Low tests scores - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

I have tried testing my lepro3 on antutu.
i have installed lineage cm13 - the tests are terrible. 97000 to 107000. those are on a clean install.
then i installed (and am using now) cm13 by superluminal (latest betA) - the most that i saw is 122000. google shows it should be 160000+
Geekbench shows 1800 single core and 4500 multicore, while i can see on google that it should be 1600 and 5600 respectively at least!
Is this fine? Is there a chance i got a defective hardware?
thanx
p.s. i never tried on the default preinstalled firmware

Try with slim6 of superluminal you can do a high score

slim6 results:
geekbench 1800 single core and 4200 multicore
antutu 127000.
VERY disappointed!
the question stands: is it possible that i have a phone with a defective processor or other hardware?

That's not true, the most I got on Slim Rom by SLI was 141,000 on clean install and 60 minutes Idle.
To the OP: no you don't have bad hardware, what you experience is normal and I spent last 10 days testing every possible ROM under many circumstances (idle, back to back runs, run after idle, run after boot, run after overnight power off, hot room, cold room, etc.)
You can get 160,000 + on Ressurrection Rom by Villarleg but with repetitive runs it drops to 110-120,000 range step by step.
PacRom is the second best with high 150,000 but also goes down with repetitive runs pretty sharply.
Stock ROM by and Stock-Mod by TARS and MIUI by Villarleg give continuous high 150,000 and 160,000 runs even on multiple back to back runs, without any sharp drops, and virtually never drop under 140,000 even after 10 back to back runs and phone as hot you could fry eggs on it,
Stock-Mod by Turbo gives 160,000+ but also starts dropping considerably on repetitive runs, but drops are not as sharp as CM-based Roms (CM, SLI, RR, Pac) and Slim..

this is what i get on google edition rom...with performance gov. [emoji1]

Same for me, with stock rom i was in 13-14k with antutu and with cm13 im even lower.
Dont think its a fake thing but also dont know why the scores often differ that much.

After several hours of usage, couple of reboots and closing all the apps via the recent apps I get AnTuTu 87000.
This is outrageous

Stop talking nonsense please. No, you dont have fake cpu. No one makes fake cpus in range of 130000antutu lmao. Benchmark results mean **** in most cases. They are software dependant, and can be influenced by many small things you cant even imagine. Pro 3 doesnt really have a fully optimised rom atm, so dont look for record breaking benchmarks. 160k-170k is usually reached on stock, or on high performance mode which usually starts on its own when phone detects benchmark app. And just because for example you have 100k on cm, and 160k on stock, doesnt mean cm is slower, cause as i said earlier, in real life usage benchmark scores mean ****.

As the poster above says, it's virtually improbable to have fake CPU at 130,000 antutu level, even 80,000. Fake would most likely be 20-30k max.
I am on one of many modified stock roms, and after full day of usage I just got 157182.
Lineage and CM-based ROMs are really bad at Antutu. Now I have noticed that on the stock based ROMs, when you enter Antutu a message is displayed "performance mode entered". You don't get that on Lineage. Most likely the stock software knows you are running ANtutu and tweaks settings for the best score.
Maybe read this: https://www.xda-developers.com/benc...ght-red-handed-and-what-theyve-done-about-it/

Because you didnt try stock, your own fault. And as i said, they are SOFTWARE dependant, after usage yoi have less free ram, some apps and processes running in the background, it all matters. If you wanna keep sweating over this, have fun, but i already told you, your phone is perfectly fine and benchmarks mean ****.

Who care about score when already u have best phone/price
I already have n6p and this phone better speed + battery + connection

Quadrant is an App
1. How are you doing a quadrant benchmark? Mine errors out at "decoding video". (10/12)
2. I am working on a 1.2 ghz overclock kernel. So far a lot of bugs, maybe that's why quadrant failed... if I succeed, I will try 1.4... if I can even out the major bugs I will release it.
Also, just want to add that on said kernel I got a 6752 overall in Chainfire...

You're likely getting an error at "decoding video" because you have used your camera. In order to get quadrant to work properly, you have to run a benchmark before you've opened the camera and caused it to force close.

I'm not sure how many times you've tried the test, but I did it about five times in a row and each time my score raised by about 150 until it steadied at 4200 or so. Make sure to free as much RAM and extra processor usage as possible using a task manager or similar. Also, are you at 1.1Ghz? That's what I'm at with the kernel that came with the CM7 pre-beta install. I believe it is faux's kernel.

