a fix or is having the same issues?

I hate to be that guy but most likely the answer you are looking for is out there already.
Google search or search xda-developers for a guide to optimise battery life, you'll most likely easily find out what's causing this and fix it by yourself.
I assure you there are multiple guides, I fixed my issues with the above method.

No actually, I just assumed naturally that you were asking here, you certainly didn't write that you did search and couldn't find a good solution.
In any case have you actually followed any guide and didn't fix your issue or did you just read them and discarded them?
For example those two:

Doesn't really matter if it's for sony, most of the thing it mentions you can use on any device, same goes for amplify, you can't use this exact part but you can use most of the rest.
Geez don't be negative and give it a go, you ask for help and then turn down what's offered to you.
Anyway, I'm done, good luck finding out what's wrong.

Get root and install better battery stats and wakelock detector. Give them both root rights. Wait a bit and one of them should show you what is keeping your phone from deep sleeping. My bet is on nlp_wakelock. That ****er gets stuck on my phone all the time. Usually a reboot will stop it (til the next time...).

Hello all....
I have been using WP7 on my HD2 for a week or so.
I love the smooth interface and speed (nice work DFT)
The battery drain was really really annoying. Could barely get half a day on minimal use.
As a last resort, I flashed the WP7 rom again. This time, when I restarted and before first boot, I did a hard reset (press and hold volume up and down on the MAGLDR boot 1234 GO GO GO screen). It asks to press volume down twice to hard reset.
Would you believe it??? I have been using WP7 for half a day now. Internet, e-mail on etc and I'm still (on what looks like) approximately 60%.
Battery drain is much, much better.
I think the hard reset after flashing probably reset ALL of the counters etc.
For those with problems, try it, you might be surprised, but YMMV....
Good luck and Viva DFT!!!!!!!
All you actually did was read the instructions on how to flash your rom. Well done!
So would I lose all my apps and access to the market place if I hard reset my device? Cause I definitely don't want to go through the chevron process again. Thanks

Thanks for the sarcastic retort!!!! LOL...
Maybe, but users are still reporting high battery drain. The instructions are not THAT clear on this particular point. i.e.: Hard Reset BEFORE First boot
I have tried hard reset after booting into WP7 and battery drain was same as before. (high)
Im no noob. I had to search high and low for even a slight mention of that particular point.
As I said... Take It or Leave It!!!!

You've only been using your phone for half a day when you've come up with the conclusion that you've solved everyone's battery problem. That's not much testing.
Oh and I do think its very noobish to have installed this rom in the first place without reading the instructions that appear right in front of you whill running the program. It appears you just clicked next next next.
Start testing with different radio roms and come back in a week with some proper results.
Hey! Just flash 2.14 or 2.10 radio and stop posting all this crap.
High drainage was found on 2.15 radio ver.
To skunz35: Yes you would lose all your settings and data. Part of the WP7 territory
Well, thanks for all the '****ty' comments....
I can understand why a lot of people don't bother posting.
Radio... blah, blah, blah!!! Done.. Yawn.
Test for more than half a day.... Really?????
I'm just posting my findings to help a few people out there. I've actually been testing this for a month now, as I got hold of a 'pre-beta' copy. I'm in I.T. and have a few 'contacts' everywhere.
These comments are not helpful or constructive. I consider the two people who have 'blasted' my observations 'NOOBS' in every sense of the word.
These forums are supposed to be for help and opinions. This sort of 'nay-saying' is what most forums nowadays are awash with.
Count down! You think you are the 1st one who found this problem? You think this dublicated thread is very helpful? I had battery problem too, I was on 2.15 radio, now reflashed to lower version and now it's solved. Many people are confirmed that. All tests was on stand by mode but not in games or whatever what are you doing there! And don't "blah... blah..." on me!

You've been testing it for a month (so you say) and you've just learned how to read the installation guide today. That installation appears every time you flash the rom onto your phone. How in gods name have you not be able to see that for a whole month!!!
Not only that you then say you've been using WP7 for half a day with no battery problems. Half a day

I'd agree with trying different radios. Its most likely due to one or more of the following.
1: Different radio's
2: Different SD cards
3: Magldr 1.12
4: A bug in the WP7 rom

I can say that this is the case. Its been 5 hours and Im still about 70%. An hour of music, A couple of calls, lots of texting, installed 3 games over wifi. Facebook (from people hub), 2 emails sync'ed At all times. Radio 2.14.
I took my phone from the charger around 7.30 this morning, its now about 18.30 so tahts 11 hours. According to the task bar its at about 90 percent, so yeah, drain seems better than 6.5 roms. Admidetly, I hardly did anything with it. Received and read some emails via gmail push, and sent a few facebook and text messages.

