hey howzit everyone, so i've been racking my brain trying to install custom made clocks, i've tried using the ones from watchup..com and nothing seems to work, i've tried using the mediatek app, i've tried coping direct to sd card folders (data), (Clockskins) and the (root) folders..
I am not very familiar with the .vxp programs as per say and still tacking into it,
the V8 smartwatch runs on the following below and the standard clocks are just appauling!
Processor::MediaTek MTK6261D
Operating System:S NUCLEUS
Display::1.22" inch 240 x 240 pixels (261 ppi)
Memory::128 MB +128 MB
any advice, assistance, tutorials would be awesome!
Hello,
Any luck yet? I am having the same problem. the watch is nice but dont like the standard clocks.

Hi
I was wondering if I can run q3a on my SPV M3100.
After I try to launch it, I get a message "Insufficient memory to start Q3CE. Try freeing up more program or storage memory."
Program or storage? Does this is true only with devices with shared memory? Or maybe this game can use also my storage memory on hermes, which doesn't share memory?
q3a needs 96MB, which is possible on Hermes (free storage + program memory)
I know that this game isn't playable on any device (and Hermes isn't so fast) but it would be nice to see it on my ppc.
If anyone managed to play this game on Hermes, please post here. I don't know if I want to change my ROM to super-duper-lite version without even MS Office just to see q3a working... or not.
The men in white coats are coming to get you...
Run!
Joking aside, I'm assuming you actually mean the quake game - not arena...that would be pushing it a little
Assuming that then, AFAIK, quake was written specifically for the Dell Axim X5x (whichever one had the 3D graphics card in it) so presumably, that is why it's failing on your hermes - it's not memory thats missing, just a graphics card...
Smiffy.

I mean Quake 3 Arena :]
This is from README:
Quake 3 Arena CE Installation Guide
Version 1.1b
-------------------------------------
Requirements:
* Pocket PC 2003 compatible handheld (ARM/XScale CPU)
* Intel 2700g if you want hardware acceleration.
* 124MB of storage space (Fits on a 128 MB SD Card )
* 40MB of available storage+program memory (64 MB devices running PPC2003, 96MB running WM5)
* An installed copy of Quake 3 Arena on your PC, complete with all the upgrade patches
Installation:
1. Ensure you have a copy of Quake 3 Arena installed on your PC. You're going to need the
artwork/content from the game because it is not redistributable.
2. Run the pakconvert tool like this to build the pk3 file for your handheld:
cd pakconvert
bash ./pakconvert.sh c:/q3a (replacing path with wherever your Quake 3 Arena installation is)
3. Copy everything over to your handheld. You will need 124 MB of space
DELL AXIM AND ACCELERATED HANDHELDS:
q3ce.exe
gx.dll
baseq3\q3config.cfg
baseq3\pak0.pk3
baseq3\cgamearm.dll
baseq3\qagamearm.dll
baseq3\uiarm.dll
UNACCELERATED HANDHELDS:
q3ce.exe
gx.dll
libgles_cm.dll
baseq3\q3config.cfg
baseq3\pak0.pk3
baseq3\cgamearm.dll
baseq3\qagamearm.dll
baseq3\uiarm.dll
The other files are unused by the actual game.
4. You should not need to adjust your "program versus storage" memory, though on some devices with greater than 64MB
of memory, adjusting to have more program memory may improve performance.
Notes:
1. Network support is obviously limited. Your Pocket PC likely doesn't have a very fast internet connection, so
your ping times are going to be crap. Hell, it might not even work. Maybe in the next release...
2. You may have a hard time entering text, or a CD key or whatever, unless you have an external keyboard. Avoid
menus where you have to type stuff in. Maybe virtual keyboard in next release...
3. I had to eliminate support for the virtual machine in the codebase. This means that many 'mods' will not work for
you, as the UI, Game, and CGame modules are all hard-coded into the program. If someone wants to find a way to get
that working on the ARM cpu in a fast fashion (ha! and steal resources from our meager graphics?!) feel free
to do so.
4. Memory now autopartitions itself, so you don't need to worry about reconfiguring stuff. You still need a lot of
memory, but requirements have been reduced to work with 64MB PPC2003 devices.
5. Audio has been converted to MP3 to save space
6. Fonts and graphics have been cleaned up by using better resizing mechanism.
I think that's all.

