I hear beeps quite often when I speak. The other side doesn't hear anything, only me.
Definition of frequent: at least once per 5 minute phone call. Sometimes 3-4 times.
Tends to happen more often when speaking to female voices.
It is not a minute counter, I don't have one and the beeps are erratic.
Why is this happening and how can I fix it? It's quite annoying to hear a beep in the ear as it cuts out words and leads to more frustrations in the call.

Is it only me or is everyone with HD experienceing noise during a voice call. The other person don't complain about it but at my end there is always a distorting noise from an earpiece during a voice call like a an electric interference. (and this is irrelevant to my location or signal strength - I get it everywhere).
should I get my HD replaced by Orange ?
I also experienced the weird electronic interference sound, but only twice so far (I've had the phone for over one month). The person on the other end couldn't hear it either time, and it only lasted a couple of seconds. It hasn't been a significant problem for me and I haven't heard it in a while.
I can also confirm that strange noise appeared during calls at least few times in last month and a half of usage. On some occasions I would hear my own last word being distorted and on others simply static-interference effects. Nothing too bad, but it does happen.
Hi all,
I've experienced this too.
1. Which ROM version do you use ? I've upgraded mine and the noise disappeared.
2. Yesterday I heard that noise again (first time for 10 days), but it was very silent and about 3-4 seconds. Then I realise that the noise is coming while in call ONLY when I am at home.
So I think that there might be some problem with the operator cell covering my house.
Anyway ..... try to find suitable NEW ROM for your phone ....it will make things better I hope.
Good luck!
P.S.:
Old ROM : 1.14.405.0 WWE
New ROM : 1.14.479.3 WWE
It's OK now
So, ever since my Droid X arrived via Fed-EX, I've had issues with the ear speaker in-call volume. Turning up the in-call volume much past half way yeilds, what I describe as a vibration buzz, following any sound coming through the ear peice, similiar to a blown speaker. I plan to have it replaced, but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this issue?? I hope it's not a design flaw for all of the phones... I would like to turn my phone up past half way!!
Other than that, the phone seems great and I can't wait for Froyo to arrive!
droid x speaker buzz
I too have this problem. My Droid X arrived via fed-ex on Monday, 7/26. It was perfect except for one thing: on any call, the voice of the other person has a "power line buzz" overlay to it whenever they speak. When they're silent, there is no buzz, but when any sound is made from the other end, there is a heavy buzz overlay from the speaker, very annoying. It is more prominent when it is a machine voice on the other end, such as voicemail and especially the activation voice (when I first noticed it).
I should point out that there is no buzz on speakerphone, or with a bluetooth headset/headphones, only when listening using the normal phone speaker, which leads me to believe it is a hardware problem.
I filed a "problem ticket" with Verizon technical support today, who told me that they probably wouldn't get back to me until after the weekend because of their hours...
Hi, I have tested and experienced this on three different HD2's, and tried with every radio available in the Master Radio Thread. When talking to someone normally using the internal speaker, and we try to talk simultaneously, on my end the other person's voice completely disappears and I can only hear myself talking. Sort of like the old-style speakerphone effect, where only one person could be talking at a time.
I have tested this extensively with automated voice menu systems as well (like Pizza Pizza) and every time, as soon as I start speaking it immediately cuts off the sound on the other end (the incoming sound from their voice in my ear) either intermittently, so I can only hear brief little bits of what is being said, or altogether so that ten seconds or more go by without my hearing anything at all from the other side (as long as I keep speaking). As soon as I stop talking, I can hear them again, and as soon as I resume speaking, their incoming sound is cut off again.
I am using the Telstra version of the HD2 with the 850mHz band and have tested with a couple of different carriers (Rogers and Bell) with the same results each time. And as I said, I have tried three different units so I don't think it's a matter of defectiveness.
Does anyone know of a fix for this issue?
thats a really odd problem. i can't say i can help much. but i can suggest another keyword that might help you search better for other possible reports of similar issues. at the very least, this word describes your problem a bit more concisely. its called "half duplex".
m using moto x play from last 12 to 18 days some time m facing the issue when m receiving the calls no sound comes from that side it happens very randomly no regularly then i drop the call nd on next call everything was fine.
any one also facing the same issue..?
Was this issue resolved? I am facing similar issues on my Moto X Play and a soft factory reset has not helped. When I dial someone, I am unable to hear if the call is going through and also the person on the other end. When I receive a call, the phone rings, but I cannot hear the voice on the other end At times a phone restart solves the issue, but at time, it lingers for 2-3 hours, post which the phone starts working normally. During the issue, I can take/make calls, if I use a headphone or the speaker. Also no issues while playing videos or music.
Has anyone else with the Moto X Pure Edition XT1575 noticed static/white noise sound from the top earpiece speaker while on calls?
Over the weekend I received two new Moto X Pure Edition (64GB Black) XT1575 phones that I ordered from BHPhoto while they were on sale for CyberMonday. I activated both of them on my Verizon Account by putting the SIM card inside (was using a Note 4 and Note 3). HD Voice (VoLTE/Advanced Calling) is disabled on the account. Both Moto X Pures are on Android 6 with the May 2016 security patch (24.221.4).
When using the Moto X Pure phones to make a call (either to each other, to a landline, or another cell) I can hear quite a bit of static/white noise in the earpiece speaker. The loudness of the static does not change when lowering or raising the call volume. It is very annoying and really takes away of the quality of the phone. But when using a wired headset or Car BT, the static is not there, so it only comes from the earpiece speaker.
I have been using smartphones since the original Moto Droid (with the slideout keyboard), and had done reviews on PhoneArena for over 8 years, but the call quality on these two Moto X Pure phones are pretty bad with this static and sound far worse than my Note 4/3/2 that I have here.
It also looks like I am not alone in hearing this call static, as others have posted about it, mostly saying the issue happened after the update from 5.1 to 6.0, as it wasn't there before.