Man.... you really don't know when to quit, do you?
You obviously didn't read my original post completely. Tested for half a day using hard reset before WP7 first boot. Hundreds of other people have had the same problem. Posted, because already (half a day, admittedly) the battery drain was a huge improvement over the previous month's testing with different radios, batteries, BIOS configs etc. The pre-beta was a ***** to install. It didn't have the lovely DFT packaged installer. Very 'hands on'.
I also never claimed to solve all battery problems or to be the font of all WP7 knowledge! Just an observation, and hopefully a help to other users who may be having difficulties
This from the guy who thought he only had 200 MB on his SD card after flashing WP7.
You've told me to read.... I say the same to you. What part of 'hidden partition' (JBOD RAID if you're interested) don't you understand?

So you are betatesting WP7 update from Microsoft on hacked HD2 with heavy battery drain. I see... thats how its done.
EDIT: Sorry for the spam, but these posts are driving me crazy.
Hi,
JUST FOR DEVELOPER EDITION
Just to inform you guys, If your battery is ending faster than normal, download and run the RUU on you device. It will be back to normal.
Site: http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html
Lastest RUU: http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...G_20.68.4196.01_F_release_411207_signed_2.exe
Also, there is no need to relock your device to run the RUU (at least here was not needed)
How did you get to that conclusion ? I think it's more a user/installed app problem. Something drains the battery obviously but it's more often some rogue app hiding somewhere.
The ruu ends all of that indeed because it's flashing the phone to factory stock and with that deletes ALL apps present on the phone, so this method is very easy to suggest. If the RUU doesn't fix it it's more likely that you have a faulty battery.
If you suffer battery drains i suggest to install a battery/system status app that can detect the problem.
Also i don't think this is a very common problem at least not only for the dev edition. If it was the Q&A section would be filled with threads like "why does my dev edition with android L drain so much battery"
This is like the holy grail of answers to issues on the phone.
- My phone doesn't boot : run the ruu
- My phone has no data : run the ruu
- WiFi doesn't work : run the ruu
I think a ruu as a solution is kinda short through the curb if you know what i mean......
Edit :
As additional information :
A ruu runs only on a s-on device with a locked/relocked bootloader
Or
On a s-off device.....doesn't matter if the bootloader is locked/relocked or unlocked
Cheers

I came to that conclusion with my phone, I used it for 5 months, so I knew that the battery takes 2 days to reach 1%. After the update it started to reach 1% in 30h.
So I used the ruu, installed and set up everything again, so the phone and applications "behave" the same way... And after 1 week using, I confirmed that was something wrong... And it's back 2 days using...

Yes the ruu is a sort of solution, but you can post this for every phone on every carrier and in every country over the world.
And people have to set up their phone up again from scratch and that can be a big problem.
Maybe uninstalling just 1 app could lead to the same result. That's why i said earlier that the ruu is not definitely the fix. Check some battery stats apps and see what's eating your battery, check wakelocks and such. Then it's pretty easy to locate the problem.
What i ment to say in general here is that a ruu as a fix is too easy, then it would make the Q&A a lot smaller. As anyone who came across rom issues would just run the ruu and be done.
And don't get me wrong i didn't write this to make you look like some non knowledgeable guy....just discussing different options/opinions

both very relevant solutions
1 is easier but wipes user data
2, conserves user data but takes a bit more concentration in killing those naughty apps :good:
as it is there's two ways to convert to dev, My (long winded now RUUS are out) step by step or the other thread is a RUU solution.
This is why i love these forums as pooling together and discussions like this give people choice and benefit the community
Hi guys, I haven't updated AT ALL. I remember reading somewhere here on XDA that someone had said, "Don't update if you're planning on rooting". But I really hate the software update popping up on me, and I'd like to have better battery from the second update T-Mobile sent out. What are your guys opinions? Will updating really affect any chances of me rooting my snapdragon S7 Edge? Since they update the 'security' of my device?
You need to update. If anything, you will only be able to unlock bootloader after an update where T-mobile allows to do so. They have previously stated they are working with Samsung on a solution. By not updating, you are only depriving yourself of much need software fixes.

