Hi everyone,
After reading @psouza4 guide to rooting my S7, I'm getting used to it every passing day as an upgrade from my S4.
I noticed some lag when getting an incoming call from the Always On Display (AOD). The phone will vibrate right before the ringtone plays, however the phone's AOD is still showing a good second before I see the incoming call screen.
I realize this is a minor inconvenience, and if I were a bit more patient I'll eventually see who is calling. However my Office desk phone routes to my Mobile phone and I need to quickly see who is calling to accept calls quickly and not keep clients waiting for me to answer because I didn't see who it was.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this standard operation of the phone? Is there a solution to this?
Any input is truly appreciated.

Ok ive been pulling my hair out for a while with this problem so im really hoping you guys can give me some answers or suggestions to help me fix it My Girlfriend has the Galaxy S5 SM-G900V. Baseband version G900VVRU2BOG5 So rooting or custom ROMS is out of the question so that leaves me with trying to diagnose and eliminate this problem without a easy way out.
Ok the problem is once she updated the phone to lollipop she had all the common problems that come with it over time i have slowly eliminated them with factory resets and cache cleaning and such although i have one problem that not even verizon can figure out. The phone itself with occassionally and randomly just refuse to make or receive calls its a very odd problem because the phone will send and receive sms and mms just fine when this happens but when we try to dial out it just sits at dialing and never connects, when calls are dialed into the phone it will ring 5 times or so then go to voice mail or just go straight to voicemail altogether without ever ringing the s5 shows no sign of anyone ever trying to call at all no ringing no records nothing. Once in a blue moon it will ring 4 times on the dial in and then the s5 will start ringing around the 5th ring which is extremely long time IMO. This happens very randomly and in all different locations i have disabled call blocking and auto reject i have tried safe mode to only experience the same problems, i have factory reset several times. Verizon opened a ticket with there tier 2 techs and network development team to check out the issue they tell us everything is completely fine and theres nothing they can see wrong. But they do not deny the problem is there they just cant explain it. Now get this, This is the second phone that has done this to her Ther first one had the same problem and was warranty claimed this is the second phone and same exact issues. Im not sure what else i can do i am a very tech savy person and this one has got me stumped the only thing i can see thats odd for me is the phone has 3 Phone services running in the background But I believe this may have something to do with the Touchwiz Easy Or Regular Home UI althought im not sure why it would use seperate apps. Anyway any input would be helpful Thanks
Hi, I recently (yesterday actually) had to factory reset my S7edge. I'm running the latest beta Nougat version still but I noticed that I wasn't receiving any notification pop ups on my home screen for my text messages and incoming phone calls I use both stock apps and I've never had this happen before without being able to troubleshoot it myself. I think I've done everything possible, but if someone could help me out, I'd really be grateful. Thank you... Keith G
Hey guys, hoping someone can help me with some problems on a refurbished S7 Edge I've just bought.
I've done a factory reset, installed a new SIM and got the SIM running with the mobile operator.
The main problem is that when I make and recieve calls the other person can't hear me, only very garbled staticy sounds. I've checked the microphone by making video recordings and using Facebook Video messaging and the mic doesn't seem to be the problem. I've tried removing the protective case etc, but no luck.
Another weird issue is that the clock is running extremely slowly. I've tried setting it to manual time but after 12 hours have passed the clock on the phone has only progressed about 3 hours. Never seen anything like that before. There is a Vodafone app installed on the phone but I don't think there is a network lock as txt messages and internet seem to run ok on the new SIM (not Vodafone). The other issue is that Wifi seems to drop and reconnect a lot. I'm in New Zealand and the phone has installed OTA updates for 7.0.
Phone is unrooted. I've done some rooting and installed custom recoveries and ROMs in the past but not on the S7. I'm not a complete noob but usually need to follow detailed instructions when customising.
Any recommendations on the best approach to these probs? Happy to root and customise if it might help with the issues.
Thanks in advance,
Tig
Hi everyone! Wondering if you guys may have heard of or are familiar with an issue I recently came across. First I'll rattle off my specs.
LGV20 H91820f
Oreo 8.0.0
Rooted using Lafsploit
TWRP Recovery
Magisk Manager
Textra Texting App (This is important)
The issue I am having seemed to have started rather recently and specifically occurs the most when receiving and sending text messages. I have noticed that in some cases, when sending a text, it will vibrate once sent. This does not happen on all texts and is even intermittent on the texts that it does happen with. I have looked through Textra and have not seen any settings which do that. The other issue is, prior to receiving a text my phone will do a long vibrate, then once the text is received, I will get the vibrate pattern I have set up. Again, I have not seen any settings in the App or in the phone that indicate why that would be happening. I have disabled the default messaging app to see if that might be interfering in some way but to no avail. I haven't found too many answers searching online. Anyone have any other insight or possible solutions? Feedback is greatly appreciated. If you need any more information about my setup, please let me know.
Hello,
I observed that my Samsung A20e does not block calls from my other Samsung S7 (different phone number, of course) and vice versa. I have entered the phone number from the S7 in the address book on the A20e and then ticked that number to be blocked. When I call my A20e from my S7, the A20e rings as usual and the caller's details (from the S7) appear as usual. The same happens (on both devices) when somebody else calls either of the devices, despite he is on the list of blocked callers on both devices. This is not as it is supposed to be.
The A20e is stock Android 10, non-rooted, whereas the S7 is stock Android 8.0.0, rooted (the OS/root status on the S7 should not matter, though, for the A20e).
Actually, I do not want to install a caller blocking app, since this should work out-of-the-box. But, alas, it currently does not.
Does anybody of you have the same experience on the A20/A20e and maybe even found a solution? Thanks a lot for your hints and help!
Has somebody observed the same problem and found a solution?
Hello, I am still searching for a solution. The phone does not ring, but after a blocked caller called, it still shows information about that call, which I find very annoying. Isn't there a (non-root) way to completely(!) ignore blocked calls? Thanks for your hints!