As it is right now, I contacted BHPhoto to see if they can be exchanged for two other Moto X Pure phones and hope they won't have this issue. Otherwise, I'd just return them and go with something else. I originally had wanted to go with the LG V20 US996, but at $800 it is three times the price as the Moto X was on sale.
Have you tried enabling advanced calling? Mine is enabled and do not have this problem.
Second have you tried traveling to a different near by cell tower n make a phone call?

When I switched from my Verizon LG G4 to my 2015 MXPE I trimmed down the microSIM to a nanoSIM and popped it in. When everything booted/activated I had my Advanced Calling 1.0 still activated and working. The only thing I lost was Wifi calling which I never used anyway.
My calls are crystal clear regardless of if I am in an HD call with someone or if I am calling a landline or conference call. I would look into getting Advanced Calling 1.0 activated (do it from Verizon's website in your account preferences) to see if that helps.
Good luck!

Yes, I may not have made it clear in the post above, but I initially had Advanced Calling (VoLTE) not on my account (and disabled in the Moto X Pure) when I placed my active SIM in it, and heard the static in calls. A while later I went to My Account and added "HD Voice Advanced Calling" to my account and made sure it was activated on the phone under "call network settings". But no matter what combination that I tried, or even different cell sites around Ft Lauderdale and surrounding areas, I'm still getting the static.
The thing is, that I only hear it out of the top earpiece speaker. Not when using wired headphones or when using a BT headset or BT Car. So that seems to me the issue is with the earpiece speaker.
I have done many phone reviews before (over at PhoneArena.com) and had experienced this "static" on a few other phones over the years (LG/Moto/HTC/Samsung).
Have you tried backing up your stuff and doing a factory reset from the recovery menu just to rule out any apps making unwanted changes?

Yes, tried a factory reset twice (it was one of the first things I tried) but still have the static/white noise sound. I'm sending them back to BHPhoto for an exchange and will see if the replacements are any better.