ICS Roms Benchmarked

Used Quadrant Standard Edition 2.0
This was done on 3-28-2012. Pretty much all the ROMs have had new releases since then. So these benchmarks do not accurately reflect the current performance of the ROMs.
Full wipe procedure done before each flash.
Coldboot done for each ROM before running Quadrant. Not doing coldboot resulted in lower I/O score in some cases.
Testing was done using the default settings and kernel of the ROM. No kernels were flashed separately.
Overclock was tested only if the ROM and its default kernel supported it, using the maximum frequency allowed in the ROM's settings + force GPU rendering set to enable in developer settings.

Android 4.0.4 ROM
What the hell is going on with the 2D scores? Why is stock so far ahead of the others?
I dont have any fancy diagrams or tables like you but...
I ran quadrant on eos build 12 and got a total of 3.5k (average, 3 runs).
Settings: CPU at 1.4Ghz, no forced gpu rendering.
Breakdown:
cpu: 6200
memory: 3200
I/O: 6000
2D: 110
3D: 1800
Interesting though that stock ICS performs that well compared to the other roms.
So in raw performance there isnt much difference between custom and stock rom, until you start tuning the cpu.

Enabling "force GPU rendering" on other ROMs increases the 2d scores to around 400.

Funny thing, stock is way better with 2d rendering, EOS and CM9 are faster in I/O...
Yup, the reason EOS and CM9 have such high scores is because of the I/O. I wonder how perceivable the difference is to an average user.
Team EOS's has a tiny FPS lag when scrolling home screens despite its high score.
Just got a quadrant score of 4237 with CM9 lastest (28-03) and guevor test 4 kernel at 1640mhz.
Here's what I got. Pretty much same as yours.

---------- Post added at 06:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:49 PM ----------
Now theres a build out with Android 4.0.4 (march 29) Maybe even more performance increases.
CM9 keeps getting better and better.
Looking forward to 4.0.4 benchmarks vs 4.0.3!
There wasn't really any performance increase in 4.0.4. The changes probably had to do with something else.
CM9 March 28 version + stock kernel
CM9 March 29 version(Android 4.0.4) + stock kernel
Looks like the forced GPU rendering didn't score as high this time though; do you know the explanation? Just curious, not particular adept at computer stuff so unnecessary to answer if you don't have time..

The scores fluctuate way too much. Honestly, only 3 attempts don't give accurate averages.

yep. just checked on my cm9 with test8 kernel @ 1,7Ghz:
total: 4185, cpu: 8230, mem: 3274, io: 7466, 2d: 121, 3d: 1834
(2d is low, because 'force 2d' makes some apps flicker and also lowers all other stats in this bench )
so I think I'll stay on CM9

[Q] Slow quadrant score?

Hi everyone!
Last night I was sitting with a friend of mine and tried to tell him that the Nexus 4 was faster than his Galaxy S3. He wanted to test it out and we both downloaded Quadrant Standard and ran the test...
Let's just say that I had to eat my words. I had a fresh install of CM10.1's latest nightly installed. The strange thing was that I was expecting the CPU to max out at 1500~MHz but it still stated 1100~ whilst the S3 was around 1400Mhz.
I went into the Performance menu and set it to PERFORMANCE but still the score was lower. My friend's S3 also had a custom ROM so was thinking that maybe the extra 1GB of RAM in the N4 may give a higher score.
What happened?
so because the s3 scores higher in quadrant, youre thinking that its a faster phone?
Quadrant scores literally mean nothing. You can't compare scores from different hardware on different versions of android running different rooms.
The s3 is a great all around performer that scores above average in all categories. The Nexus 4 scores higher in some categories (mostly hardware and software) but scores lower in others (camera, speaker)

The Nexus 4 has got some heavy thermal throttling problems, search for this term on these forums and you'll find plenty of info about it. Basically, the Nexus 4 is the only phone that is unable to keep running at the stated max clock frequenzy for more than ~5-10 minutes, because it would overheat. After a few minutes, it will throttle the performance. This is also the reason it sucks so hard on benchmarks, compared to other phones with exactly the same hardware.

No it isn't .. It doesn't use all the cores all the time for everything..
even if I fire up GTA 3 , straight away it isn't using all the cores, and in fact doesn't use cores 3 and 4 at any time in GTA3 , it isnt throttling here,
The only benchmark iv seen the Nexus 4 throttle on is glbenchmark when ALL the tests are ticked, which is like a 15-20 min test at full load
Dsmboost was correct in the previous post as well , hence why not all the cores are being used when in games.
Can pretty much bet anything that its not throttling in 1 run of quadrant ...

As you can see in the screenshot, my D802 is getting some pretty bad benchmark scores(20k). When I'm lucky I can get up around the 30k mark, then when I'm not so lucky, I fall down to performance lower than the GS4. I know, I know, benchmark scores doors not really matter in real world usage. But when it comes to crunching numbers, I expect the processor to perform its best!
Just some info about my setup:
-D802
-CyanogenMod 10.2 Nov 14 nightly.
-The "Custom G2" kernel by Wootever
-My device is overclocked to 2.5Ghz (saw a little performance increase, BTW this OC was done within the "performance" menu in cm10.2)
-Anything else important?
And just if anyone was wondering, all my scores are better with CM than on the stock LG firmware.
Any magic I can do to bump my bench scores? I have heard some people talking about a hidden dial menu, but I can't seem to access it..
Any help, or just feedback is appreciated!