Really?
You can have at the best at about 90 MB (30 MB program/60 MB storage).
I thing I saw a screenshot yesterday with so much free memory but I was tired. ;]
*** Black Satin Light (differences from Medium) ***
Free Storage ROM: 64MB
RAM on cold boot: 31MB

well, 1 more MB ;]
Or maybe we could decrease limit to 95MB xD.
What about WM6? It's 96MB on WM5 and it seems that with newer Windows Mobile we need more free memory... but WM6 is faster, right? Maybe also memory requirements in q3a would be lower?
seeing the amount of frames per second in the screenshots i'd say hardly playable
Quake 1 2 & 3...
Its says in Spanish that its a test version and they have not seen more than 5fps they say it is insufficient speed to enjoy the game.
I remember all of the previous versions of this port were slow and unplayable it seems even less likely our Hermes can run quake 3 with no hardware acceleration. Full Stop.
It just isn’t going anywhere, the creators of the quake 1 & 2 ports just gave up didn’t they?
There must be some tweaking what can be done for Q3.
Hi,
I have Q3 on my Hermes and it runs slowly around 5fps. Yet i tried it on about ten roms, some wouldn't load it up fully. The rom i use now loads it up at 5fps. Also my rom doesn't have 96mb of program/ram free about half and it loads up the same yet they say you needed 96mb free. The rom i use now loads and plays it best. I will keep testing though to see if i can tweak it. Not much to edit in the config txt. But sometimes one edit can be enough to give 50% more.
I know more cpu and gpu power would do the trick. Pity i cannot overclock the cpu anymore than 500 mhz. Some games though do look and perform well.

Wow, so may old threads popping up!
The hermes doesn't have excelerated video, and your not really overclocking to 500mhz, the hermes cpu isn't scalable.
Not too sure q3a will ever run on the hermes.
I have got it to overclock to 500 mhz when load is over 70 %, i notice the difference in speed and response of taps and loading, trying duke nukem 3d atm and it runs smooth as anything ! Classic shooter, runs average 25-30 fps.
It might be old this hermes but still handy bit of hardware.
I have run Q3 but 5fps is no good. Sometimes little tweaks tho can give extra speed.
Official ppc games run very smooth, so i think if effort is put into a port it can turn out really good !
Wonder what halo type game microsoft are doing for WM ? Some think it will be a multiplayer over net too.
currently i have a t-mo wing that has no other modifications done on it other than a sliding tone change.
so my situation is that i have a NES emulator and i have a GBC emulator, and skype mobile all on my phone (saved and installed on the 2gb storage card).
the biggest issue is that i am running into issue when im trying to use both the internet explorer and skype, or an emulator and windows media player, or some varient of that, the phone will run out of memory, and automatically shut down the application that is on hold. also, if im trying to watch a converted vid in windows media player, the more apps running, the slower the video.
now from what i understand about desktop and laptop computers is that this to me would indicate that im running low on RAM. i understand that a PPC isnt designed to do exactly what im trying to do, but what im wondering is how can i increase the amount of system ram at any one time so that the PPC wont shut down one of the running apps, or so that i can just watch a converted video better?
would overclocking my phone a little make things run better? or is this a case where i should change the pagepool size? or what other option do i have to give my self more system memory?
Change the pagepool to 6mb. Kill the My5 and Live start up processes.
I would just change to another better ROM.
interesting...
i had a feeling that the pagepool would make a difference. couple of quick things though, i understand that a guide can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=313263&highlight=pagepool to change the page pool size BUT (and this is the newb part) my phone wasnt set up for my5 (i stuck with an existing plan, and didnt go my 5) and im sure that the app is/may still be on there and still starting, but im not sure how to stop/end the process of the my5 and the live, and also, what rom do you recommend... 200 some odd posts, you obviously know something.
lol. Thanks. I didn't even realize that I had gone past the 150 post count.
This is an excelent one. It's based on This puppy, which is also excelent. Here's one of his older ones. Also an excelent one.
Try the first one, first.
Alternatively, you can wait (or upgrade AND wait) for me to release my newest kitchen and then MAKE your own ROM (based on the same base ROM as all these guys.)
and for the p4350 ? I think thats the keyboard is different, whats the fastest and stable rom ? Thanks

