IMEI Problems - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys,
im facing a problem with my i9505,
I've been using Liquidsmooth Rom for some time,
and yesterday i flashed some roms, and now my sim card isn't recognized anymore, aswell my IMEI and Baseband are missing.
I've had that problem before, so flashed stock rom and restored a TWRP Backup containing only my EFS folder.
This has solved my problems in the past, but now nothing happens.
I have a TWRP backup aswell as a copy of the EFS folder.
Has someone else faced the same problem or knows how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

No one?

Try to restore efs folder manually with root explorer

I'm trying right now, but I am confused because the restore with TWRP doesn't do anything to my EFS folder.

Ok, I copied the EFS folder from my microsd back to the phone but nothing changed :crying:

Have you tried flashing back to stock with Odin? I've heard that can sort out IMEI problems and the sorts.
Even if it doesn't it gives you a clean phone to work with, so you can eliminate any rom problems.

I flashed the stock rom, as well as different modems trough odin, but nothing changed. But I'm wondering why the TWRP restore doesn't show any result.

I hope you can recover your phone!

Thanks Mate, I'm still trying. If not, I found a service to repair it for 25 Euros but I hope I will be able to do it myself.

Try to Download another stock rom and before flashing it do a full wipe, including formatting data and cache. Something similar happened to me a few days ago. I've flashed a russian rom and problem solved, but I have the i9500 model.

I flashed a 4 Part Rom with full wipe already, but nothing changed.

Not sure if this will work, of it you've tried it already, but have you tried a different version of TWRP?

I did actually, but I'm going to try a older version too and see if it works.

Ok, tried restoring with TWRP 2.500 and it shows me failed, contrary to TWRP 2.7.
With TWRP until 2.6.3 it shows me failed, 2.63 and 2.7 show me a succesful message.

LOL it just started working again without me doing anything :highfive::laugh:

I was using latest twrp and was get error I/o data / speedtest. Something else but I flashed cwm touch b4 I could jot down the errors . I figured it was twrp bug and didnt realize I wouldnt b able to flash back to twrp do to using gooim to write the image in the first place. I am desperate to find out what happened and I wont b near a pc for a few days. I have an unlocked rooted grouper version . I have read and searched b4 posting

it could be a hardware failure, maybe the mounted drive (emulated sd card) is corrupted and broken? the boot partition seems to be working
It sux cuz I wont have access to a pc for a few days

have you tried clearing the whole of /system /data /cache... everything except /sdcard then flash a new rom? maybe that'll clear some things up

Yes I wiped system /cache/dalvik/ and factory reset I did them all like 5 times each and flashed a brand new rom. Its so weird
Nothing works. I am always prepared for atuff like this with multiple nandroids cwm/twrp but they both fail to restore

Back in a few months ago I'm faced with that problem once, tried everything like factory reset, format system/data/cache/sd, install new ROM and also tried to restore by nandroid backup (that used to work fine before that problem occur) but non of these solutions work.
Finally I've to use fastboot to flash it to 4.1.2 (to format and re-partition the device) and flash it back to 4.2.2 and then it work fine again even with many custom rom and kernel installed to my N7 very frequent and today it still work just fine.

In the future, I'd refrain from flashing if you didn't have a computer on hand.

[Q] Please help, stuck in Clockwork Recoverymod boot

The other day I recieved a notification on my phone that there was a new update available for my LG Optimus L5's SW, and after my phone downloaded the update package it rebooted and went directly to Clockworkmod Recovery instead of installing the update. Now I can't seem to boot the phone normally as it will boot directly to CWM. I have searched in similar threads, I have tried reflashing a rom into it, putting it on download mode (not emergency because it didn't seem to work), wiping cache, fixing permissions, and still there is no luck. Is there any way to fix this problem? By the way I'm using an e610, my android version was 4.1.2 and the ROM I used to root the phone was 20d, with CWM 6.0.2.8.
Format everything (no external sd) and try

D802 stuck in recovery in a weird way

Hi guys, I made a mess today. I decided to restore my stock LG software backup and everything went well. Then there were some LG updates and when they downloaded, I chose to install them. That took me to TWRP. I figured it needs the stock recovery to install the updates so I gave up on the updates and tried to reboot my device. It booted back to TWRP. I found it a bit weird, but I didn't care since I had a backup on the phone. I wiped data, cache, system and dalvik and restored the backup. Guess what, the phone would still only boot into recovery. I started freaking out so I wiped everything except internal again and flashed an AOSP based rom along with the gapps. Still wouldn't boot except recovery. Then I started to freak out even more and decided to wipe EVERYTHING, along with Internal storage. And here I am now, wiped every single thing on the device, stuck in recovery and can't connect my phone to the PC with usb. just a few minutes before I have to leave home. Any ideas on how to fix this? It was just some pointless LG update and it caused such a mess... ADB sideload won't work for me, I'm gonna attempt to find some drivers or something.
Anybody?

Dude, I've done my research and tried to fix it myself. The phone won't go into download mode and it won't connect to my PC. Drivers installed, LG tool installed. I just don't know what to do and I need help from someone who does know.

If you have twrp 2.6.3.4 you sideload rom but this may not help you.
You are going to have to go back to 100%stock.

In TWRP you have USB-OTG. If you have this cable you can install ROM from USB-flash)
I had the same issue. Only way to fix it was with the LG flashing tool. Make sure the usb port you are using on your computer is working and the cable isn't broken. I just followed the steps from this thread and it worked 100% for me.

[q] can not copy nandroid backup from pc to internal memory

this is my second note 3. first one rooted it tripped knox warrenty, installed philz cwm anf flashed kitkat 4.4.2. everything was great for a few weeks till I done 2 nandroid backups. I tried to move them to pc which was not a problem, but when I came to delete them from internal memory they would not delete I believe due to the write protection enable. so long story short got phone replaced under warrenty even with knox tripped (lomg story). I just flashed kitkt 4.4 and rooted my device and flashed philz cwm, I came to copy my last nandroid backup to internal memory to do a restore and it wont let me. it says this device is no longer connected. but I can go into any other directory and copy it. can somebody plz help????????????

If I were you I would do a nandroid backup onto an external SD, that way in case I can't boot and push files into the phone's internal storage, I will always be able to restore from extSD.
You shod use with the best recovery TWRP
really best

Your asking for trouble!
Your backup is for a different phone, the hardware will have different id's etc.
In short,don't even bother.
So cause i got a new phone even thou its still a note 3 n9005. It has a diffrent id? When i lot titainium backup it says would you like to restore previous phone id. Would that fix it?

Thats an easy fix. I just copy internal memory to pc and recopy everything but my nandroid backups.

Never restore Device A's Nandroid on Device B. It will brick.
You can use a Play Store app to extract parts of a Nandroid to your device without bricking.
Thanks nicholaschum for the good advice. What play store app can I use?

I backed up with twrp. But i dont know if i backed up efs. I chose system data recovery when i did it.
Restore aTWRP backup from before you had the issue. If that doesn't fix it then it's probably your EFS partition. If you didn't back that up and that's the problem then I don't know that there's any way to fix it. Especially since Sprint doesn't have a kdz file to restore from