When I first saw the Chart I thought to myself "CyanogenMod" then I read your post aaaand "CyanogenMod". Most people have been complaining about low bench scores on CM nightlies, some are better than others but Ive read post about people getting in the 17k with CM. Flash the stock Rom then post your scores and see how much that helps the cause.
Edit: Quick note, I dont think I have ever gotten over 23k with CM on this device so I have experienced this as well, not just reading up on it.

All the AOSP roms that dont have major bugs are all performing very well. They just dont score well, its not at all indicative of the hardware, its the Rom. But if your having very low scores on a stock Rom then you might need to get it replaced. Do you have shots of the stock scores? Also make sure that your not using your phone for about 5 min before benching at all or else you might thermal throttle.
Edit: Make sure your governer is set to ondemand or performance and make sure your at 2.2ghz. Some CM roms stay stuck at 1.7ghz and im not sure if this bug has been fixed yet either.

Thats also what i find kinda weird, CM is way smoother than the stock ROM, but is worse when it comes to crunching numbers.
Any way I can disable the throttling without doing damage to my device?

A bounty for AOKP recently reached its goal and is going to be in development very shortly. Keep your eyes open AOKP Roms usually always bench better than CM. Its a great performance ROM with way more features than CM. Keep an eye on the original android thread. Developers name is rohan.

I have just always preferred the more professional look of CyanogenMods website and other services, and I guess that is what made me think it would be one of the best out there. I will keep an eye on AOKP from now on.

Many manufacturers are known for favoring benchmark apps in their ROMs to achieve better scores. I don't know if this is the case with the G2 but, if it is, then switching to a ROM that doesn't have that (such as CM) would make it appear less powerful on the benchmarks.

G3 Antutu Benchmark

Whats your G3 Antutu Benchmark?
Mine is 26481 taken with airplane mode.
That's too low, isn't it?
It's really irrelevent. Open up a game and play it and how does it play?
Do you have any lag transitioning between apps?
Highest I got after a few tries is 30000.
Whats yours?

I was going to start a new thread about it. I don't really care about benchmarks but always check them for point of reference between my various tests.
See my screenshot of latest Antutu scores.

Also attached GSM Arena scores as point of reference.
I've not boosted, photoshopped these scores, hell no development yet, but small tweaks here and there.

dont worry about it there low because of the screen ,longs as apps load fast and play well thats all what matters
I got a 0 when I used Antutu X
2gb/16gb UK version around 31000

I now cannot get through the test without the phone saying "too hot shutting down"
Not rooted!!

i got 35813 on my last try
Rooted stock, no performance tweaks, just visual stuff with tweaksbox. Not outstanding, but I'm pretty pleased, in game i also didn't notice any lags yet (e.g. at asphalt 8), also haven't faced any throttling yet at longer periods of high demand.
Here are some additional stats of 3dmark

I got 36030. Pretty alright.
Stock rom, rooted with some LG bloat removed, default thermal settings retained (aka nothing modified) on ART I get 26K (the test, I believe runs better on Dalvik so I am assuming that is why my score was lower than 30K)
I decided to run Antutu X and it just gave me a score of 32K (on ART, which is usually about 5K lower than Dalvik)
After a few more runs.
Why so much big difference between the phones? I see scores from 26000 to 37000!! Why? I can understand what gives so much power in some phones.

it's another example of why these benchmarks arent the end all be all.

different people running phones differently, ART, Dalvik, certain ram draining apps all has an impact.
Generally Dalvik will give higher scores than ART as will having more 'free ram' (whilst giving you a higher score will not necessarily imrprove actual performance).
Temperature and battery level of the device when you run the test will also have an impact on the score.
Also I hope everyone is using Antutu X rather than Antutu - this is designed to stop cheating.

Agreed. In my experience even changing a launcher can increase your score.

Why start a new thread? It's then so hard to compare results, say, G3 vers Nexus 5 vers Note 4. 'Tis easier to post where all results are

Well, you're not exactly right, try to run this one benchmark and post here or there screen of your highest score. It will be much-much lower than that of XZ2, or HTC M8. And some people do play themselves or give their phones to kids for they can play. And low fps in games like in example. I'm not even mention GTA SA which is he11 of bad code itself and lags on almost everything but that's different story

Why? 'Tis so easy to understand, it's called throttling and discussed in this nearby topic