Dunno. I don't have a P4350. Try some out and see which one works best for you.
I have ben playing with CAnalogue Clock only to realize that it does not update the hour hand propperly. it also has a huge file count for images and thus takes up a lot of ram. really bummed out by those two problems.
Is there any way someone can make a CHome plugin that uses the Retro clock ??
there are a ton f skins aready available and a program to make skins as well. also the file count is really small.even small enough to fit into windows if you are cooking.
the main thing is that this clock really works and updates the time propper and takes less ram.
thanks for who ever takes on this project. I really think this is worth it. especially since the clocks can be whatever size you want (even 320 X 320)
I would assume someone would be interested??
bump...
Hello ppl,
Have one question please.
I cooked my own ROM and after fresh install, i got results for memory as per attached - no tasks running.
Is that good / bad, compared to a stock usage after fresh install ?
What is the "normal" usage after fresh install, can someone post actual figures ?
Brgds,
Radu
Hi Radu
By memory i dont know if u mean RAM or ROM,but if its RAM your result is good,if its ROM memory you can free up some more by removing apps like opera, office, google maps, copilot and to install them on storage card.
Hi Tzaca,
Thanks for fast reply, but..
"Good" is not just enough, i was looking for actual figures to judge a clear comparison. Spent a lot of time cooking and removing / adding various things, but i forgot to measure it it up, before. That was the question for.
Anyway, card installing is not an really good option except iGO, rest should live happily in phone mem, it's faster this way.
Can you post your figures ? just for quick comparison.
Brgds,
Radu
hi again...
by "good" i meant that 133MB is the best you can get out of that phone, even i couldnt get so much lol
as about card installing..i'm not agree with you..more stuff u will install on internal memory, slower your phone will be...and i say this from my experience, but of course you can install things where u want
it doesnt have sense to post screenshots of my phone RAM because i installed apps like CHT and of course RAM will be smaller than yours after fresh install, but i get around 120 MB RAM after soft reset.
btw..i didnt experience any slow running apps which i have installed on SD card,i dont think that phone ROM memory can go faster than my card which is 4 MB/s r/w ,so your argument is not relevant
Hi Tzaca,
Hehe, 133~135 Mb RAM, at the expense of a Manila free phone...
Not planning to use CHT or similar stuff like that, but to find a workable wp7 theme, would be enough for me.
I'm quite used to ideea of installing stuff on card - first WInMo device i had was a FS Loox - however i do not like it except beeing forced to - iGo+maps is too big for phone mem. I use card for music, photo, movie, as a suppoort for stuff... is not neccesarily the card rating @ 4/6 class, but it's actual speed within the system, R/W using phone mem is definitely faster that card...
Thanks anyway for prompt answer.
Best regards,
Radu
Hello,
I am totally new to smartwatches.
I have been reading the forums but I recognize I am having problems to understand; so, I beg your pardon if my question has been answered before... or if it is so obvious that I shouldn't being making it.
So: I know there apps or programs to make watchfaces for Full Android Smartwatches; for Wear OS Smartwatches; for Tizen OS Smartwatches; or for the Apple Watch.
But: does it exist any app or program to create watchfaces for smartwatches like the one I have (Kospet Tank T1).
I mean: I don't even know which operating system is running the watch.
And, if creating the custom watchface is possible: how can we upload it to the smartwatch?
Any help will be much appreciated and, as I said in the beginning, I am sorry is this is not a proper question.
just another usual "chiness watch". most of it have a custom os, based on rtos. may have a different as watch faces formats, as methods to upload.
start searching at the app. I mean, it uses fit cloud pro, so try to find watch faces to this app and methods to upload. if you'll be lucky, than start to search editor. if no - you'll be forced to investigate watch face format of your watch and method to upload by yourself. it's hard if you newbe but not impossible.