Right? Either way I updated didn't take me a second to think about it because of root. Pfst if you don't want the fixes that the updates have pushed out then ok. But I'm telling you my battery life! Now I get really good 4 to 5 hours of normal use. I'm happy before the update I'd get 330 to 4 hours

Definitely a great update, but I personally update regardless. And if it f**** me, so be it. I'm just saying I've seen others say more NOT to if you plan on rooting. Which I do, but I'm just a dumbass like that! LoL
Think this update made my battery worse tbh. I've been at work for 4 hours now with light usage and it's at 77%. It didn't get that low with heavier usage in same time frame pre update. Haven't installed anything before or after.
I have installed the updates and the overall performance and battery have improved a lot.
All those who buy new phone when it is first released become beta testers. Simple as that.

Pretty sure you need them for the latest Good Lock to work anyways, which is awesome btw no more quick connect or S search wasting space in my notification bar.

It works pretty well....its a standalone app...no major special filters...but its stable and you download everything like snapprefs so it doesn't send notification of screenshot... Because in all actuality you don't screen shots....Casper logs you out of the snapchat app...so it cannot be used simultaneously... Its a good alternative until we get root access.

Hi
Is there anything on Android like Event manager on Windows, where I can go back and check what caused the crash?
I'm on SuperStock kernel and Superman Rom. Not changed much, besides having Xposed with Greenify and Amplify (with only a few standard alarms blocked).
Suddenly I got a Clash Royale crashed, then 3 vibrations and then a reboot. Would love to go back to see what caused the issue.
Thanks in advance
Good luck getting help with this on this site. I've asked a very similar question twice here over the past 4 mo. and have heard nothing from anyone. Disappointing.

I don't know if this happens on all XDA or just in this forum, I remember a while ago there are a huge community to help on anything, but that was when I owned a lot of sony phones...

OP, u should check your rom/kernel thread to see if someone has that problem,u maybe need a log to know exactly whats happening (and help to solve the cause), check thread first though, maybe the answer is there
Hey XDA,
Am a new user and i need some advice on the new Andriod O.
In the past I had the Andriod 7.1.1 and my got the BLOD. I sent the phone back to and got another one with Andriod 7.0.
I never upgraded the version because i didnt know if it was safe and now seeing that Andriod O is out. Am just wondering if its safe to upgrade?
Am considering to unlock the Bootloader and USB Debugging just in the event something goes wrong i guess i can always install a new ROM or something.
As i really dont want to be hurt again

Hey XDA,
Am a new user and i need some advice on the new Andriod O.
Any advice for a newbie?
Thanks in advance.

The android version isn't what causes the BLOD but a degraded battery is what causes it. It is completely safe to update to O.

Okay when i called Hauwei support they told me it was a problem with 7.1.1 thats why i never updated.
So does that mean that the BLOD can come back? Or was it due to an inferior battery used on some devices ?

It depends on how well you look after your battery. This issue is mostly present on the Nexus 6p as AFAIK but it can happen on any device. Just try to look after your battery by charging to the max of 80% and try not to go under 30% too often. What Huawei told you assuming you understood them correctly was BS and likely a way for them to put the blame on Google and not their hardware. Degraded batteries cause bootloops. If you already had the issue once then it will likely come back so you should definitely change the battery if you can't get Huawei to send you a new one.

I guess what Hauwei was saying was BS but google didnt offer any help just said to contact them.
I try honestly try to look after the battery, i normally let it charge to 100% at night and take it off before i sleep. I dont leave it on the charger ever or longer than i need. Then charge it again around 20-15% back to full.
If i was to charging at 30% to 80%, i dont think would give me alot of time and would have to charge more often. Wouldn't that harm the battery more?

This is the second phone they sent me, so it doesnt have any more warranty. Am hopeful it can last and would have to replace anything. :fingers-crossed: Are there any sources for good battery replacement ?

Your first thought was the correct one. Start by unlocking your bootloader and then update to 8.0 and enjoy your phone. If/when you ever have a battery issue there are plenty of places to have it replaced at a reasonable price. Android software version was never the cause (or cure) to a bootlooping phone, so you got some bad information there.
