I backed up with twrp. But i dont know if i backed up efs. I chose system data recovery when i did it.
Restore aTWRP backup from before you had the issue. If that doesn't fix it then it's probably your EFS partition. If you didn't back that up and that's the problem then I don't know that there's any way to fix it. Especially since Sprint doesn't have a kdz file to restore from

I want to restore the phone back to my factory settings but now the LG Software says I'm already on the lastest update wo it won't let me reinstall. Can you guys help me please?
What was your previous ROM, and did you wipe system, data, cache etc?

It was on the stock ROM from a local carrier in Argentina. Turned out it only rejects SIM cards from one carrier. I tried with a different carrier and it worked just fine. Then tried with a different SIM card but from my same carrier and it didn't work. It's very rare

I have no explanation of what has happened to my n7. It shut off by itself and just bootloops when I try to turn back on. I can get into recovery and I have a nandroid backup of a stock rom. Everytime I restore it restores system and then fails?? I flashed 3 different roms and all r flashed successfully but I get the same bootloops . I was using latest twrp and was get error I/o data / speedtest. Something else but I flashed cwm touch b4 I could jot down the errors . I figured it was twrp bug and didnt realize I wouldnt b able to flash back to twrp do to using gooim to write the image in the first place. I am desperate to find out what happened and I wont b near a pc for a few days. I have an unlocked rooted grouper version . I have read and searched b4 posting

it could be a hardware failure, maybe the mounted drive (emulated sd card) is corrupted and broken? the boot partition seems to be working
It sux cuz I wont have access to a pc for a few days

have you tried clearing the whole of /system /data /cache... everything except /sdcard then flash a new rom? maybe that'll clear some things up

Yes I wiped system /cache/dalvik/ and factory reset I did them all like 5 times each and flashed a brand new rom. Its so weird
Nothing works. I am always prepared for atuff like this with multiple nandroids cwm/twrp but they both fail to restore

Back in a few months ago I'm faced with that problem once, tried everything like factory reset, format system/data/cache/sd, install new ROM and also tried to restore by nandroid backup (that used to work fine before that problem occur) but non of these solutions work.
Finally I've to use fastboot to flash it to 4.1.2 (to format and re-partition the device) and flash it back to 4.2.2 and then it work fine again even with many custom rom and kernel installed to my N7 very frequent and today it still work just fine.

In the future, I'd refrain from flashing if you didn't have a computer on hand.

Electronics can be wacky sometimes
I've got stuck in boot loop twice in a row after spending hours restoring phone with different method. Maybe I should have learned my lesson not to touch TWRP. Has anyone backedup and restored without a problem? Is there a way I can fix this issue without starting all over again?

Ive backed up and restored twice now with no problems, did you completely wipe and factory reset? You have to do it in that order.
I forgot, and just restored. But that shoulnd't cause bootloops. Ive used TWRP before on gnexus. what did you learn from your first bootloop error? I saw you had many posts. What have you changed to fix that ?

This isnt the Gnex, i know what you mean, this phones recovery method doesnt work the same as the nexus.
I learned this from other people's trial and error actually from this very g2 forum. With this device it requires a complete wipe and then a factory reset.otherwise boot loops will occur.

in your experience, has how you flashed TWRP mattered? What about how you booted into recovery? I recall you bricked not trying to restore. is wiping the only thing you changed to prevent the boot loop?

Yes, ive had one bootloop from using TWRP but a full wipe and FR resolved this issue. I did brick once by taking the verizon OTA while having TWRP. But that was a month ago and I tried to restore from my backup to no avail though. This was fixed by the devs. Anyway bottom line when I ran into bootloop issues I just did this methodology and it worked, its def different from how we use TWRP on the Gnex.
Is this what your asking about or no?
I ran into the same problem but fixed it using the method in "go back to stock" thread. The mistake I made was that I chose to format my internal storage in the wipe menu so i couldn't restore either lol.

Can you point me to a method to install via ADB? I am confused about loki's involvement.
FWIW, I'm using TWRP without issue so far. Very easy install and I've done two backups, but have not had to restore anything yet.

Holy Crapshoot that was easy... how do you reboot into recovery using hardware buttons on this thing?
I use the clockwork mod app .. if you use the hard buttons I think you have to choose the factory reset option and then that will take you to recovery. .. I have not used that method. .. just what I have read. .. vol down and power. .please research that first

Hello Guys,
im facing a problem with my i9505,
I've been using Liquidsmooth Rom for some time,
and yesterday i flashed some roms, and now my sim card isn't recognized anymore, aswell my IMEI and Baseband are missing.
I've had that problem before, so flashed stock rom and restored a TWRP Backup containing only my EFS folder.
This has solved my problems in the past, but now nothing happens.
I have a TWRP backup aswell as a copy of the EFS folder.
Has someone else faced the same problem or knows how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
No one?
Try to restore efs folder manually with root explorer
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm trying right now, but I am confused because the restore with TWRP doesn't do anything to my EFS folder.
Ok, I copied the EFS folder from my microsd back to the phone but nothing changed :crying:
Have you tried flashing back to stock with Odin? I've heard that can sort out IMEI problems and the sorts.
Even if it doesn't it gives you a clean phone to work with, so you can eliminate any rom problems.
I flashed the stock rom, as well as different modems trough odin, but nothing changed. But I'm wondering why the TWRP restore doesn't show any result.

Thanks Mate, I'm still trying. If not, I found a service to repair it for 25 Euros but I hope I will be able to do it myself.
Try to Download another stock rom and before flashing it do a full wipe, including formatting data and cache. Something similar happened to me a few days ago. I've flashed a russian rom and problem solved, but I have the i9500 model.

Not sure if this will work, of it you've tried it already, but have you tried a different version of TWRP?
I did actually, but I'm going to try a older version too and see if it works.

Ok, tried restoring with TWRP 2.500 and it shows me failed, contrary to TWRP 2.7.
With TWRP until 2.6.3 it shows me failed, 2.63 and 2.7 show me a succesful message.
LOL it just started working again without me doing anything :highfive::laugh:
So a friend`s oneplus 5 has somehow lost signals, both imei are flushed and wifi would not even turn on. Tried flashing the stock rom tgrough adb sideload, tried fixing efs using instructions here: (https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/restoring-efs.486667/). Still no luck. Any ideas?

Well no. The phone was not rooted, and bootloader was locked when the problem first occurred. Bootloader was unlocked while trying to fix the problem. Is there anything that can be done? or do we only have a paperweight now?

so basically i had that issue, but today while trying different things, i restarted the phone and out of nowhere the imei, wifi, baseband came back. I instantly made the backup of the efs partition and when i was done making that backup through twrp the phone rebooted and again no imei, wifi, baseband etc. I again booted into twrp and restored the backup but to my disappointment it isnt working. its an absurd behavior i know but i am just helpless here.
